Persona 5 Royal. Actually surprised WatchMojo got it right for once. Game took me over the course of a year to complete. It's so long, But legit one of the greatest games I've ever played.

One thing I do like about the newer Zelda games is that they are as long or as short as you want them to be. Out of the context of this video, but I have 5000+ hours in Genshin Impact and the game has still much to offer. If we are talking about Maps, Genshin has the largest FUNCTIONAL map in any game. Wide variety of landscapes and picturesque biomes all with their own gimmicks, Genshin is a game that keeps on giving forever. Shame that it's a gacha at the end of the day. However, it's entirely possible to 100 percent enjoy the game as a F2P.
WatchMojo, I have finished my only island in Animal Crossing New Horizons plus most of the dlc this past July that took me 4,435 hours since January 2023 when I started. For Breath Of The Wild, that took me 2,390 hours between 2/19/21 thru 5/20/22 in 100% both modes plus getting all inventory items and all armor to lv.4! Then there's Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition that I'm only about 1/3 the way through with 1,350 hours thus far as I've still got 6 maps in collecting the gold skulltulas from to unlock the rest of the 10th Rewards Map. Tears of the Kingdom did take me over 100 hours to beat. I think my dad spent over 100 hours on Persona 5 Royal. I played Witcher 3 for around 50 hours but it wasn't on the main quest.
I guess it's because I grew up with linear Zelda games, and I don't bash the more open-world nature of the new games as I don't mind time's changing, and it fuelling more growth for the series, but I guess the open nature of Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom has just made it harder for me to invest in it - even though I bought it - and want to spend time with it. I find the open world structure can feel like a bit of a slog especially when you don't have as much time for it, and I get less of a sense of the hero's journey from it in that I just feel bored by the end of it. All for them keeping the structure, but I would hope that we can continue to get some new zelda games with more linearity again in future as well.
By the time I finished Royale (watched the true ending) I was spent. Goodness, the length caused so much fatigue that I skipped Strikers and Tactica completely. The dungeons are not entire fun btw... so the fatigue factor kinda caught up with me. Skipped Strikers-Tactica completely.
I bought my switch when it came as the BOTW bundle. I have yet to finish the game. I refuse to even attempt TOTK before I do. Then I had that one evil coworker that finished BOTW in one weekend.
Have you ever looked on the back of the box of a certain game and it said “80 hours of content!” or something like that and it sent shivers down your spine or intimidates you?
Xenogears for playstation takes around 70 hours Chaos seeds for SNES Takes 100 hours to complete AND FF7 TAKES 80 HOURS TO COMPLETE DRAGON QUEST 8 TAKES 190 HOURS TO COMPLETE And more of Enix ,square ,taito and squareenix games
@robynwolph3836 no. Even if it were on the list it wouldn't be number 1, it's listed as on average to be about 68 hours long, compared to day persona 5 royal which is over a hundred, the cutscenes alone in persona are nearly the entire average for people's runtime in baldurs gate 3. Yes, there is a lot of variety and variability in baldurs gate 3 but we aren't factoring how repayable it is, we're factoring how long the game is to get through

Lots of games missing from the list with FAR higher play times. Fallout New Vegas is around 200 hours or more. The Dungeon Maker games on the Sony PSP are about 1000 hours. Skyrim requires a hefty amount of time to fully get through. Cyberpunk 2077 requires a massive amount as well.
Better story, characters, social links, friend moments like beach, concert or school trip; teammates, game atmosphere, endings - cried during credits. P4 left me with feeling I'm leaving real friend while P5 left me with "ok, good game" Maybe I'm favoriting P4 more because it was my first Persona game and it's like #8 in my top 10 games of all time, but it was a great journey.
@ThunderBlake I definitely think a person's first persona game gives a lot of bias because one fundamental level everything you said are why i prefer p5 over it. Personally I think it's the weakest of the three main persona games. That's how opinions work it seems but I don't really find the story interesting, especially all the twists throughout thst don't really make the game more nuanced but rather arbitrary also I thought Marie was the worst thing ever and there's a literal fox thst does nothing in the game except make you do obtuse tasks
@ThunderBlake futaba. Which ironically I'd probably the closest in spirit to a p4 character being that she has a palace dedicated to her. I've tried multiple times to play through strikers but for me at least I hate the gameplay which I'm not sure what public opinion on that is but it really hurts my enjoyment when I prefer turn based combat. So I can't say whether it's good or not.
Yes! After rigged to second place in music, Persona 5 finally got number 1 on Watchmojo! I have spent over 130 hours per run and yet I never get tried of playing, it's that good! (Music wise, I still think Persona 5 should've won as much I would listen to Zelda any day, P5's music is the most unique OST I ever heard. It's a toss between it and Star Wars for the best soundtrack in fiction.)

@@newgameaaaa Is it Age of Calamity, or Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition that you have on the Wii U? If its the Definitive Edition, I think twice even THRICE before starting it ! And I'd also recommend you first watch the review video by TH-camr, "The Completionist" as well!
@@davidbonhote2660 Its just Hyrule Warriors. No definitive, no age of calamity. I saw parts of the completionist. Yeah it looks like a lot. Maybe when I retire I 'll play it.
@@newgameaaaa well you also may want to take into account that Hyrule Warriors will inevitably take at least 3-5 years to fully 100% that game. I'm even having my doubts now if it's really worth it of putting in the effort for completing that game as it seems to go on forever!
I wonder what a 50 hour Uncharted campaign would be like.
If Hoyoverse games weren’t ongoing, I’d say they take the cake lol
Y'all forgot about Dream Team, it's very long. Due to the amount of tutorials. And it's like 56 hours long.
They even have tutorials in the final level. It's crazy
I was not expecting to see Monster Hunter on this list
As soon a I read the title of the video. I immediately thought of Final Fantasy.
Of these, I’ve only finished Final Fantasy XII. That one was a handful even before Joy-Con Drift set in.
Any of the xenoblade games took longer than half this list for the main story
The thing is, with how long they are, are they enjoyable? Nothing worse than a really long game that gets boring after a while.
thats for another list
I never stopped having fun with Valhalla, personally.
I can assure you Zelda TotK is
P5R is amazing so def is worth the playthrough(s)
Ni No Kuni is a great example of what you are saying
I am from future, I have time travelled to 2024. And trust me people havent finished Skyrim yet. It has been centuries.
Tears of the Kingdom did take me over 100 hours to beat.
I think my dad spent over 100 hours on Persona 5 Royal.
I played Witcher 3 for around 50 hours but it wasn't on the main quest.
I recall that it took me 80 hours to complete Dragon Age Inquisition. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but that's just how I roll
This video should be 10hours every game with 1 hour
I feel like Mass Effect should have gotten honorable mention
How could you not include Kingdom Hearts II or Neo: The World Ends with You?! Neo has a 50 hour campaign! KHII has like 30-40 hour campaign.
Persona 5 (2017) my 1st persona game in the series, I completed in 99 hours ♥
None of these touch the insanity that is battle cats
Came in here looking for Persona 5 Royal and was not surprised in the slightest that it was number 1
Please do Top 10 Video Games that didn’t deserve a sequel.
Right call for number 1, it's the game of the generation for sure imo
Have you tried Pokemon Soulsilver? I believe it took me around 100 hours to become the Johto champion.
Where is ”The longing” with its litteral 400 days of playing?
Xenogears for playstation takes around 70 hours
Chaos seeds for SNES Takes 100 hours to complete AND
FF7 TAKES 80 HOURS TO COMPLETE
DRAGON QUEST 8 TAKES 190 HOURS TO COMPLETE
And more of Enix ,square ,taito and squareenix games
Where the hell is Baldur’s Gate 3?
WHAT??? Balder's Gate 3 isn't on the list??? I was fully expecting it to be #1
Yeah I was kinda surprised it wasn’t here either
@robynwolph3836 no. Even if it were on the list it wouldn't be number 1, it's listed as on average to be about 68 hours long, compared to day persona 5 royal which is over a hundred, the cutscenes alone in persona are nearly the entire average for people's runtime in baldurs gate 3. Yes, there is a lot of variety and variability in baldurs gate 3 but we aren't factoring how repayable it is, we're factoring how long the game is to get through
Top 10 Longest Video Games Ever. Ricky Loves This WatchMojo Top 10 List! Thanks WatchMojo And Ricky!
The Legend of Zelda
I was waiting for Royal to be number 1 and was not disappointed
Resident Evil:Code Veronica was a pretty long game along with Silent Hill 4
I have invested 1000+ hours into Tears of the Kingdom, and still not even half done the side quests.
That seems like you're genuinely goofing around. It doesn't take remotely that long to do everything.
@@coletrainhetrick 1000 Korok (Got 400 and something) Seeds, 147 frog gems (Not sure how many), 152 shrines (Got all of those), Over 130 quests, only got like 50 something done. Side Adventures still got plenty to do, A lot of Wells. Got all Champions power ups. And other side stuff. Also, I don't really look up a lot of guides.
@@darkdragonmedeus705 again, you're mostly goofing off. It's not feasible to spend a thousand hours in the game and only be "halfway". It's like minecraft hoe there's a joke a lot of people didn't know the game has an ending
Genshin impact archon quests the main story especially you have to do all the side quest in character story quest to progress the main story
Why did there had to be so many Zonai shrines in Tears of the Kingdom compared to the previous game?
YES LEGEND OF ZELDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i skipped the zelda part of the video. The rest of the games are pretty interesting and i am glad they are doing well.
Where did you get the hours for each game from?
Lots of games missing from the list with FAR higher play times. Fallout New Vegas is around 200 hours or more. The Dungeon Maker games on the Sony PSP are about 1000 hours. Skyrim requires a hefty amount of time to fully get through. Cyberpunk 2077 requires a massive amount as well.
This list is main story only. I haven’t played dungeon maker but the other games aren’t that long if you just focus on the campaign
Surprised no rdr2
Wish Persona5 had more heart like in Persona4, I really miss Investigation Team where Phantom Thieves are meh for me
I just finished persona 4 and I honestly don't understand this sentiment. What do you mean by heart?
Better story, characters, social links, friend moments like beach, concert or school trip; teammates, game atmosphere, endings - cried during credits. P4 left me with feeling I'm leaving real friend while P5 left me with "ok, good game"
Maybe I'm favoriting P4 more because it was my first Persona game and it's like #8 in my top 10 games of all time, but it was a great journey.
Who is Your favourite character/s in P5? Also, did You play P5Strikers - if yes is it worth it?
@ThunderBlake futaba. Which ironically I'd probably the closest in spirit to a p4 character being that she has a palace dedicated to her. I've tried multiple times to play through strikers but for me at least I hate the gameplay which I'm not sure what public opinion on that is but it really hurts my enjoyment when I prefer turn based combat. So I can't say whether it's good or not.
Animal crossing just ended his career
Surprised final fantasy rebirth isn't on this list
Back in the day I used to think games like GTA Vice City Stories was a long game
No Elden Ring? Me completing everything that games has to offer put me at 120+ hours.
It's on here
I dont think Persona 5 is that long. It took me over 100 hours to complete, but i completed the story twice to get the platinum trophy
It's funny because my immediate first guess was persona 5 royal. If you just watched the cutscenes it's like 60 hours on youtube
blud forgot shadow the hedgehogs 100%
Sadly was suspecting any tales games like tales of the abyss or something
did not expect GT4
