You’re a pro, Christoph. It all looks so easy but I know this is so precise, complicated and you’re highly skilled! I’ve seen many people make stave drums but yours look and sound amazing! I love my drum! Amazing!

Wow…..now THAT truly was a drum made by hand. Loved the jigs you setup for the lathe. Very cool. I’d love to learn how to build a drum using those methods.

Today I tested the cherry snare at a drum shop DRUMZAAK, really beautiful. Everything breathes pure class. The lugs are insane! I prefer 8 lugs because its much easier to tune for me. I hope to purchase one in the future.

Great looking drum... I'm wondering how you get a clean cut on the drum in preparation for cutting the bearing edge. This is the one problem I have not been able to come up with a solution for.
Hi, thank you ! I make a cut on one side while still on the lathe. Then i take it to the tablesaw and cut to direct length.

Awesome man! , I am a beginner in woodturning, quick question what type of plate device are you using to hold the shell? I plan to make my own conga drums one day and wondering how to hold a 30in height by 11 3/4 stave shell, thanks in advance.
You can glue it to a faceplate, probably the most secure way to turn it. 😊

I can't see from the video if your saw blade is tilted or not. Is the jig that you clamp the wood to holding the angle?
The blade is tilted. The jig is just to hold the wood and save my fingers.
When cutting the staves, what angle are you using?
If you won't even make an attempt to find out that info on your own - you will NEVER even attempt this .
This video is amazing! I must ask; what mount did you use to put the drum shell on the lathe? And what is the brace called that you used to lathe inside of the shell?
The Brace is from an American Company , i don`t now witch one. I don`t use it anymore, the new one is homemade.
I just glued the Shell to a Plate of Wood and then took a Planing Disk to mount on the Lathe. Hope this helps.

2 buy a shaper, it will save you hours of inaccurate lathe work.
How is it that I haven’t seen drum builders using a shaper to refine the snare shell
