Great video again Ron. For anyone watching this not keen on wiring I would recommend getting your loom converted by a pro. Your looms comes back plug and play. Do not scrimp on wiring! This is the reason there are lots of unfinished conversions that ‘just need wiring sorted’
The only person i know with this enthusiasm for wiring😂 its not as difficult when u can read the crappy ELSA cfd's but my god its tedious and tskes a lot of patience so fair play. I will stick to swinging hammers around😅
Wish I'd had this 5 years ago when I did my conversion, would've helped massively visualise all the stuff. I had the added complications of going from a 1.8 automatic and nearly all the info on the net was from GTIs so I had to do manual wiring conversion along with it as well to make it more complicated!!
Amazing video, loving the series. Just a thought about pin 11 from ecu to stereo. Ive heard some headunits have a type of speed input that raises the volume when traveling at speed. Maybe that is it?
Thanks for the content as always you make it seem so easy. i just would like to know what would your advise be when doing this swap on a budget, is the 1.8T ECU plugs all the same in the sense where the harness and engine come from different vehicles? Awesome vid and enjoy the holiday season!
Yes mostly the powers in and out are all the same. I have noticed the odd one that the pins are in a slightly different place before depending on what it came out of, so always worth checking the wiring diagrams. Thanks for watching. 😁
i have a Golf mk4 Gti auq engine on the display your kms per liter when you start the car is 99.9 liters to 100 km, as i drive it goes down to 13....liters per 100kms. so the fuel consumption is high it should be under 10 if you drive like an old woman like i do, what might be the problem ? it gave an error code on obdelen as labda sensors i changes all of them bit i still have the same issue. and i mantain the car meticulously. is it a faulty sensor somewhere
@elardusboucher sounds like you're on the right track, a faulty lambda would cause high fuel consumption. Did you replace with good branded sensor, bosch etc, cheap ones can sometimes cause more problems than they fix.
Nice work. Looks like you are a solder guy rather than a crimp guy. (Waits for the arguments😂) Could the change of thickness of the wires be down to their length maybe? 🤔 I could be wrong.
Hi I'm very interested in having this done to my 1997 seat ibiza gti cupra. Is this something you would take on? What sort of costs would it be labour wise kindest regards john
I'm sure it would be pretty similar to this, definitely something I'm interested in. Lots of variables starting with what gearbox you have to start with so hard to quote a price. But get in touch at Autoshack if interested. 😁
I’ve done this conversion and I don’t have oil temp working on the original dash on my mk2 Ibiza would that be coz I haven’t used the original sensors from my 8v engine?
Always nice watching your car works Ron. No 1 in my books.
Using my wife phone just to see your updates. Mine on charge.🤫🤫
Spreading the algorithm 👍 I like it 😁

Fantastic episode 😁 I love how organised you are with wiring. Keep up the good work and episodes in 2025 🥳
Super super Ron.
Happy new year.
Thanks for watching 😁
Thank you for showing how wiring can be done. Happy Xmas holidays too
Thanks for watching 😁

Love it, love it, love it 😂👍
Great video. Some really helpful info included. 👍👍
Thanks for watching 😁
Cracking video Ron ! I love the more detailed videos on wiring etc. Happy New Year Ron & thanks for the videos 🎉
Thanks for watching 😁
Wicked info this bud! im just about to start a bam conversion into a clio 172 this will help massively, thank you for sharing 👌
Happy to help, thanks for watching 😁

Hours comparing wiring diagrams..., sounds like heaven to me 😂 thanks for watching 😁
Great work as always 💪
Thanks for watching 😁
You sir have skills! 👍
Thanks for watching 😁

Yeah quite possibly, I have come across that on Vauxhall's before. Thanks for watching 😁

love the wiring episodes, can i copy and paste your brain please🤣 would love to get mine eventually sorted
You don't want to get trapped in my brain, it's a deep rabbit hole 😂 thanks for watching 😁
@SuperRon if possible, jou seem to have allot of knowlidge on the 1.8 20v engines. can i have your input on something ?
@elardusboucher I can try 👍

I have never seen a power steering sensor on a MK3 before! I wonder if it were just on the Automatics?
This was a manual, it's been on all TT 1.8t's I've seen, this is the first time I've used it though.
@@SuperRon Yeah, sorry, I see the sensor and thought it was on the old engine, duh.
Nice work. Looks like you are a solder guy rather than a crimp guy. (Waits for the arguments😂)

I do solder most of the smaller wires, but all the larger power wires I crimp, depends what it is really. Thanks for watching 😁
wirering gives me a headache hahaha
Yeah I guess I'm a bit weird 😂

@@SuperRon yes it's the same engine 2.0 8v

Yes the 1.8t doesn't have a temp sensor, you need it from your origional engine
@@SuperRon cool thank you 🙏
