"That intercooler setup looks awesome! It pairs so well with the 'reclaimed materials' exhaust we built for it-had a lot of fun putting that together in our video. Might have to revisit it down the line and add a Helmholtz resonator!"
@@FluidMotorUnionI designed and fitted one to a 911 C4S a few years back due to drone on an aftermarket exhaust, it mostly fixed the issue. The biggest problem was the size of the canister and where to fit them to cancel out the frequency I needed. I ended up installing them alongside the back boxes under the bumper. I’ll have a look at your video 👍
My supercharged JK is sitting comfortably at 6psi. I know it’s conservative but it’s my DD and I plan on keeping it forever. It puts a smile on my face every time I give it some left foot. This project brought me to your channel and everything else kept me here. Alex you remind me of Jason from Autoedits - same zest for “while you’re in there” and being meticulous.
I'm a automotive painter and really into cars . Found your channel lil while ago and man I enjoy watching these videos mostly because you talk so normal to us and where we understand every detail. Great job 👏
The waist gate dump is a good way to lite dried grass under your Jeep on fire. As an avid off roader I would suggest staying away from fields when engine is running or any dried up areas in the wild. flames come out of the dump it could be catastrophic wildfire time.
I've owned a bunch of jeeps, and they have really weird aerodynamics. A scoop there wouldn't get any airflow. Above like 20mph, the airflow would go over the scoop. Like seriously, you can drive a jeep with leaves sitting there lol. But being a Subaru guy too, put the scoop there anyway lol.
Make sure the thermostat is actually seated in the little groove in the head. A lot of times as you go to button them up with the gasket, it will slip down slightly. Then you have the edge of the thermostat hang up, and not let the housing set flush.
@LegitStreetCars getting the thermostat in place in these engines is extremely hard. Apply a thin coat of rtv to the thermostat to keep it in place and let it cure before filling and running the system
I wish i could hear that exhaust in person because on film it sounds stupid good! OJ and the guys are masters at their craft for sure! Great Saturday upload as always Alex, thanks!
Alex, Max and his “Alex-isms” definitions is always funny. I know he’s a bit camera shy but we need to see him every once in a while man. Fun and cheap turbo kit project on the perfect vehicle for it. OJ is such a stud man.
Happy Saturday to everyone in the legit streetcar family May I wish you a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year coming up!! Right on Alex thank you and the other creators for doing what you do and keeping us with great content even during the holidays Rock on can't wait to finish up the Jeep project always have been a fan of Jeeps especially if they rock the 4.0
Looks great but don’t forget to reinstall the support rods from the firewall to the core support. Jeep bodywork is very rattle prone and those rods really help keep cowl / hood shake under control.
Alex is having a good time and producing enjoyable content. A lot of people don't understand that he's taking a bit of a gamble with a ridiculous set up to entertain his audience. Sit back, enjoy, and stop taking everything too seriously.
Needless to say, I've seen all your videos, they all have something in common, I didn't want any of them to end even if they were five hours long each i would watch them all. I love your work bro. Waiting for more videos.
The quote that stands out (for me), is with the exhaust "I think we can come up with something for YOU", this is not for the average guy/girl. That is so nice of him. Really nice! As usual... super great video!

31:27 I highly recommend putting a torch on the aluminum for a while at the point you are making the bend. I’ve done it both ways, and if you do it cold - you’ll see a bunch of stress cracks on the outside of that bend. I know it’s not super critical for that application but it does make it stronger and look better. Absolutely love the videos Alex!
Alex you are an amazing person with a great knowledge of cars. I love your content and wait for Saturday with your newest episode. Many may disagree with my opinion ‘we all have one’ but before you got into super charging in EVERY episode and EVERY vehicle I found it to be way better. Your heart, your family..tells who you are. Again, more wrenching and less turbocharging the next Chevette you buy. You are a great Dad, husband and auto technician. I wish you the greatest success, and yes, I will not stop watching.
I'm not a 4x4 fan boy but this build was my favourite build /video. Great job using recycled and cheaper parts. Very achievable for the average man. Nice work
We put that kit on an 01 and it was pretty funny. We moved the cooler to the bottom of the radiator. We had to make a set of switched fake sensors that only operated at specific voltages in order to keep the ecu from leaning out or advancing. They only worked at a 2.5K rpm. I rigged a Saab electronic bypass control that stayed open at all other rpms. My b/o was DOA so I bought a used Audi 5psi that worked as expected and was cheap. It ran like a Vette for five feet. The rest of the time it was noisy and made about 8mpg. But was always a conversation starter. Insane that someone else is trying this.
Your enthusiasm for your project is always inspiring. You’re like a kids that open a gift and it’s perfect. I’m not mechanical but you make it so much fun to watch.
Great job, Alex and OJ with the assist! Hypothesis about the thermostat housing: are you sure it’s not the thermostat itself? I installed a Holley unit once that made the housing leak while the original GM part was slightly thicker (in the Holley housing btw) and the leak stopped. So it might not be the housing. I’m probably wrong but just in case that helps
Man I really appreciate the work you put into making the Turbo kit work for the Jeep, repurposing parts from other cars and Fluid making the awesome megaphone Trifecta exhaust.

"That intercooler setup looks awesome! It pairs so well with the 'reclaimed materials' exhaust we built for it-had a lot of fun putting that together in our video. Might have to revisit it down the line and add a Helmholtz resonator!"
Add a Helmholtz?, that must mean you have a drone to the exhaust you built, and you want to cancel out the frequency? Probably between 2000/2500 RPM.
It’s crazy how it all came together! Can't wait to try the heimlich maneuver resonator, lol. It's going to come in for the save!
Watch our video on his build!

No Wrangler has or ever will deserve an exhaust this good.
I would say all the Ls swapped, 2jz swapped and hemi swapped ones deserve it
I think my TJ wants a kit like this :)
Fluid motor union isnt just an auto shop, they're artists and mad scientists!
I think I am going to head there from Indiana once my 392 swap is complete in my JK
That thing sounds incredible
@11:30... Sounds like a Cummins. As long as you keep the boost under 8 psi, you should be able to "tune" with just a rising rate FPR.
I was thinking the same thing, but I don't know Cummins engines and was afraid to say so.
Same here.😂😂😂

Being a subaru owner, I wish you kept that first intercooler and put a hood scoop on the jeep just like the crazy early sti scoops..
honestly. kinda weird he didnt just put a sick scoop

That thunderbird in the background at around the 15min mark 😍😍
Very nice! I love the exhaust! Glad i'm not the only one that gets excited about mixing up different brands.
This video is nuts! I've watched for a few years now & I'm not sure I've seen this level of "Mad Scientist" from Alex. Impressive!
Fluid MotorUnion went above, beyond, over the mountain, and through the woods on that exhaust. Their craftsmanship and their channel are top-notch.
Nice work on the Jeep Alex, I can't wait to see how well it runs. Happy New year to you and your family.

I’m convinced that you should now turbo everything you own 😂 great video!
You're right. I'm going to try and boost the new air fryer I got for Christmas. Atmospheric pressure is so 3 years ago.

The only reason OJ indulged the word budget is cause Alex spends so much money with him 😂
it would be so fun to see a diesel truck or SUV getting the legitstreetcars treatment, meaning boosting chip and raising the chassis 3" from stock :)
