First car camp for 2024

- Waking up on an Industrial Estate in Derby. I came for an event the night before, it finished quite late. The venue management gave me permission to stay overnight in the car park. I was a bit apprehensive in staying close to the city centre, but it was perfectly safe. The car park was covered by cameras and the gates were shut.
Ten minutes after I made this video a staff member turned up to make sure the gate was open. He asked if I had slept well. I showed him my set up and he was impressed.

It is. Since retiring from trucking I still have a need to get outdoors. Sleeping in my car is much like sleeping in a lorry cab. The bonus is that I get to stop and start whenever I like, and to go anywhere of my choosing.

You are a lot braver than me Ilona. staying in a car over night scares me. I thought of you yesterday as I went to the Farm Shop for a supply of root veg., but thought I would have a quick look at the jams and preserves, It wasn't till I went to the till I realised that like you I had overspent. but I was pleased with my treats, lemon and lime curd, and pineapple jam. yummy. Its nice to treat yourself occasionally.
At a farm shop you can get the basics, plus a few little extra treats. Go with a budget in mind, because it can be a bit expensive.

you got me hooked on passion fruit curds ! I use them on a rye , and fried egg sandwich for me breakfast here in Texas U.S.A.
Good. I first came across it in a Farm Shop. Now I like it better than the traditional lemon curd.

We had a campervan long ago...but I will try it simple..just park whereever I want...
Choose your places to park keeping safety in mind. I don't like to be too isolated in case some rowdy people stop to be nosy. I prefer posh residential streets. Get in the back quickly, stealthy is the game. Don't get out until the morning.
