Captain Lee, Kate, and Ashton reunite as a team and embark on an exciting new season in Thailand on mega yacht “Valor.” After his brush with death last season and promotion to bosun, Ashton’s work hard, play harder persona is at an all-time high. While his leadership on deck holds strong, Ashton struggles below deck to keep his emotions in check after the crew gets an unexpected surprise that rocks Ashton to his core. Chef Kevin’s high standards and strict rules for the kitchen and service clash with Kate’s stew style, leading to fiery confrontations in the galley. His apology to Rhylee "the morning after" was genuine and, actually, very manly, definitely made me respect him a bit. After his baby tantrum directed at HIS NEW CAPTAIN re the lackluster food & negative feedback from guests, I thought well, that's it, this guy is out of control and definitely does not understand his role on this vessel, or chain of command in general, but he's grown on me 😃!

I am a firm believer in not rewarding bad behavior and the boys are most definitely acting bad. Bravo should not condon this behavior and not have any of the back. If this were a typical work environment they would have lost their jobs due to indien ordination, creating a hostile work environment, sexual harassment, and sexual assault. also the men frequently drink to the point of blacking out, they have problems and Bravo is glamorising it. very disappointing.

Bravo should have intervened and removed Ashton from the boat after the car ride. You don't aggressively kiss a woman twice without consent and then violently threaten her when she spurns your advances. Because that was what happened. It didn't matter what Kate said, Ashton was pissed she wouldn't hook up with him and so he used any excuse to blow up on her. Disgusting behavior.
Ashton being as drunk as he was should have been fired after his appalling behavior. First he grabs Kate and forces his tongue down her throat. Then becomes enraged over something he claims Kate said about his mother.Punching the door and window of the van and continually gets up out of his seat and turns around to lean over the seat and get in Kate's face.All the time acting aggressive and threatening toward her.Captain Lee should know about this and take appropriate action against Ashton...FIRE HIM❗
Susan Matteo Great comment. I totally agree he should be fired. I honestly think what Kate said about his mother had nothing to do with it. He felt rejected and frustrated that she didn’t succumb to his advances. To add insult to his injuries Kate pointed out his unwelcome advances and her lack of consent. Following that she could have said water was wet and he’d have attacked her. He lost it and in that moment not one of the other guys there can say they weren’t afraid for her. That’s enough to get him fired. I’m stunned that he hasn’t issued the most grovelling apology to her. His lack of self awareness and continued excuses just makes him seem more dangerous.

Unfortunately, the season is over, so he can’t be fired now, but I’ll bet he won’t be getting a good recommendation from Capt. Lee when he tries to work on another boat! He is volatile, and dangerous. And excusing his behavior, “well, all guys talk like this”, it’s 2019 and you’re being broadcast around the globe, think before you speak!
@joany I think he 100% remembered what went down, he just doesn’t want to take any accountability whatsoever... notice how he victim blames and when in the wrong, is always like “it may have been wrong, BUT....” and tries to make excuses for his behavior (and poor behavior of other MALE crew members like the ridiculous Kevin/rhylee fight that was all Kevin), rather than just taking responsibility??... he knows if he had actually been honest with captain lee about what had transpired the night before, he would most definitely been off the boat (I mean CL was worried about a single female alone in Thailand... how would he feel about her safety in that van?!?!? I would take my chances with Thailand over crazy ashtray).. He really should’ve been booted when he became violent (not by captain but by bravo- like mtv does with members on the challenge)

I love how Ashton talks about how he could see how Courtney might have opinions about him based on watching the show - did he forget that she lived it, and was the first object of his full-court press? She wasn't interested, either, and luckily for her, it didn't go further.

I think the guys were trying to explain that the show only showed parts where Ashton was acting this way but in reality there was more times that it shows that he isn't that crazy. Lol I don't know I'm not a big fan of Kate cause sometimes she can be mean with the girls but i don't support the behavior Ashton during that night.
Kate knows what she is doing in pushing people's buttons. She is passive aggressive, and knows what she is doing with her comments. And while Ashton looks like a fool when he gets drunk, she does too.

I think people somehow forget that Kate has more stripes than anyone else on the boat, besides the chef (they are of roughly equal rank) or the captain. Her rank alone entitles her to more respect, not to mention her seniority and experience. That's how it works on boats - like a mini Navy. There are plenty of men in high-ranking positions who are rude to and abuse their employees, surely way worse than Kate does. As Captain Lee is always saying, "You don't have to like me personally, but you WILL respect the rank." That's just the way it is. I actually think Kate has been easier on her stews, and the rest of the crew, this season than in years past.
Thanks guys. 😊 The extension of that being, if Kate were a man, these deckhands (or 'dickhands' as Aesha from BD Med would say, which somehow seems more appropriate!) would NEVER dare talk down to her and insult her the way they do. Even on nights out, Ashton (until he gets blackout drunk, at least) is always saying things like "I am her superior" (usually about Rhylee) and "I'm the team leader," showing that rank and respect for it are very important to him, and that he feels they should be observed even during off hours. And yet, it's at precisely those times that Ashton usually chooses to yell at, argue with, and swear at Kate, and oh yeah, I almost forgot - try to kiss her repeatedly when she's made it abundantly clear she's not interested. This is bad enough, but the other guys on the boat take their cues from him. After all, if he can do it, then it's OK for these one-stripers to do it too, right? If any one of these fools were to call Captain Lee an inflammatory name to his face during a drunken night out, you'd better believe there would be a Come-to-Jesus meeting in the morning. Kate generally doesn't do this sort of morning-after reality check, except sometimes with her stews, and even that usually has to do with job performance, not day-off hijinks. She just is noticeably cooler to the offending employee the next day - perhaps throwing one or two of her trademark scathing remarks their way - and then they wonder why SHE's being a b****, not realizing or accepting that the problem might lie in their own prior behavior, and they call her one behind her back. Once this behavior has started, it only builds as everyone involved feels safer and safer with piling on her. Simply because she's a woman, they feel like it's okay to step across these boundaries they'd likely never cross with a male superior - not without fear of being reprimanded or dismissed, anyway. And it's not cool. I don't like pulling the feminist card, but it's blatantly obvious that's what's going on in this situation. Kate deserves all their respect - and respect is a two-way street.

MTV would’ve removed him from their reality shows where ppl have to live together (idk if they have any others aside from the challenge- that’s the only one I watch but for the challenge/real world (does real world even exist anymore?) they would’ve had HIM leave the boat for the night and then packed his 💩 and made him leave- they used to have house meetings and take a vote if the victim was unsure; but if the victim couldn’t be around the attacker, the attacker was out- now they kick them out right away on the challenge- and not even for something as crazy as ashtray was behaving)... bravo really needs to update their policies on shows where the cast are forced to live together

This guy is a freakin' nut, and he has issues that need to be dealt with before he hurts someone. He loves to apologize and thinks it erases his behavior (and criminal behavior in my opinion). He is the epitome of an abusive person who makes excuses ("it was the alcohol"), apologizes and thinks it wipes away his behavior and now everybody else is wrong for demonizing him. Look at abused women case studies, he is the poster child of what to stay away from; even to the point of where other men love him and stick up for him, it's like dead on!
The whole time in this interview, he kept pushing it back as if others were at fault, "I'll take a little bit of the blame," but really ever be else is at fault and blowingit out of proportion. He is a sick boy! The other's a espousing his greatness; man I am telling you he is The Poster Child.
When they were real, even Tanner admitted that his behavior scared him and he thought Ashton was going to hit Kate. Regardless of how anybody feels about Kate, Kate did not deserve to be sexually assaulted (second time too), threatened with physical bodily harm or verbally abused the way this stupid kid thought it was OK to do. All of them standing around and allowing it to happen, they all need counseling and some type of behavior modification to stop them been from being such big p****** and sticking up for somebody!

Let's face it, BRAVO loves this kind of behavior all Bravo shows are getting worse by allowing it to continue, I for one have stopped watching most of the Bravo line-up, Below Deck was one of my favorite but if they dont stop this criminal behavior I wont watch much longer.

Kate only did it to shut him up, because she didn't want to discuss it any further with him. She didn't *really* accept his apology, I don't think, and I don't blame her. When she realized he didn't even remember what had happened, I doubt she was in the mood to re-hash and explain to him what had actually transpired, so she took the quickest possible route to ending the conversation so she could get away from him and get on with the work at hand, which is very typical of Kate's behavior anyway. She knew the video footage would vindicate her in the end. I doubt Ashton's reputation will ever recover from this episode ... and nor should it.
