Last nights two firings were SPOT ON ! I think that the leadership compassion empathy and security that Aesha and Jason showed, was a true testament to what actual good people look like. I don't want to spoil it for those who have not watched it but I will say this WELL DESERVED, although looking at the upcoming moments, CLEARLY the boat drama is far from over.
Jason is the type of manager we all wish we had. Makes himself part of the team, truly wants to help people grow, leads collaboratively instead of barking orders, backs up his team AND gives constructive criticism when needed, has a great sense of humor and doesnt make work a stressful environment, but will lay down the law when needed.
@@kbanghart I don't see him as being "easy" on people. I see him as being the type of leader who wants to help people grow and succeed and acts as a support to make that happen. Because when push comes to shove and someone's behavior is unacceptable, or they aren't showing any growth after a certain period of time, he handles business the way it needs to be handled.

I think that we are all applauding Jason and Ayesha because honestly, speaking for myself and too many women that I know, most women carry a little guilt or shame because of things like Luke and Laura tried….. it happens tooooooooo much!!!!! So grateful that it was taken seriously
I adore the relationship between Cap Jason and Aesha..they have a wonderful friendship and respect one another..they enjoy teasing and pranking each other and they share funny silly banter..i hope they do other seasons together like Cap Lee and Kate have done!..Bravo to Cap Jason and Aesha..❤

What Luke did episode 6 made me cry this was so terrifying he chose the power light shut off and closed the door to assault Margot WHILE SHE WAS ASLEEP AND PASSED OUT. I feel sick this man is a predator. I’m absolutely traumatized from seeing this.

Lee was on his last legs when he rejoined the boat in season 10. It doesn't make great TV when one person basically can only sit in a chair and bark an order on occasion. A Classic case of not knowing when to let go.
I would like to know how Adam and Harry felt after watching the show and seeing that Joao wasnt lazy, he was working every time, just not around them..😅

Well she IS several years older now .. and has a totally different hair color. Her face might be slightly more filled out. Also she doesn’t have hardly any makeup on here either . But there’s no question she still looks like herself . I think she looks great personally 🤷♀️

Just curious, why is it that about 70% of the crew members can't seem to do their jobs properly without screwing it up most of the time, and aren't they embarrassed to have all their incompetence displayed on national TV? I mean, we laugh our asses off at them. Seriously.
I wouldn't say 70%, I'd say at least 30% to 50 though. I'll bet there's a ton of turnover for the 2nd and 3rd stew spots. And for the other part of your question, hey people just love to get on TV. If they can get a little popular, their social media might blow up.
Also, you have to remember that these people are on duty for hours and hours, and we only see a very small fraction of that on the show. So they could be doing a decent job at other times.

We didnt see the producers tell Aesha that Luke got ontop of Margo in bed while she was passed out, yet she went to Jason and told him that.. Since the show aired, Margo said that Adam getting fired hit everyone so hard and they gave him a big send off before he left..there was so much more to it.. I love BDDU..❤

When will there be a season three of down under because I found it very interesting. Lots of drama jampacked juicy plot twist after plot twist. Never left a bitch bored. I need it back. Cpt h Jason runs circles around Cpt Lee. He never got involved at all. Alesha is good but was immature regarding Joao. Didn’t need to tell Cpt. that Joao and chef got together. And bad mouth Joao so much. Joao really has grown in his job & people are loving him.
I definitely don’t understand the bravos reasoning for not renewing capt lee’s contract (unless it was a money thing but I doubt it it was that ) . Everyone loves capt Lee! I understand needing to keep things fresh and new but bravo doesn’t get rid of its star players on its shows . And I’ve always been under the impression that he was definitely on that list . 🤷♀️. Maybe it had something to do with his injury.
I think it was more of an insurance thing, he has a heart condition & become a little accident proned, plus I don't think they thought he was up for the stress.
I love watching captain Jason again there's one thing I don't approve of is how Aesha always saying Jason is like a brother to her she has a title the captain and the crew should show respect but he's under Aesha wings.
That's more an Australian/NZ way of doing things. Work hard but be relaxed and friendly about it. Being friendly seems to be their way of being polite.

I am sure Jason is a lovely person. But as a Captain, there is a thin line between himself and his underlings. And that line is drawn by him, yet it is invisible to the staff! And IF they can find it and see it, it's still always blurry, and then it's also constantly moving! I was that kind of boss when I was young (like, 20 years old), and working in a very similar environment! Think Dirty Dancing meets Below Deck, lol! It was amazing fun at that age. But ALL the other Captains know to keep a healthy distance between themselves as Boss and the staff. Let the staff have their fun when off! This is like having one's parents out on the date! That is part of the job! It is why the took the job (especially when on a Bravo show at the same time!), so to take that away from them by hanging out with them one minute, helping out during the day the next, makes everyone's head spin! The chef said it early in this season, but he did NOT! Because he is the BIG Boss! And always right! And so no one forgets THAT.... here's a super embarrassing helmet you MUST wear!!! NO EXCUSES, all night, especially while on camera! It is so you remember to do things MY way or the highway! I found that bit SO wrong!!! I know Bravo doesn't care if it is childish or ridiculous because it helps their ratings! But I found it borderline abusive (and I NEVER use that word for anything unless it is REAL!Like draws blood real.) Anyway, as long as no one is too insulted and doesn't get sued, whatever! Hopefully, Jason is leaning more to the Bravo side of his career (as much as he pretends he doesn't really care...🙄). And hopefully, none of the crew care and also think it's funny.... but it is NOT something you will find in a book or TED talk about how to be a Great Boss!! After 30 years of being the boss, I am sure of it!
I think Jason is a great boss and a fantastic leader. That was highlighted in his swift, effective response to what happened in episodes 6 and 7. The best leaders can give feedback, hold others to their expectations, and still allow their team to have fun when the time is right. He does all of that and more. I never see him blurring the lines between personal and professional, either.
I think it's partly cultural Australia and New Zealanders tend to be like this as bosses. It can be confusing and disconcerting if you come from many other cultures because Aust/NZ still know how to balance this with their bosses because it's how they interact but other cultures don't seem to have an innate respect for friendly kind bosses they seem to feel you have to be more distant.
Capt lee sits in his wheel room most of the time, waiting for his breakfast to be delivered. Hardly see him on deck. . I love that Jason , he pitches in ( sometimes Sandy too )gets right in there with his crew to pick up some slack. I don’t like lee , so grumpy, Jason has great personality and love how he interacts with everyone. Esp where he can help. I think caps and production should be more aware of what happens on shore on nights off. There should be a limit. It is dangerous , as we found out. Why encourage being drunk. ….is that the only way to have fun. Bad message.
Captain Lee is the worst captain by far! There is no other captain that comes close to his total lack of respect for his crew! You definitely won’t see him helping a crew member out or teaching a member how to do something. In his own words, he’s not a “babysitter “

Every time they go out after a charter they get sooo drunk and crap happens. This in all the below deck shows.

I definitely don’t understand the bravos reasoning for not renewing capt lee’s contract (unless it was a money thing but I doubt it it was that ) . Everyone loves capt Lee! I understand needing to keep things fresh and new but bravo doesn’t get rid of its star players on its shows . And I’ve always been under the impression that he was definitely on that list . 🤷♀️. Maybe it had something to do with his injury.

I am sure Jason is a lovely person. But as a Captain, there is a thin line between himself and his underlings. And that line is drawn by him, yet it is invisible to the staff! And IF they can find it and see it, it's still always blurry, and then it's also constantly moving! I was that kind of boss when I was young (like, 20 years old), and working in a very similar environment! Think Dirty Dancing meets Below Deck, lol! It was amazing fun at that age. But ALL the other Captains know to keep a healthy distance between themselves as Boss and the staff. Let the staff have their fun when off! This is like having one's parents out on the date! That is part of the job! It is why the took the job (especially when on a Bravo show at the same time!), so to take that away from them by hanging out with them one minute, helping out during the day the next, makes everyone's head spin! The chef said it early in this season, but he did NOT! Because he is the BIG Boss! And always right! And so no one forgets THAT.... here's a super embarrassing helmet you MUST wear!!! NO EXCUSES, all night, especially while on camera! It is so you remember to do things MY way or the highway! I found that bit SO wrong!!! I know Bravo doesn't care if it is childish or ridiculous because it helps their ratings! But I found it borderline abusive (and I NEVER use that word for anything unless it is REAL!Like draws blood real.)
Anyway, as long as no one is too insulted and doesn't get sued, whatever! Hopefully, Jason is leaning more to the Bravo side of his career (as much as he pretends he doesn't really care...🙄). And hopefully, none of the crew care and also think it's funny.... but it is NOT something you will find in a book or TED talk about how to be a Great Boss!! After 30 years of being the boss, I am sure of it!
I think Jason is a great boss and a fantastic leader. That was highlighted in his swift, effective response to what happened in episodes 6 and 7. The best leaders can give feedback, hold others to their expectations, and still allow their team to have fun when the time is right. He does all of that and more. I never see him blurring the lines between personal and professional, either.

I think it's partly cultural Australia and New Zealanders tend to be like this as bosses. It can be confusing and disconcerting if you come from many other cultures because Aust/NZ still know how to balance this with their bosses because it's how they interact but other cultures don't seem to have an innate respect for friendly kind bosses they seem to feel you have to be more distant.
Capt lee sits in his wheel room most of the time, waiting for his breakfast to be delivered. Hardly see him on deck. . I love that Jason , he pitches in ( sometimes Sandy too )gets right in there with his crew to pick up some slack. I don’t like lee , so grumpy, Jason has great personality and love how he interacts with everyone. Esp where he can help. I think caps and production should be more aware of what happens on shore on nights off. There should be a limit. It is dangerous , as we found out. Why encourage being drunk. ….is that the only way to have fun. Bad message.
Captain Lee is the worst captain by far! There is no other captain that comes close to his total lack of respect for his crew! You definitely won’t see him helping a crew member out or teaching a member how to do something. In his own words, he’s not a “babysitter “
