Captain Sandy is my sister in law at the moment. Her sister and I are seperated. I can tell you she is authentic. An amazing person to know and witnessed her amazing climb in life. And to add to this she started literally under the boat cleaning the bottom. Worked her way to the top from there. Showed admiral respect to her mentors. Now she is above the deck. Most impressive person I know and admire
That's great, i think her work ethic and the way shes got to her position is admirable. Unfortunately, over the seasons on the show, she has come off badly as a captain to specific crew, almost like a pattern of having it out for the chief stew, making broad assumptions and having double standards. I think thats why a lot of viewers respond badly to her now....
Yes she appears the most relaxed and down to earth here.

Captain sandy has brilliant work ethics, some of the stews dont understand they need to remain seperate from the crew, they are managers and team leaders first! End of.

This is the only franchise out of all of the Bravo shows that my boyfriend will watch because it shows people actually working hard and the fact that it's not scripted.

Reality shows may not be scripted per se, but they definitely have producers manipulating what happens and what is said.
No studio is going to leave the entertainment aspect (and therefore their revenue) of their shows to “what will naturally happen”

It's nice to see all captains come together to talk about their experience being a captain.
I can't see this franchise ever running out. New people, new destinations, always tension and love combined. It'll run as long as The Simpsons.
The US Coast Guard has around 200 women’s Captains graduation every year.
My niece is one of them.

All the captains are great but captain LEE my favourite I loved it a long time ago he brought his wonderful wife on board love to all love from New Zealand 🇳🇿
I had stopped watching BD but when I saw BD Australia and BD Adventure I just had to watch! I hope they never stop making them. I absolutely love the two newest captains, Jason and Kerry. Besides Jason practically being every woman's dream man, he pitches in whenever and wherever needed, he's fair, super nice and polite as you can see here, but he's definitely firm when he needs to be. He genuinely cares about his crew. Captain Kerry is very similar. Super cool, pitches in, keeps his cool when someone's out of line but takes care of business. I wish we could see more of the adventures in BD Adventure because it's so amazing. I can't wait for seasons 2!
I of course have to mention, Captain Sandy. She rocks. I love how she also pitches in, cares for her crew and isn't afraid to step in and point out things that need improving.

The craziest thing about the camera crew there is the time the camera man put his rig down to potentially save that persons life who was in the rope
Ashton was the one that got his foot caught in the line on Below Deck Med. That guy that saved him moved so quickly. Without thought. It was impressive.
I think Andy should create another Below Deck Season, especially for Captain Kate McCue. Maybe Celebrity Cruises would allow Bravo to make a Below Deck: Celebrity Cruises.
Great to find this interview,live captain Jason he gets his hands dirty and helps out the crew in all departments
I enjoy a reality show that's actually reality and not scripted BS. These days I'm not a big T.V. watcher but i find myself addicted to Below Deck and will sit there and binge watch each season.

I've worked in the hotel industry when I first started to work. I saw everything. When you're in a mountain in the middle of a winter. You live and work there. Oh yeah. Anything happens.
We have 4 clear seasons in Norway and hotels hires staff for each season.
I’d watch that show
I’ve been in the hotel industry for a couple decades now. I worked in hotels from Oregon all the way to Palm Beach Florida I’ve checked in hundreds of famous people and could write a book on all of the things that I have seen. Far juicier than the white lotus. Below deck is awesome because I’ve dealt with all of these guests. But the white lotus is the best thing on TV right now .

They need a behind the scenes..where does the Capt bunk...where does the film crew bunk. A full tour of one of the boats etc
There is a room with bunk usually just off the bridge for the captain. The film crew dont stay on the boat and sleep elsewhere and come back on early morning.
In another interview of these captains one said the camera crews switch out. One camera crew sleeps at a hotel while the other is in duty and vice versa.
Captain Lee is the captain of captains.

I looked at the sailing yacht floor plans there are two more cabins than shown in the show. Also in some other shows they have 1. &2. Mate/ engineer who don’t participate in the show. Sometimes the captains quarters and the higher officers are separated. So maybe there is some extra space as well
I seen this question asked and answered on another below deck video the camera crew eat and sleep on a different boat

Unreal to see people born before 1975 still out there working. when all of there peers are long retired. And somehow finding ways to cope and work with 21 st century people.

What? People retire at 65 or later meaning they were born in 1957.
Most 47 yr olds (born in 1975) are still working and are just entering the prime of their careers. All of the men in my family, doctors and lawyers and businessmen worked past 70.

I lost respect for captain lee over keeping Kate but that’s minor, his unacceptable and VOICE over the racism of last season got me. So captain below deck Sandy, Glen and Jason all the way. Can’t wait for adventure! Go below deck!!!🎉

What did Captain Lee do? What do you mean his voice over the racism? Are you referring to the black girl that was acting crazy on there trying to start drama every five minutes? Naptime for that. Was this the episode when she was trying to claim that the cheap looking chief still the top Kate position, the one with the fake teeth & the fake boobs & the fake hair and the big bird head.. I don’t remember her name she just looks ridiculous to me. Are you talking about that episode? The black girl accusing the chief still saying the N-word or some thing? That storyline was so lame.

I agree. Captain Lee easily dismissed people being racist and will always sympathize and give the perpetrators the benefit of the doubt, and Kate could tell a yachty she's not training her cause that would be a privilege that she wasn't granting even after the yachty asked Kate for her help. And what did Lee do? He supported Kate and accused the yachty of lying on her resume, which she did not. I used to like Lee, but he can kick rocks and keep having his wet dreams about Kate.
And by the way, white people always say racism is lame when it's called out cause they always have the numbers and don't have to deal with it.

Neither Sandy nor Lee know how to speak in a businesslike manner. They both tend to say "I'm fucking pissed," which is hardly the sort of speech which produces respect.

Capt Lee...absolutely the worst not only Captain but person. Thinks he knows every freaking thing there is to know about everything. Uses his position to be a Richard.
To be honest, to be a captain of a yacht you should have confidence in what you're doing. I think Cpt. Lee shows good leadership skills. He's not there to be your friend. He's there to command a ship and the respect of the crew.
Try getting your USCG License to Captain an ocean going superyacht...then you can criticize...
