I apologize about the glitch with the internet in the middle of this livestream. IT DOES GET BETTER. If you need to fast forward to when you can hear again, please do. Travel WIFI is always rough, especially in a small town.
@HiddenTrueCrime you will want to ask your roommates not to use the Wi-Fi while you are on it. The Airbnb probably pays for a certain speed and even if it's unlimited once it reaches a certain usage number the speeds slow down . So the guests before you could have used most of the allotted data at the highest speed leaving you to struggle and buffer. A way you can try stop the buffering and regain speed is to try to keep as many other devices off of the Wi-Fi while you are using it. if you have unlimited mobile data on your phone you can tether it to your computer and use the internet from your phone, you will get a better reception as long as your mobile has a lot of bars in your location. Hope this helps good luck
Ever since I was a little girl, my dad always told me if anyone tried to snatch me, to gouge out the eyes, hit in the stomach or kick between the legs. It incapacitates them. A knee to the stomach saved my life once. My arms were immobilized and I remember using all my strength to draw my knee up above me. I was 21. It was terrifying. I can't imagine their fear, as young girls. I think I only came to the realization I could even fight back because I was in the position I was in long enough to desperately critically think of what I could move, how I could move it. The only thing I didn't think of was what to do if it worked. That made the difference between how the altercation ended versus how it could have ended. But all I was thinking was how to get out of this moment, unable to breathe, staring my attacker in the eyes, watching the "fireworks" across my eyes as I could feel my consciousness fading. I remember him getting frustrated, changing the angle of my neck and head with such a weighted drag against the carpeted floor that I felt my skin grate like sandpaper and my jaw popped. In that moment I knew he was intending to end my life. I wanted so much to live. I summoned every last bit of energy I had into my right leg which I realized had no weight on it. His one mistake was putting all the weight on my top half. I knew all I had to do was get my knee up. I bent my knee and inched it up between his legs which were wrapped around my torso. I felt the softness of his belly against my knee and with one whole exhausting movement, I jammed it into his gut. Immediately he released. He puked. And I didn't run. I couldn't. I finally caught my breath, and I enjoyed each breath. Relief. In that moment, my body registered that I was safe. Logically, I wasn't, but I had just survived what felt like forever but what probably wasn't more than a minute, maybe two without oxygen. I don't know how long it was. It felt like forever though. That's the one thing you don't learn about self defence--what you should do when you reach the point of exhaustion but your attacker hasn't. You expend so much energy in those moments. I won't get into what happened after I finally was able to sit up, then stand. That's not the purpose of this comment. The purpose of this comment is just to put it out in the ether that ligatures aren't always necessary to restrain someone. Sometimes our exhaustion restrains us, too. I can't imagine the terror they experienced, but I do have an idea of at least a part of it and whenever I meet other survivors, and others who didn't survive their last battles, my heart breaks. I know many of us think that fighting back is like in the movies, with the slow motion bullets and the quick thinking and parkour, but in my experience and in the experiences of others, we are more focused on surviving instead of fleeing. And all that focus on survival expends the energy we need to run. So sometimes we decide "do I endure this and run later" or "do I fight against this until I can't fight anymore". I remember every second of that night almost ten years later. I constantly go through every step and I endlessly nitpick at everything I did "wrong". The truth is, nothing can prepare you for a fight for your life unless you're trained in combat. I have no advice to give young girls except to aim for the soft spots. Hurt them. Hit them. They forfeited their bodily autonomy the moment they violated yours. You are not obligated to show anyone grace or mercy. They won't listen when you plead. They can't be reasoned with. Words can't combat physical harm. Bite. Claw. Headbutt. Knee. Make note of what you can move from the head down. Find the appendage with the most mobility. Put everything you can into that part. Don't be like me and waste time to catch your breath. You aren't safe until you are somewhere else. All objects can be replaced. Phones can be replaced. Shoes can be replaced. Clothes aren't necessary to wear when your life is in the balance. I know the instinct is to redress. Don't. You will only waste time. You will offend no one. Go to the police. Report it immediately. Do not shower. I know you will want to. And I did. And I regret it with all my soul. I was too afraid to tell. I didn't want to drag my now-husband into it. I didn't want it to loom over our relationship. But when I finally told him, his first question was "why didn't you come to me? We could've gone through it together". And that's the thing I want to tell all survivors: those who love you will go through it with you the very same way they would finish your fight for you if you didnt survive. You are worth fighting for. You are deserving of survival. The only thing that needs to make it out of a harrowing situation is yourself. Not your clothes, belongings, car keys, phone--just you. I guess the point of my comment is to just speak to survivors and relatives of those who didn't survive. Abby & Libby, I know you fought. You did whatever you could in those moments to survive. Even though your fight ended, there are so many who are finishing your fight. Maybe someone will read this and find something valuable in it. Maybe no one will. But there's a reason I survived, so maybe it will help someone else survive, too. Maybe it will help them continue to fight after surviving.
Thank you for sharing! I’m so grateful you survived to help spread awareness to others. Your story alone is saving lives. Keep speaking. Brave girl you are. Your children (present, future, or another’s) are blessed to have you be an someone to look up to and learn from.
Thank-You ‼️ hon I'm sorry for what you've went through,God Bless you hon,And the words you said sounds good and it will help someone and if it's dose than it's worth it 😢 I hope you read this!!!
Bridge guy is a predator who was familiar with the location, he could easily be wearing a disguise, built up boots, wig etc. The girl that said hello to bridge guy said that he had his hands in his pockets and was overdressed for the weather. Exactly what we saw in the video. If anyone reading this is ever in a scary situation like this, sit down, link arms around each other or a fixed object, scream for help and dial your emergency services. Never let a predator take you from where you are. Never believe a word they say. Go for the face like you’re a feral cat. Show them no mercy. We must educate people on what to do if they ever have the misfortune to be targeted by a predator.
Wait do you mean that he had “built up boots” enough to increase his height by 5-6inches? Is that possible?? How did he make himself look young and in his 30s?
Thank you. My heart just dropped when you spoke about how Abby and Libby realized and said theres no path. How can anyone do this to anyone let alone children 😢
Agree absolutely heartbreaking. 💔 Abby was playful in the audio though. There appears to not be a threat on the bridge as we were lead to believe. Were they meeting someone under the bridge ?
Great Coverage, Lauren. In regards to teaching children to scream and fight back: I still remember to this day my dad telling me to scream and fight if anyone ever threatened me. He said don't ever let anyone take you away, if they threaten to kill you, make them kill you there! They will most likely chicken out or if they hurt you, someone will find you and get you help. I still think of this advice if I'm out alone at night (which isn't often, if it's dark I'm home with the cats). I only go out if I'm with friends. These girls were innocents and didn't deserve this. They had their whole life ahead of them and could have done amazing things and had a huge positive impact on others.
Your father taught you well. Unfortunately there may not have been anyone close enough to the girls that day to help them. They were at the far, isolated end of a bridge few people go on.
@@Whyusemynamewell yes but it’s based on engagement and she isn’t a huge creator so she has to pay for her travel and hope she earns enough to help support her expenses.
Lauren, thank you so much for doing this for us. Thanks also to Dr John, for holding the fort at home, while you do this. You are both appreciated so very much. ❤❤
I wish they would have taken off running and screaming! So sad! 2 young girls should not be out in a place like that with no one else around. The mall would have been a better choice, or wherever kids hang out there. 😢
I wonder what law enforcement would say the best way to handle such a situation. I think they say don’t go with an abductor. But does that mean they should have just stood together and said no?
Libby took a video of the guy and it still took law enforcement years to find this guy, knowing Richard Allen was on the bridge that day😡😡 🤷♀️🤷♀️ Talk about one of the worst investigations in history😤 I honestly don’t know how these families and the citizens in Delphi haven’t gone completely MAD‼️
@@HeadNtheCloudsyou can’t start blaming the victims or the parents for what this monster did. They were two very responsible tween/teens who went to an absolute beautiful park to walk and enjoy nature. People like you have a lot of nerve.
This is so horrible. My sisters and I were taught at a young age to never go with a stranger, even if they have a weapon. Our mom said, if they're going to kill you, they're going to have to do it right there, where they don't want to. You fight, scream, kick, run but anything to not be taken somewhere else. I hope more kids are taught that
How on earth do you manage to take such incredibly detailed notes, especially when you are seeing/hearing horribly disturbing evidence that would just stun a lot of people? It's almost as if we get to be in the courtroom! Well done--it's another incredibly heartbreaking case (there are so many, and many get so little publicity, unfortunately), and, so far, so confusing. I have so many questions about what/how it happened, and so far you've given the best coverage among all of the videos I've watched.
Ive worked in Law enforcement for over 30 years now and I taught my children that if anyone ever tries to take you away you Fight and scream as loud as you can "I dont know you" until you can't fightor scream anymore (we would practice this when young because especially my daughter was a quiet, soft spoken person and still is.) then go limp. If you are taken from where you are your chances of living drop dramatically! If they are going to kill you make them do it where you are as it's likely around more people who's attention you will get! And make yourself as limp as a ragdoll! Moving you will be extremely hard and most will realize it's not worth it due to the attention and the work involved. I also taught my children very young that there is no reason an adult would ever ask a child for help. Help finding a lost pet etc. I would ask my children "if you needed real help would you ask a child smaller than you or someone bigger? That made sense to them. Also very young my children were told if they ever were to become lost to find a Mommy to ask for help. Sadly, it's not the safest but in my opinion it was the best choice. It never happened because they were never out of my sight. All of this was taught using age appropriate words as they grew up. Of course you dont was to terrorize your child...but a bit of fear of strangers is not a bad thing. These 2 girls did the best they could! They likely are the reasons this was even solved. I pray for them and their families. I cannot begin to imagine all they continue to go thru. Something like this does not end. Yhere is no closure. Justice? Hopefully. But not closure. Keep your children as safe as you can. There are animals pretending to be humans who will take them from you. Stay safe everyone!
It’s so strange. Even with a gun for control. They may have had nowhere to go but they went ‘down the hill’. Slid down? Slide down and run! This is the message that needs to be heard. Take the risk…don’t comply.
It hasn’t been solved yet, though. Still waiting on the state to present all the evidence, the defense to argue any and all reasonable doubts, and most importantly for the jury deliberations to begin and end. But, i know what you mean. Such a scary world we’re in. From all sides. Hope justice will be served for these sweet little girls
Thank you for talking the time to write all that out, and I especially appreciate that it's in a way that makes sense to a child. I hope those with children all use these tips ❤
@@1hourdryfloors786 🤷♀️ whoever "did it" SOMEONE did it. None of this OP comment mentioned a name or anything worth objecting to. I literally went to reread it after seeing your comment. I don't want a thread about teaching children how to stay safe to be hijacked with vacillating about whoever is facing charges right now, and whether or not they did whatever they're alleged to have done. SOMEONE did a thing. WHOEVER did it, it happened. Libby and Abby responded as they did. This person is suggesting tips for children to try to keep children safe. They're all solid advice. Is wanting justice to be served a bad thing somehow?? *True justice is about the actual perpetrator facing consequences.* Not about whoever they finger just as long as someone gets found guilty it's all good. Can we get back on topic *of this thread* now please?
I so very much appreciate your coverage (& especially your lack of bias!) I have been so very emotionally invested in this case since the start. I have great admiration for your stamina! I’m in Australia, so I’ve been waking up around 3am the last few mornings to catch your lunchtime livestreams- I’m exhausted, yet I’m only losing a little bit of sleep, nothing like what you’re experiencing!!!
I have been following this case for seven years and I’m so grateful that I found your channel. I’ve been watching all of your other true crime. Thank you for taking time away from your family to do this service for all of us.
My heart goes out to everyone in the courtroom that has those photos burned into their memory. And of course. The parents. No parent should see such photos of their baby.
@@DKilgallen So true, that has to be the worst pain a parent can feel! And, probably never will go away! I will do my best to instill in my grandchildren to run and scream. Don’t surrender! They could have outrun the bridge guy. My heart is broken for all the families and friends that are devastated by this🥲
@@carolynwright3026 If he threatened them with a gun, they definitely couldn't outrun bullets and were probably trying to comply in hopes he'd eventually let them go. Sadly, he didn't. They didn't do anything wrong and none of this is their fault in any way.
@@m0L3ifyHe’s innocent until proven guilty in court. At least that’s how it’s supposed to be. These days idky even bother with court and everything because soon as an arrest is made everyone just assumes someone is guilty without evidence and a trial.
Yea it sucks but necessary, those should be publicly available to the rest of us too. We NEED to be able to see the crime scene and the rest of the evidence, this judge is a tyrannical fool trying to get this case retried if he’s convicted, it makes me wonder if she’s been threatened and trying hard to be as horrible as possible to get kicked off the case…she’s just awful!
Lauren, I truly enjoy watching your work, u have so much love & respect that we literally watch you pour not only into the cases but also the families you deal with. Thanks so much to you & Dr. John for sharing 💜
Thank you so much Lauren for keeping us up to date on this case. This is such a sad case. I really wish the girls could have gotten away. Take care of yourself Lauren and get some rest.
Thank you so much for updating us. I live in Indianapolis, 60 miles from Delphi. Without you most of us wouldn’t be able to know how the trial is going.

Awesome work Lauren. I don’t know how you do it! All day in court with such attention to detail and then to think you have to camp out at night to get into the courthouse the next day. This is the best coverage i have watched. There are a lot of great details. I do wish we could watch it live. I have been following this case since 2016.
Abby and Libby were ambushed that day…I feel that was by design..bless their darling hearts 💕…Libby was so incredibly brave to gather the valuable evidence that she did, I think her way of thinking explains how the phone ended up in the shoe under Abby, the brave, curious, forensic and tenacious way Libby’s mind worked, explains a lot, this courageous act can’t get lost in the noise…at some point, one of those darling girls was alive without the other, that is the terrible reality of what happened to them…thank goodness for professionals like you, thank you for continuing what Libby started xx 🥰
I know, the Thot of one of the girls, watching the other being murdered and being helpless to do anything while also knowing the same thing was going to happen to them. It really is such a heartbreaking situation to think of 2 young girls barely in their teens being in this situation and being and feeling so scared, helpless and alone. Just utter despair 😢. I'm 46 yrs old and it terrifies me when I put myself in their position,!! It makes my blood run cold ,my body tense up and I fill up with complete terror. I can't even begin to imagine what it felt like for 2 innocent and vulnerable young girls who were still basically kids. It's horrific in every way .😢..
You did a great job as always. No apologies needed for internet issues. I would gladly listen to you if you were sitting in the dark! Thanks again for being there ❤
Watching the Replay. I just want to let you know that the audio was fine all the way through for me. The video was freezing and such, but no problem. I think it is a great idea that one of your Mods Petty Mason (Deb) sent out messages regarding this. I think if Mods will start out with that and continue, maybe people will not keep commenting about it to you while you are doing your BEST. I can say that your presentation was GOOD for me. It is not the same as being at home. THANK YOU so much for all of the very difficult, long hours work you are doing for all of us. it is much appreciated. ❤❤❤
Thank you Lauren. This is so very sad and just tragic. So thank you again for reporting and leading us through the steps to JUSTICE for those sweet babies.
Thinking about this. Richard Allen said he was there but there are no eye witnesses saying they saw him there. Not one person said, I saw Richard Allen. No one. But there are several eye witnesses who saw bridge man. And the eye witnesses couldn't say it was Richard Allen because he was so intentionally covered up. So, if Richard Allen is saying he was there, how come no one saw him? This is because he has to be bridge man. He was there, walking around with his head and face covered and wearing bulky clothes. If he wasn't and he had no hat or face coverings, one of the eye witnesses would have recognized him directly and would have said in court or whatever, that is the man I saw. Unless there are more witnesses to come. He placed himself there because he thought someone might have recognized him and said he was there. But if he was there and he is NOT bridge man, then how come not one person saw HIM? He has to be bridge man. And bridge man is the killer. My theory and thoughts only.
I agree....h explained it perfectly..I just can't understand how some people doing get it...he admitted he was there on the bridge and witnesses saw him so it dsnt take a genius to figure out he is bridge guy. That's the last thing those poor girls were able to do is video the killer..there's nothing else to argue. Richard Allen is bridge guy and he looks just like the video
Your ability to take such good notes & recall so much detail always amazes me! God bless you! So none of the witnesses ever said, “Yeah, the guy I saw was the man sitting in court today, Richard Allen.” What?!
The Prosecution is showing that they saw One man on the bridge, near the same time the girls were seen. The girls place bridge guy there, along with RAs own admission of being there. More to come.
hopefully the defense will dress him us the same way BG is dressed with a scarf over his face and everything. lol, never gonna happen and we all know why🤣🤣
I could go to any news cast. And they will report well. But! I will not get the caring and detail report you are giving out. It takes hard work and dedication. To me. You are a truth seeker. You take patience and kindness and give us a great report. ❤
This is so very disturbing and sad. Thank you for being present during this case. It must have been very hard for you. I am trying to think of what I would do as an adult in this moment. It’s pretty hard due to the isolated spot. But I hope I would actually wield my phone and tell the man that I was on FB live so his face is out there for the world to see if he does anything.
Thank you for these videos. Abby & Libby deserve to have their story told and you’re doing just that in a very respectful way. I know it’s difficult & I appreciate your commitment. Abby & Libby feel like my cousins from Indiana at this point. I feel like I know them because I’ve watched this case so closely. Thank you again
Yes! I keep wondering the same thing. With the changing of clothes, etc, there was no way to hide it. The bodies were placed in a certain manner. The phone had to have been placed as well. The phone should have the killers fingerprints. I wish we knew more.

Never ever go where they demand.

Thank you. My heart just dropped when you spoke about how Abby and Libby realized and said theres no path. How can anyone do this to anyone let alone children 😢

100% Agree
All children should be taught this, it’s also a great reminder for adults too!
Children should not be allowed to scream bloody murder when their playing then you don't know if it's real or play .

I wish they would have taken off running and screaming! So sad! 2 young girls should not be out in a place like that with no one else around. The mall would have been a better choice, or wherever kids hang out there. 😢
There were people around, hence, the witnesses that saw "bridge guy" that day
I wonder what law enforcement would say the best way to handle such a situation. I think they say don’t go with an abductor. But does that mean they should have just stood together and said no?
Libby took a video of the guy and it still took law enforcement years to find this guy, knowing Richard Allen was on the bridge that day😡😡 🤷♀️🤷♀️

This is so horrible. My sisters and I were taught at a young age to never go with a stranger, even if they have a weapon. Your mama was right.
Replay crew: Glitching clears @ 39:49 Thank you so much. You are going through a lot to get this info to us.

Those poor girls. They must have been so terrified. How horrible.
