Hello Friends! I hope this video was helpful, I would love to know what do you do with Blessed salt? Here is a blog I wrote about blessed salt if you want to check it out, God Bless acatholicmomslife.com/how-to-use-blessed-salt/
Hi Heather, placing a tiny bit of blessed salt on my tongue before talking to my extended family. Lol or when I see I’m getting a bit crabby. I don’t want my words to hurt other people. I keep a small jar in my kitchen. But I have a huge bucket of blessed salt! Yes I cook with it.
I drop off a Costco size olive oil, sea salt, a gallon of water and candles at my local parish office to have blessed a couple times per year. I never miss adding blessed salt to my daily cooking. Once in awhile I give my teen blessed water to drink especially when he’s sick with a fever.
@@CatholicMailman Any Priest can do the blessing in the traditional Latin Blessing. They don't have to be a TLM priest. All one need do is ask for a specific blessing - bless this or please do the exorcism rite blessing on this. They don't exorcise oils for us though that is reserved for confirmation and anointing the sick.
Hi I poured some Blessed Salt around the 4corners of my property to keep the Evil Spirits out while praying Special Prayers for this. God Bless you for this!!!✌️
Thanks for the video. I have used blessed salt for work meetings and conversations that might be challenging by placing on my tongue right before and say a St. Michael prayer.
Yes ! Just like holy water there’s three types. Holy/blessed, epiphany salt/water and exorcism salt/water. The epiphany is coming up early next year. You can have any parish priest bless your salt/water and your home for an epiphany blessing. I was directed by my priest to use a pinch in the four corners of my room/house once a week.
Placing some at your job helps a lot, especially if there is negativity within coworkers. I placed some around the yard if my son’s new home, to protect from evil spirits and people.
Thank you so much for sharing this! My husband just had a great recommendation of sprinkling blessed salt by the cockpit and by your seat when you are boarding a plane. I'd feel much better flying on a plane after doing that!
@@tatianasouza2361 Where have you ever been given exorcised oil? It is used only during confirmation and anointing the sick - I was informed that only a blessing may be done on the oils not the exorcism rite.
I gave blessed salt to a woman who was going through a very difficult time and whose husband was practicing witchcraft. She sprinkled it around her bedroom. Two nights later, her husband lit a candle at midnight in a satanic ritual and the house burned down. She miraculously woke up and survived.
Hi heather, can you please make a video on prayers and novenas to do when someone passes away? I’m not sure what the Catholic traditions are. Thank you ❤
May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. -Amen The seven sorrows of Mary novena is perfect for grieving. The book of Job is powerful as well.
Don’t forget to Offer Mass intention for the deceased, especially in the first 30 days, on death anniversary and of course anytime of the year. It’s the most effective but you should be there during Mass.
It depends on what the priest says in the blessing. Many priests just say Blessed in the name of the Father, Son, Holy Ghost & make Sign of Cross. Traditional priests will put an exorcism blessing in salt & a St. Benedict medal. He will specifically mention warding off Satan. If he does not, that protection is not there. Palm & Olive branches on Palm Sunday have God's Mercy descend upon them, made a figure of The Church to go forth in good works, triumph, prepare way of Faith & Justice, remove scandal. Olive branches are given power of spiritual unction & Peace. There is a book of specific, different blessings & power given to candles, rosaries, statues. That is where the accusation of magic comes in. Well, magic is not asking God's Will, leaving God out, invoking materialism, ego, even demons. Catholic is Jesus Christ's power.
In one of the church near us they have the morton salt container already blessed you can take as many as you want and yes you can make a free will donation if you want Thank you Heather
I totally agree ❤ what is the difference between blessed salt and holy water sprinkled everywhere? The same idea/ meaning? Thank you ❤God bless you ❤❤❤🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks for sharing all the applications for blessed salt. We were told to put some in the four corners of each room (assuming a rectangular/square room). Had not heard of putting on sills and floor near doors.
Coming from a secular background I hope my kids aren’t “salty” lol😅 I just recently had I guess a deeper conversion at the beginning of this year, still navigating everything(not gonna bother you with my whole life story lol) but I still think things in my secular ways from time to time and I couldn’t help but chuckle a little bit at kids being “salty” because secularly we always attributed being “salty” to like being like angry or bitter over something. I have to like train my brain still.
Usually priests offer the annual blessing of homes during epiphany. Becuase there is a specific blessing given each year on epiphany. Also if anything has happened in your home involving mortal sin or the demonic, it would make sense to ask a priest to come back again. You can always bless your own home regularly with holy water and salt in order to help with smaller issues.
Thank you for the video. It is the first time I hear about blessed salt. I feel a bit self-conscious about asking the local priest to bless it. Can he refuse to bless it? Is a priest obligated to bless the religious items that we take to him for a blessing? Would you know where it says on writing (in the Cathechism, for example) about the blessing of religious items? Sorry for the questions but I don't know any priest well enough and I fear a reprimand on his part. Many thanks.
The priests all have what's called the Book of Blessings. They have specific prayers for many things, like the excorsism blessing for salt. They use exorcised salt to bless holy water for the Easter water every year so yes they are all familiar with it also. If they do house blessings, which all should do, they always exorcise salt and bless water in order to carry that out.
I have a question for whomever can answer: my husband and I are in the process of converting and are studying the catechism, etc… we bought rosaries and I know you’re supposed to get them blessed but he says “we aren’t catholic yet so I doubt they will. And they probably wont let us have holy water.” Does anyone know what they will and won’t allow us to… participate… in?
@@ACatholicMomsLife got our rosaries blessed today at our first mass ever. It was such an amazing experience 🥹 thank you for the response, otherwise I would have been too scared to ask!

I know that when you consecrate to Mary you give her everything but I was wondering if you explain more if you know, like in prayers and in stuffs.
I was given a rosary purchased in the gift shop at the Vatican, supposedly blessed by the Pope - my friend who gave it to me purchased it at the gift shop so since money was exchanged when she purchased it is it still blessed????
Does anyone know if it’s alright to use blessed pink himilayan salt? A friend at Church gave it to me, but I’m reluctant to use it because I’ve heard there are New Aged/pseudo science roots to himilayan salt. Thanks in advance! 🙏
We use Himilayan salt. We get those big tubs from Costco and have the priest say exorcism prayers over it, (not because we are worried about the salt, but because we have found exorcised salt is more powerful).
Ask a different priest. There is a blessing for grapes and first fruits of the harvest in the book of blessing. This is traditionally done for centuries on the feast of the transfiguration. Additionally the salt shouldn't be in the same category as the grapes in your priests mind if he was just unaware of that tradition. Priests must exorcise salt every Easter in order to bless the holy water (Easter water). Also if they do house blessings, which they all should do, they exorcise salt to bless the water and bless the house. If they refuse this you should write to the bishop. And also find another priest to do it.
Strange, my priest happily blessed all of these things. You may have to go to the nearest church to have another priest bless them (I understand that may be far, depending on where you live)
How is this different or better than just praying over your house, car, kids room etc? Im genuinely asking to understand. The power lies with God so I dont understand how the physical salt has any effect. Thanks if you can answer.
Sacramentals (blessed salt, holy water, etc) connect the natural with the supernatural. And they are an outward sign of your inner faith. So I do both prayers and Sacramentals.
If you don't not have or cannot get blessed sacramentals, definitely do all the blessings yourself. You have authority over your home and family. However, if you can get them, they are powerful because they have Jesus' blessing. Above and beyond our own personal prayer, Sacramentals are kind of like relics of saints. Relics are explained by this given example: the woman cured of hemorrhaging in the Bible. By merely touching the tassel of Jesus cloak she was healed. Or the apostles in Acts when people are healed by their shadows passing by. These are just some biblical examples, but blessing sacramentals are even different in a respect that she explains is the priest acts in persona Christi, meaning when they put on their stole and bless or forgive, as Jesus said of the apostles, what you forgive on earth is forgiven in heaven, what you bind on earth is bound. He delegated this authority to the apostles who hand it down, through the laying of hands, to all our bishops and priests in apostolic succession traced back to the men who walked the earth with Jesus himself. So the priests forgiveness in confession is actually that of Jesus, and the priests blessing of people and objects is that of Jesus. That is what makes his prayer, and his sacramentals more powerful than our own prayers.kind of like relics of saints. It is a Really Good Question - The Water, the Salt the Oil have no power on their own they are inanimate objects - creations of the Lord - However when a Priest Bishop or Pope places a Blessing on something such as a medal or salts then where that something goes the blessing goes or where that something stands in place the blessing stands in place. This is why if something is sold that is blessed the blessing is automatically removed because the buying and selling of blessings is an outrage to the Lord. So there are different types of blessings by the Priest - He may simply say Lord bless this item in the name of the Fr Son Holy Spirit and that is it - and it is blessed. Then there are solemn blessings which are referred to as exorcised blessing and this blessing is in depth removing all evil properties from the item and placing a blessing on it that no evil may molest. Any priest can do this. You and I cannot bless the home but we can ASK God to bless it where as the Priest can Bless it or the Deacon. They can say "I Bless this home or item......." You Say "Lord please bless this home or item" As a Parent you have authority over your child so you can say "I bless you in the name of the Fr S HS etc...." But you cannot do this over another person. God reserves the power of certain blessings to the ordained. When placing the salt in your home for protection you simply ask God "Please protect my home or Please bless my home" The Priest has put the blessing on the salt so where the salt goes the blessing resides and so technically you could just place it there and say nothing. Does that help?
I’m not sure about that. I mean what salt is 100% pure that comes from the ocean or anywhere else for that matter? We had blessed table salt in the house growing up and it was just regular store brand stuff.
If you want your sacramentals (rock salt, water and olive oil) to be more effective, take and bless them to a exorcist priest. Your sacramentals would become holy and exorcist hth :)
