Please be wary of fundamentalism and intolerance in your practice of faith. My family has decades of Catholics have no issue with birth control, or the ability to conceive children in whatever manner is possible. Even the pope admits that there’s some aspects of Catholicism that need to be modified to adopt a changing world. No one should be forced to stay in a miserable abusive marriage. A good priest will admit the same, they certainly wouldn’t want their own family to be in miserable marriages or childless because they felt it would make them a lesser Catholic.

I was raised in new age household, I was having demonic attacks from the devil, then because of mercy of God I became catholic, it was a real struggle, because then the demonic attacks got worse because the more close I was to God, the more were the evil spiritual realm against me. Now I try to live like a catholic woman, I still suffer from some kind of demonic attacks but my Mother in heaven, the blessed Virgin Mary always helps me. I know from my own experience how much the devil hates rosary. Keep praying the rosary! Her immaculate heart will triumph. Especially if you or your families were involved in new age stuff. Mary is the one who crushes the head of the serpent. I felt like I should share this little testimony. Have a blessed day ladies❤

You can bless your home with Holy Water all while praying the rosary or the St. Michael, "I bless my home in the Name of the Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit" . Sprinkle the Holy Water in a cross shape in 3's with the Sign of the Cross. Go out every door, bless the thresholds, the doors, every corner of every room. Claim your home for Christ Jesus.

The Holy Mother is such a good Mama to us!!! I was a New Ager too, for 30+ years, and I know exactly what you mean re: demonic attacks once you try to pry yourself away from all of it and enter the Church. I always felt consoled, though, because I heard a priest say once that if Satan knows you're his, there's no reason for him to attack you. It's when he feels like he's losing his grip on you that the attacks become more vicious. The Rosary is the greatest spiritual weapon we have, according to many of the great saints.

I had a very bad experience with a priest (not abuse, but lousy advice) and I have not wanted to even try again until recently. There is a thing about the Pope. The Pope is just a man/human. We are supposed to follow the 10 Commandments, Number 1 is we LOVE god. God is found in the WORD, scripture. We've had terrible Popes and Holy Popes but they should NOT "instill fear" or close the Fathers House/churches. This is NOT God's plan. "God is NOT a Man that He should lie."

Truth be told, if you are Protestant and agree with Catholics then you are basically a Catholic and should receive confirmation and the Holy Spirit the way Acts of the Apostles describes with the bishop laying in of his hands to give you the seal of redemption. If you believe in the Sacraments and that Jesus is the Eucharist with the bread and wine becoming his body and blood then you are not a Protestant by definition because without the Sacraments us Catholics have nothing to sustain us with grace and give us grace.

Hi, as a faithful Protestant for over 40 years and now a convert to Catholicism, I used to believe that we could be united. Please know that I don’t mean to offend but on this side of things, I understand why it’s not possible. We can be loving towards one another but will never be united as Catholics and Protestants. There is the Eucharist and all it is believed to be for these 2,000 years , that separates us. Worship is so vastly different in the Catholic Church. There is truth in Protestantism but not the fullness of the faith. As a Protestant I never understood that.
I read the early church fathers and other books on Church history. The book that solidified my understanding was called, The Great Heresies by Hilaire Belloc and his continuation of that book, Survival and New Arrivals.
Every Christian should read at least his first book.
      God bless you.

Heather, I cannot begin to thank you enough for this video. I’m Catholic and I recently signed up for a yoga class with some college friends that starts next month. I thought that as long as I’m not having the intent of worshiping anything, it would be okay, although it was bothering me a bit. I didn’t bother looking into it to be on the safe side. Then your video came out. It really spoke to me and convicted me. I was going in to confession today anyway and decided to ask the priest about the class. I asked him if it’s okay to do the poses if you aren’t actually worshiping other gods.
His response - “How can it be wrong to give the nazi salute in the middle of a synagogue if your intent is not racism?”
Needless to say, I unregistered from the class immediately when I got home. I feel like I just dodged a bullet and feel so much better now! I believe the Holy Spirit was working through you to get that message out. Thank you! I will pray for you and this channel. Your sister in Christ ❤🙏

Thanks very much for sharing your informed and committed faith! Unfortunately, many Catholics are confused by our articles of faith and practice; I met a man in church today and I explained that I wanted to go to confession because I had fallen out of Grace so I couldn't take Communion until I had confessed my sin, and he looked as though he didn't know what I meant. I explained that to take communion while knowingly in a condition of mortal sin is ANOTHER mortal sin in itself, and he said "and I'm a Catholic and I didn't even know that!"
To say that he looked stunned at that point is putting it mildly!
My priest had explained to me that the requirement to abstain from Communion (which all true Christians ardently desire to partake of) while in a sinful condition reminds us to avoid falling from Grace, and I have really seen how this works! I very much want to take Communion, especially during Holy Week! God bless and protect you and your family!

I am a cradle Catholic and in my past was guilty of all of these things, and more. It was after I had my children and wanted to raise them in Christ, and started faithfully taking them to church, praying on a regular basis, reading the children's bible to them, trying to learn more about the Catholic faith, that I experienced demonic activity in our home that lasted for months. Hell is very real my friends. I had been following what the world told me was normal, but not what God wanted for me. It was a terrifying, but very eye opening experience, and I am grateful for it, as it has changed my life. I know that all things new age/occult are really trending right now like Tarot cards and the like, but please please stay away from these things. Look for God to guide you, seek him and ask him questions, build a relationship with him, not things like numerology, readings or the stars, not even when they are under the guise of "angels."

My husband and I were blindsided by #1 a couple of months ago. Even our marriage prep class didn't mention it. We already have 4 kids, so we thought we were done and the use of a physical barrier every now and again was fine. We were so distraught over the potential for having more kids at this point in our lives that we actually considered leaving the church. The next morning we woke up and both had the same feeling of calm seemingly out of nowhere. God had let us know that everything would be ok if we follow Him. And since then we have shifted our whole perspective on life it seems. It is a beautiful thing to take a step back and willingly participate in God's will.

Totally agree on everything, I do the same. Especially NO yoga. Some of the postures depict nature but some are also meant to worship a deity, so in essence you would be breaking the very first commandment - “I am the LORD your God; you shall not have strange gods before me.” Also, as a Catholic woman, I don’t watch R rated movies or read books that describe sexual encounters or severe violence. Even some PG-13 movies can be a bit much - sad. I always remember that what our eyes see/read/hear, so does our Lords. I will not subject Him to that or Our Lady. Have a blessed day!

I notice pretty quickly if it´s something with bad taste. It is a bit like if you change your diet from trash, fast-food to a healthy diet of home-made food, you just cannot bare to go back to eat the fast-food anymore. It turns your stomach around. The same it is with everything from the world. Still we need to be understanding with those that do not have this fine calibrated instrument. In fact Scott says that it was while his wife was researching on the Pro-life issue, whike they were still Protestants that they became convinced to stop* using artificial birth control understanding that blocking life was a violation of the Covenant with GOD ✝️✝️
I have to say coming in from the outside that I *LOVE* being a Catholic! It's been the most beautiful and profound part of my Christian walk. I love that we have *Rules* to guide us so everyone isn't just making up their own stuff and creating chaos which isn't conducive to a deepening relationship with Christ.💙💙💙

I read on catholic answers that as long as I'm not using it primarily for the birth control function, it's fine, since I'm disabled for a week out of the month without it, but I want to learn to handle it the catholic way. Perhaps a better question to ask is: why such a great attachment to yoga? One of the cardinal virtues is prudence. Is putting our soul in danger worth momentary pleasure? Jesus said "follow me". Jesus also called us to die to self, any attachment, yoga or otherwise that prevents us from being 100% or that opens a door to evil is something to look at.

Great video! Thank you for having the courage to talk about not participating in yoga. It's great you added resources for information. I loved your video on preparing for Holy Week ahead of time, so you can be mindfully present and not distracted during the Triduum. I use to do this when our kids were younger. Your video was a great reminder, so I'm using this week to prepare and then can be mindfully present at the Triduum services and not distracted by anything else. Thanks 😊

Heather, this video came at the absolute perfect time for me- my 10 year old daughter just asked me about the ouija board, and our discussion about that led to talking about yoga. After explaining why Catholics shouldn’t do yoga, I advised her that if she’s ever in a group setting (gym class, for example) and they are instructed to do a yoga stretch, she should not do that stretch, and say a Hail Mary in her heart. I’d be interested to know how you or others here would handle similar situations.

My brother was actually in that situation: They would do yoga at the beginning of each gym class at school. My brother was very worried about that. So he went up to the teacher and told him that for religious reasons he couldn't do that. The teacher accepted it (my mother had to write a note confirming it) and now while the other in class are doing yoga he was told by the teacher to do other exercises

My children attended a Catholic school all throughout their education, it is sadly in the curriculum that they do yoga. I went in with my Cathechism of the Catholic Church and explained the reasons why they should not be engaging in it. They refused to stop, I had to tell my children to pray St Michael the Archangel prayer and then continue with their other prayers till it was done. After my children graduated, I was still volunteering, they added chymes and gongs.

Amen! ❤ Thank you Heather for speaking the truth about yoga and the occult! ❤🙏
I am not Catholic (yet?) but I can testify from my own experience with yoga.
It is indeed a hindu worship ritual - no matter ones intention, it is very real.
I had NO interest or intention for hinduism, I was just "innocently" dabbling in different kinds of new age practices that seemed "harmless" and "helpful", including yoga.
I was not taking spiritual things seriously at all - I thought if I didn't "believe" in something, I would not be affected by it. How wrong I was...
When doing yoga I suddenly became possessed by a hindu deity that I do not even want to mention by name - but what happened was I had what they call a "kundalini awakening". This is very dangerous, and even the hindu yoga gurus warn about this (and are probably shaking their heads at western clueless and reckless ways of practicing yoga).
It happened very suddenly and lead me to "fall in love" with that demon-deity, longing to be united with it, having visions and mystical experiences with it, and finding myself looking up images of it for me to worship 💔
Having had NO interest in it AT ALL before this happend!
It was essentially a hellish kind of spiritual psychosis.
But there was noone who could help me - the doctors and psychiatrists that I sought help from said I was not clinically psychotic, as I was completely aware of and in touch with reality, so there was nothing they could do to help me.
I found a buddhist psychiatrist online who had experienced a "kundalini awakening" herself, who offered advice and knowledge and support... She said there was NO WAY to reverse this "process" and NO way to heal!!!
Except - SHE DIDN'T KNOW JESUS!!!
One day I found a testimony on youtube of a woman who had been experiencing demonic attacks, who had been rescued by Jesus! So, I tried calling on Him...
Even though I didn't believe in Him - I was desperate to try anything!
And... LITERALLY THE MOMENT I CRIED OUT TO HIM - HE CAME - and the demons literally vanished into puffs of smoke and were instantly GONE!!!
From that moment my eyes were opened and I was overcome with awe and wonder...
Suddenly I KNEW JESUS CHRIST IS GOD AND LORD OVER ALL - and - God is our FATHER!!!
I was not alone anymore... I was protected and cared for by the God of the Universe!
I may have experienced evil worse than I would ever had been able to imagine before it happened to me - but now I know that evil is NOTHING and it has NO power compared to OUR GOD AND LORD!
For anyone reading this, PLEASE be careful, please be warned, but also, please DO NOT FEAR - just keep close to JESUS and rely on Him for everything, and you will be safe ❤🙏❤

I think you have a beautiful faith and I'm so grateful for that. As a devout Protestant Christian and the wife of a military chaplain for 30 years I did want to mention to you that there are millions of Christians all over the world that have deeply devout and devotional relationships with Jesus Christ without adhering to or even believing in Catholicism. Each of us practice our own spiritual and devotional disciplines, our own worship, adhere to holy communion, study scripture, prayer, fasting and service to others as well as personal sacrifices such as abstaining from something in particular for a prescribed period of time. We also adhere to the admonishments found in the scripture with regards to worldly behaviors and spiritual darkness. Examining our hearts and our motives daily is one that I rigorously adhere to. But as you pointed out, we are not ordered by the church to do these in any particular order or regiment. Contrary to one of your comments, it is pretty common for Protestant women to seek God in prayer when deciding on whether or not to have more children. It is wonderful that you believe so fully in Catholicism. It is clear to me that that is where God has placed you and your faith is an encouragement to so many. Thank you for sharing your truths. Although we don't have the same faith background, I deeply respect yours and want to encourage you in return to keep fighting the good fight. Thank you for allowing me the time to share this little bit of Protestant Christianity with you.

This is a very charitable comment. However there is no such thing as "your truths", there is only The Truth, which is Jesus Christ. He founded His Church and sent the Spirit of Truth to guide it. We must not fall away from His Church because if we do, we fall away from the Truth.

Raised Catholic before Vatican two. Well educated in the strictest teachings of Catholicism. So much that I was taught was illogical, contradictory, and deeply hurtful to my soul. Much of the time they had nothin ng to do with the teachings of Christ, but rather what the men with power in the church wanted. I hear that in much of what you are saying. I appreciate that you are describing what your church teaches, and that in this video you aren't shaming in the way the nuns were in my schools. If it works for you, that's none of my business. But it is sad and worrying to me how certain you are that the Catholic church is the only true way. In an era when so many people, including fundamentalist people who identify as Christian, are forcing themselves on others, this is a slippery slope. It's easy to lose sight of what Jesus taught when focusing on what specifics the church condemns.

Re meat on Friday: current canon law requires abstinence from meat only on Fridays in Lent, including Good Friday (which is actually part of the Paschal Triduum, not Lent, which officially ends before the Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper), and Ash Wednesday. Abstinence from meat is not required outside of Lent, although we are enjoined to observe some kind penitential act on Friday.
An amusing side note on abstinence is that the Archbishop of New Orleans has ruled that Catholics may licitly eat alligator on days of abstinence (alligator tail is a delicacy in Louisiana).
Note that many Catholics overachieve by abstaining even from chicken or beef broth on days of abstinence. Canon law does not actually require this. You may use chicken broth to make fish or vegetable soup on Lenten Fridays.

That’s not necessarily true about Protestants and missing church! Please don’t lump us all together with some who may just see it as community! We never miss church (unless very sick) and we cherish Holy Communion. Not going to church for some random reason is not an option for us or most of my church family. I have Catholic family members who have had multiple marriages, lived together outside of marriage, only occasionally attend church, but I know they are not devote practicing Catholics, I don’t believe all Catholics are like that and would not say they were. I highly respect you because you live your faith and practice with your whole heart. Please know that Protestants do too. However, I was never taught that it was a sin to miss a Sunday service. I think what Heather is trying to point out is that in the Catholic Church, missing mass is a mortal sin. It’s not that protestants do not take attending church services seriously, it’s just that they don’t potentially bring damnation to their soul if they miss a service.

    • @wordforever117

I was a priest in training with the Anglican church, I am now a Catholic Lay Marist. Studying towards a phd in Theology. I have a big interest in challenging misconceptions of Protestants regarding Catholics and vice versa.
    - Yoga? I have never met a Committed Christian Protestant who was not aware of the concerns, the only christians who have had a balanced view regarding yoga as an excersise, have been the Catholic priests I study with.
    - The Pope- One of the big challenges of protestants becoming Catholic appears to be the Pope. What Catholics often dont realise is that most Protestant churches have much strickter guidelines as to how to live in a Christian manner than the Catholic church tends to offer. One of the biggest challenges for myself in becoming Catholic was the distant Pope, with less established boundries than I was used to in protestant churches.
    - Protestans will usually be held accountable to attending church, to daily prayer and reading of Scripture. While I find I can miss a mass as a Catholic and generally the priest barly notices nevermind holds me accountable.
    - Not eating meat on Fridays was new to me when I came to Catholicism, however my Catholic friends were surprised that as protestants we may fast a day every week.
I think the Very important thing to remember is that there are Catholics who proclaim to be Catholic who do not attend church or observe any of the churchs guidelines, just as there are people who proclaim to be protestant who never go to to church and who do not live a Christian lifestyle. I think here you seem to be comparing commited Catholics to Protestants who are Christian in name only.
    Many blessing to you x

As Catholics we know that it is God who will hold us accountable for wilfully missing mass on Sundays as it is a mortal sin. We are taught this from childhood.

Since you're a former Anglican, I think you might be interested in the following books:
      1. Faith of our Fathers by Joseph Pierce. It's basically a history of the Christian faith throughout the UK and how the Anglican church arose and supplanted the original Catholic faith
      2. Kabbalah Secrets Christians Need to Know by Deanne Loper. It exposes the pagan and demonic roots of Kabbalah and how its esoteric doctrines are infiltrating the Church.
      3. The article on Kabbalah found in the 1906 Jewish Encyclopedia. Their own scholars admit that it comes straight out of Babylon and has nothing to do with the faith of Abraham and Moses

No; you cannot miss a Sunday Mass unless you have a very justifiable reason like being in the hospital or sick at home. If you miss Sunday without good justification, you will be committing a mortal sin and you cannot go to Holy Communion until you go to Confession.

Thank you for sharing. I had no idea about the yoga and so I am glad I never followed through with it! Also, I want to mention about online/ TV daily masses for those who are homebound. When my mom was undergoing chemotherapy, she watched the masses on TV or online, right here on TH-cam. It was a comfort for her. And I know they most likely won’t know how to get around technology, help them click a few buttons. I am sure they will appreciate it.

There is a Yoga group formed at the block of apartments . I was asked to join by a so called friend . When i explained that i cannot and do not want to do it . This woman stopped being my friend because of that . There is something strange about Yoga . And its so popular at present . Even the disabled cannot avoid it because there is seated adapted Yoga for them.

When my husband I wanted children, we took an NFP course through the Catholic Church. I took my temperature every day, and I knew when I was fertile. Women are only fertile 3 days a month! NFP is doable! Well, I got pregnant. My son is now 26 years old! I highly recommend NFP!!! It's an awesome course, and if you want to practice natural birth control, it's awesome!

My priest says we can do the yoga exercises just not enter into or practice the spiritual aspect. I do breathing, stretching and vinyasas without following the spiritual aspect of it. God knows where my heart is, so to each their own I guess.

I am catholic and used to use birth control but then i realized how bad it was. It can cause infertility or make it harder to get pregnant. I havent used birth control since!

Same here. I didn’t know it was wrong in the eyes of the church. Also didn’t know how bad it was for the body and mind. I feel great since stopping
