    Cool video, do you happen to have any exercises for the back?
    My back is quite weak and especially the upper middle does not seem to hold up against the great stress coming from strokes like smashes too well. So I was thinking of strengthening it. My research tells me it could be the lower trap muscles, which do have an important function stabilizing the thoracic!

    • @BadmintonInsight
      @BadmintonInsight  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We would suggest some 'back ups' and then some pulling work with either therabands or light weights. The back ups feature in some of our core programmes which we have on our website, we also have 4 badminton specific weights programmes on here too if you want to check them out! badminton-insight.com/shop/

    @davidbartlett102 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Both
    Many thanks for great sessions..
    A couple of comments: We suggest that you mention a warning at the beginning that the level people do these at should depend on their fitness level - e.g., 1 can of beans, if starting? Also, we think the fore-hand overhead throw would best be completed with the body follow-through step (for maximum power, or deception): we see too many juniors not doing this while practicing and then doing the same in games.
    Best wishes, Dave & Gill, Comets Junior Badminton Club

    • @BadmintonInsight
      @BadmintonInsight  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comments Dave/Gill - yes not everyone will be able to hold 2 cans (especially kids) so 1 can is great to start with, or anything else of a light weight! If you have a watch of our footwork video we talk about the overhead movement and recovery on that! This video was mainly just for shoulder strengthening :)

    My biggest regret was not understanding the severity of my shoulder pain while playing. The tight tournament schedules also meant i had no recovery time. A torn shoulder will take ages to heal and wont ever recover fully. I think all badminton coaches should emphasize playing safely before anything else. After all, no matter how good you are an injury will end it all.
