Thanks for the shout-out Matt, I really appreciate it. You are not messing around, almost 34K. I still think it's the dogs that got you there, but what do I know 😉😅. Keep them videos coming.
Gday Matt, happy new year, thanks very much for the shout out, truly appreciate you watching my videos and keen to see the mega drill in action, cheers
Cheers Marty! Love your channel brother. I really admire how you’ve kept at it. It’s not easy producing videos, and so many of yours are bloody awesome. Let’s send this bloody MEGADRILL 🤣👊💯
I wonder how many people today actually watch more TH-cam than TV because of channels such as yourself and many others? Stickers are a good start for merch. Cheap and easy to mail...
I don't and haven't watched any TV for years now. Only TH-cam and Netflix. Watch mostly engineering channels and a few electronic ones, plus current afairs.
I'm definitely in this this category, Cant stand the garbage pushed out of Hollywood or the lame stream news networks. My TV is only used for music and gaming now.
Hey mate. The TH-cam algorithm promoted you from CEE, and I could not be happier. You got your head on upside-down though. Be yourself? Yeah. That shines through. It really does.
Two strong channel recommendations is Edge Precision and Adam the machinist. They're not making a lot of videos, but each of them is showing something extra.
I hope we get the chance to meet your father when you go out to show off the rigs. I grew up in West Texas where cotton and oil were king. Hearing you talk about your grandmother made me smile
Northwest Pennsylvania USA here. Have a hobby machine shop. Retired Electrician. Amateur knife maker. Stumbled on your channel and like what I see. Have followed CEE for a couple years now.
It's been good to watch the channel grow, good to see more Australian machining channels doing well. I though gingers up north were nocturnal, for foreigners Queensland is about 9 inches from the sun.
Thanks for the history and Q&A, finally to answer your question watching you from the central Balkan peninsula ( yeah I know, middle of nowhere somewhere... Anyhuw, just some 15,184.43 km away from you). Cheers and please continue you being you. P.S. all the best to you and your family not just in this 2025 but all the ones to come.
I’ve watched a few different machining channels where people mentioned the type of insert (CNMG, I think, and others) and I always thought it was a certain brand of insert. I recently found your channel, and one of the first videos I watched you showed a sheet that has what all those letters mean. It seems small, but you have no idea how excited I was to see that. Yes, there’s tons of machining content on here, but you do have something different to offer that’s incredibly valuable. Thanks for everything you’re doing, and keep up the great work!
Check out the Sandvik, Koroloy or YG-1 websites. They all have mountains of data on their various inserts. TBH so much, that it can take an awful lot of time to work out exactly what you need.
Thank you, Matt, for 2 main reasons: 1. for actually replying to some of my comments. 2. I'm totally hooked on this new drill rig. Wishing you and yours all the very best 😉. Cheers.
Great Q & A Matt, a few more questions: 1) You refer to some of your colleagues as Boilermakers. Does your shop also make boilers, or is Boilermaker a Commonwealth term for the trades that are called welders and fabricators in the US? 2) What will be the torque and horsepower required to drive the three meter drill? Will it be diesel/hydraulic or diesel/electric or both? 3) You have a magnificent beard, do you take any precautions to prevent it causing problems when you run machinery? I'm located in the US on the East coast, in Rhode Island which is our smallest state, situated between Connecticut and Massachusetts.
1) In Australia, we often call welders “boilermakers”. Odd in all honesty. 2) I’ll give all the exact specs soon, just double checking numbers - it’s a diesel powered hydraulic driven setup. 3) cheers mate. Yeah, it’s longer than usual. Honestly, I just make sure I don’t let swarf come off in long strings. And keep my head well clear of spinning parts. I spend about 80% of my time on the CNC, which I usually run with the doors closed 👊
Hey Hal Heavy Duty machining! Looking forward to going out to the field and meeting the dudes who break the stuff you make! Happy new year and stay double safe! Ride ride ride!
I'm very excited we're going to get to see the drilling side of the operation. After seeing the size of what you produce getting to watch it in action is really going to give a great perspective on the whole process.
Cheers for taking the time to answer questions. Only found your channel recently, but it’s joined CEE, Clipspring, Inheritance machining and Blondihacks as regularly watched channels. Look forward to seeing those ones on how the different rigs and drills work.
One thing I really appreciate with inheritance machining and cutting edge engineering is that they subtitle their videos. I know its some extra work but the automated captions can be quite bad sometimes, esp when there's a lot of background noise. Would you consider editing and proofing the automated subtitles for your videos in the future? As a deaf person it makes a huge difference.
Here in the States, there's a few companies that do cnc conversations of existing equipment. I recently did some lube lines on a 1968 Binns Super Lathe that a company in Cincinnati, Ohio, was converting. 500hp spindle motor, and it was capable of doing 2" (50mm) depth of cut. Something to consider
GDay Matt! You hit on all my favorite channels. Imagine that….🤣🤣 Topper Machine is another good channel with a ton of manual machining. Josh has a ton of awesome content. Best wishes in 2025! Look forward to the videos.
Your dad sounds like my dad, a British WWII veteran, so laid back he was damn near horizontal! His favourite saying was “if a problem has a solution it’s not worth worrying about and if it doesn’t have a solution it’s not worth worrying about!” Is the drilling side of the company also part of the family, if you covered that I must have missed it. Can’t wait to see the drilling rigs in action! Keep up the great work!
Matt, thanks for giving up your time to do this video in your down time, I am really excited about seeing the rigs work, I am not a metal machinist, but it has always fascinated me since tech school. I still want to know how you deal with all of the swarf and how much cleanup time there is in your workshop. Coming from a cabinet making background, workshop and machine cleaning always takes time and effort, and it is a tedious part of running any sort of manufacturing workshop. I would also love to see you and Curtis doing something together CEE is a jobbing workshop, and it would be interesting for everybody. Thanks again
Hey Matt. I know less than zero about drilling .... so, I find each of your vids extremely fascinating. Thanks for making them. You're making me a more informed person. Golden, Colorado.
The algorithm brought me here, and I'm glad it did. Being a retired ex oil rig electrician and CAD piling drill designer I found everything you're talking about and doing very interesting. Good luck for 2025.
Cheers mate. Yeah it’s WAY beyond what I expected. I thought 1k would have been a massive win 🤣 Grateful and very humbled by the interest in what we do.
Thanks much for your back story etc. Love your channel as with CEE' Kurtis and Karen, learning so much from all you guys in the industry. Keep going for more in the new year!!
Great video. You surprised me with clickspring, but I understand it, what a gifted bloke Chris is. Looking forward to your future vids. Happy new year!
Great video as always! Lot of your favorite channels are on my list too. Chris Maj and David Wilkes in particular are real favorites of mine. Looking forward to seeing what you get up to this year!
@halheavyduty one of my favorites was his passing comment about a 1mm tolerance on a print being "a tight tolerance for Manchester, good thing we're in Sheffield" I haven't set up trepanning here yet (it is on my list, some tooling has been collected already) but I can still say I've learned an awful lot from his videos.
Interesting. I live in Canada but taught as an exchange teacher at Crescent Lagoon State School for 2 years 1989 and 90. Always good to hear of Rocky and you guys. Thanks.
I'd love to see some stickers or something similar. I'm glad I found your channel. I've been subscribed to CEE for a long time now as well as most of the other channels you also like. Thank you for your time and effort filming and sharing your life with us.
You´re a good man, Matt.... lookin forward for all the adventurous stuff coming up in the new year. S´gonna be a hell of a ride. Best wishes from Frankfurt/ Germany.
Loved this episode thank you, Probably my favorite so far as its so close to home for me.. I was a oil well driller for 7 years, Got promoted to Relief Drill in 1980 in Montana's Williston Basin after only 3 months in the patch.. Real battle field promotions back in the day...I then transferred to Oklahoma's Anadarko Basin for a couple years finding myself on a couple different company's rigs, one of which was shooting for worlds deepest hole at the time,, We were over 21000 feet when I left. Eventually I landing on a newly built rig destined to Alaska's Prudhoe Bay Kuparuk field. Once there I was tagged to be one of 4 of the company's work over rig operators and working on Top Drive Drill rigs as well.. All these rigs in my career were missive triples, even the work over rig, meaning 3 drill stems or 90 feet to the Derrick stands diving board. Huge torques involved in either the turn tables or top drives and huge string weights as well. I have been wondering how on earth a truck or trailer mounted rig is planning on handlining this Mega Drills torque requirements your building, or the weight of of a stuck drill. Following along with great anticipation toward watching all of this in action. Thanks so much for sharing. Now as a semi retired excavation Contractor I just bought my first lathe and Mill a couple months ago and eagerly eating up all things making chips and sparks from seasoned pros such as yourself. Carry on.
That's quite a story! Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching. It sounds like you’ve had quite the experience in the drilling world. Something tells me this will be your SECOND fav episode when we finally get to see the big rig send that bloody MEGADRILL 🤣👊
Great to see you today. In regards to channels i watch all but 2 not for long I'll be watching those soon. Have a wonderful year looking forward to a your everything on your Chanel ❤
Matt. I am a retired Mallee farmer who at one stage was farming land owned by RioTinto. Believe it or not, I found out about CEE while watching C&C Equipment's channel, working on dozers and allied equipment. While watching Kurtis, he mentioned you. I am impressed by all I see from all of you experts. You are modest about what you are achieving, but in fact, what you do gives me much hope that we Aussies can, and do, great things
Oh wow! That’s brilliant. It’s a constant learning curve at the moment. The more you know… the more you realise you DONT know 🤣 PS actually didn’t realise we got a shout out on CEE. That’s awesome I must have missed it.
Nice and heartfelt shout out to Kurtis and Karen - and yes, the no nonsense, just get on with it approach, (with the odd cameo from the safety Officer lol...) nails it every time, and yes CEE Aus does one make justifiably proud of your countrymen and women Matt - and that's coming from a Kiwi over the ditch who gets misty eyed every time Hamilton Jets are ever mentioned!
I've only been here for a short while and i love your content so far, I was surprised to hear you say Abom79, ive been watching him since high school when i was dipping my toes into running our worn out lathe and mill. I look forward to see what the new year brings you, cheers mate.
Happy New Year Matt. I hope you had a great Christams and Teddy got some new toys. A good video to start 2025 off and may I suggest you purchase a couple of marine anchors to hold the big rig in place to stopit from spinning, Haha. Cheers Ian
I know you have heard this hundreds of times but I think the algorithm put you in my feed because I subscribe to CEE and the mad genius Kurtis. I subscribed right away to your channel and think you are doing a great job with your videos. Watching from Texas.
Really enjoyed hearing the history of the company. Your panther reference to your Hole Maker fluid, reminds me of a home brewed gun cleaner that some of my fellow competitive shooters used to mix up back in the day. It was a combo of ATF( automatic transmission fluid ), acetone, and who knows what else. Anyway, it was about the color of your Hole Maker( due to the red ATF ), and it was known as "Panther Piss".Good memories! Hope you folks have an awesome 2025!
This was a truly eye opening insight to you, your team, your family, dogs included, location & opperation. Great video, great chanel. Much sucess to you & team. Rock on Bro.
Happy New Year mate!! I’ve enjoyed all ya vids the last year, like the originality and friendly feel to the vids! My fave vids are shop made tools… and loved the homemade workbench spaces!! Hopefully vids like these in the new year!!? All the best!
Hanging to see the big rig running. Things a monster. All the drilling rigs I've worked around are dual continuous tracks used for drilling explosive holes in open cut mines. Never been around mobile units. The motors that run the mine drill rigs are usually around the 1000hp mark. These units run near 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at near full load ie. they get flogged.
Love seeing how quickly your channel is growing its well deserved. The machining you're doing is very interesting and your production quality is extremely good.
Excited about seeing your videos of those doing the hands on work going on at work sites. Drilling, mining, explorations, etc sound exciting. Right now Australia is where it's happening in so many areas of growth and development. Thanks for what you do.
I think it would be fantastic for you and Curtis and families get together. Just have a good time and maybe collaborate on some project. Either at your shop or his shop. I would really look forward to that. Thanks for another great and informative video. Keep us informed Matt!
Hello from Canada. We you first said your grandad went to the Arctic to drill, I thought woow one hell of a scenery change for an Aussi. As a welder, I have loved the glimpse into the fab shop.
Happy new year, great video as usual and great to fill in some blanks about your company's background and history. You're dead right about the Aussie outback too, there's some bloody rough roads but getting to see some really out of the way places is one of the treats of being a truck driver.
You are amazing man :) Im starting my day with Your videos, Chris, Abom79, FrezarCnc... the machining is what i need to live... but You are awesome... I don know how to say, my english is poor sorry, how You speak, Your soul :D its so so good to watch :)
Hey Matt love ya work mate born and bred in Rockhampton myself and I am blown away by the amount of metal you blokes remove in your machines. I recently bought a couple of second hand lathes from a local high school that I went to back in 1981-83 I’d love to have a few beers 🍻 and a few steaks 🥩 and learn something from you mate. Absolutely love the videos and I watch Curtis all the time Abom and a few others as well as mechanical types of things love TH-cam. Just wanted to say Gday and happy new year as well mate.👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers mate! A fellow Rocky boy. Nice. I loved growing up here. Lots of people heap shit on the place, but I love it. Just a small town doing small town stuff. Much better since the internet though. You’re never that far away from all the good stuff now.
Love your channel! A thought for a potential video would be a general overview of trepanning. I don't know very much about it and would be interested in knowing more. Like, you could start with the better known ways of making a hole in a part (drill, boring, etc.) then talking about trepanning and when it would be used, advantages/disadvantages, etc. I would also like to know more about the tool geometry and the function of the different parts of the tool, and then things to be aware of when using the tool to make sure the job is successful. I would also be interested in knowing what might go wrong, what that means for the part and the tool, and what needs to be done to fix things when they go wrong (if possible).
Happy New Year to all of you, wishing you, your loved ones and your team a magnificent 2025. Funny to see all the channels subscribed to back in your list 🤣 Keep it coming, I'm loving it.
Hello Hal Heavy Duty team, greetings from Belgium….. First at all a healthy and successful 2025 for you and all the team members. Another great video, keep up the good work, looking forward for the next video. Pig paw from Sadie & Rønne (both are malicious)
Happy New Year! I also enjoy watching your videos along with videos from Kurtis and Karen. Any idea of the cost of going to mega bore lathe/CNC would be?
I watched your first few videos (when they first came out) after the algorithm suggested it to me. After about the 3rd of 4th video came out i subbed. I haven't powered up my own lathe in a number of years and haven't used a mill in 30+ years. I am however subbed to your channel and CEE. I also regularly watch 2 others on your list. Happy new year to yourself, Teddy, Murray and Penny. I live for hugs so if I couldn't get 1 of Teddy then Murray would be a good substitute.
Happy New Year to you and yours, Matt and the other four mad machinists in the shed. Have a great 2025, all of you, and I look forward to your videos. My all time favourite lathe was a Dean, Smith & Grace 25 in swing x 15 ft centres.
Hello from Mt. Home Idaho,USA. New to the channel. Retired steel fabricator. Like the channel. Suggestions. 1. Show more applications, as to how the part is going to be used,,,field application. 2. Fast forward more through some of the parts . 3. Do more personal stuff, focus on some employees and out of the shop stuff. I see your channel in time well over 509k... keep it up
Happy New Year to the entire HAL team!!! Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day as well!!! Can't wait to see what exciting things we get to watch in 2025!
Happy New Year Matt from the UK. I appreciate the respect and love that you have for your parents and Grand parents. Get together with Kurtis and Karen in 2025.
There's not much better than witnessing the continuance and growth of a legacy started years ago by one bloke and his hands & head, the world could do with more of it because we're in danger of losing too many skills. Yes Curtis (and yourself for that matter) represent to this Englishman a proper Aussie, getting stuck in and getting their hands dirty, I also watch a little channel called backshed, he's as Aussie as they come imo. Anyway, all the best for 2025, much happiness & continued success :)
I grew up in my Dads machine shop. Taught others how to use manual lathes and simple CNC programming in high school. Decided to do aviation maintenance in college and now 20 years later I'm doing machining in my spare time, slowly getting a small job shop setup and making hard to source airplane parts to quench the thirst. Your shop is the kind of work my Dad and I enjoyed. I would be happier than a pig in shit working for/with you.
I always have respect for machinists who have a shop dog (or two) I find that a man who has time to pat and play with his shop dog is worth subscribing to. Cheers mate.
Hello Matt I found your channel by chance. I love watching heavy machining as you do. Most of the channels you are watching I'm watching, too. I prefer abom79 and CEE. All the best best for you from Germany
The flange facing video was the first time i've seen that machine. Fun stuff. I'm getting close to retirement, but f I had it to do all over I would not have gone into information technology. I would have been a machinist. It looks like honest, interesting, and varied work. Love your work. I also watch many of the same YT channels.
Fantastic video. If you do decide to start into some merchandise, pocket tee shirts with a huge HAL logo on the back would be great. Keep the videos coming, exquisite machining content mate.
Raise of hand for all the CEE followers who are now here!!!!
*literally everybody 🤣👊*
Meeee!
Both channels are awesome 👏🏻👍
Hello from kiwi land. Awesome job and been hanging out for another instalment.
Happy Days
Yeppers
Whoa! I finally made the big time! Thanks for making me part of the list.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mate, you’ve got a bloody awesome channel. Love your work brother.
Thanks for the shout out Matt, love your work, your vids have a lovely positive energy - Cheers mate :)
Cheers mate! Your channel is bloody awesome brother. A real credit to you. Looking forward to seeing what 2025 brings 👊
Thanks for the shout-out Matt, I really appreciate it. You are not messing around, almost 34K. I still think it's the dogs that got you there, but what do I know 😉😅. Keep them videos coming.
The dogs and the kids.
All credit to Murray and Penny 💯🐕🤣
Really enjoy your channel mate. Learn a lot from watching.
Chris Maj is tits out of ten 👍
Gday Matt, happy new year, thanks very much for the shout out, truly appreciate you watching my videos and keen to see the mega drill in action, cheers
Cheers Marty! Love your channel brother. I really admire how you’ve kept at it. It’s not easy producing videos, and so many of yours are bloody awesome.
Let’s send this bloody MEGADRILL 🤣👊💯
Happy to see you are doing well. Matty.
Hiya Matty! Happy New Year to you and your family. I hope you remain healthy mate. Cheers from London. Sam
I wonder how many people today actually watch more TH-cam than TV because of channels such as yourself and many others?
Stickers are a good start for merch. Cheap and easy to mail...
Haven’t watched tv in 10 years… TH-cam all the way
Only thing on TV that’s interesting is the local weather, Oklahoma has some interesting weather in the spring especially.
I don't and haven't watched any TV for years now. Only TH-cam and Netflix. Watch mostly engineering channels and a few electronic ones, plus current afairs.
I know I do.
I'm definitely in this this category, Cant stand the garbage pushed out of Hollywood or the lame stream news networks. My TV is only used for music and gaming now.
Appreciate all the back story on the shop and especially your family. Can't wait to see you out in the field! Thank you!
Most welcome mate.
Good one Matt . Have a great New Year & thanks for the shout out ! Cheers 👍👍👍
Cheers mate! Happy New Year to you too! 👊 looking forward to seeing what you get up to in the new year good sir 🇦🇺👊
Great channel eh Max mate 👍

Awesome! I’ll check them out. I think I’m subbed to edge precision.
I hope we get the chance to meet your father when you go out to show off the rigs.
I grew up in West Texas where cotton and oil were king. Hearing you talk about your grandmother made me smile
Over 33K subs in six months, that's a very impressive result. Well done.
Thank you very much!
70 year old machinist here.
LOVE your channel!!!
🙏👊 Thanks for watching my friend!
Northwest Pennsylvania USA here. Have a hobby machine shop. Retired Electrician. Amateur knife maker. Stumbled on your channel and like what I see. Have followed CEE for a couple years now.
That’s great mate! Nothing like a good home shop. Endless hours of creating cool unique stuff.
It's been good to watch the channel grow, good to see more Australian machining channels doing well.
I though gingers up north were nocturnal, for foreigners Queensland is about 9 inches from the sun.
Bro… there’s a reason I love being in the shed and NOT on a rig.
The fuckin moon burns me reflectively (let alone the sun) 🤣🤣🤣
Shade is our friend. 😊
Thanks for the history and Q&A, finally to answer your question watching you from the central Balkan peninsula ( yeah I know, middle of nowhere somewhere... Anyhuw, just some 15,184.43 km away from you).

Cheers mate, it's the little things hey! 🙏 I try to keep it simple so people with a non machining background can get a handle on it all too.
Cheers.
Cheers mate! I love the comments section. Love chatting to people who share my interest in machining!
You make your viewers feel like family ! Kudos !!!
❤️🙏👊
Great Q & A Matt, a few more questions:

Cheers for taking the time to answer questions.
Only found your channel recently, but it’s joined CEE, Clipspring, Inheritance machining and Blondihacks as regularly watched channels.
Look forward to seeing those ones on how the different rigs and drills work.
Welcome aboard! Cheers mate 👊
On Fire Welding out of California and ICweld out of Texas would fit that bill.

Would you consider editing and proofing the automated subtitles for your videos in the future? As a deaf person it makes a huge difference.
I’ll definitely look into how we can get it done mate.
Can't wait to see the field trip!!
Me too!
Seconded... Er, thirded!
BTW, what's in your Cobra, Matt? Always wanted one of those too. Factory Five? 😍
I started with CEE and am branching out now I'm not a machinist but I enjoy watching U fella's work. Washington state USA here👍👍
Cheers mate! 🇺🇸🇦🇺👊
Here in the States, there's a few companies that do cnc conversations of existing equipment.

Something to consider
Holy crap that’s a massive bit of gear. Something to consider indeed 👊
Happy new year Matt, thank you for putting the time in alongside your work :)
Most welcome, and thanks for the support mate 🙏👊
GDay Matt! You hit on all my favorite channels. Imagine that….🤣🤣
Topper Machine is another good channel with a ton of manual machining. Josh has a ton of awesome content.
Best wishes in 2025! Look forward to the videos.
I watched a bunch of Josh’s vids early on. He’s bloody awesome too.
Thanks mate! Big year ahead 👊🙏
Your dad sounds like my dad, a British WWII veteran, so laid back he was damn near horizontal!
His favourite saying was “if a problem has a solution it’s not worth worrying about and if it doesn’t have a solution it’s not worth worrying about!”
Is the drilling side of the company also part of the family, if you covered that I must have missed it.
Can’t wait to see the drilling rigs in action!
Keep up the great work!
Yep. The machine shop was born out of the need to keep rigs running… and just grew from there!
I just came from the previous video (the facing one) and so happy I've now found another aussie machinist channel to watch alongside CEE
Welcome aboard mate!
You deserve all the growth you have had. Quality videos with good presentation. Keep it up
Cheers mate 🙏👊
Matt, thanks for giving up your time to do this video in your down time, I am really excited about seeing the rigs work, I am not a metal machinist, but it has always fascinated me since tech school. Cheers mate! Yeah the swarf cleanup takes a bit of work, but I’ll add a “how we do it” in one of the next videos.
Hey Matt. I know less than zero about drilling .... so, I find each of your vids extremely fascinating. Thanks for making them. You're making me a more informed person. Golden, Colorado.
Cheers good sir! 🇺🇸👊

Almost 35k followers in roughly 6 months? You guys are killing it. Love your content.
Cheers mate. Yeah it’s WAY beyond what I expected. I thought 1k would have been a massive win 🤣

Cheers mate! Much appreciated, and Happy New Year!
Thanks for taking the time to make the video, have a Happy and Safe New Year
Cheers brother.
I was a machinist for 47 years. I have done most not all. No one have that is the great part of this skill set
Couldn’t agree more good sir. Always something new to learn. It’s why I love the trade so much I think
Great video. You surprised me with clickspring, but I understand it, what a gifted bloke Chris is. Looking forward to your future vids. Happy new year!
It’s so off the scale for me - I think that’s why I enjoy it so much
Matt - I think your first merch should be a "HAL Heavy Duty beard care" range. 🤣
The forbidden pink beard oil 💯👊🤣🤣🤣
😄 😄
Great video as always!
Lot of your favorite channels are on my list too. Chris Maj and David Wilkes in particular are real favorites of mine.
Looking forward to seeing what you get up to this year!
Big fan of those two. David has a cracking sense of humour
@halheavyduty one of my favorites was his passing comment about a 1mm tolerance on a print being "a tight tolerance for Manchester, good thing we're in Sheffield"
I haven't set up trepanning here yet (it is on my list, some tooling has been collected already) but I can still say I've learned an awful lot from his videos.
Interesting. I live in Canada but taught as an exchange teacher at Crescent Lagoon State School for 2 years 1989 and 90. Always good to hear of Rocky and you guys. Thanks.
Oh wow! Small world
I'd love to see some stickers or something similar. I'm glad I found your channel. I've been subscribed to CEE for a long time now as well as most of the other channels you also like. Thank you for your time and effort filming and sharing your life with us.
Most welcome brother 👊🙏
Another great year of videos, Thank You.
Cheers mate, much appreciated. 🙏👊
You´re a good man, Matt.... lookin forward for all the adventurous stuff coming up in the new year. S´gonna be a hell of a ride. Best wishes from Frankfurt/ Germany.
🙏👊
👍😁
Matt, I'm really digging the great content. Actual work that someone is doing and doing well. It's appreciated! Keep up the great big stuff in 2025!
Thanks for the kind words mate! Looking forward to a big 2025
Happy New Year, good content brings the subs, should be 100,000 later this year👍
👊💯🙏
Seeing the parts you make actually put to use in the field would be for me great very compelling content. Ray
Definitely happening this year Ray. 💯

Matt happy new year and compliments of the season to you and your family. Hope you have a great year regards from Townsville
🙏👊🇦🇺
The more you know… the more you realise you DONT know 🤣
PS actually didn’t realise we got a shout out on CEE.
Love it 👊
I've only been here for a short while and i love your content so far, I was surprised to hear you say Abom79, ive been watching him since high school when i was dipping my toes into running our worn out lathe and mill. I look forward to see what the new year brings you, cheers mate.
Cheers mate!
Happy New Year Matt. I hope you had a great Christams and Teddy got some new toys. A good video to start 2025 off and may I suggest you purchase a couple of marine anchors to hold the big rig in place to stopit from spinning, Haha. Cheers Ian
Bloody good idea! ⚓️👊🤣
I know you have heard this hundreds of times but I think the algorithm put you in my feed because I subscribe to CEE and the mad genius Kurtis.
I subscribed right away to your channel and think you are doing a great job with your videos.
Watching from Texas.
Love it! Texas for the win.
Second time here, only stumbled on it, great to see and hear your explanations and great to see that you train and give opportunities to others. Ray.
Cheers Ray! 👊🙏
Panther Piss. Love it 🤣👊
@@halheavyduty 👊
This was a truly eye opening insight to you, your team, your family, dogs included, location & opperation. Great video, great chanel. Much sucess to you & team. Rock on Bro.
Cheers brother! Big year ahead 👊
Happy New Year mate!!
I’ve enjoyed all ya vids the last year, like the originality and friendly feel to the vids!
My fave vids are shop made tools… and loved the homemade workbench spaces!!
Hopefully vids like these in the new year!!?
All the best!
Definitely more to come! I’ve got a bunch of shop made projects to smash in 2025
Happy new year looking forward to what content you post forthcoming
👊🙏
Hanging to see the big rig running. Things a monster. All the drilling rigs I've worked around are dual continuous tracks used for drilling explosive holes in open cut mines. Never been around mobile units. The motors that run the mine drill rigs are usually around the 1000hp mark. These units run near 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at near full load ie. they get flogged.
That they do. That they do.
Another 70 year old machinist here. Thanks for the effort you put into your videos. Know it is appreciated.
Thank you good sir! 🙏👊
Love seeing how quickly your channel is growing its well deserved. The machining you're doing is very interesting and your production quality is extremely good.
Thanks mate. Much appreciated 🙏👊
Excited about seeing your videos of those doing the hands on work going on at work sites. Drilling, mining, explorations, etc sound exciting. Right now Australia is where it's happening in so many areas of growth and development. Thanks for what you do.
Most welcome, and thanks for tuning in. Here’s to a big year! 👊
I think it would be fantastic for you and Curtis and families get together. Just have a good time and maybe collaborate on some project. Either at your shop or his shop. I would really look forward to that. Thanks for another great and informative video. Keep us informed Matt!
Awesome idea.
Thanks for sharing, have a great 2025.
Thanks mate. 👊🙏
Hello from Canada. We you first said your grandad went to the Arctic to drill, I thought woow one hell of a scenery change for an Aussi.
As a welder, I have loved the glimpse into the fab shop.
Cheers mate! Fingers crossed we get some more fab time this year.
Happy new year, great video as usual and great to fill in some blanks about your company's background and history.
You're dead right about the Aussie outback too, there's some bloody rough roads but getting to see some really out of the way places is one of the treats of being a truck driver.
Cheers Peter! Happy new year mate
Happy New Year. I'm looking forward to watching you in 2025. Great channel!
Cheers mate!
You are amazing man :)
Im starting my day with Your videos, Chris, Abom79, FrezarCnc...

its so so good to watch :)
Thanks for the kind words mate. Much appreciated. Looking forward to a big 2025
Hi there I'm an electrician in the UK. But I have wached or am still subscribed to most of the channels you mentioned. All the best for 25
Cheers mate! 🇬🇧👊
That’s a great idea. Definitely doing something like that this year.
Been watching CEE for awhile now and your channel HAL came up as a suggestion, I'm sold!
Awesome! Cheers mate
Happy New Year to all of you, wishing you, your loved ones and your team a magnificent 2025. Funny to see all the channels subscribed to back in your list 🤣 Keep it coming, I'm loving it.
Cheers mate!
Hello Hal Heavy Duty team, greetings from Belgium….. First at all a healthy and successful 2025 for you and all the team members. Another great video, keep up the good work, looking forward for the next video.
Pig paw from Sadie & Rønne (both are malicious)
Thanks mate! Sadie & Ronne sound like they’re doing their job 💯👊🤣
Love your work mate! Hello from Dubbo
Cheers from the shed!
Outstanding Matt…cheers from Florida
Cheers from down under mate! 👊
Happy New Year! I also enjoy watching your videos along with videos from Kurtis and Karen. Any idea of the cost of going to mega bore lathe/CNC would be?
I reckon it’ll be upwards of 300k USD. Depending on the brand / options.
Love it! Cheers Alan. Don’t worry mate… Murray NEVER gets sick of a good ol hug 💯👊
Happy New Year to you and yours, Matt and the other four mad machinists in the shed. Have a great 2025, all of you, and I look forward to your videos. My all time favourite lathe was a Dean, Smith & Grace 25 in swing x 15 ft centres.
🙏👊
Fascinating work and great job done with these videos. Keep it coming
Cheers mate!
Hello from Mt. Home Idaho,USA. New to the channel. Retired steel fabricator. Like the channel.
Suggestions.
1. Show more applications, as to how the part is going to be used,,,field application.
2. Fast forward more through some of the parts .
3. Do more personal stuff, focus on some employees and out of the shop stuff.
I see your channel in time well over 509k... keep it up
Thank you for the suggestions. Much appreciated mate.
Happy New Year. Wishing you great sucess with your channel
Thank you, and happy new year mate 🙏👊
Happy New Year to the entire HAL team!!!
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas Day as well!!!
Can't wait to see what exciting things we get to watch in 2025!
Happy New Year to you too! We’re looking forward to it as well!👊💯
Congratulations on your new chapter of growth!
Thanks mate, appreciate the support! 🙏👊
Happy New Year Matt from the UK. I appreciate the respect and love that you have for your parents and Grand parents. Get together with Kurtis and Karen in 2025.
Happy New Year!
Let’s see what the year brings 😉👍👊
There's not much better than witnessing the continuance and growth of a legacy started years ago by one bloke and his hands & head, the world could do with more of it because we're in danger of losing too many skills. Yes Curtis (and yourself for that matter) represent to this Englishman a proper Aussie, getting stuck in and getting their hands dirty, I also watch a little channel called backshed, he's as Aussie as they come imo. Anyway, all the best for 2025, much happiness & continued success :)
Cheers mate! 🇬🇧👊🙏
Happy new year and thank you..great channel! You do an awesome job!
Cheers mate! 👊
Cheers brother! it’s funny… I never appreciated family business growing up. Took me 20 years to realise what I was missing!
awsome matt, thanks for all the info, can't wait see it all together. still finding it hard to get the scale of this thing, its so big!
I can’t wait to see the drill hanging off the rig! It’s nuts
Happy 2025🏁🎊
💯👊🙏
Stumbled onto your channel after watching CEE. Subscribed and now binge watching older vids. 👍🏼.
Welcome aboard! 👊🙏
Hopefully the earlier ones don’t give you too much sea sickness. Was a bit happy on the camera movement early on 🤣👊
I always have respect for machinists who have a shop dog (or two)
I find that a man who has time to pat and play with his shop dog is worth subscribing to. Cheers mate.
Agreed 💯
Matt your Cobra steering wheel was installed on the wrong side!! Hahaha....sounds rowdy, what motor? Love it, always wanted one
Haha. Yeah it’s got a 427 Ford V8
It just sounds magic hey. I love it when Craig brings it into the shop.
Hello Matt I found your channel by chance. I love watching heavy machining as you do. Most of the channels you are watching I'm watching, too. I prefer abom79 and CEE. All the best best for you from Germany
Cheers good sir 🇩🇪👊🙏
The flange facing video was the first time i've seen that machine. Fun stuff. I'm getting close to retirement, but f I had it to do all over I would not have gone into information technology. I would have been a machinist. It looks like honest, interesting, and varied work. Love your work. I also watch many of the same YT channels.
Cheers mate!
Fantastic video. If you do decide to start into some merchandise, pocket tee shirts with a huge HAL logo on the back would be great. Keep the videos coming, exquisite machining content mate.
Cheers mate!
