Your music doesnt need to be this hard. You have such a great sound track that anything you show on screen is made multiple times better. Great work putting this online for us to all enjoy! Liebherr #1, even in the state with a place down the road showing off these cranes.

It's wonderful for this old man, who has loved cranes all his life but rarely up close to them, to be able to see the manufacturing process and use of them on TH-cam. What amazing machines and what advances in engineering in my lifetime. Great video.
Pretty amazing process...You have to give the Germans a lot of credit here...Even though it is such a large scale...everything is very precisely made and fit...Really a modern marvel...as they say.I would be extremely proud to build something like this..
What can you say! Absolutely incredible. How on earth do they design and manufacture all the thousands of precision parts, put them all together and operate them safely around the world. Engineering is something humans have become very good at!
Wonderful video, I am a retired mechanic so you know I really enjoyed this video. I had seen one of your cranes on a jobsite, I tell you seeing the crane on the video does not do it justice, you need to see it in real life. I remember the earlier cranes rotated on a pin, I see that you use the slewing ring which is got to be 100 times stronger than the old-fashioned pin. Anyway some really great engineering I'm glad you took time out to make this documentary , thanks again

This's like a real-life Transformers movie! Seeing how they meticulously build this 800-ton titan from scratch is mind-blowing. The hydraulics, the engine, the telescoping boom - it's all a masterpiece of German engineering.
I worked with their biggest crawler crane (in the world) the sky reacher. Had over 7 million lbs of counterweight on it. We had over 550 feet of boom. Setting trusses with it that weighed half a million lbs
One of those vehicle cranes was dropped at the dockyard in my brisbane, aus while being loaded recently - what's crazier is a a video of a super similar situation that happened some years before in another city - perth - but this time the guy filming it is narrating the f-up real-time - right before the lifting gear gave and it fell. it's not on yt though - i found it on fb
That's the assembly of a huge confirmed product. Wonder how much time they spent on design, R&D, manufacturing processes planning, test and qualification.
so does the telescoping cylinder telescope the full 50 + meters or does it somehow raise each section one at a time , they lock and it reciprocates back and lifts the next section?
An amazingly clean and bright factory. The attention to detail must be paramount when there are millions of parts in play and lives at risk. We see way too many crane failures in the US due to poorly maintained and assembled units. Liebherr has tried to make these cranes idiot proof with good engineering practice. I still would hate to be the mechanic who's tasked with repairing one of these beasts. Nicely done video.
Always wanted to know the answer to this question at full motorway speed what is the breaking distance of these multi-axel cranes, would love to see footage?
Guys, it's just an assembly line documentary. Turn down the overly dramatic music. It really doesn't help the video at all and is just annoying and ruins the whole thing. Otherwise good video.
They have steel caps for sure, they’re trainers with caps in them. It odd there’s no standard workers uniform/overalls for 4k people working on site, if that was bmw or jcb they would have swag up the wiz wham! Agree crazy no HH given the amount being moved by gantry

You said earlier in the video that the power pack weighs 16 tonnes. Then later on whilst the crane is assembling itself you say the power pack is 23 Tonnes🙄🙄
That is partially true. The LTM 1750 is allowed to travel with it's complete telescopic boom. And the AC 1000 is only allowed to travel with most sections of it's boom removed. But it all depends in which country the crane is travelling, because every country has different rules about what weight you can drive with on the public road.
did I hear him right ? .3000 tonnes, that is amazing, your talking about big ships being lifted by something you can drive on the road, yikes man that's frigging amazing,
I suspect people have really bizarre sound set-ups and the audio was mixed for your typical TV. I'm using earphones and can hear both the narrator and music fine.
I thought that it sounded funny too. But I just looked it up and found that Argon is -186 c. so theres only 10 degrees difference. Cold enough and maybe cheaper???
@@TRReck OK. Just out of interest then. Why would they use Ar over Ln? It's not like voice over guy just said the wrong gas. Mechanic/engineer from way back and I'd never heard of liquid Ar before.
@@broughxtreme unfortunately in this case, that's exactly what's happened. He mis spoke. There is no thermal benefit from using argon vs nitrogen. All that matters is thermal contraction. No one has ever heard of the audio term 'ducking'. Every word doesn't need to be accompanied by bombastic music.
I just turn off the sound and turn on subtitles when they play unrequired music

What a beautiful piece of German engineering that crane is, thank you for sharing

Liebberr is ultimate. No comparison needed . Liebberr is way ahead of time . Thanks for sharing.
Why is the music so intense? It is also very loud and annoying and makes it hard to enjoy the content.
It's WELT Doku's annoying DNA. Just give it a "thumb down", otherwise they will never understand.

To much music ffs.
For god’s sake get rid of the music. All over TH-cam people are crying out to get rid of bloody awful music on every video.
yes, Music is too intrusive and overly dramatic
And despite the over the top music still a great video, i agree way too dramatic

I can not stand the Fauxmerican narration
It's a television production and it shows.
The music and the dramatic narration are among the many reasons why television is dying.
I love the happy faces on the nuts that have been torqued and inspected on the fittings at the 6:47 mark 😁
I had to review twice until I noticed. great catch
I can still hear the narrator, could you turn up the music a bit more?
I am incredibly impressed by the engineers who designed this crane.
WOW ~ Liebherr is the GOAT!
great vid --- sheaves are called pulleys, mechanics are called technicians - impressive engineering
Magnifisant engineering :)

A little less bombastic on the music would be nice. This isn't a WW2 German tank assault against the West! But a great video still.
Love engineering on this scale, really is fascinating stuff, thank you for providing these "Free Documentary's" ...
I love how the narrator almost magically switches between perfect American English and accent-free German 😄

Great video of an awesome machine!🙂
Thanks.
a nice toy for over €7,000,000 😊😊😊☺️
Fun fact!
Liebherr used to make an even bigger mobile crane! The LTM 11200
I don’t know when and why they apparently discontinued this one.
so does the telescoping cylinder telescope the full 50 + meters or does it somehow raise each section one at a time , they lock and it reciprocates back and lifts the next section?
Fantastic educational video. I learned a lot about telescopic crane construction.

I’ve gotten to work with the Skyreacher (ironworker here) such an awe inspiring piece of equipment.

Lego technic instilled the love of cranes inside of me.
However much these cost, they are totally justified.
Interesting assembly, but the editor / director of this video need to chill with the soundtrack, damn.
Very typical German high precision & engineering perfection
They probably could have shaved ten minutes off this video if the would have used first names only once the mechanics were first introduced.

It is a German company that has simply moved its formal headquarters to Switzerland for tax reasons. There's nothing Swiss about it
