    I love listening and watching the instructions rather than reading them, Thank you very much, Ben! This is truly a great game and my extended family loves it!

    Thank you. Happy there still is a healthy community enthusiastic about this game. I found it after so many years, but I am missing the rule book.

    Ben, in my humble opinion this was a very clear and comprehensive step-by-step explanation, and I enjoyed watching, as it brought back memories from the days when I played 2210, I guess it was about 15 years ago now. I thought your diagrams were particularly good. Many thanks for uploading. Please take care and stay safe.

    This version of Risk deserves a video game version, like the Computer Gaming World one for the original Risk or the older video game Risk II.

    Just bought the 2001 version for $20 bucks from a guy off of fb marketplace today. Looking forward to playing with my son. This really helped clarify the rules. Thanks so much! :)

    I have the metal gear solid 4 version of risk, and after watching this video I've come to the conclusion that this game is basically the exact same as the metal gear version with very small differences. In the metal gear version, the commanders are called mercenaries, they have their own respective abilities, but don't have respective decks of cards that can be purchased with the game currency, but they do need to be hired to be used, and paid wages to continue using them in future turns. The command cards in the metal gear version are called drebin cards and function the same way as in this version. The currency to purchase the cards also function the same but are called drebin points instead. In the metal gear version, instead of the moon with 14 additional territories, you have a mobile ship with 3. Also the game ends not after a certain number of rounds but after a player completes 3 objectives. Another thing is while the space station in this version has to be built, in the metal gear version, you have a base that you start out with at the beginning, and you must control your starting base to win even if you control another player's base. The only thing that this version of risk does better than metal gear in my opinion, since I haven't played 2210, is the unit system. The metal gear version does not have models for 5 units. Only single units and 3 unit models

    I got this game in early 2002, if I remember correctly. It is the large box version.
    In my group we play all different kinds of Risk games. Risk 2210AD is the one with the most complexity in terms of game design. It has territory cards, commanders, commander cards, complex maps. Other game versions have similar variations, but my group perception is these variations feel like a watered down version of the game design features implemented in this Risk 2210AD.
    However, I still have to try Risk LOTR-TE.
    What is the most rich feature in game design of all Risk games available today?

    Greetings. I need to know: In the Risk 2210 game, when and how are the 3 8-sided dice used? At what time are 3 dice of 8 rolled? I would be grateful if you could help me with this question. Because I don't see it in the manual. Thanks.

    • @andrewtoman4644
      @andrewtoman4644 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      if i remember correctly, 8 sided dice are used with commanders, and 3 dice are the max dice that the attackers can roll, so if you have 3 commanders attacking, you should be able to roll all 3 8 sided dice. That is, assuming the commanders are attacking into their designated spots

    can you play this game not by the five rounds but until one player rules all land territories or even the entire map? and what do the lunar and water territories card do? do they give you the bonuses that are written or does controlling the entire continent gives you that bonus?

    • @harsh-rules
      @harsh-rules  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some people ignore the five round rule and keep playing until one player controls everything. The Water and Lunar territory cards are used to randomly draw a territory as instructed by Command Cards. You can get bonuses for Water and Lunar colonies by controlling all of a specific group.

    do you have to leave at least one MOD at the original territory?

    • @aarondelgado3421
      @aarondelgado3421 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that's correct. This is why you cannot invade a territory with just one MOD.

      But there's one case when a territory it's empty during the gameplay: some cards like The Mother destroy the MODs that are present in an specific area, even if a territory of said area only has 1 MOD.

    Coming from classic Risk this was a let down. Forces over complex ideas on top of simple gameplay. We played 3 times and felt like playing a game of classic war with a deck of cards. With only 5 phases you rely on luck.
