AC/DC comes from a time where you were only a good artist if you played good live. These days that doesn't matter. Which makes them one of the G.O.A.T of music
@@jasperlufkin Only? There were hundreds of bands and singers who were authentic,, believe it or not Madonna is one of them. I may be a metal head, but I was in my 20s when she showed up, and I dug her, just like Chrissy Hyde and Debra Harry before her.

Lol, I was that kid with my parents. My friend played some AC/DC on the bus and I came home so excited I discovered a new band, they thought it was pretty funny.

I've experienced this song live twice, so let me tell you there's nothing like the sound of 30,000 people singing and shouting along. It's incredible. AC/DC is one of the best live bands you could ever hear. I stood at the end of the catwalk, watching Angus standing right over me. Glorious. Angus, the guitar player, is wearing a school boy outfit. It's his trademark. Oh, and you gotta turn the sound up. A lot.
Angus used to turn up to gigs at the local pub straight after school, he was only about 15, so he had no time to change clothes. That is where it comes from.
Fun fact: Angus’ brother Malcolm is the rhythm guitar player of this band and he holds it down like a boss in the background. To date, they are one of the greatest guitar teams in rock history.
The dance that the lead guitarist, Angus Young, does while playing is called the "duck walk". And he adopted the duck walk from Legendary Guitarist Chuck Berry.
I always love how Angus was like "it's a chuck berry thing". Something so cool when someone wears their influences like that and just openly pays tribute to their heroes
You are partial right about the British vibe. AC/DC was founded by brothers Malcolm Young (rhythm guitar) and Angus Young (lead guitar) who were born in Scotland before moving to Australia and the current vocalist, Brian Johnson is from England.
I used to sneak into the Matthew Flinders Hotel in Chadstone Victoria Australia aged 15. To watch them. Long before the world knew them. I get drunk and then get up for school the next day. 1975.
@@gaifawcett9760 My dad told me how he saw them live in our Flinders Hotel when he was young. Saw them in Adelaide myself years ago, still get tinnitus from "For those about to rock" cannons
60 year grandfather saw AC/DC Red Rocks 78 powerage tour. Amazing concert. Literally 2 day's later headed for bootcamp. Graduation day we bought tickets for Long Beach. 35 squids in cracker Jack's pumping arms to AC/DC. Invited us backstage to meet the band, before the tour tramps rolled in.
KISS had their hits, but were definitely more known for the show and the makeup, heels, etc. AC/DC just kicked ass, straight up. Their shows were truly what arena rock was at its best: cannons, fireworks, fans singing and chanting along with every hit, every note. It becomes a spiritual experience, the power of a giant mass of people behind great musicians. Incredible times to be alive..
@@shiichan32 both bands are pretty much right there with the Guess Who as ugliest Rock band of all time. It's a good thing they WERE successful, otherwise those genes probably would've stayed mostly in the station. Instead, they're everywhere...😂
I agree. But Kiss is worth a listen. Their song “I Want to Rock & Roll all Night “ was one of their most popular. BTW the guy in the white shirt is right. AC/DC means alternating and direct current (somebody paid attention in physics class lol). But it also is a double entendre- its a slang term for bisexual.
@weedthepeople could be, apparently this reaction was recorded a while back but they kept pulling it down. It's really fun to see their reactions to music from way before they were born 🔥 KISS and AC/DC .. why can't we just love both bands ?
I'm so grateful about that :) That's a positive for technology ... in a cesspool of negatives!!! Rock, punk, country, jazz, bluegrass all are deeply rooted by way of Africa and the music that Africans' brought was a priceless gift in spite of the inhumane condition that brought it about.. The one cruel joke in the world we live in is that differences divide us and it was a really a gracious gift from God that was/is meant to bring us together and treat our curiosity, imaginations, creativity, social and communal essentials for harmony and survival of hope and faith; to motivate one's self to thrive during life's ups and downs!! As for the guitar . I believe it is believed to have come about in the 13th century..
2:33 - No-one ever notices Angus is playing the opening guitar riff with one hand. He even changes key in the middle. He's not saluting the audience, he's saying, "Look ma, one hand."
If you're not a guitarist, you have no idea how difficult it is to play that opening riff continuously. Young is amazing, as are the entire band. A lightening bolt performance!
Least hes doing the easiest version.... studio cut hes not doing hammer on and pull offs. Studio track hes picking every note. Live he does the easier way, because he can get more emotion and into the walk/devil horns
I can play it. And with one hand, but not two, like someone do. And i don't find this opening real hard) I'm not a professional guitarist, I'm - russian :) But, i agree, that opening isn't easy level!)
AC/DC, straight forward, ass kickin, foot stomping, head banging rock n roll. They did everything on their terms, never wrote a ballad, never changed their formula to fit any current trend, stayed 100% true to who they are and continue to use the meat and potatoes formula to write rock n roll that makes you wanna roll the windows down, crank the volume and put your foot down on the pedal and grin ear to ear knowing that everything you feel in that moment means you’re alive!
My favorite quote from Angus: “I'm sick to death of people saying we've made 11 albums that sound exactly the same. In fact, we've made 12 albums that sound exactly the same.” 🤣🤘
When you're talking about the "best" rock band of all time, you have to consider the fact that AC/DC has basically played the same sounding song for basically 50 years, and they still kick ass. lol
@@juliemanarin4127 Thank you Julie Manarin for calling out the obvious! AC/DC is great, but their not even in the same galaxy as Led Zeppelin, Zeppelin is unparalleled when it comes to great bands!
Angus Young once famously said: "I’m sick to death of people saying we’ve made 11 albums that sound exactly the same...In fact, we’ve made 12 albums that sound exactly the same!” lol
Angus Young is legendary. When you watch an AC/DC video it has to be a live performance as Angus is 100% energy from start to finish on a 2 hr set. No denying the impact of KISS but AC/DC is next level
ACDC is an electrical term which stands for alternating current direct current! It basically means their music is full of energy! Their sister Margaret saw it on her sewing machine and the rest is history! The little thing Angus does with his feet and legs is taken from a black guitarist named Chuck Berry!
Hell's Bells, Back in Black, Money Talks, you shook me all night long, a whole lot of Rosie, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap....AC/DC is one of the greatest bands ever. Angus Young one of the greatest guitarists ever. Their song "Who made who" is about him. Check out all their live River Plate performances in Argentina, the audience was massive.
Omgoodness! My sons 2 nd word after mom of course lol was AC/DC! AC/DC is their raw energy they put out during their performance. I see them 2-3 times back to back when they come to fl. This video ….. that is how all their performances are. They are absolutely amazing, electrifying amazing mesmerizing very unique very talented band. I’m not sure if anybody told you Angus Young the guy with the guitar did you notice his outfit is like a schoolboy outfit . When they were younger and they would go play and practice after school he went to a private school they had uniforms so he was always in his uniform when they played so when they got signed and started playing around the world that was his signature he wears that drink every concert . I’ve never seen you guys before I’ve never seen anybody react to music and I absolutely love it. You guys are awesome. Hey guys! Absolutely LOVED y'all watching this. So I'm a 61 year old woman living in Mississippi but grew up in the Northwest of England. I've been a "Headbanger" for many years now. This is one of my favorite videos of all time. And yes y'all were correct about how the band got their name...The Young brothers Angus & Malcolm had an older sister who made the School Boy uniform for Angus. She made it with her sewing machine which in those days had a pedal or switch that could go from Alternating Current to Direct Current. So there is the name "AC/DC" I remember over 40 years ago some folks were "stupid" enough to think that it meant "anti-Christ, devil's child" wth??
I saw them a lot as a teenager in Melbourne Australia with the brilliant Bon Scott in the mid 70’s. They were all so young then and still kicked arse, they were so tight together and loving what they did and it showed. I was so lucky that I got to see them with Bon, he will always be it for me, the best frontman and singer. So spoilt in Australia for great music! Saw them at least 5 times!!
Angus McKinnon Young (born 31 March 1955) is an Australian musician, best known as the co-founder, lead guitarist, songwriter, and the only remaining founding member of the hard rock band AC/DC. He is known for his energetic performances, schoolboy-uniform stage outfits and his own version of Chuck Berry's duckwalk. Young was ranked 38th in the 2023 edition of Rolling Stone's 250 greatest guitarists of all-time list.[1] In 2003, Young and the other members of AC/DC were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
RIP Malcomb Young and Bon Scot you will never be forgotten first time seeing these in concert was 1979 and ten concerts later they are still rocking in their 70s yes they are in their 70s.
And Angus is still bangin his head, knees and his duck walk to this day! Privileged to see them in concert back in 1983 and one of the best concerts ever! AC/DC definitely Ain’t Noise Pollution! (Another AC/DC Favorite!)
"For those about to rock.. we salute you" 🇦🇺 i saw them in concert here in Australia 1991, the had a HUGE bell on stage for "hells bells" & at the end ACDC dollar bills rained down on us 🤘

AC/DC's song, "Back In Black" (the official video) is worth listening/reacting to as well....the heavy guitar/drum beat is heart pounding great! Cool reaction video as always....Angus (lead guitar) and his brother Malcolm (RIP)(rhythm guitar) can thank their sister for the costume Angus wears as it was her idea to have him wear something that would get the band noticed back in '73/'74....😎
That guitar riff that starts the song? If you listen close, he pays that riff for the ENTIRE SONG. That's Angus Young. He's one of the most famous stringers on the planet, known for his schoolboy outfit and his endless, nonstop hyper-kinetic energy. He does it for 3 hours straight at concerts. It's insane.
My sisters and I grew up from a young age listening to our mom’s vinyl album as kids and rock out. It was an amazing experience and was able to finally see them in concert in my 20’s.
I totally LOVE you guys! I'm a 61 year old Rock n Roll "chick" and watching you guys getting into all kinds of music is great and inspires me to do the same with genres I've never explored.
Had to answer your question on what Thunderstruck was about, it was inspired by a near-death experience. Guitarist Angus Young was travelling in a plane that got caught in a violent thunderstorm. Love this band. I have seen them 24 times and it never gets old
No where near my friend it's about the band or the boys on tour and having a good time "rock and roll" fucking standing up "shaking at the knees and can I come again please" a knee shaker standing up fucking and when you come your legs shake, bro come.
From a Nova Scotian - thanks for the shout-out to Nova Scotia at the beginning. Enjoyed the video and yes, Angus Young is widely regarded as one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time. If you can believe it, he was born in 1955.
Really need to do more AC/DC reactions... ESPECIALLY from their concert at River Plate. Basically any song from that concert is worth a reaction video.
Got to disagree - check out their live performance in Paris with Bon Scott. Old school ACDC - they were young, raw, an no one could match Angus's energy on stage. River Plate - the crowd is amazing but they are old and slow. th-cam.com/video/CfK6suUII0U/w-d-xo.html

AC/DC is my favourite band by far. i'm part of younger generation and we're trying to keep rock alive. thanks for helping the guitar community to do that. and the drum community and the rock 'n' roll community. if you really want an insane song o react to, watch nothing but a good time by poison
I remember when they were interviewing for Bon Scott's replacement on KISW after he passed away. I couldn't imagine anyone being able to do it, but he did it! I remember cranking up ACDC when I was learning to drive and my mom being super cool and patient while holding the seat with her hand really tight, lol.
Angus is absolutely legendary! One of the concerts I went to started with a statue of Angus as tall as the stage. It had horns, red lighted eyes and smoke coming out of the nose. I lost my voice screaming Angus that night, it was epic!
Never got the recognition the deserved? My dude, Back in Black is the second bestselling album of all time and the bestselling album for a band! They’re only beaten by Thriller.
AC/DC is one of those timeless bands that will continue to be played on radio long after we're all gone. Angus Young is one of the best guitar players in Hard Rock/Metal.
You need to see AC/DC Live to really see how good they are. I seen KISS twice and AC/DC three times. I’m not going to lie, KISS puts on an amazing show. AC/DC puts on by far the best Rock concert.
Got that the wrong way around, yes AC/DC put on an awesome concert but KISS are the better band and nobody comes close to their show Kiss #1 any day of the week, and that's no disrespect to AC/DC they're incredible too
"AC/DC" is an abbreviation meaning "alternating current/direct current" electricity. The brothers felt that this name symbolised the band's raw energy, power-driven performances of their music. "AC/DC" is pronounced one letter at a time, though the band are colloquially known as "Acca Dacca" in Australia.
Nope - they got the name off the back of their sisters sewing machine - there's no deep and meaningful there - how do I know? Because back in the 70's we all hung around together and that's how the name came about, don't believe me? Check it out.
You guys are freakin hilarious! Just wanted you to know that the lead guitarist, Angus, has been doing that infamous “Duck Walk” since the beginning of the this awesome group was formed in the later 70’s. I was fortunate enough to see them in concert waaaay back in 1981 in Southern Indiana and Angus walked his walk and banged his head for the entire concert. And still to this day he keeps walking and banging better than ever…God Bless His Heart! One of my experience’s I am still proud of having and kinda proud I can still remember in my late 50’s! (Shhhh, Don’t Tell anyone I’m that old! 😝) Watch the documentary about AC/DC and you will definitely be impressed, promise! I have to say .. as an old white woman.. it makes me want to hug these young men for actually LISTENING and APPRECIATING this older white rock band. LOVE THESE GUYS! ♥♥♥♥♥♥
I always love watching how people react to that first drop, when the song really starts going. It's almost like being on a roller-coaster, how the intro starts off a little slow, gradually ratcheting up the intensity, then that one moment of subdued sound before hitting you with that awesome guitar
With all respect... wait till you discover early ACDC, with Bon Scott on vocals and playing Australian pubs... you will not see more genuine Rock on the planet, and complete adoration for a band that were yet to make it big. It's like watching Tupac at his first gigs... complete mind-blowing discovery of a new genre. I have been listening to ACDC since I was 10 years old. They were the first band I saw live at the age of 12. They are legends in Australia. Go the Aussies 🇦🇺
3 of ACDCs original members were born and started school in Scotland, Their families immigrated to Australia and they met and started the band. You can actually see the Scottish influence in how similar Bonn Scotts delivery is to The Sensational Alex Harvey Band.....Bonn used to play the bagpipes on stage and in videos all the time. In fact David Byrne of Talking heads was born in Dumbarton Scotland just down the road from where I am currently living :)
You want to see a serious segment of AC/DC playing the song, Highway to Hell? Watch them perform at a 200,000 capacity crowd in Argentina, Live at the River Plate. Good call on the hat -- these guys were mostly from Scotland (hence the singer wearing a Scottish golf cap) and they moved to Australia when young with their families. The guys playing guitars (not bass) are brothers -- Malcolm (RIP) and Angus Young. The bass player has been with the band since 1977. You should check out their live songs from the 1970s with their 2nd singer, Bon Scott - his voice was awesome. Angus Young is dressed in a school boys outfit - from back in the day. AC/DC their name came from their sister's sewing machine --- they were trying to figure out a name and someone looked at her sewing machine and they saw -- AC/DC and the rest is history. Finally you listened to this we have all been telling you, too , , its just so much fun and energy and what a rock concert meant to be, Great song, and great playing music
I am a geezer and love watching your reaction to music from my younger days. You really need to hit up Santana - Soul Sacrifice 1969 Woodstock live. They were pretty much unknown at this event. Back story is that they all got high because they had a few hours before they were to go on stage. Shortly after they took their drug of choice they were told that they were to go on stage "now". LOL You can tell by the drummer that this story must be true but it didn't matter because they did an amazing performance that never gets old. Enjoy the experience. Keep doing what you are doing.
AC/DC is an awesome concert, saw them 3 times in my life. Y'all should watch AC/DC live from River Plate stadium in Argentina. That crowd rocks. Angus is in his mid 70's now.
"didn't lose anything" WHOA HORSEY!!! Not to diminish the Brian Scott era but MOST of their ALL TIME HITS were not only SUNG by BONN SCOTT but he WROTE the LYRICS to MOST of THEM INCLUDING "Hells Bells" (rerecorded AFTER Bonn's death!). How can you FAIL to notice how SIMPLISTIC & MONOTONOUS AC DC's songs became AFTER Bonn Scott was NO LONGER writing those FABULOUS LYRICS!! "A Long WAY to the TOP!" 'A little bit of SUZY", "Highway to Hell", etc... SO MANY...what kind of lyrics AFTER Bonn? some nonsense about "cats eyes" just to rhyme on Back in Black. That ONLY reason Back in Black was ANY good is that MOST of the tracks had already been laid down instrumentally and all of the vocals with Bonn were INFAMOUSLY ERASED and rerecorded with Brian Jones. The only new track WAS the title track Back in Black (as in mourning")
Angus Young must’ve been lying about his old friend Bon then when he said they never laid down any tracks or lyrics for Back in Black. His name is Brian Johnson by the way not Brian Jones
Acdc is from Scotland, but they did most of their older music in Australia! Their original singer Bon Scott died of alcohol poisoning and suffocated basically on his own vomit! Check out Highway to Hell with Bon Scott (studio version) After Bon died they thought everything was over until Brian Johnson showed up! Brian has been with ACDC since 1980! The first album with Brian is called Back N Black(5th best selling album of all time! Check out Back In Black, You Shook Me All Night Long, and Rock n Roll Aint Noise Pollution from the studio version first then check them out live! Stellar Album from start to finish! I'm 56 and started listening to ACDC in 1979 and haven't stopped yet! Phenomenal band! ACDC is Angus Young(lead guitar), Malcolm Young (rhythm guitar passed away from dementia), Brian Johnson lead vocals, Cliff Williams Bass guitar, and Phil Rudd drums!
They did all their music in Australia. Most members were born in Scotland or England, but when Angus was 8, his family moved to Australia. AC/DC formed in 1973 in Australia Very 1st record was High Voltage, with Bon Scott on vocals. Released in Australia 1975.
I've seen AC⚡DC live twice and it's a truely amazing experience hearing and seeing this track done live, the whole crowd and I mean the WHOLE crowd get into it, singing and bouncing along! One of the greatest rock songs of all time. Pure energy and power.
Oh yeah!
That's why they're called AC/DC. 😎

I agree. But Kiss is worth a listen. Their song “I Want to Rock & Roll all Night “ was one of their most popular. BTW the guy in the white shirt is right. 2:33 - No-one ever notices Angus is playing the opening guitar riff with one hand. He even changes key in the middle. He's not saluting the audience, he's saying, "Look ma, one hand."

Couldn't have put it better myself.

Love watching younger people fall in love with music from my youth! Such amazing memories. 🥰😉
Angus young was the youngest member of the band and would turn up to band practice in his school uniform, hence his stage presence in school uniform
AC/DC is an awesome concert, saw them 3 times in my life. Y'all should watch AC/DC live from River Plate stadium in Argentina. That crowd rocks. Angus is in his mid 70's now.
this is their 2nd lead singer and he is from the UK. AC/DC is one of the few bands that got a new singer and didn't lose anything from it.
Dave Evans was the original singer , Bon took over , then Brian
Yes UK and Australia
Chris Slade played drums on this one.

They did all their music in Australia. Most members were born in Scotland or England, but when Angus was 8, his family moved to Australia.
AC/DC formed in 1973 in Australia
Very 1st record was High Voltage, with Bon Scott on vocals. Released in Australia 1975.
The brother on the right is bang on. Alternating and direct current. That is with electonics. But when it becomes music....all bets are off. Cheers
This is one of those songs that never gets old. It still rocks!
I've seen AC⚡DC live twice and it's a truely amazing experience hearing and seeing this track done live, the whole crowd and I mean the WHOLE crowd get into it, singing and bouncing along!
Awesome as f!!
Ps. The Young brothers (guitars) are originally from Scotland and Brian Johnson (singer) is from Newcastle (England) 👍
It's so nice to see the young people to enjoy the best music from the 50s to the 90s
