Diane, saw AC/DC in 1978 with Bon Scott in a small concert venue in NJ USA. The metal boys were there as well as the punk rockers. Surprisingly, everyone got along with no fighting. Show was LOUD with high energy!
I saw them in concert back in the 80's, and if you think this video was something, their live performances took it to a whole new level. I have to admit to being surprised that you've never heard their music, it's been used in a number of movies (Avengers, etc.)
Angus Young's (the guitarist) brothers Malcolm and George were founding members of The Easybeats, so the whole family are Australian rock and roll royalty. Proudly Scottish but also proudly Australian. It's widely acknowledged that George Young and Harry Vanda meeting at the Villawood Hostel changed Australian music for the better.
If you really want to expand your insight & be completely blown away, the acoustic version by 2 Cellos is truly magnificent !! The video is set in the time of Mozart & the audience is split between stunned & mortified by what they're witnessing ! Thanks Diane! I enjoyed this song, and I like AC/DC’s music in general. They have a song “It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)” where Bon Scott plays the bagpipes which is pretty cool for a hard rock song. 😂

But, the band was formed in Melbourne and the band has always been based in Australia. Google AC-DC and it will say that they're an Australian band.
@@terryomalley1974 You can't just ignore the fact they were Scottish, Bon Scott too, and their brother George Young produced their early work. @SH-lm6ek I'll go with Scotstralian; however, Angus, Malcom and Bon Scott all lived in Australia since they were wee tots. You can tell be their accents in interviews.
This is a banger! I enjoyed seeing "Shocked Diane" again. You should also check out "Dirty Deeds, Done Dirt Cheap" from their earlier incarnation, with Bon Scott on vocals. Brian Johnson was the vocalist here. He joined after Bon Scott's death. I liked both eras of the band.

Glad they focused in on the quite miraculous guitar work of Angus Young. To repeat that riff over and over again just shows that he is one of the best guitarists of all time. Oh yes great track as well.
AC/DC are the most famous band in the world that you've never heard of. Creators of the 2nd-highest-selling studio album of all time (Back In Black) and unchallenged icons of Aussie music, but I imagine 90% of non-Australians these days won't even know them, even though they'll have undoubtedly heard their music somewhere or other (probably one of the MCU films, where Tony Stark was a big fan). It's time to educate yourself.

I'd like to report that I saw them at Wembley 3 weeks ago with 80,000 others and Brian (76) screamed for 2 hours with a smile on his face the whole time and Angus(69) played and danced around the stage like a kid with huge hair! Best time of our lives!
Ami me impresionó como metían perico por esa nariz😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I’ve been there and Brian was singing his heart out at 76 what a man
One of the very few bands out there that needs to be listened to at an ear-bloodening volume. Takes a lot out of any audio equipment to play their music in a decent way. Other than that, this is the exact song I needed to hear today. Thank you Diane :)
Aww well, believe it or not, Manuel, your comment has made my day!
Agreed, after work I used to put the top down of my convertible; pop in Thunderstruck; turn up the volume and be-bop down the road slammed by my hand against the steering wheel; bobbing my head all over and singing right along my with Brian at the top of my lungs!!!
When people looked over at me I kept right on jamming, thinking to myself, "Who gives a fu*#, They don't know me!!!"
@@berniej.rucker4252 The very definition of Rock And Roll!!! :)
I like how you watch the whole video before giving any type of critique. Not many people do that. Hats off to you. Glad you got to hear one of the greatest songs of all time.

Thunderstruck was released over 30 years ago, ACDC is one of the most famous bands. The song is still played nowadays ba radio stations all over the world, it was used for commercials... What cave do you have to live in not to have heard of it yet. 😀
I'm a big music guy and like AC DC. But for some odd reason this slipped passed me also. I had never heard this tune till the movie Battleship came out. Blew my mind that I'd never heard it when I found out when it was released. Now I have it downloaded and still can't hear it enough.

She did admit she had heard people playing the guitar riff before, maybe didn't know what song it was from. If she grew up on classical music this song may have not crossed her path somehow.
@@mrbyamile6973 Check the intro of the 2Cello's on youtube. Than you ill hear that classical cello music is going to hard rock very smooth. Even Angus enjoyed that transition.😉
I'd like to formally invite you to what we call REAL MUSIC.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME! I can't believe you've not heard any of their music before! Thunderstruck is my favorite. Thank you for this Diane!
Hells Bells, Thunderstruck, Highway To Hell, Back in Black, T.N.T, and Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap are their biggest and best songs.
There are so many songs from this band that are worthy of a listen. I could name at least 15-20 without trying hard. Thanks for getting this one out of copyright jail and into your catalog.
They may have been founded in Aussie but Brian lead singer took the lead after Bon passed. He's a Durham boy from Gateshead. he has a mega following up there in the north east of the UK. Listen to IT'S A LONG WAY TO THE TOP IF YOU WANT TO ROCK AND ROLL. epic song.by the late great Bon Scott lead singer and bagpipes It's one of those tunes you just wanna roll down your car windows and max out the volume to share this great tune.
See us old people aren't so bad. This is what we grew up listening too. And my head still bangs to it all these years later! Glad to see younger people enjoying the same music I grew up to. Great reaction!❤
I first heard AC/DC when I was 10, 1974. Almost 60 and still love them!
I was born in 1984, first heard them in 1994. Yet, still THUNDERSTRUCK)))
Diane, saw AC/DC in 1978 with Bon Scott in a small concert venue in NJ USA. The metal boys were there as well as the punk rockers. Surprisingly, everyone got along with no fighting. Show was LOUD with high energy!
Never been a hard-core handbanger but this song is one of the best I've ever heard pure energy
I saw them in concert back in the 80's, and if you think this video was something, their live performances took it to a whole new level. I have to admit to being surprised that you've never heard their music, it's been used in a number of movies (Avengers, etc.)
Also saw them in the 80’s. Johnson City, TN.
The memories!
The scene in Battleship when they were preparing Mighty Mo to confront the alien invaders
Also saw them in Seattle. Fantastic concert ❤
That whole album is bangers. You can't help but love that song. Makes you want to dance.
Malcolm wasn’t a member of the Easybeats.
I have been lucky enough to see these guys live twice. An experience of a life time. The energy was incredible. AC/DC were an incredible band.
I envy anyone who gets to hear AC/DC for the very first time. Must check out this song and many others Live at the River Plate in 2009.
Donington is another live performance worth watching.
No Bull concert in Spain too
If you really want to expand your insight & be completely blown away, the acoustic version by 2 Cellos is truly magnificent !! The video is set in the time of Mozart & the audience is split between stunned & mortified by what they're witnessing ! Both musicians are classically trained virtuosos & remarkable performers,a must see !!!
I love that video. And it gives a different but recognizable sounds to the song
Steve'n'Seagulls version is a foot stomper, too....
Yes, it is brilliant.
I was just showing that video to a friend of my a couple days ago!
Great cover my neices husband plays with a cellist doing many covers
Wow, first time for AC/DC, eh? Was hard to miss them in the states as they are now part of Pop Culture here in the USA and you can bump into them on TV, in the movies, commercials, they have been everywhere and it was easy to see why, as most people love them! Do Hell's Bells live at the River Platte for a great tune and bonkers crowd. They have tons of great tunes, enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶
Diane listens to AC/DC singing Thunderstruck
When she hears Brian Johnson’s vocals, she says WTF
She’s intrigued by their look and the video production
But they’re just a high energy band that needs no introduction
You absolutely nailed it with this one! 10 out of 10
@@DianeJennings See if you get a copy of "Let There Be Rock". You won't be disappointed.
the start of this song is my ringtone
As I recall, that singer was hired to replace the original singer who passed. And one of the main reasons is because his voice is remarkably similar to the original singer.
Loved your energy in this one! Made me smile big!
Ya!!! someone was explaining that below. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I enjoy the journey with you.
Your face perfectly summed up what I felt as a 5 year old when I first heard AC/DC! 48 years later, still one of my most favorite bands. So glad you enjoyed it!
We can all thank Butt-Head for starting the AC/DC t shirt fashion trend
Butt-head started it for a new generation perhaps, but by 1981 they were all over. I was at a concert, can’t remember who bc they were opening act, but singer had on AC/DC shirt. This was 1982-83.🙂
Umm no. The shirts were a common shirt decades before that
I was wearing one when I saw them on the Highway to Hell Tour that I got from the previous tour
Your reaction to first hearing Brian Johnson's voice is the price of gold.
Same reaction I had!
Glad you got to see this, glad you got a view of Angus Young's antics.
Please look further into this band's catalogue!
Love from the US!
Wish she would refer more to Bryan Johnsons vocals in this then bringing up Bonn Scott who wasn't part of this song
Thanks Diane! I enjoyed this song, and I like AC/DC’s music in general. They have a song “It's a Long Way to the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)” where Bon Scott plays the bagpipes which is pretty cool for a hard rock song. 😂
Oh wow! The bagpipes? That is super cool.
That would be because Angus and Malcolm Young were all born in Scotland - so bagpipes are their heritage.
@@angharaddenby3389 I did not know that. Thanks!
@@angharaddenby3389No, the producer learnt that Bon Scott was in a bagpipe band and wanted to include bagpipes in the song. Scott of course obliged, however he didn,t tell him he was a DRUMMER in a band!

This is one of those historic, iconic songs that even if you aren't familiar with, or a fan of AC/DC, or don't know the name of the song, you can't help but recognize the tune. It's quite literally everywhere.
Actually, you were not watching Bon Scott as the lead singer in that video. That was Brian Johnson. He was hired after the tragic passing of Bon Scott. Those guys are icons and legends. Rock gods.
Bon Scott. Saw AC/DC in Oakland coliseum in late 70’s before he died. It was awesome. He was the best! 🇺🇸
Saw them perform last Saturday and it was one of the best damn nights. I don’t care how old angus and Johnson is, they still put up a damn good show. Johnson still had his voice and angus still shredding . It felt surreal seeing them perform and still can’t believe I had the chance to see them.

How can you not be a fan of one of the greatest rock songs in the history of music?!
ACDC is not a heavy metal band though? But yeah, she must have heard it before. It's everywhere even if you don't like it. On the radio, in films and series, in games even, commercials, instagram as tracks etc etc
Especially since they're in so many movies.
The entire soundtrack for Steven King’s Maximum Overdrive is AC/DC’s Who Made Who album❤❤❤

@stevenfox6278 the Scots, Angus and Malcom Young, were born in Scotland, but their family moved to Australia when they were little kids. Yes, Brian Johnson is an English man. But, the band was formed in Melbourne and the band has always been based in Australia. Google AC-DC and it will say that they're an Australian band.

Growing up in Australia, even in the early 2000s, AC/DC was the most music my brother and I listened too, there are a even more Australian Bands that are extremely popular as well such as Midnight Oil, INXS, Men at Work, Bee Gees, The Angels, Cold Chisel, Australian Crawl, Jet, Crowded House, Daddy Cool there’s so many bands that have created songs that are known worldwide.
The 80s & 90s Melbourne, Sydney & Newcastle culture created one of the most unique rock I think.

They are the best live. I have seen them 7 times.

Glad they focused in on the quite miraculous guitar work of Angus Young. To repeat that riff over and over again just shows that he is one of the best guitarists of all time. Oh yes great track as well.
This is one of the Iconic songs of GenX. The Dead, Pink Floyd, Steve Miller, Areosmith, Alice Cooper and yeah, AC/DC.
