The lcr was my edc for summer carry for years until I gave it to my daughter. Everything else I carry tarnishes from sweat since I work outside doing lawn care and landscaping. My sig ultra compact was covered with beads of water when I pulled it out of the leather holster last night. Need another lcr I guess.
Great gun I have it in 357. I can carry it IWB with basketball shorts so light and small . Unless the 4oz are absolutely necessary I don't see a reason to by the .38spl model. Just get it in .357 the added weight should help with recoil and you always have the option of of 357mag.
The additional few ounces of weight of the steel .357 Magnum model would help steady the gun, as well, even if shooting only 38 Spec.+P loads. I'd be very wary of shooting actual .357 ammo in a gun this light (unless you like pain).
I've got to ask, how much have you actually practiced shooting .357s out of your LCR? The +P .38s alone can get pretty snappy during a long range session in the regular LCR.
'Interesting that in watching where the laser is hitting the target, each round hits far from that point. It appears very difficult to hold the lightweight snubbie steady-enough to stop the laser from bouncing uselessly all over the target. Maybe a simple, high-visibility front sight (fiber optic or tritium) would be more useful for a lightweight snubbie?
I really want the 357 LCR for EDC. Laser grips just aren't for me. I would add the green fiber-optic front sight, instead. Also, not a fan of appendix carry, but to each their own. Thanks for the great review. Great job of packing a ton of information into a short video. A 35 minute video isn't necessary to be effective. Thank you!
I got the green fiber-optic front sight on mine and LOVE IT.
I didn't buy this for a range gun. Bought it for self-defense. Maximum distance about 12 ft. Can't make an excuse for any greater.

I love my (Ruger LCR .38 cal)...!!!
The 327 mag version is best choice followed by the 9mm version if want have common 9mm ammo.
