    She's looking great buddy, love the carpet. Also love the idea of the wooden side panels.

    Really enjoying your videos, I would stick with it and overcome any problems, I have a 23 foot boat in Morecambe Bay, the problems over the past three years you wouldn’t believe, even during a storm ripped its moorings and damaged all the bow, it’s now all fixed with new samson post and fibreglassed, I’m glad to say now after three years and I’m very confident on Boating at sea and learned so much, regarding the boat windows are used, stainless rivets and silk flex and up to now they have been fabulous and without any leaking, originally the boat had glass windows with rubber seal, which degraded over time, the one thing I need is what you have on your about, is the windshield front screen, which is difficult to find, good luck with the Boating and look forward to your next video.

      Thanks for the comment and subscription. It’s always encouraging to hear how others had problems when starting and have since become confident and competent. Cheers

      Thanks for the complimentary words really appreciated as I’ve put some hours into the boat. I’m sure you will get on with the itiwit, it’s a proper stable kayak

    If ever you're in Worcester, you're more than welcome to either join us for a day out, or to take my little boat out on the Severn.
    You know what you're doing and thank you for the vids.
    Mines only 15hp, but plenty for the Severn in Worcs.

    Beautiful job great boat.
    Two questions one I didn't see a burner for fixing food along with a cooler of sone sort.
    The other item is if your spending nights aboard I didn't see a Porta potty.

    • @thecockneykayaker2239

      I have a gas burner in one of the storage cuddles and if I go away for a few nights i put my porta potti on the boat. It’s not a permanent fixture though just as and when required

    Awesome boat! Nice to see you are uploading mate! I have done the front windows on my 535 in storms and everything as it was leaking bad and they were the biggest pain in the arse ever haha. It pays to buy the window fitting tool as without it you will split the rubbers easily. The front windows seem to be a pain to fit the sides are surprisingly easier probably to do with shape

    Very nice and tidy boat. I've a 20 hp Tohatsu 4 stroke on mine which is also economic. Agree about the windows they don't really suit it. Well done on the refurb.

    Hi mate
    I'm looking at one of these boats this week.
    Needs redoing in cabin and I like the look of how yours is done, what type of carpet is it on the sides and ceiling and how easy is it to do ? Also where are the two seats from on the deck. Cheers Darren

    • @thecockneykayaker2239
      @thecockneykayaker2239  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The carpet is standard 4 way stretch used in camper vans. Comes in various colours and needs to be applied using contact adhesive. Make sure you use the high temperature adhesive or it is likely to unstick when the temperature gets high. It’s quite a simple job but you need bundles of patience. The seats were purchased from eBay and are brilliant. All the best for the project.

      Just a standard foil that you stick to the fibreglass with a spray adhesive. Can be purchase from flea bay or Amazon. Same stuff which is used for camper van conversions

    What’s the rough cost of a nice one of these in looking for a cabin cruiser been looking at these and the Norman 20 I’m thinking 25-40hp will cut it as I’m on the Norfolk broads and up braydon water it’s tidal so you need the power to cross to the Norfolk side of the broads from the south side I got a picton 15ft speed boat with 70hp dose 55 notts poking forward to towing it behind for abit of wakeboarding or the rubber 🍩 haha 💪🏻

    • @thecockneykayaker2239
      @thecockneykayaker2239  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good question. Although these are great little boats they are still over 50 years old so most will look tired. When the odd one comes up that had been refurbished and a decent well serviced four stroke I’d expect to pay around 3-4k, maybe the higher end if it’s on a roadworthy trailer. Buying a project boat and doing a refit is the way to go in my opinion but it’s a lot of work

    Carbon monoxide is heavier than air, - swap the Carbon monoxide detectors place with the smoke alarm (or get it lower if you can). 😊

    Do you find your mph on the boat is about 3 to 4mph higher than Google?

    • @thecockneykayaker2239
      @thecockneykayaker2239  ปีที่แล้ว

      Probably 2-3 mph but there is definitely a discrepancy mate. I’ve ordered a new, mire modern digital clock for the boat so fingers crossed 🤞

    • @MoreThanJustaCleaner
      @MoreThanJustaCleaner ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thecockneykayaker2239 you'll likely find it makes no difference. When you go through one of those sites signs in your car, the ones that flash your speed at you, they show the same speed as Google maps, which is around 3mph faster than the clock speed. Apparently car speedometers are set a bit slower because of variations in speed caused by tyre pressure and condition.
      Obviously a boat doesn't have tyres, so it might be different in a boat- I'm not sure - I look forward to hearing how this turns out 😁👍

    That hatch on your boat is not the original one as it came with a solid one, also i understand the high full cover on the boat but as its attached to the windscreen and pulling on it it will fail at some point, they came with a tonnau cover original and i would never attach such a large cover to my screen specially as your seems to be held with only a few screws/bolts.
    I just repainted mine as i don't like white or the dark blue they came in.

    • @thecockneykayaker2239
      @thecockneykayaker2239  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not overly concerned about the the canopy being attached to the screen. The screen is well secured with 5 stainless bolts whilst the canopy is a perfect fit, it’s taught but not overly taught to the screen. It is also has bungees either side for additional support. I’ve seen plenty of canopies fitted in this exact way so it’s obviously popular.

      Ayup mate I know you’ve covered most things but could you please make a video about how to improve your Shetland. Maybe a extra birth/ bed like a pull down or making extra space to convince people/ my missus that it’s more than just a little floating plastic thing, because she’s not too convinced about me getting one but I’m sure you can do something that would help her consider it’s a little bit than just a man’s fishing boat that smells like poo and fish.. Thanks 🙏
