I am now the owner of a Shetland 4+2 project boat. Join me for a look around the inside as I scratch my head and ponder on what to do to modernise her.
You made me laugh watching this. The way you keep saying I hate that and I don't like this and that looks horrible, a lot of people would think why the hell did you buy it then. However, like you, I can see the potential in this boat and I'm sure it will look amazing once you have completed the work. I'm looking forward to watching you transform her in to the Boat of your dreams. On a side note I use (The Pink Stuff) Great for removing stubborn stains.
I think the bits that I dislike are a reasonably cheap fix. For instance, to have all the furnishings professionally cleaned and that horrible carpet dyed is just £175.00 and I already have a solid beech worktop for the galley which will transform it and give it a modern touch. The boat is proper solid and offers a great foundation to turn it into my pride and joy….i hope 😂😂
All new build boats seem to be using malaga caravan water heaters and ironically ive just removed mine as we never used it and it let rain water in. If you do fit a malaga the outside cowl needs to be completely vertical to stop rain ingress. BTW Were you just lucky that your trailer fit both boats or was it planned? 😀

I’m off to a boat jumble that have new trade stands so will see what my options are if any. Just lucky with the trailer
Is there a bilge pump on the boat?
Surprisingly there isn’t. I will be installing one though
