A shout out from the "Dirty D". Been fishin the Cali Delta for over 30 yrs. The greatest fishery in the west! Sure wish you guys fished out here more often. Good luck sir! I'm always in your corner!
I have been flipping four a few years but never felt comfortable. Based on some things you’ve said I switched up one my favorite rods to use which is a Bass Pro 7-3 medium heavy, put 25 lb fluorocarbon on it, Texas rid with a 3/16 or 1/4 oz weight and 4 ot straight shank hook, with either a Crush City Bronco Bug or Clean Up Craw. And since this change I have fell in love with flipping or pitching. That Clean Up Craw is the 💣.
Mark, I threw a Texas rig worm on a 7 foot medium action rod about 35 feet from the boat and hooked up with a monster bass. I had the bass in open water and just held on. I was using 14 pound test clear mono. This grandma bass pulled me hard so I just held on. I got her close to the boat reached down and lipped her into the boat. She was 11.8 pounds. My PB. Boy was I trilled. I got the same trill when I watched her swim away after a couple pictures taken. Imagine, 12 pound test on mono!!!!!!!!
Awesome set up videos! Thank you. I still consider myself new to fishing at 44 and I struggle getting the Carolina rig and drop shot set up and technique down. I would love to see some tips on those. Thanks again! Routing for you!!
Big thanks MDJ for sharing all the knowledge. I enjoy all of you and your boys videos. I do appreciate your easy laid back style explaining things. I learn a little something in every drop. Much love from Guntersville. We are always rooting for you and the boys. I feel like you re about to hoist the big trophy. I can’t wait to watch and cheer when you do
Thanks Mark for your suggestions. Back in the 70's & 80's jig n pig was one of my favorite baits. Just got a Ranger361V two years ago & started fishing again but haven't thrown one yet. My wife like to fish so been throwing crankbaits & spinnerbaits it's easy for her to learn. Plus moving more which she likes. Thanks for sharing 👍 Good luck this season 👍
I love these informative videos. I'm still a beginner bass fisherman. Im on my third year of bass fishing and really getting into jigs hear lately. Good luck the rest of the season.
Great video bro and very informative. Man good luck fishing these tournaments. Don’t give up you are going to win because you have a that positive mindset and attitude. Much luck and God bless you.
Love this channel and love this video focused on jigs, bigs and heavy gear! The way I was raised and the way I’m teaching my boys. Thank you and good luck at the next stop!!
Appreciate everything you do man! Great and helpful info all the time! I follow and watch you, DC, Jacob, and Adrian! You and Dc my favorite lol 🤫 rooting for you to bring home that next red trophy! Good luck buddy!
Honestly I normally have at least 2 jigs on my deck at all times... it's a combination of finesse jig and heavy cover flipping or football jig and sometimes it's all of those and a swim jig. I love my livescope but growing up in the SW Louisiana/E Texas area I've caught some absolute giants on jigs a few of which were double digits. So regardless of advancements in technology or techniques a jig will always be apart of my starting lineup. Great video as always keepem coming brother!!!
Honestly, 90% of my Jig fishin is with a Chatter wagon. Lol. Need to step up my Jig game n this videos is full of juicy nuggets, thank you n keep up the good work bud. Left Coast Love man
MDJ big fan! I like the crew as well. Not big on superstition, but go back to the sneaks "Nike Prestos" when weather permits! Lol! If you feel good you play good! That DUB "W" is coming soon!
Preciate the tips bub! What do you recommend to do to prevent bird nesting while trying to flip I’ve tried anything I can think of but still spending more time untangling then fishing?
Hey Mark, I’ve recently come across you and become a huge fan. I’m a Bay Area Cali boy myself and rootin for you and the boys. Question on line, for my flippin I’ve leaned toward heavy braid? Any reason why you choose fluorocarbon? Thanks buddy, good luck!
I bet your a blast to fish with! My wife has FTD and My fishing has come to a screeching stop. My Bass boat has been out in 5 years. New Garmin electronics, ( out of warranty) new Batteries and new tackle. Sad😢 One day soon, maybe!
I’ve never been a jig fisherman but i have recently gotten interested in it. I always hear people talking about the heavier line from 15-20+lb and trying to figure that out when most of the reels i have are recommend 12lb .31mm 120yd max line, so how are you running so thick of line when essentially you will have less line spooled?
Mark, you mentioned West Point and I watched some of the coverage of the event. I'm puzzled though several of y'all showed a zero on day 2 but I saw y'all catch scorable bass and weigh them on the telecast, what was the deal?
Hey mark i have a question for you so i am a co-angler and my question is if i am looking for lets say 3 good bites then why do people say not to use a jig i understand if your boater is using one then go to something else but what is your advice thanks
I say man float a zoom worm June bug or black dude when I want a few bites I always get a few with that. Lol you may not want my advice but just thought I may could help you because dude it will catch them down in South Carolina keep catching them biggens
Hey cuz I got me a boat I'm coming over to show it to you when ever you come back home I'm going to come and see you fish the Red Crest to love you cuz and be safe out on the water.

I remember meeting MDJ so nice took time to talk fishing with us and look forward to running into u again
Great video. That 7’3” with 17lb line really is a great all around. I fish from the bank so that’s my go to rod when making long casts.
As one of those "old school" guys.... I Love my pig and jig. How about hit a little on the pig portion. For years it was the old uncle Josh pork.
Awesome set up videos! Thank you. I still consider myself new to fishing at 44 and I struggle getting the Carolina rig and drop shot set up and technique down. I would love to see some tips on those. Thanks again! Routing for you!!

Could you do something at a store on what to look for in a rod? So if you wanted a jig rod but didn't know what to look for.
Thanks for the tips and tricks Mark! The haters need to take a long walk on a short peer!

I’m curious if you always leave your big motor tilted up during your down time? I wouldn’t think there is any down side to that?
Mark, you mentioned West Point and I watched some of the coverage of the event. I'm puzzled though several of y'all showed a zero on day 2 but I saw y'all catch scorable bass and weigh them on the telecast, what was the deal?
bass also love trout too
I was hoping that you would cover the jigs after the last rate the bait, here in Vermont I am getting ready, the ice is almost all gone, good job bud
We try to keep it relevant to time of year!
I love a jig. It's one of my favorite techniques to use. Then I got with a Chatterbait
I fish out of kayak and am 30 minutes away from Lake Champlain, any tips on what to throw? I havent bass fished it yet
I am switching to 25 pound test now! I use 15 or 17 now....
Would you rather throw a jig vs. Texas rig worm?
Hey mark i have a question for you so i am a co-angler and my question is if i am looking for lets say 3 good bites then why do people say not to use a jig i understand if your boater is using one then go to something else but what is your advice thanks
