Hair growth tips : Start your day with at least two eggs for breakfast. Eggs are a nice source of protein, which helps to increase hair growth. Additionally, try to eat 1 cup of yogurt. Yogurt is packed with vitamins and minerals, which helps to grow hair and also keep the hair shiny and beautiful. In the evening, apply serum of reactivate of liitllextra containing rosemary and various ingredients. This works all the time.

I am a pharmacist that makes topical Fin but here is the important point: I make liposomal formulation that keeps the drug local to almost undetectable systemic levels so no side effects....you can get it in Italy but quite expensive and 3 month wait.

@@johndupont8596 Hello. I'm going to try it out. I started the treatment with minxodil+topical finasteride+coconut oil today. My objective is just maintenance but If some hair growth comes as a result I'll be happy too. The coconut oil will suppress part of the serum DHT (it's DHT block effectiveness is dose-dependent according to a study done in mice) and the local suppression will be achieved with the 0.025% topical finasteride. I think with that finasteride concentration the possibility of getting any sides is minimal. Finally, the minoxidil and Dermaroller will be implemented as hair growth stimulants.
There are a lot of people that combine minoxidil and finasteride in a higher concentration but even though don't get any real results. A study proved that a group of those that don't get any result of that combination was submitted to treatment with minoxidil and microneedling so that the satisfactory results came out. That's why I want to cover every kind of gap in the treatment. I hope that my hair loss reach a stability point as sooner as possible.
If everything goes better I'll try to discontinue the finasteride usage slowly because I don't want to use that thing for my whole life, even though I don't think If the scientific community knows all the finasteride consequences in long term consume.

@Jay K Hello. I'm not suffering any of those sides. I think that's very diffcult to get them with such amount of finasteride absorption. My hairloss is finally reducing though.
After a time I reduce the coconut oil comsuption, I'm dermarolling once evey two weeks and I increase finasteride concentration from 0.0125% to 0.025%. But in order to cover the entire scalp with the topical solution, I'm using 2 ml, then the daily finasteride comsuption amount is equivalent to half of a pill (0.025*2).

Topical minoxidil plus finasteride helped me get my hair density back. Trim all your hair and spray it on head and massage it gently. Our scalp absorbs liquids 4 times faster than the skin of other parts of body due to which you need to apply it twice a day. You have to do this two times a day. You will see the result after 60 days. Its my personal experience. I dont know if it will suit you or not.

Is it possible that post-finasteride syndrome is confused with the long time the drug remains on the skin? It is said that a simple dose of 1mg can remain on the skin for at least 30 days, so daily intake would lead to an over-accumulation in the body. In addition, it takes 3-6 months for the body to rid itself of the drug.

Overall in the comments, as well as in the video I feel like there is a general imprecision with regards to dosing. 0.1%, 0.25% or whatever else are not "doses", they are concentrations. It's the strength of a certain preparation. If you have a 0.1% solution, but are applying 10 mL all over your scalp morning and night, you are exposing yourself to WAY more finasteride than someone using 0.25% and applying 1 mL once per day (and you are much more likely to get side effects...). For example at the end of the video the Dr says something like "I even heard of side effects with 0.25%", but that means nothing...is the person applying a bucketload on their head, or are they using 0.1 mL? It makes all the difference. Can't compare apples to oranges

      @lakshminarayan1564 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Even if it does, it should be less logically. With Topical, the amount of Finasteride that could eventually get into your blood stream is less compared to Oral because with oral your body should digest it then absorb it and it gets into blood stream and then reaches your scalp in this process Finasteride reaches other parts of your body too whereas with topical its direct and then the residual concentration enters the blood stream and to cause the side effects the appropriate tissues should absorb it at a certain level to have a reaction so the odds are less for that to happen not sure by how much. If your thinning area is small then the amount that gets into your blood stream is even lesser as you would be just applying to Thinning areas. Also, in no case no matter how bad your hair loss is you would not be applying to the entire scalp as your back and sides are not effected by DHT so Finasteride has no effect and if you have bald spots with dead hair follicles then there is no point of applying it either.

The chances of the DHT, that was produced in the liver, affecting the hair follicles of the scalp are, as per the scientific findings, negligible to none. The reason behind this is that the DHT that does shrink the hair follicles of the scalp is produced endogenously, i.e. it is produced within the cells of the hair follicles. The DHT that gets transferred to the hair follicles, via bloodstream, from some other part of the body will probably not lead to the shrinkage of hair follicles. So, topical finasteride should work fine as it is applied directly on the scalp, gets absorbed by the skin, and then gets transferred to the hair follicles. Over there, the endogenous production of DHT will be hampered. The exogenous DHT, as per scientific studies, won't affect the hair follicles anyway.

Hi I notice you say that hairs miniturised by more than 50% cannot recover with treatment, but I have to say that in my case this is not what I've experienced. I have experienced significant regrowth at my temples, where my hair was in some areas completely gone and in others greatly miniturised, through a regime of dermarolling with a 1.0mm needle once per week and using a 15% minoxidil 0.1% finasteride solution on this area on days when I don't dermaroll, and I've only been doing this for 2.5 months. I have read that with these treatments it usually takes longer to see full results, so I am optimistic to say the least. Perhaps I won't recover the hairline I had at 17, but I'm doing much better than should theoretically be possible

Maybe someone here is knowledgeable enough and can help me with this...
I never understood the whole "scalp 5-AR" and "serum 5-AR" thing. Hair follicles are no different than any other functionnal unit in the whole body: a hair follicle is a collection of epithelial cells whose function is to make and maintain a hair shaft. Like any other cells, they get their nutrients/molecules from adjacent blood capillaries. DHT is abundant in the blood stream, and so the follicles are perpetually exposed to it, at all times. In that case, what the hell does "scalp 5-AR" change? Wether or not T is metabolized into DHT within the scalp (whatever that even means...in the interstitium space...on the surface of follicular epithelial cells...??) seems irrelevant to me, because there is DHT in the bloodstream at all times and so the follicles are also exposed to it at all times, whether or not the "scalp 5-AR" is being antagonized or not. Doesn't make sense to me. If anyone can help?

    • @imrankhanissm

Exactly doesn't make sense. I believe topical fin is being absorbed into the body and reducing dht at systemic level not only in the scalp. not sure though

If Finasteride stops working, after some years for example,it could be the reason because you get a resistance to the drug (a resistance to the 5ar blockers) from the longtime use and then you need to upper the dose, for making it possible to work again? Or it possibly won’t happen ? Thank you docs !

As we know Androgenetic Alopecia is a progressive disease, I don't know if that is related to the increase of 5ar receptors or serum DHT concentration or both. In any case, it's reasonable that some people will experience a change with the medicine response overtime. Maybe that is the case of increase the dosage or combine it with other treatments that are working as micro-needling, for example. There is a study that shows the efficacy of the treatment on micro-needling with minoxidil combined when the conventional one failed (minoxidil+finasteride). www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4458936/

Hi John. Yes we do. Topical finasteride is generally not our number one option. We will generally try an oral version first. If the person cannot tolerate it, then we would consider switching to a topical version. We have many patients who are quite happy with it.

I’ve seen some research saying it reduces scalp dht much more and much less goes systemic. Seems like it would be a no brainer to use topical if this is true.

Hey again, guys! Thanks for the previous response to my comment regarding HDL. I have another question I hope you can answer: I did some searching and apparently you can mix topical finasteride yourself simply by grinding the pills and adding it to a solution such as the one that exists in minoxidil. Is this truly gonna get finasteride absorbed or won’t it permeate the skin?

I literally just grinded up 15 one mg minoxidil pills and added them to a fresh 60ml bottle of minoxidil lol. I plan to try it out for the first time tomorrow morning. Should come out to 0.025% and if I keep applying minoxidil twice a day then that will be equivalent to 0.5mg of finasteride applied topically.

It makes sense to use Dutasteride to inhibit 5AR1 and block more DHT, because as Dr.Russell said, DHT from other organs can also affect hair via blood.
PS - Liver have 5AR1 not 5AR2 and finasteride only inhibits 5AR2.

DHT is not a direct cause of baldness. DHT has many benefits to the body. The problem is DHT activates TGFBeta1in the scalp. Inactivating all DHT, for argument, would not be a healthy move. DHT is vital to health.
