These two are the most honest genuine no bullshit Drs for hair loss I’ve ever come across.
I suffered hair loss from a young age and used finasteride near 20 years ago. I was a super responder and my hair seemed to grow back while I was on it, I managed to keep a lot of my hair well into my late 30s. Now in my late 40s I’ve decided to let nature take its course. Although I have just started a course of Fin again just to see how much I can thicken it out.
The information these guys give is second to none. And took scouring the internet and books to find 20-30 years ago

I started using this “Amy Grow” hair oil in college and left it behind for newer brands. I’ve had some thinning due to braids and decided to go back and re-try this oil and I wish I had never left. I like the smell of the natural oil. This natural oil does not smell like coconuts or birthday cake or fruit like many other hair products. Instead, it smells earthy and natural and I prefer that. I would not say this is an instant miracle oil, but I have seen growth with regular use and massaging of my scalp. Yes, it is oil, but it also helps to soften my coarse, kinky hair, but I can see it being greasy if you have a smoother texture or straighten your hair. I would not apply this at bedtime because it can stain your sheets. Instead, I apply it in the morning so it has time to absorb during the day. Overall I highly recommend this “Amy-Grow” natural hair oil. It’s affordable, the ingredients are natural and it can assist growth. The amount you apply depends on your texture and style, so start with a couple of drops and go from there.

I'm 24 and my hair at front is what you could describe as NW 3- highly receided tempes while quite thick hair at the middle and crown. My dad has Norwood 3 I would say (49 years old), my grandfathers had thick hair till death with only natural mature hairline (NW1,5/2) but uncles have NW4 and going futher so there are balding genes in my family for sure.
I was so scared of finasteride it took me many months to finally start proper treatment. Now I'm one month on finasteride+minoxidil+ketoconazole and I already see less hair falling on daily basis. Thank you for all these videos, very informative and professional. I just want to keep my head full of hair till i am 40 or 45. After that, i really don't care if i have hair or not, because i have already lived my youth and i am ready to enter the next stage of the Human life, growing old.
At that point, i just want to eat healthy and exercise so i don't have to rely on too many medicines and assistance into my old age.
I am currently 25, already started experiencing hair thinning and hair loss, i haven't taken any medication yet, but i will probably start with micro-dose of fin and maybe bump it up to 1mg if i don't see much effect.
I don't plan on taking fin for my entire life, it is completely unnecessary.
Just keep your hair while you are young, and if you want, you can try and keep it into your 50's and 60's, but that's just too much toll on your body. Let nature take its course at that point.

So since I’m 22 with a Norwood 5 and my dad is a Norwood 5 or 6 and he is 62 years old. And my mother’s, brother’s one is I believe 54 years old and the other one is 50 years old. The younger brother my other uncle, had a Norwood 6 pattern when he was 43 years old I looked at pictures and he had and still has high sides and large donor area (I saw in person) and a few hairs meaning like 10 left but they were spread out, still on the top of his head. My other uncle that is 54 years old right now he has a Norwood 6 pattern I’m pretty sure because he still has high sides and a small patch on frontal forelock. So my question is since they are high Norwood’s but not Norwood 7 (I don’t think) and they are in there 50s and my dad is in his 60s. Am I only programmed to go up to a Norwood 5 or 6? and then my male pattern baldness has stopped and then I can get a transplant?

No. There is no way of predicting. My father is a Norwood 6-7. I just drew the genetic lottery. Family history can give you an idea but no guarantee.

Hello doctors! I started finasteride 2 weeks ago 1MG per day. First 5 days of taking it I had unrelenting heart palpitations... not 100% sure they were heart palps but I had jumping in my chest anyways (without pain) that lasted for this number of days. Have not had absolutely any other problems associated with the medication since. Feel great. Was wondering if you have heard of this happening or could shed some light on what happened to me? I figure it was just my body adapting in some weird way. Thank you for your time!

J Allson Sure thing. This may be a tough pill to swallow (pun intended) but in the weeks after this comment all hell broke loose. I was so determined to continue and fought on and on... lowering the dose etc... I finally threw in the towel on July 14th. As of August 29th, I am just now feeling normal again and hope I continue to recover. Severe insomnia, forgetfulness, memory loss, slowed thinking, poor attention, sexual shutdown, climaxes that felt no better than passing gas (no joke). It was like I didn’t sleep for months yet at the same time I was so wired it was like I drank several cups of coffee. Roughly 5 and a half months on the drug. Hair never changed. I have diffuse thinning. I am hoping to consult a qualified dermatologist this time to get to the bottom of the cause of thinning in my personal case. May not even be MPB for sure anyways. Wasted my whole year torturing myself with this medication, not that 2020 has been worth “enjoying” anyways. Ha!

My question is does Finasteride help maintain the existing hair after the surgery? I’m hoping that surgery fills in the empty spots and then FIN will help in maintaining the rest. Also, I’ve been using Nioxin for sometime now, and want to know if that shampoo also helps to maintain. Any other medications/shampoos in the market o should consider? Thank you in advance.

    Hey doc.
We know that the main reason for MPB is the DHT. However there are some people saying that testosterone can also cause hairloss. Is that true? Can testosterone also bind to androgen receptors in the scalp and cause miniaturization? Thanks guys from Germany

Guten Tag! It is not testosterone that causes the problem. That said, testosterone will convert into DHt which can cause the miniaturisation. Hope that helps.

No. Testosterone is responsible for masculine features like heavier voice, higher muscle density, bone density, Adam's apple, and body hair growth. By that definition we would only grown either more hair around the crown and face edges or increase the thickness or length of the follicles that's readily present.

@@hoejackborseman1059 DHT does those things as well.

Yes, it can actually, but to a lesser extent ( all androgens do, hence the name androgenic alopecia. Test is approx 8 times less androgenic than DHT). However some people are more T senstive than average, and this is all down to genetics.

@@chris-nx1nk What makes genetics sensitive to DHT for some other men? There have to be explaination in detail rather than blaming just genetics which is absurd, irrelevant and illogical

Can we use finasteride for life long?
