It is pretty obvious what FOM is trying to do and it is extremely vile. All teams agreed to the last Concorde Agreement and now that the value of F1 teams have become overinflated they want to capitalize on that by denying Andretti. Using only subjective reasoning to be able to stall just long enough for them to draft a new Concorde Agreement so they can charge Andretti a higher fee. Mark my words if Andretti doesn't get approved before the new draft then as soon as it is finalized F1 will invite Andretti with open arms.

I think moving the goal post is a understatement started out with “ you don’t have the facilities “ once that was no longer an issue it became “ you don’t bring any value on your own “ they brought Cadillac. Than it became “ it’s a glorified sponsorship, they need to make your engine” than GM pledges to make the engine in 2028. Than it became “ it’s too much of a burden in Renault “ when Renault themselves said they’re fine with it even if it’s short term as they need the money. And FINALLY it became “ it’s too much of a burden in race promoters” when the Concorde agreement was designed to allow 12 teams, let alone 11 meaning FOM hasn’t even following the Concorde agreement that they’re using to reject Andretti to begin with

@@Reiver-93 agreed. There is zero aspectation of a young talent to get into F1 when there are teams not willing to gamble on a rookie and trowing in the same old experienced drivers into the cars.
Like Hülkenberg comming back to the sport and now even signed with Audi. Magnussen comming back and driving like a maniac right now disgracing. Seargent having no skills to be in F1 and just drivinng here because hes American (altough that seems to be comming to an end soon). Stroll just driving because daddy owns the team and hurting the championship.
Of the 20 drivers in F1 now, atleast 3-4 could be kicked straight away and replaced by talented rookies from F2.
The last influx of fresh blood was the Max Verstappen era with Norris/Lecrec/Russel/Albon/Ocon/Gasley who all drove together in karting and lower formula championships. The only suprise we have had now was Piastri, who thankfully got stolen by McLaren instead withering away at Alpine.

The other issue that Liberty Media has is their other company is currently being scrutinized by lawmakers in the US for monopolistic behaviour with Ticketmaster. They are already kinda on the wrong side of things and if lawmakers want, they can use this case as ammunition in that case cause honestly there is no logical reason to decline them other than the seemingly overnight popularity of the sport. They keep moving the goal post and Andretti keeps meeting their requirements. Also, with the FIA signing off, it gives Liberty Media less of a leg to stand on when they are being questioned. I know some people might feel why US politicians involving themselves in F1 a predominantly European sport but unfortunately, Liberty Media is a US company they are subject to their rules and laws.

There are alot of pieces to this. Gainbridge owner is part owner of Andretti and a tier sponsor of alot of F1 cars and races. Liberty media is a US company and if the government goes digging and finds them guilty of the Sherman act, the whole f1 circus will not be allowed to operate in it's borders. Think the UK has a similar law but not sure. So greed on behalf of Liberty and the team owners could really stop them cold. Remember, our government is pretty dumb but they managed to convict and jail gangsters on tax evasion and not murder, when murder was the obvious crime. If Congress should put their efforts into corporate price gouging of the citizens. Let the FIA, F-1, and Andretti Autosport work this out. This is not an international conflict. Congress needs to govern and get out of sports. Each sport has its own governing body it's their job to work things out not my elected officials.

Its because Toto is scared to lose another Max Verstappen caliber driver. With Max, Mercedes wanted him, offered him a contract and to drive F2 because there was no seat at Mercedes that year. And Helmut was like 'hold my bradwurst' and put him in the Torro Rosso skipping F2.
Toto is to scared someone will snatch Kimi from under him again by offering him a seat for next year. For example Haas is already down 1 driver and Kevin is driving like a maniac atm disgracing F1 IMO. And Gunther said to never run a season with 2 rookies. But Gunther is gone and i realy think Ferrari gona park Bearman at Haas and would not be surprised Haas pulling the same move as Helmut did and snag Kimi away and put him in the car for next year.
I think Ferrari will be delighted to get Kimi in the Ferrari academy and eventualy replace Leclerc and Hamilton with Bearman and Antionelli.
So conclusion, I understand why Toto/Vowles are making these plans/deals behind the scenes to prevent a scenario like this.

I hope the rest of my country stops watching too until they stop with their nonsense and just let Andretti in. It would do nothing but benefit the sport, but corporate greed is getting in the way. If I were any good with social media and could gather a solid platform ad follower base, I would use it to convince all of my fellow American viewers to boycott the sport until they let Andretti in and I would make a petition for everybody to sign.

It's pretty ironic that they US government is complaining about it being a closed system, they should maybe look at thei whole sports system where there are no promotions and relegations and where teams will move several thousands of miles away if a town/city/state offers a new stadium and other financial benefits.
And I do personally feel Andretti have screwed up in a major way from the off, its ok going around and showing how you are working towards a car being ready for 2026 BUT show exactly how you finically are going to grow the sport. The problem with Andretti is alot of the sponsors that you think of around them are either already in F1 or they are companies with an America Focus and whom are unlikely to be able to justify spending F1 levels to have a sponsorship that over 90% of the people who see it are in markets you don't operate in. They should have come to the table with written letters of intent from Sponsors who committed to Sponsoring Andretti and where any sponsor they lined up who already sponsors another team would agree not to pull their sponsor from this team for x number of years. That way they would show how they aren't pulling any income from other teams and instead are bringing new companies into the fold
