If you are trying to decide on a fishing rod and reel combo, whether a baitcasting combo or spinning combo, this KastKing video is for you.

I don't usually comment, but I felt the need after watching this great well informed video between the differences. I use both and have been fishing well over 40 years, just glad the equipment is much better and more economical these days:) I would agree with you about your spinning assessment with the exception of rod selection and speed ratios, as today's offering are much different than 10 or 20 years ago. Spinning rods are offered with some great backbone today, such as the Ark Sniper rods and I use 6.2:1 ratio spinning reels for heavier and faster setups. Ironically, enough I went out and searched for faster spinning ratios and noticed that KastKing makes a 7.2:1, all though I've never used them? Again, great video, but if you practice with either spinning or baitcaster reels and properly pair it up with correct rod, you'll have confidence throwing a multitude of lure types and weights with either. Spinning is still king with light finesse action in my opinion, as I've caught plenty of 10#+ monsters with 6# test using 1/16oz. with a #2 hook. You cannot horse them like a typical baitcaster setup, but with patience and a great fight you'll get them in with a little skill. Thanks, Larry

I've fished many years on spinning gear and really can do everything I need to do with it,but as I reintroduced myself to baitcasting reels I can do many things much easier with them like you said.Im still working on reducing my birdnests and bad casts but it's definitely worth the effort. Thanks for the video.

Very informative video. One advantage for spinning setups that I have found, personally, is that they are superior on a crowded boat. I can perform more styles of casts with a spin setup than a bait-cast setup on a crowded boat. My normal bass setup is a 3000 (Penn) spinning reel, medium rod with fast action (Ugly Stik Elite), my northern setup is a 4000 ( also Penn) reel and MH rod (Ugly Stik Tiger Elite). I tend to go bigger with my spinners to accommodate any sized fish; which has worked out really well in the past. I am venturing into the realm of cat-fishing and after extensive research I purchased my first KastKing reel, the Rover 70. I know that it is a bit oversized, but given the circumstances of the pandemic I thought it better to buy a bigger reel JIC. My first impressions of the reel before having used it ( I am having trouble finding a rod given the pandemic, apparently everybody has now decided fishing is fun!!) are great. It is solid, well built, and simple. Hopefully, I can say that I am KastKing convert in the near future.
    Cheers!!

Amen, I 100% agree, I fish both and I only go for bait casters for when I am sticking to one setup, .I.e. 1/4 oz jig and 4 inch artificial, for a good bit. Baitcasters biggest advantage is hookset imo, everything else goes to spinning.

great video brother. I'm looking to get a more serious setup and this helped me with my decision. I will have 1 setup each but im going to start with a bait caster setup as that will be what's required for the fishing in my area

Just found your channel and the information here is priceless. I've just recently started fishing with a baitcaster again (after giving up years ago due to the obvious problems). Decided to try again and replace my spinning setup but thanks to the blanks being filled in here I think I'll keep them both 🙂. Now I know how to tune my baitcaster, thanks to another one of your videos. Thanks and tight lines from a trout and pike angler in a mostly wet and mostly grey Northern Ireland. Liked and subscribed 👍

@@KastKing I am new to baitcasting. I had 30lb braided line put on my spin and baitcasting reels because I was losing some nice size largemouth bass on my 12lb fluorocarbon line on my spincasting rod. Do you think 30lb is too heavy for braided line? What do you recommend? I also heard about using a leader with braided line....what is a leader? I've never used it.

That little triangle on the pec totally looks like a slanty nipple. I can't get it out of my field of vision!
Edit: great video Kaptain. Easy to understand as my son needed someone who "knows what he is talking about", to prove his spinning setup is fine.
He has my baitcaster for whenever he feels the need to create a bird nest.

Great video, very easy to understand. I pretty much use Kastking exclusively. They make products that are easily comparable to Garcia, St. Croix, Lews, etc. at much more affordable prices. The reason for there affordability is not that they use cheaper products but they are a direct sell company which mean that they sell straight to the customer and do not use mid men (Bass Pro Shop, Walmart, Cabelas). This in-turn gives us consumers much better prices. They also are great to put out great videos about there products to help the customer better understand what they are all about. I highly recommend there products. Thanks again for a great video.

Iv been trying to get into Muskie and catfishing. Trying to find advantages of spinning (as Iv only ever used spinning reels my whole life) compared to bait casters. This channel by far offers the best in-depth info on everything need to know between the 2. After watching a good couple of these videos on different gear, I definitely feel confident in going out and getting it done.
