About Charity:
Charity Kahn is a musician, songwriter, teacher, recording artist and certified meditation and qigong instructor based in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA. She has released eight albums of award-winning music for children and families with her band “Charity and the JAMband”, two albums for grown-ups with her band “The Invisible Bee”, and a collection of guided meditations for kids. Her latest album for children, released on Earth Day 2024, is entitled “The Vegan Album” and contains a collection of 14 songs about animal liberation, plant-based eating, kindness, compassion, and Earth care. She’s the founder of JAM (an acronym for “Joy And Music”), and has brought music, movement and mindfulness to thousands of families around the SF Bay Area and beyond via her beloved classes, camps and family concerts since 2001.
Charity has also created songs and videos to support animal and Earth activist movements such as Plant Based Treaty, Save the Tule Elk of Point Reyes, and various sanctuary farms. Charity combines mindfulness and a passion for social, animal and climate justice in her offerings, including her popular “15-Day Vegan Challenge+Celebration" courses. She's been a meditator and student of the Dharma since 2006, studying with teachers such as Thich Nhat Hanh, Thanissara, Gil Fronsdal, Kaira Jewel Lingo, Susie Harrington, and Tara Brach. With kindness, compassion, peace, love, and joy as her guiding lights, her intention is to create music and offerings that support people in waking up together during these rare and precious times.
