Lynn you are so talented!!! You are absolutely right do it to please yourself!! I need to remember that myself. Going for perfection just makes sewing “Not fun!!!!! And makes me crazy!!!!! Thank you so very much!!!!! Luv ya!!!!
Your quilt is beautiful and I bet that Andy will love it! My son with autism loves heavy blankets . He has a store bought flannel quilt that he has had for years and is really worn out. I hope to make him a duplicate soon. None of my quilts are perfect either! I was told that the Amish always leave a mistake in their quilts so people are reminded that no one but God is perfect. Also, I made my first quilted sweatshirt -- bought it on clearance at Walmart and didn't try it on first. Turned out so cute, but the sleeves were too short for me -- I have longer arms than most. I had some vintage fabric in my stash of a Christmas cat and I raw edged appliquéd it on the front. We had a women's Christmas party at church that included a white elephant gift exchange where people open up a gift and the next person can steal it. Anyway, I wrapped up the shirt and the first lady who opened up the sweatshirt announced that she didn't want anyone to steal it. It got passed around several times before the game ended. I also had two ladies ask if I would make them one. It was a big hit. I went and bought a new sweatshirt today (with longer sleeves!) and am hoping to get it done before my quilting friends meet for our Christmas party. Thanks so much for the videos!!! Very inspiring!!
You’re right, quilts don’t have to be perfect, they’re meant to be enjoyed! ❤️🧵🪡🧵❤️. Before you could buy weighted blankets I made Andy several and weighted them with bbs and encased them in fleece. The first one was 17 pounds and I used it as much as he did. He absolutely loves blankets and quilts. I have a denim one in the works I have been working on for years for him.
Lynne, your quilt is beautiful! Thank you for sharing. You have made me want to learn how to quilt now! I have loved watching as the quilt has come together. I am so excited that you've started the sewing part of the channel! I can't wait to see some more. Have a great week, and God bless you and your family. ❤😊🎉
I have the Jera Brandvig book on quilt as you go method but I’ve never used it. Thank you for the lesson. I need to get back to quilting I have so much fabric and so many patterns. Your Gingerbread boys and girls are so dressed up and so cute! I love the tree side too. I also have some foundation papers to use. I’m really glad you showed the process. I want to see it all laid out when you get a chance. I’m so excited for you to have it done. I have a quilt at the quilter right now for one of my sons. I’ve only Actually done the quilting on 3 quilts and the last two were buggers to complete for me but they were gifts so I’m glad I did. I love the rag quilt look. Never done one yet.
You are amazing very talented love everything about this quilt . Glad I found your videos. Made me a sweatshirt sleeves just got to put my tree on front .
Just found your channel and you being REAL. The quilt caught my eye being the cute gingerbread. I now have ideas on how to use the materials I have collected. Thank you.
I love the gingerbread pieces. Simply adorable! You're so talented, you really are. Makes me wish I could relive my life all over again to learn all the things I didn't get a chance to learn.
🙆♀️…ikr? I wish I had learned to play a musical instrument. I did try the clarinet but my music teacher said… 🙅♀️🤦♀️ “Kathryn, you’re tone~deaf, you sound awful and haven’t progressed at all this term…perhaps art 🖼️ 🎨 is better for you!?!” 💁♀️ 😂😅
Ive enjoyed watching you quilt. May I give this suggestion. When you stitch a quilt to rag it, you need to cut your batting smaller than your fabric blocks. You dont want batting in the ragging part to trim. It will also make it easier to sew you block rows together without the extreme thickness. I hope this helps if I explained myself well enough 😅. I love your gingerbread characters.
Yes you did explain it very well. I however didn’t plan on ragging it in the beginning and had to just wing it. And thought I should have cut it out after the fact. !! Thanks for the suggestion!!!
@lgougeinthekitchen I just found your channel and thoroughly enjoyed it. You seem to sew like I do....just for somone to enjoy it and I do it my way. Mine are never even close to perfect. Look forward to your next project.
Absolutely love this adorable quilt! I’ve never seen your sew four at once technique and will trying it in the future. Yep, I’ll have to rewind and watch a few times just for good measure. Where do you shop for your cute fabrics? I love your sweatshirt that you made as well. On this sweatshirt, it doesn’t look like you replaced the entire sleeve, correct?
It's adorable! You've inspired me to try one of these. Love how you make due with what you have. Sometimes I get hung up on procedure ... and notions. Lol
@ years ago Greyhound bus lines used to say, “ Go Greyhound and leave the driving to us.” I think it would a great slogan for you. I really enjoy watching you sew, but I’ll leave the sewing to you! 😁
Tip for the handel. Wet the suction pieces. You know it's made for the shower , right !! LOL Thats how i got mine 🤣 You did a really good job on this quilt !! BTW did you use a HALF INCH Seam allowance?? I didnt hear you if you did say. Just subscribed to ur channel!! 💓 BTW, to all the newbies out there, its ok to not be perfect!! No quilt police out there!! 😁🤎🤎🤎
Thanks for the tip. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that 🥰. Realized it was exactly the same as the one I got for my MIL for her shower when it arrived 🤣🤣🤣
Beautiful! Do you wash it in your own washer? Some say not to because it plugs it up. I am scared to do a rag quilt because of that and I really don't want to go to spend time at a laundry mat.

Wow...how do you set up for filming ? I have a small channel on my babylock machine. I do a lot of machine embroidery. I love your quilt.
I really don’t set up. I just turn on the camera and start. Try to have everything together and go for it!!❤️🧵🪡🧵❤️
Can you do a video on the Trees and Gingerbread squares?
Yes. I will see what I can do
Is your quilt reversible?
Yes it sure is !!!!
It is probably the prettiest rag quilt I've ever seen. Andy will love it and if he doesn't..... send it to me. 😆 You are an excellent teacher.
Can you do a video on the Trees and Gingerbread squares?
I will try to get that up soon ❤️🧵🪡🧵❤️🎄
