I actually enjoy it! Terry Silver is a big part of why. Without him I think the movie would’ve been bad. I’m not a fan of Daniel in this one Especially considering he was in a death match in Part 2 and won, but now suddenly he’s afraid to take on Mike Barnes and seems to have lost most of his skills. I think Part 3 should’ve been Part 2

As someone who has never seen an episode of Cobra Kai, and as an adult who as a kid was extremely disappointed with Karate Kid Part III upon seeing it in theaters, I have to say Part III really benefits from repeated viewings - especially as one gets older. Now I can't not tear up watching it, and that ending gets me every time. It's all about the roots.
When Daniel is going through it and snaps at Mr. Miyagi and he tears up, I loose it! I simply can’t see him cry. 😭 And since he sees Daniel as a son, it really hurt him. 🥺😢
I loved this trilogy growing up. For me all three are 5 out of 5. Mr. Miyagi was always consistent and for me that is what made the movies great. The "Next Karate Kid" started to go off the rails but I think having Mr. Miyagi there helped.
Ten years ago I wrote a giant essay review on Amazon about how underrated this movie is. There's always going to be a portion of fans who won't enjoy every movie in a series. But as an adult, i feel this has become the heart of the trilogy by testing everything built in the first 2 movies. Silver was especially menacing as well as Barnes. Watching the tension between Daniel and Miyagi grow between them is heartbreaking. And the final fight is knuckle biting good. Excellent reaction and I am glad I'm not the only one who loves this film.
I'm so glad there's a reaction to the third part from you too, especially since I wasn't expecting it after you said last time you'd already done all the Cobra Kai seasons and it looked like there was no need to watch the last part. As for Terry Silver, I agree, he was probably the secret star of the third part, for me because he was entertaining and for female fans probably because most women like bad boys, which he can embody like no other.
Before he met Miyagi, Daniel always felt like an Outsider. After his trials with Johnny, Chozen, Mike, Kreese and Silver, Daniel came to a Crossroads and traded in his black belt for a Fender Telecaster.

I love all 3 movies...for me, of course the first one is the best, but I put part 3 as my second favorite ! you guys are right, Part 2 feels a little different than the other two ( due to the much different Japan setting, and with much more focus on Mr. Miyagi and his heritage - but i still love part 2) there is a lot to like about part 3 though....Terry Silver is an awesome villain with a great screen presence,....I also like the plot of Terry pretending to be Daniel's friend and teacher and then eventually showing his true motives....and Mike Barnes for me, is the most 'intimidating' of the 3 main fighters in the movies ( the way he is always yelling at Daniel)...and also I always really liked Jessica in this movie...she might be my favorite girl in the 3 movies........cheers ~
I love what an over the top goofy villain Terry Silver is. He loses tons of money by using all his time to get revenge for his friend on a teenager. Btw, you two are ridiculously beautiful. I just discovered this channel yesterday and am loving it.
There's something so funny about Terry and Kresse laughing their asses off even after Mr. Miyagi beat the shit out of them, their "plan" didn't even make any sense, this movie was just them having random chaotic fun tormenting a teenager.
This movie is critical to the mythology of the karate kid franchise. I have always loved it and I’m glad you did too. Despite what some people say the next karate kid is also worth seeing. It’s not as good as any of the movies in the trilogy but it is a fun time and the last mr. miyagi movie ever.
Loved your KK3 reaction of a coked fueled Terry Silver. 😂 I did not like Karate Kid 3 originally but as others mentioned, Cobra Kai enhances my appreciation of it now. Redemption! Hope you ladies do a Next Karate Kid reaction - since Hillary Swank may (or may not) appear in Season 6 of Cobra Kai.
Great reaction Ladies! While watching, I was struck by the fact that the Terry Silver actor could have been a great "Joker!" The smile, his build; straight out of the Comics. 😆 I last watched this when I was way younger, and by that point, I had seen more martial arts movies by then. So, The fight scenes seemed pretty lame to me, along with it showing Daniel weaker than he should have been. Plus, I didn't really enjoy Daniel becoming an A-hole. Lol. It felt like a regression of his character, though in the movie he is still a teenager, so I could have given that a little slack. I did really enjoy Terry Silver as a character though, "mustache twirling" and all. 🤣😂 Absolutely a villian you love to watch! Now, being older and In light of the show, I appreciate the third movie more. I did like it, but I still enjoy the first two more. Beautiful as always Ladies! 😎😍😎
@@oliverclothesoff8604 nah, that movie is part of canon, just didnt have a trilogy like Larusso's character so we really didn't get to know Julie to that level. She will likely be a part of Cobra Kai series though,. (thats my prediction anyway)
Cobra Kai needs to learn Mr. Miyagi's lesson, "Walk left side, safe. Walk right side, safe. Walk in the middle, sooner or later you get squish just like grape." A most excellent commentary throughout the movie reaction.
23:52 "Why do we have to plant it in the most difficult place 😄to retrieve it?" It's a very valuable tree. Putting it elsewhere might lead to passers by seeing it and taking it.
9:28 The fact that Barnes had so much trouble breaking free of snake's restraint shows he might not be so scary after all!!!! What with how easily the girl incapacitated snake later!!!!!
I may have missed it because I wasn't paying enough attention, but I would appreciate a "heads up" that the reaction may contain spoilers for Cobra Kai. I've only seen the first two seasons since I don't have Netflix. I'm thankful if you did say that and am sorry if I missed it. I'm enjoying your channel. You two are bright lights in a dark world.
Found you guys from Deprogrammed. Nice video. Enjoyable enough for what it is, unfortunately it ends up being a way too much of a rehash of the original. There is little fresh ground broken and while Silver chews the scenery, the antagonists lack only a moustache to twirl. Cobra Kai really did a nice job fleshing out Silver and Barnes. Sean Kanan is conservative leaning, having been on Gutfeld (and Red Eye before that), so I was pleasantly surprised to see his character redeemed.
I think this film is underrated. Each karate kid has a certain lesson in each movie. This one we saw Daniel and Mr Miyagi’s first time where their level of trust and personal relationship was damaged
I love your reactions. This movie for me always makes me emotional because of 2 scenes. Mr Miyagi reminds me of my grandpa so much. Look forward to more if your reactions. Will you react to, "The next Karate Kid"? I have a feeling they could be bringing back people from that film for season 6 of Cobra Kai. Both of you are beautiful 😍😍
The reason KK3 is so unpopular is because it doesn't have anything positive in it. There is no love, no hope, no joy, Just bitterness and mean spiritedness. In Cobra Kai season 5, the point is made that you have to fight for something, not just fight against, and KK3 shows Daniel only fighting against, not fighting for.
During your review, you wondered why the bonsai tree was placed on the cliff side. Miagi found this place to have all the right conditions to nurture the tree. But, here's the other reason... black pine bonsai can be worth one million dollars, while other lesser specimens around $122,000. So to protect the value it had to be put in this spot.
Fantastic reaction to this third Karate Kid movie. Facts on Terry Silver at 29:00 he is perfect as the villain in fact he shines. You ladies read my mind at 30:07 I would have liked to see that too in this sequel. This is indeed a good trilogy. 31:06 facts again on Terry Silver especially his scenes with Kreese
Not sure if you watched all five season of Cobra Kai, but easter eggs from the 3r kk film appear as early as season 1. When Johnny is re-opening the dojo, the zoning board asked about Terry Silver. In a later episode one of the kids tells Daniel he doesn't know what it's like to be Cobra Kai, and he disagrees. The actor who plays Mike Barnes has been on and off the soaps shows Young and Restless and Bold and Beautiful for over 20 years.
I’m glad you really enjoyed the third movie. The problem was before the Kobra Kai series, there was nothing after the third movie and it was a bit uneven compared to the first two movies. Plus it seemed like Daniel’s personal growth had regressed after the gains of the first two movies. But with the addition of the Kobra Kai series, it has made every movie and character and motivation better. The third movie is far better now only because the show has made it better. It has shown terry silver’s true deception and plan, plus redeemed Mike Barnes, plus show that Daniel’s personality and character has always struggled with light and dark tendencies, striving to do right when the enemy plays dirty. I bet if you had watched the third movie without Kobra kai, it wouldn’t have been as well received. But the show has done an amazing job of elevating great movies and making them even better!
You say there was nothing after the third movie but there is still The Next Karate Kid. Sure, it's not quite up to the OG trilogy level thanks to no Daniel-san but Miyagi is still there making it canon. Julie's actually a pretty solid stand in and Michael Ironside always plays a great hard ass soldier type and a good villain in it. Honestly the fourth film gets more flak than it really deserves just because there's no Daniel-san but I still enjoy it even on re-watches and I'm still crossing my fingers that Julie-san(if they can afford Hilary Swank) and Col. Dugan return in season 6.
Rumor has it that the actor that plays Terry was originally cast as Daniel because he had martial arts training. But they ended up going with Ralph because Ian looked too old to play a teenager. Ian is actually younger than Ralph.
I’ve never heard of this I don’t think it’s that credible, also Thomas Ian Griffith is like 6 foot 5 so he would of just towered over all his bullies lol.
I loved The Karate Kid Part 3 mostly thanks to Mike Barnes and Terry Silver... Mike Barnes was so good at karate he made Daniel feel hopeless. And Terry Silver was diabolical and wild! 😂 A lot of people knock the third movie but I still stand by my opinion that the only problem with this movie is that it suffers from a few minor pacing issues here and there.
Terry Silver, Daniel and Johnny, are all basically the same age, and I even think that Daniel is older than Terry, in real life... I enjoyed them all, and all the trilogies I've mentioned I've watched with my daughter, and I droped a few tears in all of these, with you now, while watching them, and I've watched throughout time some other «reacters» react to them and I always cry. Back to the Future, Karate Kid, Indiana Jones... It was a bonding experience, she watched Cobra Kai also with me untli last year, but things are very bad at the moment, after my break up with my ex, and my daughter is being manipulated against me and this hurts me even more when I watch reacts like yours to movies that I loved as a kid and that I tried to pass on to my, now, 13 years old, and love of my life, daughter Carolina. Ah! There's still the «Karate Kid - The Next Generation» with Hilary Swank... Gotta watch that too!
My only issue with Part 3 is that final tournament. Daniela doesn’t earn his way up to the top and then in his fight with Barnes he wins in a sudden death style one point win. It just didn’t come off as equally triumphant as the other 2 films. But I still enjoy it overall.
Lmao there was a funny scene in season 4 where Daniel was explaining Karate Kid 3 to Johnny at a bar and the first thing Johnny felt the need to point out was how bullshit it was that Daniel didn't have to fight to the finals, never mind all the other messed up stuff that happened🤣
@@cantthinkofaname4616 thé show is wonderful at making fun of the movies but giving them love at that same time and i love it 😭 seeing everybody’s perspective during each movie( besides mr.miyagi may his beautiful soul rip🤍) and makes the cheese and corniness of the movies make a lot of sense
I think this movie would have been better if they hid Terry Silver's true intentions from the viewer. Like have us believe that he was genuinely helping Daniel.
I enjoyed KK3, Terry Silver is one of the best villains ever, more evil and ruthless than Kreese, the way he made Daniel exactly what he wanted him to be, he really made this movie
I think that the reason most people say that KK3 is their least favourite of the trilogy, and why you two seemed to really enjoy it, is because they all saw it as it came out while you two saw it after having already seen all of Cobra Kai. Karate Kid 3 seemed way out of place when it first came out because Terry Silver was acting like a totally coked out Bond villain. And at that time, this type of character was way out of place in a story which, up to that point, was relatively grounded in reality. But since Terry Silver had confessed in Season 4 of Cobra Kai to actually being high on coke during this time, you two were able to see this movie through the lenses of a Cobra Kai retcon. Anyway, loved your reaction to the movie. Are you guys going to be reacting to The Next Karate Kid next?
@@ForceOfLightEntertainment looking forward to it. I love horror movies, but I’ve seen so many that they don’t affect me the way they used to. By watching reaction channels like yours, I get to relive that feeling vicariously through the reactors that I watch, which is almost as good.
12:44 Daniel, when are you going to learn to trust Mr. Miyagi? He told you he did not want you to retrieve this tree. You should've figured he has something in _mind._
14:17 "This guy is such a _jerk."_ A jerk is someone who cuts you off in traffic. It pisses you off, but then it's over. This guy just stepped on Miyagi's _livelihood._ That's _much_ worse.
I may be the only one who thinks this but the actor Thomas Ian Griffith (I think that's his name) who plays Terry Silver lowkey reminds me of Tommy Oliver (actor name is Jason David Frank) from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Same can be said for Billy Kidman in WCW after his left Raven's Flock. Even tho three was bad it introduce memorable characters that made their return in the Cobra Kai series, Terry Silver and Mike Barnes. Mike Barnes should've had more screen time on the show consider he only made a appearance on the show twice, hopefully in season 6 he'll get more time if the directors decide to bring him back. Also, will the Next Karate Kid be part of season 6? Hilary Swank still looks good at her age and can do fight scenes at her age great example The Hunt movie, but she's a top tier actor that's worth lots of money, so my guess is they'll probably do a movie spin-off or convince her to join season 6.
24:35 "Terry Silver just gets that _crazy_ look in his eye." Yeah. It's like he wants to run a dojo that trains people to be sadistic _wrecking_ machines.
This may be a trilogy... But there is a 4th movie too. The Next Karate Kid... It has Miyagi in it, but no Daniel. Miyagi's new student is Julie Pierce, played by Hillary Swank. Barely a mention of Daniel... Nowhere near the story line, and the villains don't really stack up to the other movies either. All in all, it is not too bad though. It has not yet had any love from Cobra Kai, but many fans want to see Julie back. Producers have long been hinting that they do consider KK4 to be cannon, so maybe in season 6... Maybe not at all. It does give a little bit (But not much) more back story on Miyagi, and it is the only time you actually see Miyagi wearing his medal of honor, albeit briefly.
Jessica brought mac and cheese for Daniel when she met Amanda in episode 5 Mr miyagi telling Daniel, your best karate is still inside let it out....terry silver said something similar to Tory at the season4 tournament
Do you ladies feel that knowing the TV show strengthens the enjoyment of the movies and vice versa? Because I feel it's best to take it as a whole trilogy and series as you get to see how Daniel passes on some of the wisdom he learned such as him teaching his daughter in season 3 "it's ok to lose to opponent, but never lose to fear"
I def enjoy the commentary between u ladies it’s a good time but how were you able to watch the tv series before ever seeing terry silver in his OG style ?? @@oliverclothesoff8604 nah, that movie is part of canon, just didnt have a trilogy like Larusso's character so we really didn't get to know Julie to that level. She will likely be a part of Cobra Kai series though,.
(thats my prediction anyway)
Yeah the Next Karate Kid isn’t nearly as bad as people say it is. I actually kinda enjoy it
Cobra Kai needs to learn Mr. Miyagi's lesson, "Walk left side, safe. Walk right side, safe. Walk in the middle, sooner or later you get squish just like grape."
A most excellent commentary throughout the movie reaction.
Thank you!!
Mike Barns also plays Deacon Sharp on the soap The Bold And The Beautiful
Terry silver is an American treasure
He really is haha
I need that on a t-shirt 😄👍
I liked part 3 a lot. Great chemistry between Ralph and Pat Moria. I’m looking forward to seeing more of you too lovely ladies!
Glad you enjoyed it!!
23:52 "Why do we have to plant it in the most difficult place 😄to retrieve it?"
It's a very valuable tree. Putting it elsewhere might lead to passers by seeing it and taking it.
I love this, great review. Underrated movie, so much fun and Terry Silver is the best!!!!
Thank you!!
Thank you!!
Everybody's scream on this movie hahaha
Brazil here
I think this film is underrated. Each karate kid has a certain lesson in each movie. This one we saw Daniel and Mr Miyagi’s first time where their level of trust and personal relationship was damaged
There are actually 5 Karate Kid movies with a sixth one scheduled for 2024! 👱♀👱♀👗👗👠👠❤❤
Thank you! We may at some point but for October we have a couple horror movies coming!
I tend to not listen to a group of people who hate something. Best to figure things out for ourselves. Good reaction 👍
Congrats on finishing! I love karate kid 3 mostly cause of Silver.
The roots are strong, so the tree will survive
Absolutely love that!!
❤️❤️👏🏻
@@natalieRGrace Surprised you ladies liked KK3, but glad you did. And glad you got into Cobra Kai. Fun show 👍
Thomas Ian Griffith (Terry Silver) was 27 and Ralph Machio was 28 during filming of this movie.
daniel should have been calling him terry boy 😄
The reason KK3 is so unpopular is because it doesn't have anything positive in it. There is no love, no hope, no joy, Just bitterness and mean spiritedness. In Cobra Kai season 5, the point is made that you have to fight for something, not just fight against, and KK3 shows Daniel only fighting against, not fighting for.
I was 7 yrs old when Karate kid came out and that's when I started taking Karate, so the Karate kid kicked started my martial arts career 🥋
The ponytail guy is like a REALLY evil version of Tommy from Power Rangers!
17:13 If a man can't breathe, he dies, Mr. Silver!!! Then I'd go to prison!!!! :(
During your review, you wondered why the bonsai tree was placed on the cliff side.
Miagi found this place to have all the right conditions to nurture the tree. But, here's the other reason...
black pine bonsai can be worth one million dollars, while other lesser specimens around $122,000.
So to protect the value it had to be put in this spot.
This was awesome! Do y’all think there will be a season 6 of Cobra Kai?
Yes!!
Thank you! Great trilogy!
@@ForceOfLightEntertainment Don’t mention it you ladies should check out the next karate kid !
That’s why he looked so familiar!
That contraption Daniel was punching was the same that Torrie was punching in Kobra Kai except she was punching stone and not wood
16:11 And just like that, Daniel learned the secret to beating Terry Silver!!!!! :O
Yep!!! 😎
The show does make the movies better!!
*Cobra Kai
@@havok6280 🚨Achtung Achtung, spelling nazi alert.🚨😂
The girl on the right looks like a ginger princess with her hair like that. :P
When I first watched it didn't know Ralph Macchio is 5 months older than Thomas Ian Griffith (Terry Silver)
Time for The Next Karate Kid!
Actually the actor who plays Terry Silver is younger than Daniel :D
Terry Silver is the highlight of the movie for me. He’s so over-the-top, but in the best way lol
💯
Yes!!
A lot of people knock the third movie but I still stand by my opinion that the only problem with this movie is that it suffers from a few minor pacing issues here and there.
We really enjoyed it!
Introducing Terry Silver is enough to justify the existence of THE KARATE KID III.
Honestly after the first Karate Kid I think The Next Karate Kid is my favorite but I have enjoyed how 2 &3 characters have been in Cobra Kia
Plottwist: Terry Silver is Riddler´s and Two-Faces adopted son from the Burton-movies🤭
You havent seen Karate Kid 4 with Hillery Swank entitled, "The Next Karate Kid." Worth watching
You might want to watch "The Next Karate Kid". Mr. Miyagi teaches Hillary Swank and we haven't seen her on Cobra Kai yet.
I enjoyed KK3, Terry Silver is one of the best villains ever, more evil and ruthless than Kreese, the way he made Daniel exactly what he wanted him to be, he really made this movie
Terry Silver is an iconic over the top character
Love Terry Silvers! 😂👏🏻
Ah, Karate Kid 3. Or as I call it, the fever dream of the franchise.
Thank you!! We may but first we are going to do some horror reactions for October!
@@ForceOfLightEntertainment looking forward to it. I love horror movies, but I’ve seen so many that they don’t affect me the way they used to. By watching reaction channels like yours, I get to relive that feeling vicariously through the reactors that I watch, which is almost as good.
In this movie I never said Daniel hit mike but at the end this movie is good
12:44 Daniel, when are you going to learn to trust Mr. Miyagi? He told you he did not want you to retrieve this tree. You should've figured he has something in _mind._
14:17 "This guy is such a _jerk."_
A jerk is someone who cuts you off in traffic. It pisses you off, but then it's over.
This guy just stepped on Miyagi's _livelihood._ That's _much_ worse.
I couldn’t get past the fact that, by this point, Macchio is like 30 and still playing a teenager 😂
It is crazy how young he looks! 😂
Yeah that still baffles me 😳🤯 I think he is even slightly older than Thomas Ian 😅
He pulled it off though 😂
@@ForceOfLightEntertainment absolutely 💯 I didnt know until much later how old he really was in that movie, and looks good still today
The woman on the right looks like a Disney princess.
Aww 🥰
They brought back Terry Silver in _Cobra Kai?_ That surprises me very much. I was under the impression _his_ performance was what sank _Karate Kid 3._
24:35 "Terry Silver just gets that _crazy_ look in his eye."
Yeah. It's like he wants to run a dojo that trains people to be sadistic _wrecking_ machines.
Silva was 2 years younger and plays someone older lol
Daniel and Miyagi’s relationship are like what would happen if Avatar Korra trained under Iroh
Jessica brought mac and cheese for Daniel when she met Amanda in episode 5
Mr miyagi telling Daniel, your best karate is still inside let it out....terry silver said something similar to Tory at the season4 tournament
Love that quote! There are some great moments in this!
Also, yes I think the show strengths the movies and vice versa!
I def enjoy the commentary between u ladies it’s a good time but how were you able to watch the tv series before ever seeing terry silver in his OG style ?? Denied the silver method magic for 30 years ?!?!? Btw did you know there was no physical good times between Daniel and Jessica cause he was 27 and she was 15 during filming ? Fun note from the making of the karate kid part 3 one of my fav sequels ever !!!
