So I struggled getting into the programming mode for the ESC, but I found another Horizon Hobbies video "Avian Smart ESC Setup" here on TH-cam and 2 tips were given there that weren't here. 1st this mode can "time out" after ~30 seconds or so, and 2nd- My problem: SAFE was set to "On" thus limiting the Ele and Ale effective throw even though the transmitter was commanding full travel. After turning SAFE "Off" I was able to enter and program as shown. I hope this helps someone.
Agree 100% they seem to only help the people with spectrum radios. Unfortunately they are overpriced else I would of got one but now I have the radiomaster Boxer.
I have a Turbo Timber Evo as PNP - NOT Spektrum RC How do non-Spektrum users activate reverse thrust? The manual is silent on this matter. I use a FrSky S6R stabilised receiver and RadioMaster TS16X
I am confused! You set the Brake Mode to Reverse... Then set the Brake Force to 7. According to the Avian prog manual Brake Force only applies when in Brake Mode is in Normal Mode not in Reverse Mode. ???
This didn’t work for me, I ended up on the phone with HH tech support and he told me switch H won’t work like that, he put it on “A” and it worked great.
As it turns out I updated my Dx18 and it was able to do the push programming, even though I’d read it couldn’t. Might be only the Dx8 gen 1 that doesn’t. Used to have a Dx8 gen1, and I recall the 18 had a new protocol so models couldn’t transfer between the two.
@@jono4700 No I did not get a reply to this question as of yet. I reached out to horizon. That was a complete waste of time.I am going to get it to work somehow.
When switching from forward to reverse, do I have to lower the throttle stick? Or can I be at high throttle and switch it to reverse with out causing issues or damage?

A proper explanation of switch safe and reverse thrust assignment is not allowed? You do not explain.
Is there a way for those of us who choose not to fly spectrum radios to use these features? A manual maybe for the rest of us

hello, have you succeed to activate reverse thrust with your receiver frsky ?
@@clement1708 Hello. No, unfortunately not. No one I've asked knows how and I couldn't find a way myself.
hi, have you got a video to reverse thrust with SMART ESC Programmer V2 ? thx
I have Night Timber X with Avian ESc and am using Ix1. Can we program thrust reversing through Ix12??? So i need to setup as new model ???

Can i use another brand transmitter like the Jeti for reverse thrust?

I tried this on my NX10 and i don't get those Avian screen.
can the motor reversing feature be set up on the black DX8 gen 2 , with updated firmware ?...thanks
How do I do that with different transmitters?
Is there an alternate way to program the ESC? I’ve got a Dx18 V1 and don’t see the need to upgrade just for this feature.
Yes with an esc programming box I had the same issue with my gen1 dx8

good job on that demo
Please explain how and when to use reverse thrust for breaking
Its commonly used for landing and take off.
Will the latest firmware update work with a DX9 BE transmitter? I have a Timber X Night version and I would like to try the reversing function
Did you ever get an answer to your question? I just ordered the Evolution and have a DX9 BE.

I came here trying to figure out if I can get reverse on the UMX Turbo Timber.
@@d9inger No, you cannot.

Better to be at no throttle hit switch then throttle to reverse
