      Agreed, the only thing I hate about it is the infotainment screen that's plopped in as afterthought instead of being integrated into the dash. I want to put it away but I can't. It stick out all of the time. It's like scratching on a chalkboard. I also hate that there are two speedometers, one digital and the other "analog." Stop! Make up your mind. $26-30k roughly (depending on how cool your salesman is) gets you..
    Leatherette seats, nice stitching, heated seats, lane warning, auto corrected steering, self steering lane awareness, blind spot warning, a gigantic touch screen radio, auto dehumidifying cabin, auto defog windshield, auto aiming headlights for brights, wireless charging, backup camera, duel zone climate control, backseat climate control, a gigantic trunk, turbo, good ass mpg if you drive right, a killer sound system, built in navigation, split screen radio/maps. I mean shit. Literally everything that makes life great this car has. There's nothing that this car doesn't have that I honestly would need. It's amazing. I'm surprised with it everyday i own it.
    The last thing it needs is a dam coffee maker and self massaging chairs. It's insane.

    • @justinwieduwilt5420

      The only thing I really don’t like about mine is the lack of engine responsiveness. Turbo seems laggy, and the power curve I just can’t figure out… sometimes it pulls at a given rpm, sometimes it just doesn’t, and it doesn’t feel like it really wants to be pushed at all.
      But I came from a 2017 Fiesta ST, which had almost instant pull from pretty much any RPM in any gear, was extremely rev happy, and was most in its element being absolutely flogged. Trying to drive the FiST sedately felt just plain wrong. The Forte is very much the opposite in that regard, it feels best driving it more normally.
      But, overall it’s a great car, and it’s amazing what you get for the price, and is a comfortable
      daily driver with lots of useful features that work well. Just performance wise/fun factor its doesn’t hold a candle to the FiST I had before, the Fiesta feels like a bonafide sports car in comparison.

    I drove a 6 spd manual GT at highway speeds & found the manual doesn't have overdrive 6th gear. Cruising at 60 mph brought 2,700 rpms on tachometer. That isn't overdrive, but 1979 technology. The Automatic has a proper overdrive top gearing, lowering cruising rpms to about 1,750

    • @justinwieduwilt5420
      @justinwieduwilt5420 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because of that gearing, gas mileage is pretty crappy when cruising at high speeds on the interstate, and also you get a lot of engine drone/noise. 70mph is around 3k rpm and gets ok gas mileage, 80mph is something like 3500+ rpm and gas mileage really suffers and the engine sounds like it is straining, even though I’m sure it can handle it just fine.
      I find myself shifting earlier than I was used to in this car, and you can use 5th and 6th a lot in city driving if you are on main roads/ larger city thoroughfares that have like a 40 or 45mph limit.
      The gearing really is odd, you can get into fifth at like 35 and not lug the engine at all, and the sweet spot for sixth is like 50-55… so because of this I can almost get the same mpg in city driving as on the highway, but the highway fuel Econ leaves something to be desired.
      Also, you can start pretty much start from 2nd if you have like any momentum at all, and even from a dead stop in second hardly lugs the engine at all. All that said, its really satisfying to shift, the clutch and shifter are smooth and easy to learn with just enough mechanical feedback, and the engagement feels great to me

      Got a 2023 with the auto a few months back, and from what I notice it bumps the revs by about 2-300 rpm to keep you in boost. Steering gets heavier and then the responsives becomes more instantaneous and makes the car feel more NA than turbo'd. I drive it in sport mode pretty much always and when going on the highway manage 34-38mpg.

    How is it only rated at 26 combined for the manual. The dual clutch is rated at 30 and the CVT is rated at 33. The Honda Civic Si is rated at 32 combined.

      I’m doing 31 combined on my 22 6spd!

    • @WARnTEA
      @WARnTEA 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      So, whenever you read MPG you need to understand that rim size is one of the largest influencers of range. When you have smaller rims the tires are bigger to fill the wheel well. Bigger tires give better grip when cornering, but most importantly, bigger tires improve the suspension characteristics. When the chassis shakes/vibrates it slows down the momentum that the vehicle has built up, so by having bigger tires the air pressure is lower on the inside due to a larger air volume and the rubber can conform more to the uneven pavement.
      And finally, the transmission method adds even more of a difference to fuel consumption. There is a sweetspot for RPMs. More RPMs=more bangs from the pistons going up and down faster which means more fuel is needed. The gears change the torque ratio so the engine doesn’t have to work as hard. CVT are constantly changing their gear ratio, which is why they accelerate so slowly, but have higher MPG numbers, the engine simply doesn’t have to work hard to travel the same distance. For a dual clutch more gears are better fuel economy because you don’t have to go up to as high of an RPM before switching to the next gear, its also computer controller so it simply knows how to maintain a good efficiency sweetspot. There are some DCT equipped cars out there with terrible speed or fuel efficiency simply because the manufacturer chose bad shift rpm limits. Finally, there is definitely a human element at play for manual transmissions, good drivers can get pretty close to a DCT in fuel efficiency if they have a good feel for when to shift. However most of the time they don’t shift at the right time and it adds up to worse mileage.

      @deontv100 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I’m not Ben but I have driven the new Corolla apex(similar to SE, just nicer?). I own this Kia and it is not even comparable. This car is more in line with a civic si. It is sportier, has a nicer interior, and more “luxury” features. I considered the Corolla in manual as well but quickly discarded it as an option. This was because it just doesn’t make sense to pick a Corolla over this Kia if we are talking pure value for money. With that being said, I didn’t drive an SE and have no idea how much it cost. I was also looking for an economy “sports car”. So my POV is from someone who’s looking to have more fun than being practical.
