    • @MegaVoisey
      @MegaVoisey 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@2R1V3R yea it does. It disrupts air to fuel ratio and can cause a bunch of problems that the ecu usually recalibrates for. Dealers do not fix cars under warranty without the approval from Kia or the manufacturer. If the dealers service manger or mechanic decides the fault is bc of the aftermarket air intake, then you won’t be getting warranty work. Their word is what the manufacturers will take.
      I had warranty work for u joints denied bc I had 35’s Instead of oem 33’s on my truck. Service manger told the manufacturer it put more strain on the u joints.
      We all know it shouldn’t void it, but it’s not what you know or believe, it’s whatever the service manger or technicians say on the paperwork

      @@MegaVoisey you're probably talking about BMWs those are very sensitive like the M2 putting an intake on those will cause the computer to act weird an it needs a tune.. if not then a CEL will kick in. I had intake on turbo car an NA cars never had an issue. But then it depends on what you drive.

      Don't get your car serviced at the dealer , find a licensed mechanic or shop . If any parts fail or need warranty work .... take off the mods before you take it in to the dealer.

      Open air intakes on a stock car will feel slower so you feel that lag. You need a more free flowing exhaust, bigger injectors and a dyno tune to actually make it work. All upgrades are in sync so you can’t just bolt on one thing.

    • @PandaMotorworks
      @PandaMotorworks  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Actually these ECU's are advanced enough to adjust fuel target to make sure the car is running properly with most bolt ons. What it can not adjust and limits the increase in power is TQ Targets.

      @jerbsherb4391 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@PandaMotorworks See, I was under the same impression until I installed CAI. I tested it for about a month and realized how much MPG I was losing without any gain in performance. If you want to make it sound louder then sure, go for it. Otherwise, you are losing MPG and there will be hiccups in the driving as well.

    • @mefobiajeep9866
      @mefobiajeep9866 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jerbsherb4391 I agree. I have rarely if ever seen any advantage to a CAI. They do not allow any better flow or cfm because the intake charge is on demand from the engine and its already more than enough. Then you add a air filter that flows more air, which means it also lets larger particulates through which is detrimental for any internal combustion engine. There is a reason these things never come with a dyno sheet.....and if they do its +3 HP on the best pull, and -5 on the worst......

    • @antonybaddeley4085
      @antonybaddeley4085 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I've installed this on my Cerato (Forte) GT for the purpose of a bit more intake noise. The top section seals fairly well to the underside of the hood and there's been no change to the charged air temp at the throttlebody, nor any meaningful change to short/long-term fuel trim by the ECU. My MPG hasn't changed at all compared to stock. IF someone was installing this as a performance increase ON ITS OWN then they're probably in for a bad time.

    • @antonybaddeley4085
      @antonybaddeley4085 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mefobiajeep9866 The allowing-larger-particles-if-higher-airflow only really holds true if the two filters have the same surface area. The surface area of the AEM filter in this kit is at least twice that of the stock filter element - it's absolutely huge. Hence if this air filter has the same size restrictions as the stock panel it will easily out-flow the stock one without allowing larger particulates through (I'm not saying the AEM filter has the same level of filtration as the stock, I'm simply talking about the physics)
