22 is such a huge upgrade from the 21!! Heated seats, automatic climate control, seats, and so much more. 23... no differences. So glad I bought this car!!
I have the DCT which is still a blast. And I love being able to drive it with the paddles or the shifter. I normally don't just shove it in drive and go. I usually want some intuitiveness in my driving experience.
I have the same car and absolutely love it! I wish the gears were closer together, but nothing a short throw shifter can't solve. Also, I like to keep it in sport mode all the time...but starting smoothly in sport mode is a bit of an adjustment. I think the love for manuals is genetic within my family because my little sister refuses to drive an automatic as well.
your savage bro!! I only go into sport mode when I am driving aggressively. most of the time, i'm chill in normal mode trying to get into the high 30's for MPG. I hate that 70mph is at 3k RPM, but whatever.
The Forte is being discontinued after this year, and the K4 thats replacing it has no talk of having a GT model, nor a manual option. So 3:39 hits home; my 2024 GT that I just got is probably one of the last manual cars Kia will ever make. Such a shame.
that's the reason my wife hates them. you get going, and then you have to stop. you get going, and then you have to stop. I get it. sort of... it doesn't bug me or change my opinion of it.
I'm with you. I hate all the traffic lights. I'm stop, go, stop, go for my 16-mile commute home. It takes 45 minutes sometimes. A bicycle would almost be faster, but then, I'd get run over. : )
2:00 I also have adhd and not only is MT more enjoyable it makes me a safer driver because it passively makes me focus on driving because of all the little things you can do to make driving engaging (the no-brake minigame, practicing downshifts & heeltoe, practicing smooth driving and making the car seem like an AT) and AT makes my mind wander because theres nothing to do and causes many accident close calls
I 100 percent agree with you!! With an auto, it’s just constant thinking about random stuff and definitely not as safe. With a manual, it’s constantly thinking about what gear I should go into next.
The reason why I’m on here is because I will be getting my 2023 Kia forte GT with a manual transmission Monday. But yes man I agree with you. I love Emanuel it gives you something to do while you’re driving to me automatics or very boring. And I also have ADD. If they bring back manuals, you will actually have less distracted driving because then people will not be looking at their cell phones and texting while they’re driving. Also, it’s a very good anti-theft deterrent. Also, auntie relative to cause they’re not gonna be borrowing your car. Also, it keeps girlfriends from driving your vehicle. They love to watch you shift gears but they don’t want to do it. But I’m glad you’re enjoying your car. I believe I will enjoy mine.
On a side note. I drive a 2007 Pontiac G5 5 speed manual. Everything you said about the stick is relevant. And true. Love my manual. I'm 40. I've owned many cars. But only a few were automatics
Literally happened to me in 2012 with my Suzuki. We forgot a spare key (needed to make a copy and forgot it was in the glovebox) and one morning I go outside and my car door is open… and key is in the ignition. I was like, why didn’t they just drive off and steal it. Then I was telling the story to someone later and they asked “was it a manual”?! And then it hit me… they couldn’t find the D!! Lol
tips for shifting out of first so it doesn't feel sluggish? I've been driving manual for about a year now but still struggle with smooth upshifts. Great video.
Ugh. That’s hard to explain. My wife struggles with it too and I don’t know how to explain it. The art is letting go slowly, but quickly. Like, taking almost a full second I guess, before fully letting off. It’s definitely an art and takes time. I still mess it up from time to time.
Thank you for your video. I just got 1 today . And I have my thoughts. My civic ek way faster of the line but I'm new to this turbo set up. And I love driving the car
Hey there. Been looking into getting this exact same car (even manual transmission). I wanted to ask how its been going so far? I am currently with my 16-17 year old scion TC manual and finally looking to upgrade. How does it do on snowy roads? I hear its an over all fun car and best bang for your buck. Here in South FL its hard to find one to test drive but hoping this weekend I can finally test one out. Thanks!

I love driving manual, currently have a Mazda 6 manual, and looking to downsize into a sport compact with a manual. The Forte GT is very high on that list. However, I injured my ankle the other day, and the following day, my clutch pedal never felt heavier. I was grimacing in pain every time I had to up or down shift. It was quite excruciating. After that experience, I am also rethinking the DCT option on the Forte. However I just don't trust a DCT for long-term reliability.
I have a 22 GT manual as well and I’m so glad I bought it. Such a blast to drive and it literally has everything I could ever want in the car.

Does it feel like it lacks power or is it still fun

I drove a manual for many years. If stop and go traffic wasn't so bad around here sometimes I'd do it again.

I was at Kia yesterday and saw this in Gray, fell in love with it and asked my wife if i can have one. Awesome car. I love manual car too
I had a 2010 Kia Forte Koup manual and I loved it as well! Enjoy the new ride!
Thank you. Like you I also have ADHD and I also decided to the Kia Forte GT Manual.
Traded in my 2020 Civic Sport Manual for a 23 Forte GT Manual today! FREAKING FUN TO DRIVE

It's been a whole year and I still love it so much.
@@wwjoshdew that’s awesome. I got my car yesterday it’s a 2023 model. It’s very fun to drive
this video is very helpful to me since i am looking for a new reliable car and i have really been drawn to these kias.
I drive this thing every single day. I love it so much!
Been with you since we we're rooting Samsung phones in 2011. Og status

@@Th3lnf4mous nice!! I remember in 2006, I almost traded our 2005 Cavalier for a 2006 G6! But decided not to, because of the negative equity.
And most people that will try to steal your car can't even drive manuals so you've got an added security

I watched this 10x after hear about the 2023 KIA Forte manual in week 👍
I feel you. Respect for vlog👍
Thanks for the kind words man. I appreciate the feedback.

Teach me ur upshifts please 🙏 they look way better than mine
Thinking about switching my 2017 Cruze LT automatic over to the Forte GT manual 2023 or 2024 if its out within 1-2 months.
You’re just like me. I can’t find one for my daily car.
Its better not to rest/place your hand on the gear stick when not changing gears, nice vehicle........
It’s a 24 year habit. Since I was 14… and I’m conscious about it now and trying not to do it.

I freaking love it. It has so much power from what I came from. I get about 400 miles range on each fill up.
How are you liking the car after a year?
Still love it like I did a year ago! so much fun to drive and great on gas.
How's the wind noise in the car?
How is the clutch and throws from gear to gear, is the clutch heavy and are the throws long?
i can relate to him so much

dude more pov driving vids
I’ve been considering making another recently! Thanks for the feedback and encouragement.
Does a 2018 Forte with a manual transmission have hilltop assist?
Sorry. I can't answer that. It's predictable on my car. Hold brake while in neutral. As soon as you press clutch, it holds.
josh you forgot your OG outro!
My bad!! Lol
I totally understand 😂
understand what?
That stick is horrible to shift
I disagree.
dont wiggle on the shifter like you did a few times in your video. it puts unnecessary stress on your transmission.
He's making sure it's in neutral it's completely safe.
@@EdwardBoicourtIV You aint gonna cause (no) issues with the transmission with the neutral gearstick wiggle........
