The speedrun is down to just under 2 hours and that's at extremely low levels so I don't think 3-4 would be unreasonable even for someone not speedrunning the game at level 100
@@TheSCPStudio I was making a point about how each type of combat has its own category. Yes RuneScape doesn't have Parry but it does have a category for every type of damage plus defense and about 30 other skills and each takes 200+ hrs to grind.
Pro tip: grind to level 10 at the highest for destiny island then leave. You’ll be a step or two ahead of everything else and will level up quickly throughout the campaign. Not having a memory card back in the PS2 era when KH came out gave me a lot of time to replay that intro area lol

13 or 14 was my sweet spot. I remember getting to where all the heartless come and I would just take them all out, enter and exit the seaside shack, and they’d respawn. I’d do it for a few hours before moving on
@Yuuukau Uh no. KH2 does not have Adaptive Difficulty. No clue where you got that idea. You choose a Difficulty level when you start a new game. The Difficulty doesn't change. Go watch a video of Sora starting at level 99 and just obliterating everything.
I wanted to do this one day, I was 8 hours in and between 30-40 my power went out without me saving and honestly I haven't touched the game since that was like three years ago lol

I've always felt that Selphie was the best for grinding experience on Destiny Island. She has an attack that can reliably be baited out and parried. It's used in relatively quick succession and gives two tech point procs for each parry.
Wakka is far, far more reliable in terms of ease of use. And realistically, most players won't stay on the island that long so there is no point in learning something the hard way when the easy way is faster. Of course, I haven't done the exact math of this for when you're REALLY dedicated, like this guy. Maybe a skilled player CAN get a faster xp rate with selphie in the long run.
this feels like one of those scenarios where the player says "alright cool im 100 now, ive grinded against the the strongest people on the islands" and then get to the next level and are terrified of the unknown after being so used to the first stage lmao
I saw a guy who modded in a max level Sora with max MP so he was able to do things like Strike Raid with the wooden sword and I’m just like, “I wonder what these guys think when they see Sora teleporting his sword back to his hand.”
Whenever I played Kingdom Hearts 1, I usually leave Destiny Island around level 21 after fighting Riku and Wakka multiple times Kingdom Hearts 2, was at least level 15 after leaving the Station of Serenity from respawning the enemies to grind exp Kingdom Hearts BBS, Early game my favorite grinding spot for Terra is Enchanted Dominion getting to level 35 while also creating the best command skills for him as well. It’s a great spot for Ventus as well when he goes to this world getting him to the same level as Terra. As for Aqua, best grinding spot early game for her is Castle of Dreams but you can still do Enchanted Dominion as well. I had her at Level 42

I never left destiny island because I didn’t know there was anything else to the game. I knew about the door in the cave, but never figured out how to get through it, besides one time when my progress wasn’t saved
Honestly, it's way easier for the Door to be Opened & to have Shadows spawn after sparring to like level 20-30 if you chose wisely in the Station of Awakening for the ability progression; otherwise your doing way too much in trying to time the tech points, when its easier to 1Hit KO & run back to the seaside shack to force the respawn by entering & exiting afyer wiping out the beach of mobs. It's faster, but not by alot when you realize you will still be spending days grinding; from personal experience it's best to spend a couple hours each day with a podcast or audiobook instead of trying to force yourself.
I have a save file from probably about 15-20 years ago where I was working on the same thing. Destiny islands was my happy place as a kid so I wanted a save file where I never left. Last time I played I was about level 25 still on the island and even that had been a grind! (Parrying Tidus for HOURS). I may have to get back to it on my old PS2!🔥
You're doing it wrong. You can do it in just below 12 hours with tidus. You have to get the timing perfect but there's only a handful of attack patterns so you memorise them quickly enough. Level 99 takes a little less than 12 hours if you time it right. 🤦♂️🤦♂️
If I ever did this, I would grind to 68, 69, 70 or so then leave Destiny Islands and level up naturally over the course of the game. Props to your grind
I'm just thankful Kingdom Hearts isn't one of those games where leveling up is pointless because the enemies get stronger too. Your health increases, their attack increases. Your attack increases, their defenses increase. You get better armor, they get better weapons. When you finally reach max, you feel like you're still level 1 because all enemies, including the grunts, are still just as strong as you. Good god, I hate those games. I spent hours grinding just to make the game even harder.

Figjt em one on one intil you can take all 3. Run away until they use their long distance skill and just slide dash at them. Guaranteed tech points each time. Only works on Titus and rope girl. Only hit the balls back if you're far away so they miss. Kill ball guy when ready with his own balls. Once you hit level 25, you can one tap the basic heartless. Advance until you JUST get the keyblade and you gotta go to the secret room. DONT GO TO THE SECRET ROOM. Just farm the heartless and go to the shack to make them respawn. You get about 120xp each run if you kill them all. Makes it much faster.
