They put bugs in him!" and the context is that this takes place in a digitization of Jiminy's Journal; Data Sora says this about the personification of the Journal taking the form of Data Riku. Maleficent is putting virus bugs into him to corrupt him since her goal at the time is to take over the digital worlds and probe for information about the Book of Prophecies.

Maleficent is the only one that actually is good, because it doesn't tell the exact same story, and therefore has a reason to exist beyond catering to the "cartoons are for children" crowd.

@@Jackbarrany hey man, magic be magic, you can make it do anything you like. Names have always held power in magic ideas. Symbology has always held power. That's why the blood of virgins and a demon's true name as such cliches. The blood symbolizes innocence and the violation of it. The name symbolizes knowledge and the control knowledge grants.
Japanese as a language is highly symbolic in nature. You can see this idea in much better peices of media, like Spirited Away, where the witch steals portions of people's names to forcibly take control over them. The nobodies are renamed by Xemnas to symbolize the birth of a new being, the point of commonality that binds the team, his control over that new being, and more directly, as a secret method of magical control.
The shirt mark is just an expansion on that idea. Sora would have never accepted being renamed so that this magic symbol is a part of his very being, so Xehanort did the next best thing, and snuck it on to his person in a way that no one would notice: by taking of everyone's weird fashion choices.
One little thing that happens a lot:

I all ways gave him ethers and normal potions in kingdom hearts 1 like 2 potions and everything else was ethers just because he would all ways die and could use cura in fact I would rarely ever use items so I all ways gave them to goofy and Donald, 3 battles later your entire fucking stock is gone and that's with only using items in emergencies

Honestly I wouldn't mind a "Goofy Betrayal" thing. Disney characters severly lacks impact on the lore of the games (I mean, we know why). But maleficient managed to be so cool and evil in 1 and re:coded. And generaly in the first games there was more interraction between disney characters and ff/kh characters.

I also loved the dodge roll bit...I love Kingdom Hearts 2, my fave in the series. To this day, I still have no idea how to unlock the dodge roll and I’ve read tutorials on it. Keep in mind I first played the series 2 years ago. It’s so convoluted to figure out, I could probably beat the game on critical mode and get the ultima weapon without dodging because it’s easier then figuring out how to unlock it
In KH2 it was removed and replaced as an action command. So it doesn't really exist in KH2. In KH2 Final Mix they added a new form called Limit Form. It basically swapped you to the KH1 character and gave you abilities that suited that style. The ability you got from leveling up that form was Dodge Roll, so in KH2FM you get Dodge Roll. If you never played Final Mix, that is why you haven't been able to unlock that ability in KH2.

I think the Disney stories in those games were told just fine. Yeah, they go on for ages with all of the unskippable dialogue and the fights, but for the most part, they do stay true to the original material (which is more than I can say for Disney's recent live-action remakes).
The fact that we can all absolutely tear into this series yet still love and cherish it is something that I feel is very unique to this fandom

This is a great way to explain something I was explaining to someone the other day. It's like they just strung a bunch of ideas for cool scenes together and made that a plot, and it was just so flashy that, for like, two games and the 10 spin-offs, nobody noticed that the plot never had rails to begin with.
