Absolutely fantastic film in all aspects, this one goes down as my all time favorite..! Since I was born in Bradford the local film scenes bring back lots of memories from that era.
I absolutely agree I am singing it twenty hours a day it’s so catchy just love it I want it on repeat all day and night would love more information on twisterralla sons and band
try and get keith waterhouse books he wanted julie christie for the role and got her city lights is my favourite book but they are all good and if you can see his mate peter o'toole in jeffrey barnard is unwell that is in my opinion his best stage performance.
Tom Courtney was also in The lonliness of the long distance runner by Alan Sillitoe. Saturday night and Sunday morning is also a fantastic british film of the 60s, stars Albert finney, great book too
Yes, just found out about the Billy Liar connection. The lyrics on most sites for Ride's 'Twisterella' show: "Look at Twisterella, she hasn't got a fella", but it could be "Cookie Twisterella' as it sounds similar, and if you didn't know the original, it would make sense. It doesn't help that the two lines at the end of the song are deep in the mix, so not super clear...
love this film especially the rockers outside terrorising the birds outside the Locarno, fuckin brill...Do you know if this song was released at all????
I must admit, as someone who has enjoyed the Ride song for the past 32 years, this video is very surreal.
Always loved this film. I guess we are all Billy Liars or fantasists in our own way.
Such a brilliant film 😂 watch it over and over..billy tell me about are cottage in Devon with rosses round the front door..

Wow! No wonder Julie Christie became a star...she has the most remarkable face. You can't take your eyes off of her!
Brilliant!!!
"....do you mean to say Billy that you've been having relations with this girl... ? ....brilliant..... British film at its best
Did the blonde say, "... Look what's crawled out of the corned beef?"
