Boom mics are used primarily in film purposes, where the microphone should be positioned close to the audio source without appearing in the frame of the shot.

And I think you also meant that nostalgia tends to 'paint' everything rose, thus not really objective. Also, we (people) generally tend to think that the 'good old days' were so much better and peaceful compared to now. Statistically that has been proven wrong and we never lived in such a 'stable' quiet world as we do now (however with the negative twitch of smartphone all day). I met Helen About 15 years ago at a conference in Harrisburg Pa. What an awesome voice and personality. You just have to hear her singing live. What a strong voice. Better than any other female singers in America for sure!!!!!

A long time ago back when I was a kid of 11 I was at the Cinema with my family and the pre-movie was a documentary about Helen Shapiro making this track and her fist performance of it..wow..I loved her then, now I'm still thinking wow..she had a great deep voice..a real talent..weren't those days fun!

If it wasn’t for the fact that I knew better, I would never have believed that this was a 14 or15 year old girl singing. Her voice was unbelievably mature and she sounds much older.
