This has been posted, but without the intro showing Tina & the Ikettes coming on stage, which in itself is a sight to see. Tight, hot version, steamrolling away.

Happy birthday to Tina Turner .If James Brown is considered the hardest working man in show business, you are the woman. We used to get tired watching your act
Tina was also a great comedienne in her early days with Ike she would set up a song with a comical story and have the audience laughing she really knew how to connect with the audience
You are correct. It’s insanely amazing. I grew up with this. Back then when Tina came on tv the world stop. Black. White. Old. Young. She was and remains a force
I know a lot of folks will disagree--but I thought Tina really was at her best with Ike. I know Ike was a total scumbag--but MAN, the Ike and Tina Revue just KILLED it!! In 1969 The Rolling Stones signed them on to open for them during a major US tour. After 7 performances they let them go because the Ike and Tina Revue blew the Stones AWAY--blew em' off the stage!! Their egos couldn't handle it--so they got the boot. (And this is when the Stones were in their PRIME--THAT shows you how dynamic the Ike and Tina Revue was--AMAZING!!)
It is so crazy to watch her old performances. She is #1 no one will ever hold up to her. There are no women singers that went though what she did and came back to be the STAR is is/was. TINA!
@@nyterpfan I agree. I know the history and it taints the way I felt about the Revue, but Man! When they revved up, it would shake you to your soul! Tina and the Ikettes were Always On Point, the band itself was Bad-Ass! Nothing like it today.

As little kids, like age five, in the late sixties and early seventies, we used to love when Tina Turner would come on with her great dancing. We used to get so excited. Hard not to feel her/their energy.
This version is next level unbelievably awesome. It is so touching to me that when Tina left that monster Ike, one of her backup dancers (I can't remember her name, but I know she had a TV show about her restaurant) would always make sure Tina had enough money to eat, etc. when Tina was at a really low point. It made Tina cry, remembering what her friend did for her, when Tina had nothing to offer her back. That is female friendship at it's best.
