Did this with some of my buddies. Was an amazing nostalgia trip. The game really needs these cryptic grand adventure-mystery things that take you all over the world. It makes the world feel alive and important again.
Add some indiana Jones adventures as well, reuse old dungeons with new enemies

@@ChinnuWoW Thats the whole thing though with these really esoteric chains. Its supposed to be a deep hidden mystery. Eventually you'd start hearing about it in game, or see someone with the mount and ask where they got it.
I can vouch for this as well. I adore and have done all of these secret related quest lines and tasks. The Waist of Time, Uuna, Baa’l, and the rest. These are easily some of the most interesting one off single player adjacent content I’ve done in the game in my opinion.

For anybody who hasn't done this yet if you want to do it the time trial can be done with other members in your party and it is stupid easy having a second person ready to start the ziggurats as soon as you douse the thing with holy water to start the timer.
Literally any class just needs to have bare tartar and you're good
I did it as a DK. The only classes I wouldn't recommend doing this on is a priest or a warlock.
@@Kylora2112 Priest is fine with feather and Body & Soul. Holy Nova makes the killing trivial too.
@@Kylora2112 It's doable with a Holy Priest if you use Power Word: Shield (with Body and Soul talent) and Angelic feathers. You alternate them to chain your cooldowns for a long sprint. Holy Nova for aoe spam and Shadow Word: Pain for ranged kills
Hopefully they will do an Old Sunken Temple bring back related with the Nightmare Dragons and maybe something with old UBRS
The fact they havent done shit with sunken temple and they keep it very inprominent to how important that place is lore wise... Gives me hope That they still have big plans or there is some speculation from there we have not cooped up yet. Why let such a timeless piece with roots to alot of good and bad powers connected to the in between, fade fade.
@@TownPortals They actually did a small thing this patch - the green dragons there can now once again drop "Dreamscale" when skinned. this material was missing since cataclysm, only used in one recipe, which was impossible to make! My hope is that is a hint there is more to come, especially with the green dragon plots coming up in the main story.
Found out my old Spectral Essence I once obtained in Vanilla still worked, so I could skip the step to repair.
Also, as a veteran from that time, the Argent Quartermasters can create a Commission for you for free.
It is free if you reputation is at exalted
Just to clarify for other commenters, this is still the Wrath version of Naxx, meaning no Corrupted Ashbringer, and if you already have the original Argent Dawn Commission, or Specteral Essence, you can skip those steps. Each run of Naxx will also net you 15 Stones, not 14.
They should do this for every end-game content that new players pass by.

this kind of content, no. It's not possible for 99% of players to even notice these "quests" exist. They're discovered and solved by people who are dedicated to secret finding. The only realistic way that someone will complete this is by hearing about it, looking it up online and following a guide. Idk about you but I don't think that should be a new players experience
I really like this. This is a good way of keeping old content alive and fun.

They did it with zg but without the mounts sadly:( can get all the old appearances tho now
The guide skips to mention how to get Exalted with Argent Dawn in order to unlock the Naxxramas portal. Argent Dawn reputation is unlocked through the questline given by Fiona starting at the wagon near the border between EPL and WPL. The quests required to unlock Argent Dawn reputation takes about 20-30 minutes total. Once progressed through the chain, completing Lord Maxwell Tyrosus's quest "Argent Call: The Trial of the Crypt" will then bring the player to Revered reputation.

While i love secrets like this i kinda wanted this to be longer with unique rewards. Also i kinda wanted them to bring back the actual vanilla naxxramas from back in the day. Wotlk naxxramas is great aesthetically but i would still prefer the old one that i had never stepped foot into.
yeah that's the only thing I'm slightly unhappy with. After all we already have WotlK Naxx, one just needs to go to boring tundra ^^
Blizz bringing back old /removed content, is a fantastic step in the correct direction. Now they just need to bring back the whole pre-cata world, and content.
That's what WoW classic is for unless they do a whole world reset or something
@@BeyondDaX imho they should do the opposite, make a new Cataclysm like expansion where they progress even more the base continents, and put new questlines etc... they can do what they want with the phasing technology
If Archmage Desantos isn't at Lights Hope Chapel (she wasn't for my evoker), check all the way to the south at the entrance of The Ruins of the Scarlet Enclave
The other thing that wasn't mentioned is that the music within Naxxramas is amazing, and since you can do this with all of your alts you can continue to listen to the awesomness that is the Naxx music.
"Celebrates heritage" is a strange way to say "sells tokens for poor bankrupt blizz"
I love that they make the mount drop a very tricky and extensive process to make a very logical and normal sequence of events happen.
"Of course this guy drops the mount, he just rode it into battle."
I won't likely get the set complete, or even one piece because of the gold sink. However, i am so excited to do this just for the nostalgia and theme of it all. I miss the undead and i miss the old world. Its what brought me into wow after frozen throne wc3
Phylacterweave can drop from the random items, so if you're lucky you dont have to spend any gold
@@awasuhl4255 @awasuhl4255 I bought 100 helms yesterday that's 300 boss kills from 20 alts.. all together i got 13 Phylacterweave. It requires 1400 Phylacterweave for a full set. Only 1387 to go. LOL this is not a good way to try and get Phylacterweave at all. Blizzard made sure you could make good use of them wow tokens aka your credit card!

Right under the main gate of Tyr's Hand. The place w/ a bunch of undead roaming about...almost like that's the theme for EPL and WPL
I remember back in the day we created a team of the 10 best players we knew of to run ZG every week. We had a list of who got the mount, and when they got it, and we just knocked them all out in order. There was something very special about that; and being a part of it was something I'll never forget.
They need to do more things like that.
I love that content/questline, it was very fun to do. And to farm the vintage Scholomance. Obviously yeah, Tier3 costs and the grind are insane but other than that it's super cool. This is the "old content content" that I wanted to see, please make more of this Blizz.
In this case it's not that the new players skipped the old naxx it's that the grind and the skill level required for naxx 40 was so hard very few people ever cleared that version before it was moved to northrend for naxx 10/25
I absolutely still have characters with original scourge stones and argent dawn commissions stashed away in their banks. Definitely looking forward to doing this.
Love the feel of it. This is what players love. Even if you don't get around to gathering up the peices for the sets, people will do this anyway because it's just plain old fashioned fun.
This gives me hope that the swift zulian tiger will be obtainable again (without the black market auction)

T3 price was an instant motivation killer for me. I love the warlock and warrior T3 but there is no way I’ll be farming up the gold for T3. I don’t even have 1mil across all my toons.
Blizz is just trying to get people to buy the gold
Almost got me to subscribe again but that price tag was instant no.
I thought I could grind out T3 or have a friend craft T3 but unless I can find someone with it then it's the BMAH for me.

There are tons of solid methods for making 10k raw gold per hour in WoW. The prices for each piece are quite mild and more of a broad gold sink.
They should make Atiesh available again
I have the body and the base, all I need is the head, and to do the last quest and I am done.
There is no reason, there is already multiple items in the game with the same model as it

Do you need to do this as the armor type that you want to get the set for?? Can I farm for the warlock T3 set on my hunter for instance

I adore how Blizzard has been treating this old content, between this patch and the ZA/ZG updates. I hope they keep doing this and hopefully it is leading up to a cool anniversary event next year :)

Can someone please explain to me the purpose of doing the next round of stuff if you are around in vanilla Max? Aren't the transmogs exact same?

There are a couple things I should say that weren't addressed in the video. That being, there is a second location that Archmage Domatos could be, which is right outside the entrance to the ruins of the scarlet enclave. Second thing would be, there are actually 15 scourge stones you can farm off naxxrammas, not 14.
Also phylacterweave has a small chance of dropping from the random gear as well

I totally agree good sir, letting us have a way to go and farm all this old stuff is just way to great. Loving it!
It is worth noting that while older players who did the Argent Dawn stuff in Vanilla can get a new Commission directly from the NPCs in Chillwind Camp, IF you go in and kill Darkmaster Gandling with a Seal of the Dawn (the old rare quality upgraded Argent Dawn trinket) the scourge stone WILL drop. as long as you're in the old Scholomance.
Full Corruptor stones for Naxx is now 15. They drop from Gluth as well.
This was some of the most fun I've had in the game in ages, also helps that I've made 2.5m from the recipes too
sound reminiscent of the old T0/T0.5 quest chain.
For players just finding out about this, it's not too late for you to cash in on it. If you gamble and get lucky, you can get pieces that are worth hundreds of thousands of gold. I've made millions every week since they released this
If you had the argent dawn commission in the past but have deleted it, you can head to light’s hope chapel to get a replacement. You cannot make a new one, so if you can’t loot the cracked one, check your bank and void storage and then check with argent dawn.

not sure what's going on but the ward of naxxramas just refuses to spawn the little portal thingy by the portcullis. followed everything to the T and even compared some videos and guides
I did all the bosses without the trinket on and never got an invaders scourgestone, then I put it on and did it again and was getting them. Maybe its just bad luck but I had to seem to have the trinket on to get them.
I’ll be doing this just to do the content, probably won’t be getting any T3 but it’s great to see old content like this getting new life. Better very late than never…
Should have just been a questline to access Old Naxx where people can farm the transmogs as the Titans intended. The extra steps requiring someone who already has the sets to craft them and the ridiculous pricing for the materials is insane. Not that Blizz cares, they're just looking for more ways to sell tokens, and threw the crafting requirement as a bone to those who bought the sets on the BMA.
They wanted to appeal to the hardcore classic level grinders that would seek out the profit making potential in this stuff
Or they could recognize that those sets are special to the people who actually did the content when it was new, and difficult, and people can accept they can't have everything, and go get the new things. Sadly, bliz likes their money, and so they will pull a Twitter Blue and let you buy being cool, making nobody cool in the process.

I was one of those who started after BC was live and never experienced even a farm run of Old Naxx so naturally i was excited to do this
Yes you do unlock "old" Scholomance but thats it. All you technically doing by completing the chain to unlock "secret access portal to Naxx" is you are adding the grappling hook / grapple points into the Wrath Naxx raid (for those expecting to see T3 Naxx similarly to Old Scholo you will be extremely disappointed
If you dont believe me, when you zone in my bigwigs addon pops up to tell me it cant load Wrath Naxx raid bosses because i dont have it turned on.
Ok , wierd.
But then i zoned out through the green swirl portal to find myself in Northrend
Killing Sapphiron even gets you a Focusing Iris drop ( the Malygos raid item for Eye of Eternity )

I thought I was getting old Naxx with all the old loot tables available and when I started getting those death knight shoulders I knew this was not just a bug, not that I had done something wrong, but a complete sham and waste of my time.

I'm still confused about the naxxramas bit, when I went in it was still the wrath Version. I did get the t set. So need I put it on 10 man for the classic version?
The step that requires someone with a full set of T3 is just stupid. This is already going to be a gold sink and it's not like T3 has been prestigious (as far as anything can be in a game) since it was added to the BMAH. I feel like someone on the team had a hard time letting go lol
Would be perfect if they sync the old content so it's not mindless autotack, but more like a solo scenario with at least somewhat of a challenge
I had to use the trinket in old Scholo to get Scourgestones, didn't unlock account wide for me?

What about Protection Paladin with AoE build that dips into Retribution? Hammer of the Righteous instead of Blessed Hammer (because Hammer of the Righteous does more overall damage than Blessed Hammer and aggros less extra mobs), etc. etc.
I started in Cataclysm and after a week of being told Rogues couldn't tank, created a Paladin.
Does the corrupted ashbringer drop in this Version of nax?
This sounds like a fun thing to do, however an undead recolored low res mount isn't exactly worth all that effort, but at least there is a ton of other stuff to grab along the way.
I did all this just to get the free wrist after the parkour, and my dk can't use it. I can prob send to a warrior alt but I wonder if the transmog will move over for my dk.
So, the rewards are old world and t3 xmog and a green forsaken mount?
There goes my uniqueness to having 8/9 (only missing ring) t3 and full leather frost resist set

I unlocked it when it came out took me a few days but it was awesome had to use my hunter cause I was 10 sec slow on my warrior thank God it's account bound

I was excited for this until you mentioned doing something that is timed. My anxiety instantly shot through the roof, lol. I hate stuff like that. But after watching the video and seeing that it's just a small part of the whole, I'll definitely be doing this! Thank you!

No, its the Wotlk Version of Naxxramas, No idea if Blizz plans to make it obtainable or not but who knows.
