    The rear and front sway bars work very well on the 2WD Tundras.

    personally Im glad the rear sway bar didn't fit when I lifted mine and I am very content/satisfied with how it rides as is now the pro suspension is really amazing just went up the canyon with my daughter she has a few friends with Tundras and they offroad quite often as do I she even made the comment how well my truck handled and how smooth it was going up the canyon she was very impressed, and I will say considering the actual speed at which I travel off road is pretty fast and the truck is still so nimble and smooth. I smile every single time!

    I have an ‘18 TRD Off Road. I had a sway bar put on the back and it’s been great. It really keeps the truck from leaning in curves.

    If you have a big lift like a 4.5 inch I would highly recommend keeping sway bars on. However if your going to go off roading , you can remove them before you go out but if you put them back on you will have to re torque them so it’s best most of the time to just leave them alone on a bigger lifted truck.

    I like the direction you are going with the Fox shocks. If you are going to remove the sway bars for the new TRD Suspension, I say do it a few weeks before you swap over from the Bilsteins so you can really see if there is a big difference "apples to apples"

    The sway bar takes away from what the TRD Pro suspension is supposed to do by removing body roll it fails to articulate so it lowers the ability to insulate you from bumps. Lower wheel rates translate into better traction off road.
    On lower level Tundras the rear sway bar is a huge help on road and doesn't make for a jarring ride. The front sway bar doesn't help as much on road handling especially on the on/off ramps but it introduces far more jarring so I took mine off and sold it. A nice in between is the Sequoia bar, you get a little extra up front enough to feel it in the curves without making the truck jarring. If the suspension is rated for the much stiffer TRD bar the Sequoia bar won't cause problems and is plug and play. You will need endlinks that are rated for the stiffer bar and the whole upgrade is pricey though so IMHO the rear bar alone is the best handling mod bang for the buck.

    I did the Rear Sway bar and I like it. Should I do the Front TRD sway bar as well?? 2016 Tundra TRD OR Crew Cab.
    I do like my truck now as far as the ride. No Lift. Stock suspension

  • @nickhuther5122
    @nickhuther5122 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I agree. TRD isn't just for off road. It's for various racing applications. My 2015 Pro is perfect from factory... almost.lol Like you said, the sway bars are awesome IF you are looking for the performance specific to their functionality. On a off road driven platform, the TRD sway bars have no purpose. On a lowered or stock street queen, they are a perfect upgrade! I love the Tundra and will be a Tundra TRD Pro owner for as long as I can afford. You have a great channel by the way.

    That’s why I love it, I don’t have those stif front springs so the TRD Front bar with the rear is great.
    I assure you, the TRD Sport Tundra doesn’t have the same springs.

    Thanks for sharing your experience and observation. It sounds like non TRD Pro or trucks with non upgraded suspensions will benefit more from the two sway bars. I like the ride and handling on my stock TRD non pro 2016 Tundra.

    I installed rear sway bar on my TRD Pro. I don't do any hardcore off- roading I'm more master of pavement and I hated body roll especially while cornering, so for me it was perfect solution for that problem. Ride is little bit more stiff in rear section, nothing crazy but truck is more predictable, grips very well on curvy stretches, side or head winds are barely noticeable. It handles paved roads better in my opinion with no harm to ride comfort.

    I have a 13 Tundra, SR5 with 6” lift, bilstien shocks front and back. My truck handles great even pulling a heavy trailer with the stock sway bars. Seems to me that most guys putting this mod on are trying to convince themselves that spending the cash was worth it. Almost every vid shows guys TRYING like crazy to tell a difference in ride, usually they can’t much. Tundras are great trucks out the door, and some mods are really not worth it. If you have a big truck, it’s going to get pushed around some in a strong wind and there’s nothing you’re going to do about it.

    I have a 2018 1794 TRD Off-road with the TRD rear sway bar. I have just picked up a brand new set of the 2019 TRD PRO FOX shocks and had Toyota install them. The truck now sets about 2 in higher in the front and is level with the rear. Completely different fell on the ride. I did noticed that the TRD Fox suspension seems to be slightly bumpy at lower speeds then the old TRD off-road shocks. My question is when you had your rear sway bar on with your pro suspension did you feel the bumps coming from the rear shocks or the front? I think ill try to find a disconnect kit for the rear bar or just disconnect it to see if it makes a difference. What’s anyone thoughts?

    Did you pur the TRD PRO suspension on your Platinum Crewmax? If so. How much better does it ride over the stock suspension. I've been thinking about getting an Icon Vehicle Dynamics Stage 1 suspension for my 2018 Platinum Crewmax. I want no lift. Just s softer ride. My Tundra doesn't go offroad. What's your thoughts?

  • @fabianmolina7784
    @fabianmolina7784 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    After I upgraded my suspension to old man emu heavy duty front coilovers and ome rear shocks I kinda hated my ride it was very stiff. After a lot of research on forums I found many ppl saying to remove the front sway bar since the suspension is so stiff you really don't need it. So I gave it a try and to my surprise it was a day and night difference it rides so much better and the body roll is really not that bad from when it was on. My suggestion if you do a lot of offroading or have a extremely stiff ride after a suspension upgrade is remove the sways. (Unless you have a 6inch lift) that would not be a good idea

The SR5 felt ok, the TRD Off Road felt like a Caddy and the TRD Sport felt like the F250 Super Duty I traded in. So as much as I liked the TRD Off Road I just changed out the factory Bilsteins for the Rancho RS9000XL for the best of all driving conditions. Be it off on the trails, everyday driving or towing my 30' camper. I'm just bummed out that Rancho no longer makes the MyRide system to adjust the shocks in cab on the fly :-(

    Dude, I don't fully agree. I have a 2018 TRD Off Road. I didn't come with rear sway bar. Truck rode like you were gliding over baby rabbits. I put the TRD rear sway bar on and now I feel every road joint. It is a very jarring feeling, almost to the point of where I'd say it's "axle hop". So I don't think it is exclusive the the TRD PRO. I will say though that the truck sticks to the road very well otherwise. I can corner pretty hard and the truck just stays planted. The only time I don't feel that axle hop kind of feeling is when I have a little weight in the box. Also, mine has the 8' box, I wonder if that has anything to do with what I am experiencing. What do you or others think?
