- Fixing Tire Rub
In this video, journey along with us as we fix the notorious problem for the Toyota Tundra. Tire Rub! When you install larger tires with your lift, you will always are wondering about what will fit and not rub. We have found a company, SOCAL SUPER TRUCKS, located in San Bernardino, CA. They have created body mount plates for the Tundra. The processes involves cutting the body mount plate you currently have, then welding in the new body mount plate. This gives you all the room you need for your new tires to make sure you avoid tire rub. See the link below about an article created by off-road.com

Dude u talk more on this video. you didn't show us nothing.
I’m halfway through the video and have to comment...I’ve gone way to big on my tire/wheel combo because it looks awesome! Running 325/60/20 with 20x9 & -18 offset...with a leveling kit LOL. It doesn’t rub as bad as you’d think, everything that can be removed under the front is gone. The real problem I’m having is what you’re talking about...thanks for the video!!!
Great solution. Rubbing is my biggest concern in going to a larger setup!😎
Thanks for the info. You should have shown some video of the shop.. I'm sure they wouldn't mind the free advertising!
Just grind that back where the tire rubs….get a grinder with a metal grinding wheel and grind that plate back as far as you want so it doesn’t rub anymore…thats what I did…truck isn’t gonna collapse bc you ground off part of that plate and some of that caster support
Where’s the link for the plates?
Great explanation, just add more pictures of the equipment..and what exactly was done
What size wheel and tires are you running?
I have a 2021 Tundra, just got a lift and the tires is rubber just like your ,the one you show in your video here, can you send me a picture of how it looks like...
Fixed this with a hammer. Done.
I'm having this problem right now on my 2011 Tundra with Readylift 4" front 2" rear SST. Running 18X9 -12 offset with 295/70R18. Taking it to the shop in the morning. Hopefully they can fix it like SoCal did.
I'm having same problem with my 4 inch ready lift
I love the truck next to your Tundra on the right hand side. It's back half and rear end with the Magtech cover is sexy eye candy. It need some brake lights/ running lights in the top right hand corner however. 3:36 in the video. And also if anybody is looking for that type of work and lives in the San Bernardino area I would personally suggest stopping by SoCal super trucks and checking them out. it is a top-notch shop been there myself. Then again anybody in SoCal is at the heart of All Desert Sports about the only thing SoCal is good for LOL JK.
What offset do you have. Would it make a difference if you had a higher offset? Love the vids
I damaged my drivers side front wheel and broke the tie rod end on my 2004 toyota tundra and now the wheel has been pushed back with evidence of the caster and camber adjustment bolts and lower control arm not centered. Can I remove and recenter lower control arm enough to bring the tire towards front of vehicle and stop rubbing along with alignment back to factory specs or is this just a lost cause? I am hoping to just replace tie rod and repair this myself with the exception of taking to alignment shop in hopes wheel is not rubbing anymore...please any advice is well appreciated...
I have a 2012 Silverado with a 3 inch leveling kit and I'm clearing 35s no issue only problem I have Is at full crank
Same truck I have and same issue at full crank
Where are they located to get this done?
I have a tacoma 2004 lifted 3 inches. I bought new front suspension in the front and the back is on blocks. I feel rubbing in the left wheel.
What did they charge you on the cut and welding?
right like half the reason i clicked on the vido lol
Okay I’m confused about the offset .. I thought negative offset makes your wheels go out past the fenders like they do (which I want ) but I want basically or close to what you have . You have a +13 offset though right ? I’m so confused I just want the wheels to stick out without having a deep dish pizza rim ...
Been to that shop its pretty cool.
It’s weird that you rubbed on 33, did the UCAs contribute to it?
I did 285 65 20=34.5 just removed the mud flaps.
+Josh Gonzalez thanks for watching. Unfortunately, yes, the new UCA’s put 6.4 of Caster on the alignment. This caused some unwanted rub.
What was your wheels offset? Ty
San Bernardino! Bring your gun!lol
Yt is a giant infomercial
Forgot to add your shirt is awesome!!! and still waiting on stickers? How can us your TH-camr fans pick up one of them awesome shirts? Do you have a swag store open yet? T-shirt, hats, stickers, coffee mugs! ! ! Also a PO Box might be cool we can send things that you would never want to open on live feed to you. And I just thought I'd throw this out #Tundra the new Raptor killer.
Stickers were sent out. I would think they would have arrived today, latest tomorrow. I do want to do the PO Box thing...I will look into that this week. As far as more product, were working on it. I am in the process of gathering "Tester" items before I make a big bulk order. I'm hoping to have everything squared away before the channel hits 1k subs. But as soon as we hit 1k, we will start going big on give aways and other merch.
Tundra4x4. Club ,
Awesome sounds good you well be there shortly ! ! !
I was going to order a 3” leveling kit for my 2017 tundra along with 285 70 18 do you think I’ll have the same issue?
Nope, without lift if tyre is not 315no probs, if its less like 295 or 285 its fine i own 4 tundras, i have rim 17 and 18 and they dont have lift and doesnt even go as near as touch, one tundra i have put 2 inch lift kit and 315 70 r17 and it touched, so i moved my control arm adjustment forward and it was fine, because cutting chassis devalues the car
Why didn’t you show the install?
Just got my lift and installed 29560r20, crazy rub on same spot. What size tires /wheels do you have?
Hello Fran, I'm running 33x12.5 on 18x9 wheels.
Well I have a rubbing Issue with my eclipse
Wtf I have 285 75 r18s with a 2 inch leveling kit and I only rub on the front fender liner
What was your wheel offset? Ty
Not as helpful as I hoped it would after reading the description
Anyone know a good place in NorCal to get this done?
So how much did it coast to have it done there?
+lukestoyz right around $250.
Mistitled. Jibber jabbing with no good info.
Where can I order a shirt?
This is a jock!!
Did they have to cut into the frame?
+Tony SanFilippo they cut a bolt bracket
@@Tundra4x4Club I understand it is a Body mount bracket that is welded to the frame, not the frame it's self, correct?
Is it $30 for a set or for 1 piece
+Ikaika Aki for the set.
When off roading your tires are at different angles compared to on the road so it is possible to get more rub
Won’t it rub when going down hill on a corner
+win King thanks for the comment. No rubbing whatsoever. Up, down, left, right, full crank.
Easy fix and no cutting all you need is to downsize your tires
He talked whole time that was useless
Wtf.
Ls
Lol 19 ppl dislike but don’t say why ?
+Anthony Short Thanks for watching Anthony...I’ve been wondering the same thing. 🤔
Tundra4x4. Club i have a 7” lift on my tundra with 37s and only rubs on full lock when in reverse and i was looking into this product guess I’m going to order it now ty for the review
I didn't dislike but I was expecting a video showing the process not basically a before and after picture.
is it just me or does he not mention the dimensions of his tires?
0/10. Might as well delete this
Bla bla bla bla
