I just got this exact truck, but with the darker interior. I personally love it. It looks great, drives great, it’s comfortable, has plenty of power, and more than enough conveniences. I also like the smaller monitor, It’s the perfect size for me. Love that the Tacomas come ready to tow a trailer, no added expense. Are they a little expensive, yes, but show me what mid size 4x4 truck isn’t overpriced right now. Toyota has always made great reliable vehicles, especially there 4x4’s, I don’t expect this new generation will be any different. I love my SR5.
I have bought a new 24 SR5 and LOVE IT. Performs well ride is excellent. Toyota has done their homework and produced an excellent truck. The 4cyl turbo is responsive and well exceeds the 6cyl capabilities. You won’t regret your purchase.
Great video! We just got a 2024 used sr5 with the upgrades and love it! Started looking for a used Tacoma about 5 years ago and here we are. Been driving our 2001 4Runner for 23 years so we had a lot to learn.Thought i had it all figured out..and we are in our 70s.and learned more from your video.thnk you we love it!
Good Sunday afternoon Brian! Thank you for sharing this with us! I still have reservations about the 2.4 engine unit I can be convinced that it will be durable and will last as long as the 3.5 V6 does. I could fit in the back seat of the previous generation with my longer legs. I’m not as sure now if I could ride in the back seat except for sideways maybe. I will say I am impressed with the acceleration afforded by the new 2.4 turbo engine. I’m guessing that you will do a review of an SR model when one comes in to the dealership. I was fine with the new basic touch screen. I do like seeing the standard lumbar support for the driver seat! You are one of very few who I would trust! I’m honored to continue supporting you and your channel! I’m here for the “long run” Friend! Mark in Iowa! Have a great week ahead! Mark.
Good afternoon! Nice to hear from you Mark. I can’t wait to review the SR. Thank you so much for your kind words and support. Your comment made my day! 🙏🏼blessing your way Mark thanks again my friend from out west
People were unhappy with 3.5 liter V6 when it was introduced in 2016. The six speed was never a good transmission. The new turbo and eight speed are ahead in driveability. You just have to understand engine with turbos have more parts, and generate more heat. Therefore issues will be more.
Just bought the SR5. Loving it. Iam a Ford girl and test drove a Ford maverick. No where close to the comfort of my new SR5. Interior and exterior design way above that of a ford.
I’m with you on the manual seat adjusters. I only like the auto adjusters when the vehicle has memory profile buttons for different drivers. I like the smaller screen as well. My wife’s car has a massive screen I don’t really like using. I wish it had the same gauge cluster as the TRDs though
As a 2023 Tacoma TRD Sport owner, I have to admit that I love the deeper bed on the new 4th Gen. I use my truck for truck things and a deeper bed would come in handy! And, the locking tailgate is a bonus.
very thorough , love your review vids for the toyota tacomas, i miss my 2020 TRD Sport crew cab in quicksand. your voice is calming with a combo of stern and direct. kinda sexy lol XD but importantly hopefully you come across some other cool color / option Tacomas
Excellent video, just 2 criticism, as you show interior space with you as an example it would help the viewers to know your height, and for those who complain about the half handle on the passenger side you forgot to mention they still get a full handle above. Other than that very good complete review.
I usually don't subscribe, but you are great at what you do, still have my 2022 Tacoma 2.7....in your honest opinion, Is my truck a keeper for life or should I get a 24 or 2025...thanks.
If you subscribed, thank you so much and welcome to the channel! Also, thank you for your support! I think the 2.7L is a life keeper, but the new Tacoma will spoil you with a great drive.
Toyota has a long history of turbocharged engines being as reliable as they can be. There is no way around the eventual wear of the turbo. You can guarantee oil burning sometimes after 100k miles or earlier if you have a lead foot. I don't believe these engines rev high so the pistons and top end should hold up alright.
Question. do the vents even hit you good at that angle? and does the phone slide while driving when its notched up against the charging pad, cuz i have a 13 min
The vents work good. I like the 3rd gen vents a little more but that’s just likely because that’s what feels familiar. The phone doesn’t seem to slide around either.
I feel jipped. I just got a 2024 Tacoma SR5 Longbed and it didn't come with rear sliding window, bed lights or soft landing tailgate. But it did come with 4x4.
In the same boat, except short bed. No sliding window, no tailgate dampening, no bed lighting, no trailer brake control. 2024 SR5 with dealer lift and TRD wheels with 33” tires. The tires, unfortunately, are contacting, and tearing out, the felt inner fender liners.
Electronic dash, lack of dials, electronic e brake, push button start, sos monitoring all suck. I wanted a Toyota for looks and reliability but you just talked me out of it due to these issues listed. I just want a vehicle, I dont need to drive a computer.
Cons: no increased mpg, less interior room (people and storage), no hand brake (electronic is not the same), dash display like a low end Corolla and price. Pros: Headlights and foglights lighter tailgate. Please bring back some earlier generation aspects. Tacoma is not just a truck, its a look, attitude and life style.
You make is sound like people were clamoring for these upgrades and therefore you justify the increase in prices. If people wanted to spend more and have those features they would get bigger trucks. Toyota missed the reason for Tacoma’s existence, cheapness.
Thank you for watching. In response to your comment; Almost. Many people have, over the years, complained about the frumpy shifting, the outdated interior, and the lack of low end power and technology. That’s a simple fact. Me justifying the price, not exactly. Just reminding potential buyers that even though the prices are high (and it hurts, a lot), you’re getting a lot of upgrades for the money spent.
Ah I have a 3rd gen. I love the simplicity of it but I deff welcomed the upgrade of my 4th gen with the latest tech. We wernt clamoring for it but we were deff looking for it.. drivability has improved, actualy feels alot faster than my 3rd gen and super smooth transmission and again the techs being up to date is just a bonus. To real Toyota owners of previous gen they hit it out the park with the 4th gen.. I’m not one of those bitter taco owners who thinks the v6 slug old tech previous gen is 10x better and should be the same price is just wild. I love both but the 4th gen is yes way better.. reliability of the new engine ?? We shall see but then again it’s Toyota so I’m ok with that.
Unfortunately, cheap isn't an option anymore when it comes to trucks. I'm a roll up windows kind of guy don't really care about fancy stuff in a vehicle but to each his own. I'm lucky I can turn my cellphone on lol.

It’s my first Tacoma, and it seems to well built, with nice designs.

Excellant review!
Thank you kindly!
Thank you! This is very informative and useful to me.

Always like watching Brian’s videos. This is a nice looking truck, but I wouldn’t trade my 2023 TRD Off Road for anything.
Thank you! Ya that’s a tough trade.

Agree 100%

Now imagine the new depth AND a 6ft bed
@@brianruperti beautiful thing!
I love this truck

Which track is best for driving on a snow

Hi Brian, not convinced on the Turbo engine (longevity) and the price on all vehicles are insane!
Hello! I totally understand

You can guarantee oil burning sometimes after 100k miles or earlier if you have a lead foot. I don't believe these engines rev high so the pistons and top end should hold up alright.
Already got my sr5 Tacoma very cheap and it’s very comfortable
Congrats

@@brianruperti ah okay cool, thanks, when’s the next update on your tacoma ^_^
i like it!
I had the choice of purchasing a 2023 or a new 2024...i picked a leftover 2023 with the V-6
Nice choice
I just bought a '24 SR5 and it has a Donut spare. Arrrg!
TRD Sport and Off-road have full size spares.
Is being manufactured in Mexico made a difference in quality?
No

5.5 bed?
Yes
Is it the same bed size as the 2023 Tacoma SR5?

Amen
No room, no gas mileage, geneic gauges and $$$$$ Makes no sense. Every other company was trying to mimic the gen 2&3.
What would you do differently for the new gen?
You make is sound like people were clamoring for these upgrades and therefore you justify the increase in prices. If people wanted to spend more and have those features they would get bigger trucks. Toyota missed the reason for Tacoma’s existence, cheapness.

Too overpriced, no power seats and hard cheap plastics! Really!! $46,000 ?
What price would be worth it?
Why does Toyota hate its consumers? No one asked for this generic, too expensive, step back in design truck.
I don’t think they hate their customers. I do agree they’re expensive though
