So here's a theory I had about the DexNav. Has anyone ever considered that the reason it seems to be easier to find shinies via DexNav is due to the encounter number? Like, the higher the encounter number is for that Pokémon on your DexNav, let's say every 100 or 150, the higher the shiny rate becomes?
+ViperRulerlm The Search Level has Nothing to do with Finding a Shiny Pokemon. I've Had Pokemon at 999 and it still get the same Number Average as any other Dexnav Search for a Shiny Pokemon.

This thing was such a good adition that many rom hacks and such, simply added it into them, even a fan mod of CRYSTAL has it.
I notice in the beginning, you have a non shiny Umbreon hat. But in other videos, you have a shiny Umbreon hat. Do you have both or is it an Inside out, Out side in hat? ( aka a swhicheroo) ( spelled wrong :P )

I need a straight answer: is the Dexnav a flat increased rate like Masuda Method or is it based on Search Level/chaining consecutively?! 😑
If anyone ever considers a “Dexnav shiny only run” I strongly Advise AGAINST it. Don’t waste your time like I did. 😑
Search level does help, and Dexnav is a fixed rate. It is much more difficult doing it for a playthrough. I’ve done one before and one of my highest Dexnav shiny Pokémon was 1,500 encounters. You could also do Horde hunting to switch up the method.
@@SmkGaming05 I was hoping to do a unique video for my channel “Dexnav shiny only run” and I’m definitely thinking of just trading in an oddish with Sweet scent and instead do a “random shiny run” like everyone else. 😅 I love all these recent videos of “shiny only Nuzlocks” and such.
I already got my shiny Mudkip at about 850 SR’s which I was super stoked for.
I’m gonna do horde hunts/chain fishing instead but only allowed 1 or the other per route. 😉

+SmkGaming05 the dexnav odds are 1/512 so its easy to find them without shiny Charm (it doesnt effect the dexnav the odds is still 1/512 Even your search level us high)

Kim Landro The odds to find them is 1/512 to find a shiny pokemon with dexnav and the chain doesnt matter and if you watch people get shiny you wont get like same encounters as them so try tough to search (odds:1/512 Dexnav)
