The_SCP _Foundation I mean, Hogwarts was probably safer back then. As well, you know, HARRY WASN’T ATTENDING YET 😂. Plus, compared to the abuse she had to endure with her aunt, Hogwarts would have been her safe haven. Just like so many other children, like Hardy James Potter & Severus Snape. Harry had to endure verbal and mental abuse (and probably physical as well) by his aunt and uncle, and Snape had to endure physical, verbal, and mental abuse by his father. Harry had it worse when it comes to being unsafe at Hogwarts then Snape (unless we concentrate on bullying, Janes Potter made Snape’s school years miserable. Not saying he was all the innocent, but Janes crosses so many lines), as he himself was ALWAYS in a form of danger. Yet, to him, Hogwarts will always be his first home. The first place he felt wanted, or rather, loved.
What if a no-maj that has no idea about magic and also from a only no-maj family got accepted and the opposite type of person (pure blood family, prob from slitheren fam, not a squib,) was not accepted
jk rowling would have to sell it to them or sum and she would not since she can find someone to make it herself and probably make it better than they could

To stop a prophecy that on the year of 2020 an cosmic eclipse and a planetary alignment would shield the earth from the heavens and weaken the seals on hell and that the king of hell Satan would for a full year be unrestrained from having demonic/demon armies and his general the fallen dark angel lucifer engulf the earth in hell itself...……….the heavens are sworn to interfere with the earth as little as possible outside of what is commanded……...Nor are they to alter prophecy's... going against proclemations, Atheria a warrior arc angel in secret attemted to alter the dark 2020 prophecy, by bareing a half human son, forging a destony for him to lead 7 warriors(a winged gorgon, a minataur, a centaur,a warewolf, a dryad elf, a half dragon human hybrid) to protect, defeat or suppress the forces of hell...he has 3 months untill the prophecy comes to pace to endow him with magic they fuse the resurrection stone with the goblet of fire aloowing him to gain the souls/powers of 3 past wizards( Dumbledore, merlin and Goodrich gryphondor) he is gifted with the sword of gryphondor and Excalibur fusing the 2 blades and gets tpo forge a wizards staff from materials that chose him, like the wand chosing its wizard...………………………………………….IDK it was a long assed daydream
Salazar Slytherin: *Is related to Illvermony founder, Voldemort, and a gaunt heiress.* Gaunt Heiress: *Is related to the 2nd Peverell brother.* Harry Potter: *Is related to the 3rd Peverell brother.* Me: “Everyone’s related.”
I'm just surprised that given Voldemort's obsession with Slytherin, he didn't go to America to get his Ancestor's wand. I'm sure that he's at least heard of Illvermorny and about the snake wood tree there.
I don't know. Ilvermorny was co-established with a Muggle and is generally more accepting of Muggle-borns. I'm not sure a pureblood supremacist like Voldemort would want to associate himself with a school that was established by and is still full of blood traitors.
If he did know and tried to, I’m pretty sure the wand wouldn’t budge if attempted to summon it. I would say, He’s not a true pure blood. The last remaining pure blood from of the Gaunt family was the aunt who deactivated the wand before she died. Even Isolt’s couldn’t activate it and decided to bury the wand.
You... do realize that the reason the tree grew was BECAUSE it had been deactivated? I'm pretty sure this is known amongst wizards and witches. So yeah He most likely couldn't have been able to turn the wand back on.
@@topazlynx2228 yes, but remember, voldemort considered himself special. As better than others. I wouldn't be suprised if he actually gave it a try. Afterall, he is proud of being Slytherin's descendent.
Dang, she only got his present that she had promised him years in advance the literal night before his birthday? That's some next level procrastination.
Not true she was examining their parents wands but was having trouble finding something to use as a core, also she probably mentioned the idea to James over the years after he came up with the layout of their house
Imagine if Martha's children generation's later are born with Magical abilities and also ability to speak parseltongue. It would be like a muggle-born heir of Slytherin, literally the opposite of what Salazar Slytherin wanted. Kind of wickedly ironic.
That would actually be a great story line imo, tho even if I'll like it, I'm not sure I could ever look at Rowling's works without a tinge of bitterness
@@laikeree_4213 They could have made a Plot where Harry is later revealed be the Direct Descendent of Isolt through Lily like it would be Slytherin Heir VS Slytherin Heir.
@@Noir-u1m Oooo like if Lily was a decendant of the squib daughter (sorry forgot her name) 👀 But I feel like he might already be distantly related since James was a pureblood and purebloods were basically all distantly related
I wouldn't mind a bunch of movies about this as well. J.K. Rowling has so much she can do after Fantastic Beasts. The Marauders, The Founders and Ilvermorny.... and even the terrible Cursed Child which I hope gets remade.
I have a personal feeling about Cursed Child. That the events technically took place, but that the telling has been warped. As if we are actually watching a stage play performed by wizards, trying their best to make a biopic production, and improvising, so that certain characters don't sound the same way and odd events happen.
Because she got her letter, read it and her guardian replied saying she wasn't going to attend. You cant be forced to go... Harry wasn't responding therefore he got spammed. People try so hard to find flaws and loopholes when most of them are easily explained if we just engage our brain.
Huh, I never thought of that 🤔 But honestly no-maj James is already a cool person cuz he literally helped build a magical school despite being non magical
@@alexpalaciossantos4940 Still, it raises some questions. How involved can a Muggle be in the Wizarding World? What things are truly blind to them, and what is just hidden by charms and enchantments? Can a Muggle brew Potions? Can they fly a Broomstick? Can they even achieve small bits of magic? (With outside help, of course.) The story of James offers the question of what Muggles can do in a magical world. And it's frustrating that we don't have all the answers.
@@kingcamelot1395 as far as I know, Muggles can't brew potions, can ride broomsticks and can't use magic, but it can affect them. According to Newt Scamander, Wizards have different biology to muggles, which is why muggles can birth Wizards/witches most likely, and a squib is a mix between both types of human. If a muggle has different biology, then they can ,at most, tap into a little bit of magic.
Does anyone else think that Issolt's childhood and Harry's childhood were kinda similar. Both of their parents were killed and they were taken by their (quite honestly abusive) aunts. For different reasons their aunts tried to change the way the kids parents taught them (Petunia wanted to get rid of magic and Gormlith, idk if it's spelt correct, wanted to change what kind of magic she was being taught). When they were given their Hogwarts acceptance letters both aunts didn't let them go. After that it's all different but yeah, similar in the beginning.
Both of could speak parseltoung both sets of parents were killed by decendents of Slytherin both were the only ones to survive both fought those decendents of Slytherin and both won in the end and got their dream job. Yeah I'm definitely feeling some deja vu 😆😊
I've watched the presentation of the story of how Ilvermorny was created, and it's white man's burden pure and simple. It's established that there's magical being all over the Earth, including in the "new world" so why wouldn't the native tribes that had shamans and medicine men, and witch doctors have their own system to train those among their tribes who have such powers? The answer is the Harry Potter fans want a great white savior to establish a Eurocentric school because God knows the original inhabitants of North, South and Central America never could have done it.
I hope that someday we'll be able to see Ilvermorny represented in a game or book. Something like Hogwarts legacy but ilvermorny. I want to see the HP universe beyond it's Hogwarts and English setting, it seems so interesting. Despite all the controversy behind J.K. Rowling rn, it is undoubtedly true that she has created one of the most beloved, creative, and fascinating magical worlds to date.
Imagine how pissed a skilled and heavily practiced wandmaker would be to know that a witch without the slightest idea of wand lore with the help of a muggle created a not only working wand, but an incredibly powerful wand on their first try
It’s fascinating how the school was started by the union of magical and non magical folk. And then much later MCUSA (I don’t know if it’s shown as that or something else) would outlaw the union of magical and no mags when it most likely started out with the ideal that that could happen. Which means either something happened, or someone came in and trampled on that ideal.
I think it's because after a few decades Ilvermorny had been established, a wizard called Robert or something married/wanted to marry a Muggle and it blew up the wizards' cover. It was the first time the wizards were almost discovered after the Statute of Secrecy became a thing and even led to major prosecution of wizardkind in America eventually resulting in the deaths of four witches with two of them being children, so the MACUSA at the time took drastic measures to prevent it from ever happening again - a ban on a Muggle-magical union.
Well you also have to realize everyone in the world did the same thing, probably because they started to fear the normal people, something to think about is the “magical world” is just the real world, the wizard governments just keep it away from the non magical people and so it’s separated from the magical world and the non magical world, or really, the real world and the cover up world
Guys, I wish Rowling made one story for all the other schools, that would be awesome!! (Thanks for the likes ya'll- probably my most liked comment! And yes. I still stand by it)

Thunderbirds are also part of Native folklore, cant remember the tribes name but I know Blue Jacket and Little Turtle used them as a symbol on banners during wars against Colonials.
Snape wasn't, either. And probably a good number of Voldemort's followers that came from Slytherin would never have joined him if they'd been treated right. What did they expect, telling 11 year old CHILDREN they're evil from the moment they sort into Slytherin, ridiculing and humiliating them and ostracizing the whole house with even the teachers in on it? Tell someone long enough they're good for nothing and evil and they'll internalize it. Prejudice, people...not only Slytherin and Voldemort suffered from it. And if you treat people badly, eventually they'll lash out. Also, if I'd been a Slytherin being humiliated and all that and Voldemort (who, in the beginning was a real charmer) would have offered to help me become great, give me the abilities to protect myself from ever being hurt like that again, power to be recognized...I doubt I would have believed my tormentors claiming the guy was bad news. And by the time I'd realize Voldemort's evil, it would be too late. I don't think Voldemort reacted well to traitors (speaking of those that had been in his ranks but defected) or people who clearly showed an interest and suddenly decide "no, actually, not for me, sorry" Once you were on Voldy's radar, you were pretty much f*cked.
I think the ilvermorny story would make a solid tv series, it’s dark, it has humour and action, I feel like I wanna see more of the wizarding world, I’m from London and we have so much story and history on the wizarding world thanks to potter but I’d be happy if another writer collaborated with jk and we got series set in Ilvermorny or beauxbatons, especially Ilvermorny, because it’s story has a solid beginning middle and end that could then be embellished with new ideas, we know wizardry is global let’s see it from another perspective, fantastic beasts is alright but like it’s newts story but involves Grindelwald we know newt isn’t the one who beats Grindelwald, the whole basis of his story is just weird, why not have a new story or something like the ilvermorny story portrayed on screen? Not everything about the wizarding world needs to link back to the potter series it’s so much bigger now
I'm working on my own story of a different Wizarding School. It started based on Harry Potter but I wanted go a lot farther with it and now I'm changing things up to make it in to an original work instead of a fan work of JKR's work. And while turning it into its own thing it started to grow and suddenly I was writting the laws and rules for a government for a completely different Wizarding society. So far it's just world building I guess, I'm kind of establishing how their society works while coming up with traditions and culture. I haven't yet gotten to the history and how evrything came to be. I'm saving that for the very last I suppose. My Wizarding world is set in Germany and is (maybe) planned to expand to France, Italy, Russia, Turkey etc. But the main focus is still Germany. Simply because there are so many Dark academia places here and it has been making me want to write something witchy for ages. Though I'm not sure how I will coleberate the world wars into the Wizarding history when I do finally sit down to write it. Once I've completed the world building for it I'd actually like to write a story in the setting I created but as It's now I haven't actually come up with one. This isn't my first time world building although I never had to search up so much history and so many laws and consider so many tiny details before but I'm still having a lot of fun with this project and I now for sure that I will do something with it in the future. Be it a book (series?) or a graphic novel / comic, animated youtube series, I will make something out of this.

@@JJSmith-le5mu Oh calm down, you big baby. The cruel treatment of native people is a sick fact that we should all be made aware of, but I doubt Rowling knew anything resembling that travesty when she wrote this, nor had its base concept in mind as inspiration. Not every story written by a white person has a conscious or subconscious "white man superior" message etched into its soul. I did not at all see anything in the story about white people acting as a superior or condescending comparison toward something in stringent regards to the native peoples; just four European settlers who traveled to America for their own reasons, but who somehow came together based on circumstance and who all ultimately developed a familial bond strong enough to build up a dream and face off against a monstrous force of evil, while at the same time encountering preternatural beings who were based off folkloric creatures native to America. And last I checked, those who attend Ilvermorny all come solely of their own volition instead of being forced into it by biased local law or necessity. Where's your suspension of disbelief!

Celeste • eh...I don’t know if she was on the same level as voldy. She certainly wasn’t immortal like voldy had made himself, at least insofar as it took years of preparation and hard work of several witches and wizards young and old for just a chance of things going right. I think Gormlaith would be a closer analog to lucious Malloy. A bitter fairly powerful but not overly exceptional pure blood. Or maybe even better like Sirius Black’s Mom.
Well it's not as if Voldemort was the first to have those ideas either. A lot of wizards had the same elitist attitudes and have probably attempted to make a grab for power.
@@Mia_M Right like Grindelwald for example....However, I don't think Gormlaith is in the same league...Voldy, Grindy and Dumbly were exceptionally powerful and talented wizards.
Honestly, there could be an entire spin-off dedicated to this school, Ilvermorny. Each book could be about a different group of students, like an anthology series. It doesn't even have to be connected to Hogwarts in any way.

It sorta irks me how none of it was ever referenced in the original books. George R R Martin always has little references of past events in his ASOIAF series, even if he hadn’t fully developed them yet.

Awww I feel so bad for Martha being a squib. It must really suck to see all your siblings get to learn amazing magic but you're left out. Only thing that makes it better is her family is awesome and accepting and dad also doesn't have magic so she has someone to connect to. Still sucks though, I can imagine how disappointing that would be, especially at that young age.
Sad I'm pretty sure she might get at least talked to behind her back because (maybe) some students see her as the useless family member, it's good to know that James live with her because it would be way difficult to live in a place where everyone around you are magic users
I love this story. However, it really makes me question the American laws regarding Nomages in the Fantastic Beasts series. How could they implement laws that completely bar them from all forms of relations with Nomages when Isolt's husband was a Nomage?
I've just thought of something... Could Terry Boot, a Ravenclaw in Harry's year be a descendant of Webster Boot????? please let me think that I'm not crazy/ the only one in thinking this

I wouldn't say 'original'... two dead parents, killed by an evil jerk, hunted by said jerk, speaks to snakes, I mean, it's trans Harry (I would still totally love and watch these movies tho xD)
I mean, I can walk into Walmart and pick up one with a few hundred rounds for at most $100! Oh wait, nerf guns. And guess what? In America, children aren’t supposed to have guns. People want to ban guns entirely, instead, it should be as follows: you must own a gun safe, and everyone in the household must be mentally stable unless their doctor has given the OK that the unstable person is safe enough to carry a firearm(like ADHD or autism possibly)
Azy Draws there’s already background checks. So I just listed what I’d add. So in total 1. Gun safe 2. No criminals/only reformed criminals 3. Mental stability
Flyingturret208: The Cannon That’s what people who talk about gun control want. We don’t want no guns, we just want it to be as regulated as cars, which it currently isn’t.
The fact Ilvermony especially after Rappaport's Law was repealed actually treats Non-Majborn students, and Half-Blood students with the same respect as Pure-Blood students along with all 4 houses actually getting along with each other is awesome. I mean the Ilvermony counterpart to Slytherin the Lake Serpent House is totally the anthesis to their Hogwarts counterpart aka they treat non pure-blood students with respect and actually get along with the other houses including their friendly rivals the Wumpus Cat House.

the real question is if America has a magic school why isn't it in the tournament, is there a vote as to which 3 schools all over the world get to do it every 4 years or something
Afaik, the triwizard tournament has been held by Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang for centuries, breaking the tradition during the 1700's and reprising when the HP novels take place, so Ilvermorny and other schools were probably not founded before it was conceived, they were founded when it was inactive, or the triwizard tournament was restricted to Europe, making those 3 the only wizarding schools in the area.

I'm just surprised that given Voldemort's obsession with Slytherin, he didn't go to America to get his Ancestor's wand. I'm sure that he's at least heard of Illvermorny and about the snake wood tree there.
Assuming he knew it was rendered inactive he probably didn't think it was worth the effort

I have a personal feeling about Cursed Child. That the events technically took place, but that the telling has been warped. As if we are actually watching a stage play performed by wizards, trying their best to make a biopic production, and improvising, so that certain characters don't sound the same way and odd events happen.

@@topazlynx2228 yes, the nomajs that arent supposed to know magic exists are definitely making wands. especially in colonial america
(With outside help, of course.)
The story of James offers the question of what Muggles can do in a magical world.
Imagine how pissed a skilled and heavily practiced wandmaker would be to know that a witch without the slightest idea of wand lore with the help of a muggle created a not only working wand, but an incredibly powerful wand on their first try
Now imagine her skills if she has ollivanders knowledge!
I think ollivander would be impressed but gregorvuch jealous cuz he had the elder wand and couldn't duplicate it
It’s fascinating how the school was started by the union of magical and non magical folk.

This goes to show that not all slytherins are bad.

Not everything about the wizarding world needs to link back to the potter series it’s so much bigger now
Wow amazing

Yeah I wish they could make one about Beauxbatons

But she has a nose??????
No... Just a medieval Umbridge
Honestly, there could be an entire spin-off dedicated to this school, Ilvermorny. Each book could be about a different group of students, like an anthology series. It doesn't even have to be connected to Hogwarts in any way.
Sadly more spin-off stories with different protagonists only appearing in british setting
"This tree seemed testament to the fact that Slytherin’s wand, like his scattered descendants, encompassed both noble and ignoble. The very best of him seemed to have migrated to America." I don't know why but these lines really speak to me.

Black, skinny, winged horse - Thestral
American naming:

Applause to J.K.R for this , reading between the line at the end and the deeper meaning “IMO” , is the American dream she made her own, the magical school she never had so she made her own.
It very much like a lot of immigrant success story or refugee success story . Coming to America and persevering through the hard times but to make your dream come true.

I cried when I read how William secretly went on staying there and how much he must miss Isolt that he doesnt let anyone else polish her statue and secretly lays Mayflowers at her grave. This hidden concern is so touching.
How is it dumbledore never invited this school to hogwarts for the wizard cup
Anselm Carasco cause he only invited European schools
They would have to travel there. It would be dangerous to use magic to send the whole school as it could badly injure students.
The tri wizard tournament is a tradition held between the 3 largest wizarding schools of Europe since the 13th century, that's why not.
Dumbledore doesn't get to invite the people personally the ministry invites them and it's been tradition
It's called TRIwizard cup...

Probably why Filch turned out as grumpy as he did
@DODmof filch was grumpy because he was jealous of the students. If ur gonna be jealous about magical students, don't work in a magical school...

the "weird tree" was planted much later at hogwarts because of Remus
@Micheal Ellis yeah, because ungrateful kids like you are so entitled.
I love this story. However, it really makes me question the American laws regarding Nomages in the Fantastic Beasts series. How could they implement laws that completely bar them from all forms of relations with Nomages when Isolt's husband was a Nomage?

Wow, American wand control is better than American gun control.
Azy Draws
I’m wheezing! That’s so accurate it hurts!
Ikt
I mean, I can walk into Walmart and pick up one with a few hundred rounds for at most $100!
Oh wait, nerf guns.
And guess what? In America, children aren’t supposed to have guns. People want to ban guns entirely, instead, it should be as follows: you must own a gun safe, and everyone in the household must be mentally stable unless their doctor has given the OK that the unstable person is safe enough to carry a firearm(like ADHD or autism possibly)
Azy Draws there’s already background checks. So I just listed what I’d add. So in total
1. Gun safe
2. No criminals/only reformed criminals
3. Mental stability
Flyingturret208: The Cannon
That’s what people who talk about gun control want.
This is such an amazing story, wish it could get a film adaptation.
Because a large number of HP fans posting here are missing the point of what I've written, I'm going to spell it right out for them. "Because he moved his family of Pukwudgies into the house the next day and helped them repair the damage that Gormlaith had caused. Please do a video about Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, since they were in the triwizard tournament
there is not much back info about those schools... you can read about ilvermorny on pottermore
I think he made a video for beauxbatons if im not mistaken.
the real question is if America has a magic school why isn't it in the tournament, is there a vote as to which 3 schools all over the world get to do it every 4 years or something
Afaik, the triwizard tournament has been held by Hogwarts, Beauxbatons and Durmstrang for centuries, breaking the tradition during the 1700's and reprising when the HP novels take place, so Ilvermorny and other schools were probably not founded before it was conceived, they were founded when it was inactive, or the triwizard tournament was restricted to Europe, making those 3 the only wizarding schools in the area.
the durmstrang were founded by stalin himself as a communist ploy to beat the capitalistic hogwarts it is our favourite magic school after all
Edit: i made a mistake our favourite school
Bro Gaunt is literally Voldy, she tried to kill children but their father shielded them.

This is a brilliant way to create another wizarding school that is heavily based off the popular one that we already know so well without the stigma. Although I can't help but feel like the sorting and the houses themselves are extremely weak compared to the connection people have with their houses in Hogwarts. I got sorted into the Thunderbird house, but it doesn't suit my personality anywhere near as much as Hufflepuff does
