I think the Longbottoms, or at least Alice remembered some trace of Neville, because she made the connection enough to give him candy wrappers every time he visited them. And Harry may have been the chosen one, but Neville played a huge role in the defeat of Voldemoet. He had the courage to go back to Hogwarts and keep Dumbledore’s Army going. He trained younger wizards with the spells that Harry had taught him. He gave them the tools to better fight and defend themselves. He became a true leader and gave the group direction and hope. Good friends who would fight at each other’s sides. He defied the death eaters at the school and was tortured for it. He had the courage to defy Voldemort to his face, and he risked being killed by Nagini by chopping off her head. And he did it without having seen Harry since the end of the Half Blood Prince. I think Neville grew and gained skill and courage more than any other character in the series.
If Harry and Neville are the chosen one in the Prophecy. Voldemort marked Harry as his equal, but Neville and Harry had a power he did not know of, since Dumbledore placed the focus on Harry, not Neville. And either (Harry or Neville) must die at the hand of the other (Voldemort) for neither can live while the other survives... Harry died, Neville survived to say fack you to voldemorty. Harry survives thanks to morty killing his own souls, placing more focus on him, giving Neville time to be able to kill Voldemort with the final blow

I haven't watched Deathly Hallows Part 1 or 2 in a while but I remember Neville standing up to the Death Eaters on the Hogwarts Express. He just stood up to them and said, "Hey, losers! He isn't here." "He" obviously referring to Harry
The irony is that if Voldemort had been more patient, he could have easily defeated the Ministry from the inside. With his skills at manipulation, he could have easily pulled an Emperor Palpatine, gained the Minister of Magic post and siezed power from the inside. And to put the cherry on top, there would have been no way for Dumbledore to act against him without looking like attacking a democratically elected leader.
Voldemort was never interested in being the Minister for Magic, look at the books (I can't remember exactly where it was mentioned), but yeah, he was never interested in politics. that's why he didn't want to be MfM (even though he can do it easily) because he preferred to operate behind the scenes.

It wasn't just that Lily stood in front of Harry to protect him and therefore sacrificed herself that defeated Voldermort it was the fact that she did this after Voldermort had given her the chance to step aside and not kill her and the only reason he did that was because Snape asked him to spare Lily.
Here is what I don't get about Barty Crouch: everyone is mad at how coldly he treated his son, but what would they have thought if he let him off the hook? Either you believe in laws or you believe that the law is an extension of personal power.

I never understood why James and Lily didn't make Dumbledor the secret keeper. There was no way he would turn on him and he was the only person stronger than voldemort so the location couldn't have been tortured out of him. He just seems like the obvious choice
it is because james and lily put all of their trust in their friends thinking they would keep them safe; first it was supposed to be sirius but he thought that would be too obvious so they chose peter and therefore, their pending doom
Damn good vid. I would have mentioned though that it was Sirius who suggested Pettigrew as Secret Keeper instead of himself. He did it because Peter was the far less obvious choice and therefore wouldn’t be targeted as much. James and Lily didn’t switch to Pettigrew on their own, they had to be convinced by Sirius and that’s a reason why Sirius felt so guilty about their murder because it was partly his fault.
My question is why would it matter that it was obvious. You can't torture a Secret Keeper into revealing it and if Sirius dies, then there would be no way for the secret to be revealed. There was no point in switching to Pettigrew. Rowling just needed a way to betray the Potters.
Yikes! There is a difference between MORAL GUILT (which always includes a CHOICE), and being an unknowing part of a chain of events. The store clerk who sells you a butcher knife which you use to kill a child is NOT morally (or legally) guilty. Sirius, James, Lily, and Dumbledore all show TERRIBLE JUDGEMENT IN TRUSTING SUCH A WEAK PERSON AS PETER. Sirius and James were vicious bullies in school and Peter was a Ramora to their sharks. If JKR wants a literary challenge, she could write a book showing how James and Sirius developed consciences about how cruel and destructive their "pranks" were. They saw themselves as noble knights, but the torment they gave Sirius shaped him into the abusive teacher he became in canon.
In his own universes, he is very powerful. In universes with people that dont have much power themselves, he is very powerful. But put him in the MCU, Middle earth, or the star wars univerce, he is dead quick.

Haven’t read The Lord of the Rings books so I don’t know too much about Sauron’s true power but from what I’ve seen in the movies, Voldemort might have a hard time with how powerful the ring can have over someone. It’d be a pretty close battle honestly.

It is also true that most characters (W/ rules from HP universe) could not survive Avada Kedavra, and also can be affected by transfiguraiton, so battles against beings like Palatine or Vader could go in his favor, if he could blitz them with thease curses (Assuming they did not block or attack first). However, against people like full gauntlet Thanos or Sauron, he would lose. Why? Well, as you brought up Sauron, he is a lower demigod and is immortal, so the killing curse would have not effect on him, and he is a known shapeshifter, meaning he could escape transfiguraiton. You are right about it being a good fight between movie Sauron against Voldy, as Movie Sauron does not boast the same feats.

This was posted 2 years ago and I’m just now watching it in 2023 about to be 2024. I grew up watching Hairy Potter, and reading the books, and it surprised me how much I truly missed out on. I was shocked after learning so much more about the wizarding world by watching this guys videos and listening to his videos as I’m working. There was so much more for me to learn about hairy potter that I didn’t even know happened/existed. I appreciate this TH-cam channel so much for the way that it is edited and given so much information end intelligence about the series. It also gives me much more respect for the woman who wrote these books because it shows how much imagination that she has and how it can go so far deep within her imagination making it seem like a free open world video game, except through books and movies. I knew was obsessed with hairy potter for a reason. Because I’ve had such amazing imagination as I grew up, still having such imagination, thinking of writing my own books and hosting movies of my own books. All inspired by these series.
We need a trilogy of films surrounding this war, the third film would have a dark ending with James and Lilly being murdered but like Revenge of the sith a baby is hidden and is the glimpse of hope
@@WhatSayCrochet At the time, Snape was Voldemorts. And Dumbledore did not trust Snape. Its only after lily was killed that Snape felt remourse and went to Dumbledore. By killing Snape, Voldemort would of lost one of his best death eaters and Dumbledore would of lost nothing.

I'm a sucker for books like The Silmarillion that basically archive the history of a fictional world or event in a story; it adds so much world building and enjoyment. I would love a book on the history of the First Wizarding War, almost read as a series of reports (a la, World War Z).

As far I can tell, Voldemort didn’t fight the war conventionally like you’d see in Game of Thrones. He didn’t have a set capital, engage his army in pitched battles or have his followers capture strategic locations. Strategically, it seems like Voldemort was fighting a guerilla war in the style of the Viet Cong and ISIS.
I think Voldemort is like Hitler, yk notice how strong Voldemort was in the first wizarding war well let’s just think of him and his group like Germany because when Germany agreed to fight alongside Austria-Hungary against Siberia, Russian empire, France and Great Britain, Germany were so strong. And then after the wizarding war Voldemort barely existed like how Germany suffered a terrible defeat including rise in poverty and money inflation. And then when Voldemort came back in goblet of fire that’s when Hitler rose to power, and how Germany were so effective and how he killed people was like Germany invading countries including France. But when you see at the end of Order of the Phoenix and the Malfoy manner in dhp1 you see that the Malfoys including bellatrix lost Harry again, and how Nazi Germany failed to invade Soviet Union. And how it got worse when America joined the war and Canadian, British and American forces landed at Normandy, and then when u see when Neville killed Nagini it was the final straw for Hitler when the Soviets countered and took Berlin. So the first wizarding war is ww1 and second wizarding war is ww2. Not to mention that he conned the ministry and locking up the muggle born wizards and witches. Locking up werewolf’s, muggles, and people associated to Potter. And you see that Umbridge and Fudge were corrupted idiots, who obviously were against Harry.
I mean Vietcong were homeless people who were funded by north Vietnam, China and Soviet Union. They were too tough for AMERICA. Sure Voldemort was strong but Harry got the upper hand and defeated Voldemort then and there. Whereas America suffered a embarrassing defeat. The rapid way in which V took down his targets are reminiscent of the "secret war" being fought in Iraq during the early 2000s

Always loved snapes character arc as he’s always been that dark moody professor you love to hate but really was the double agent who was pivotal in the war to ensure Harry’s safety and victory but the biggest dynamic being snapes relationship with harry for which Alan Rickman portrayed perfectly in that he had both love and hate for Harry as harry resembled everything he loved and hated in that harry looked exactly like his father yet had his mothers eyes so while snape hated seeing James in Harry, his love for Lily brought about endless and absolute devotion to ensuring Harry’s safety and it all culminated amazingly with his death where he finally shows his emotions and hand for us to find out how it was actually Snape that was the real hero all along that risked his life the most for the most selfless reasons

Lily didn't "jump in front of the killing curse" Voldemort gave lilly several chances to move so he could kill harry and she refused because her love for her son was more powerful and more meaningful than her own life, causing the protective curse over harry to exist.
I think it's interresting how the global wizarding war happened at the same time as ww1 and ww2, and also how Voldemort started the knights of walpurgis at about the same time ww2 started, almost like His gang started out of a horrible thing that happened in the muggle world

I never understood why James and Lily didn't make Dumbledor the secret keeper. There was no way he would turn on him and he was the only person stronger than voldemort so the location couldn't have been tortured out of him. He just seems like the obvious choice

Damn good vid. I would have mentioned though that it was Sirius who suggested Pettigrew as Secret Keeper instead of himself. He did it because Peter was the far less obvious choice and therefore wouldn’t be targeted as much. James and Lily didn’t switch to Pettigrew on their own, they had to be convinced by Sirius and that’s a reason why Sirius felt so guilty about their murder because it was partly his fault.

My question is why would it matter that it was obvious. You can't torture a Secret Keeper into revealing it and if Sirius dies, then there would be no way for the secret to be revealed. There was no point in switching to Pettigrew. Rowling just needed a way to betray the Potters.

In his own universes, he is very powerful. In universes with people that dont have much power themselves, he is very powerful. But put him in the MCU, Middle earth, or the star wars univerce, he is dead quick.

And he can easily accio anything. I think a lot of people really underestimate how powerful he can be. Even Palpatine and Thanos cannot apparate like that but Palpatine can easily force choke Voldemort. Haven’t read The Lord of the Rings books so I don’t know too much about Sauron’s true power but from what I’ve seen in the movies, Voldemort might have a hard time with how powerful the ring can have over someone. It’d be a pretty close battle honestly.

However, against people like full gauntlet Thanos or Sauron, he would lose. Why? Well, as you brought up Sauron, he is a lower demigod and is immortal, so the killing curse would have not effect on him, and he is a known shapeshifter, meaning he could escape transfiguraiton. You are right about it being a good fight between movie Sauron against Voldy, as Movie Sauron does not boast the same feats.

This was posted 2 years ago and I’m just now watching it in 2023 about to be 2024. I grew up watching Hairy Potter, and reading the books, and it surprised me how much I truly missed out on. I was shocked after learning so much more about the wizarding world by watching this guys videos and listening to his videos as I’m working. There was so much more for me to learn about hairy potter that I didn’t even know happened/existed. I appreciate this TH-cam channel so much for the way that it is edited and given so much information end intelligence about the series. It also gives me much more respect for the woman who wrote these books because it shows how much imagination that she has and how it can go so far deep within her imagination making it seem like a free open world video game, except through books and movies. I knew was obsessed with hairy potter for a reason. Because I’ve had such amazing imagination as I grew up, still having such imagination, thinking of writing my own books and hosting movies of my own books. All inspired by these series.
We need a trilogy of films surrounding this war, the third film would have a dark ending with James and Lilly being murdered but like Revenge of the sith a baby is hidden and is the glimpse of hope

As far I can tell, Voldemort didn’t fight the war conventionally like you’d see in Game of Thrones. He didn’t have a set capital, engage his army in pitched battles or have his followers capture strategic locations. Strategically, it seems like Voldemort was fighting a guerilla war in the style of the Viet Cong and ISIS.

And then after the wizarding war Voldemort barely existed like how Germany suffered a terrible defeat including rise in poverty and money inflation. And then when Voldemort came back in goblet of fire that’s when Hitler rose to power, and how Germany were so effective and how he killed people was like Germany invading countries including France. But when you see at the end of Order of the Phoenix and the Malfoy manner in dhp1 you see that the Malfoys including bellatrix lost Harry again, and how Nazi Germany failed to invade Soviet Union. And how it got worse when America joined the war and Canadian, British and American forces landed at Normandy, and then when u see when Neville killed Nagini it was the final straw for Hitler when the Soviets countered and took Berlin. So the first wizarding war is ww1 and second wizarding war is ww2. Not to mention that he conned the ministry and locking up the muggle born wizards and witches. Locking up werewolf’s, muggles, and people associated to Potter. And you see that Umbridge and Fudge were corrupted idiots, who obviously were against Harry.
I mean Vietcong were homeless people who were funded by north Vietnam, China and Soviet Union. They were too tough for AMERICA. Sure Voldemort was strong but Harry got the upper hand and defeated Voldemort then and there. Whereas America suffered a embarrassing defeat. The war in Vietnam was deeply unpopular, and it goes down as on if the most embarrassing defeats since battle of midway and Soviet afghan war
Perhaps he fought like JSOC. The high-op tempo, units hitting targets left and right up to 10-20 times every night. The early GWOT days really remind you of how he operated. The rapid way in which V took down his targets are reminiscent of the "secret war" being fought in Iraq during the early 2000s

Always loved snapes character arc as he’s always been that dark moody professor you love to hate but really was the double agent who was pivotal in the war to ensure Harry’s safety and victory but the biggest dynamic being snapes relationship with harry for which Alan Rickman portrayed perfectly in that he had both love and hate for Harry as harry resembled everything he loved and hated in that harry looked exactly like his father yet had his mothers eyes so while snape hated seeing James in Harry, his love for Lily brought about endless and absolute devotion to ensuring Harry’s safety and it all culminated amazingly with his death where he finally shows his emotions and hand for us to find out how it was actually Snape that was the real hero all along that risked his life the most for the most selfless reasons

I know you don't really do what ifs but, I think that they are a really fun idea. So can you do :
1.What if everyone in the order knew that Peter was the keeper?
2. What if voldemort went after neville instead of harry?
Answer one : the order would agree with sirius’ reasoning for making him the keeper
Answer two: : Neville longbottom and the philosophers stone, Neville longbottom and the chamber of secrets, Neville longbottom and the prisoner of azkaban, Neville longbottom and the goblet of fire, Neville longbottom and the order of the Phoenix, Neville longbottom and half blood prince, Neville longbottom and the deathly hallows
Then Harry would live with Dadfoot and Moomy and the Dursleys'
1.) They would agree with sirius in making peter the keeper, so the event where james and lilly potter died would happen.
