I think the book once mentioned that no wizards are truly 100% pureblood, otherwise they'd be extinct because their options for marriage and/or breeding would've been SEVERELY limited. By this logic, you could consider that blood purity is more about politics and beliefs rather than blood lineage. As in, if you could prove that your father and closest patrilineal male ancestors (such as paternal grandfather and great-grandfather) not only identify themselves as pureblood but also got recognized by other wizards who also identify themselves (and each other) as pureblood, then and only then you could identify yourself and be recognized as pureblood.
Lucius is often underestimated he was a powerful wizard especially in the first wizarding war he certainly fought and won many battles against aurors he was a beast in the first wizarding war and not for nothing Voldi's deputy he just seemed to be rusty over the years between the wars and just did the mistake of not taking harry and his friends seriously but he fended off a curse from bellatrix when she was about to attack harry something that no other dead eater except snape dares to do and he fought against remus lupin who is also very powerful and it has not been confirmed or proven that Malfoy lost the fight it's more possible that Dumbledore ended the fight completely and Lucius wasn't a coward either like many people say he and Narcissa were both unarmed and still ran through the battle just to look for Draco Lucius was just afraid of voldi and the loss of his family
I don't think Lucius was rusty. More like he enjoyed the new life and all the favors he got from it. Also I think becoming a father changed him. Before it was just him and his wife Narcissa. I also don't think Lucius was a coward. I mean everyone feared Voldemort except Harry and Dumbledore. Honestly I would be afraid too I mean Lucius messed up several times which could have cost him his wife and/or son's life!!! Though I think Ron and Hermione got over the fear and the members of the Order probably didn't fear him or if they did not much!!!
Lucius was powerful, just as all the main Death Eaters, Aurors, and OotP members were. But he definitely was a tier below the other strong Death Eaters and Order members. He wasn’t on the level of McGonagall, Snape, Bellatrix, Sirius, Lupin, Kingsley, Mad-Eye, Tonks, or Dolohov imo. Harry and Ron were even able to take him on when he had Bellatrix, Greyback, Narcissa and Draco backing him up, 2v5.
Ahh what a bliss to see Morgan make character Arc videos just like those wonderful old days. The part where he says he is gonna follow the book and not the movie but still use the movie clips just scream nostalgia.
Excellent work!! 🛡️🗡️ Lucius Malfoy, Narcissa Malfoy, and Draco Malfoy are three of my favorites!! (Along with Bellatrix, Luna, Hermione, Remus Lupin, and Barty Crouch Jr!!)
I love Draco as you can see from my pfp I love luna and Remus and Hermione I love all evil characters and most good characters but all potterheads can agree that DELORESUMBRICH OR UMBITCH IS WORSE THEN YOU-KNOW-WHO.
I honestly think that the way Voldemort did the last part in the Order of the Phoenix is just amazing and truly stands out as one of the most well planned battles of the series.
Seeing the story from his point of view is such a curious treat, it feels so much more calculating, political, and pessimistic, while also petty and desperate which is fitting for the kind of character Lucius is.
I have severe anxiety & watching your videos really helps me remain calm. I've been subscribed for a couple years but I just realized how much your voice soothes my self harm thoughts. Another great one, as always. Thank you Morgan 🙏🏽🤍
headcanon : The muggles the Malfoys did deal with were either aristocrats of some sort or high class/very wealthy so they were and some are still picky about who the associate with.
This is So good! I Love how you followed this story line because it shows that not only does Love always win, but even past bad actions can be redeemed as long as there is Love.
You're really good at diving into the life story of various characters. Perhaps, one day, you could try coming up with The Life of Molly Weasley (Entire Timeline Explained).
During an adventure quest in Hogwarts Mystery, Lucius Malfoy pays a visit to Hogwarts as a school governor, and leaves Draco (who looked to be 7 or 8 at the time, maybe a bit younger) in the care of both the Avatar and Merula Snyde (the game's equivalent to Draco). Depending on the player's choices, Draco will either vow to attend Hogwarts or Durmstrang by the end of the quest, but completing the adventure will give the player another friend in Dobby. Whether this adventure is canon with the overall Harry Potter/Wizarding World timeline or not comes down to what choices the player makes during the adventure. Also, I was wondering if you could do another book-to-movie comparison series, but with The Hunger Games trilogy. There will be a lot of stuff added for the movies, like the conversations between President Snow and Seneca Crane in the first film, as the novels were written from Katniss' point of view. So we only really saw what she saw in the books.
Probably one of the dumbest things the filmmakers did (it was never in the books) was Lucius about to perform the killing curse on Harry right outside Dumbledores office... how in the love of f**k did he expect to get away with murdering a student on school grounds?!! It was so silly that I was laughing my head off!! 😂

I’m not one to gatekeep but people who think Lucius was an abusive husband needs a new brain. Lucius and Narcissa have a stronger bond than Molly and Arthur.
@@thelittleredhairedgirlfrom6527 if you’ve read the books you would know that Arthur was scared of Molly at times and he literally had to hide some of his muggle stuff that she didn’t approve of. That’s the toxic part of their relationship, and if the roles were reversed people would’ve already pointed it out, which also is a disgusting double standard there

Does this mean you can make a video about the life of Sirius Black I think he has one of the most interesting backstories in the Harry Potter series plus he is related to the Weasley family and Draco Ps I am honestly surprised that Voldemort hadn’t killed Lucius by the time the Battle of Hogwarts came
Yes he is related to the Weasleys through both parents. First Arthur’s mom was one of the disowned members of the Black family for her choice to marry Septimius Weasley who didn’t agree with the prueblood values and I think Sirius said Arthur was his second cousin or something. Then trough Molly they are cousins by the marriage of Sirius aunt Lucreicia and Molly’s uncle Ignatus
@@johnni-raecalzada2500 Oh woow this is fascinating! It is amazing how we read the book based on face value but with further investigation there is a lot which meets the eye. Before we know it, somehow someway we will be told that Voldemort and Harry were related
Nothing amusing at all. He resented his father for leaving his mother and him ending up in a muggle orphanage he had to grow up in. Snape had a similar story with his resentment of his abusive muggle father that’s why the pureblood ideology was so appealing to him. It’s almost like a revenge against his father.
Kind of sad that both Narcissa and especially Lucius didn't realize that it was their supremacist beliefs that nearly destroyed their family even after Draco married someone who was still pureblood
Lucius is probably the luckiest death eater as he escaped punishment in the first wizarding war Scott free, and even when joined Voldemort again in the second wizarding war all his punishment was one year in Azkaban and a temporary occupation of his manor and the ruining of the Malfoy name but that pales in comparison to the fates of other death eaters.
It’s actually Lucius who’s like a snake. because when he knows that one side has one, he slithers his way over to the other side and pretends like he was always there just do his connections. I’m sure the closest character is he reminds me of his Peter Pettigrew. He also likes the winning side. Or at least what he thinks is the winning side.
@littlemonster2483 wormtail doesn’t have the guts nor self-confidence to bribe blackmail government officials while working for the dark side. Lucius was a leader since his school days a prefect, wormtail was a follower and nervous nobody
In my opinion they should have all the main actors do a cameo in the new series. They should all play a close relative of the new trio. I feel like that’s the best honor possible while they’re still thriving respectively.
@@TomPI9000 lol it’s a show about magos dude. Im not saying they need to be regulars, I said cameo as in Easter eggs which people love. Emma could play Susan bones mom or Harry’s mom in flashbacks. But whatever.
One of the subtle changes that the movies made from the books that was for the better was the idea that first-years could not be on the Quidditch teams. They made it very unlikely (which is fair), but there was no reason that a talented first-year should be sidelined just because he or she was a first-year.
Draco apologists: Poor baby Draco, he probably only bullied Harry because his father putt him up to it! Lucius: Hey son, I know you dont like the young Potter, but can you please not to express that in public? It will reflect poorly in our families reputation. Draco: What's that? Antagonize him every chance I get and constantly talk shit about him to everyone around me?You got it pops!
Exactly and they use that one clip from the chambers of secrets (that only happened in the movie if I’m remembering correctly) to prove how “abusive” he is, nevermind that Draco is just randomly touching stuff in a shop full of cursed items 😂
@@andpeg Yes that's only a movie thing. Movies tried to show every way possible that draco had a abusive childhood and he's a horrible bully because he's bullied by his parents whole life. Which really isn't a fact according to the books. In that scene from books.. Lucius warned draco only for once before entering into the Borgin and Bruke's and draco followed his father's word with respect. He never hit draco for once.

Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and other nerdy things have done so much for me in my life and thanks to you, I can admire these stories even more. :)
I have to agree with the movie showing Lucius being quite heavy handed with Draco compared to books. I think he was quite strict about Draco’s school performance and grades but that’s quite understandable - Lucius would probably say “you literally have the best of everything and you’re not stupid so put some effort and get good grades because you literally have no excuse” and in the books they really do have an amazing bond actually and are quite wholesome (minus the blood purity mania, racism etc of course. Just when it comes to their relationship). After all Draco is very comfortable sharing school dramas with his dad, something a lot of kids in HP as well as real world don’t have. Even overreacting when buckbeak scratched Draco. Lucius acted in a very cruel way but I am really convinced his actions were genuinely caused by being a concerned father and not a political move (as I think a lot of people see it).
Amazing video! I never cared that much about Lucius life but now I'm really into it! I'm sure I'll rewatch this video over and over to learn by heart everything that happened to him! Thank Morgan!
With how amazing Jason Isaacs portrayed Lucious, we forget he has short hair in the books. Is he going to have short or long hair in the new series? That's to be seen.
Some years ago there was a fanfic called Father, My Father which gave Abraxis a long backstory Another one was The Beginnings of a Death Eater witch told of Lucius growing up. Another was I Too Will follow about Lucius. The stories Play the Malfoys as being a little nicer. Harry Potter is portrayed as a klutz. It sets up some Malfoy history. Horatio Malfoy is a very dark wizard who was a youth at the time of World War II. Horatio is horribly cruel. The son Abraxis starts out mild manner but after his wife dies and his daughter is murdered becomes hard. Lucius starts out wild but is tamed by Narcissa. Some parts are quite funny like Lucius shopping in the Muggle world. Lots of ideas for fanfics.
My brain read this comment as "I've been wanting a Lucius Malfoy in my life"and I just thought "Girl, same!"😂😂😂 i guess a Lucius Malfoy life video will have to suffice😢😂😂
18:26 if Mcnair was wearing short sleeves, how did nobody notice the dark mark on his wrist? I know its faded at this time but wouldnt it still be clearly visible?
If you think about it it’s because of Lucious that at least 4 of the horcruxes were destroyed. Because he gave Ginny Weasley the diary, the Chamber of Secrets was opened. This led to the death of the basilisk whose fang destroyed the diary, and later the other fang destroyed the Hufflepuff’s Cup. The Sword of Gryffindor also got stronger from the basilisk venom which gave it the power to destroy the Slytherin’s Locket and Nagini. If he had never gave her the diary and the chamber was not opened, then the basilisk and its venom would not have been available to destroy the horcruxes. Also just think how the battle of Hogwarts would have gone if the basilisk was still alive and Voldemort was able to release it during the battle to kill the fighters. If Voldemort knew all this I bet he would have killed Lucious on the spot.

What disgusted me about the high and mighty Malfoy family while going through the books was that being a Death Eater meant that Lucius and Narcissa-or at least Lucius-had assisted in the murder and torture of innocent children. And I guarantee he did it without blinking an eye! I highly doubt Narcissa called him out on it. But... when came down to THEIR son, THEIR child being in danger, sacrificed up to commit an impossible task, they're both like, "Oh, no! Please, Dark Lord! Not my son!" Ugh. Makes me sick! So, it's okay for them to slay hundreds of innocent people, including children but suddenly they have souls or a conscience now that the shoe is on the other foot? Pathetic! I had very little pity for them at the beginning of Deathly Hallows! I was like, "Yeah. How does it feel? It doesn't feel good, does it?" I mean, seriously! They're serving the Dark Lord of their own free will, and they know exactly what he's like. They show mercy to no one! But all of a sudden when it's their turn to be backed into a corner, they expect mercy? Come on! I mean he's a DARK LORD! What did they think was going to happen?! Huh?! Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. You play with the Devil, then you pay!

Here’s a idea for a video. You could do a comparison video with the books/films and the Lego video games. It could be about the changes the Lego video game made and which source material was used.(i.e. which parts in the books or films inspired the scenes in the game.) I think it could be a cool idea and as far as I know that no one made a video on TH-cam based off this.

Ron said that when he was puking slugs in hagrids cabin in book 2
IIRC, youre considered pure blood after 3 generations of magical descendants
@@SJ-di5zu Lucius was unarmed and drunk at this point, but with a wand and in a fit state he would be a dangerous opponent
@SJ-di5zu You are completely off
Ahh what a bliss to see Morgan make character Arc videos just like those wonderful old days.
Mostly bad guys. Interesting choice.
Chamber of Secrets from his POV made the writing seem so much more interesting to me wow
Seeing the story from his point of view is such a curious treat, it feels so much more calculating, political, and pessimistic, while also petty and desperate which is fitting for the kind of character Lucius is.
Can’t lie the actor who played Lucius, another comment said ‘Jason Issac’, was just perfect based on the books
YES! Finally a breakdown on Luscious Lucius!
I have severe anxiety & watching your videos really helps me remain calm. I've been subscribed for a couple years but I just realized how much your voice soothes my self harm thoughts.
Another great one, as always. Thank you Morgan 🙏🏽🤍
Can you do a more in depth look into Naricssia? You might as well complete the set of the Malfoys.
headcanon : The muggles the Malfoys did deal with were either aristocrats of some sort or high class/very wealthy so they were and some are still picky about who the associate with.
I thought that's canon?
Still blows my mind that Jason
Isaacs, that same man, played commander Zhao.
Considering Zhao and Lucius have similar arrogant personalities it makes since
Probably one of the dumbest things the filmmakers did (it was never in the books) was Lucius about to perform the killing curse on Harry right outside Dumbledores office... how in the love of f**k did he expect to get away with murdering a student on school grounds?!! It was so silly that I was laughing my head off!! 😂
“But officer, I didn’t mean to kill that child! Total accident, I swear!”
it wasn’t scripted actually Jason Isaacs just forgot what spell he was supposed to do
@@malakatoutaaaaand the director, the film crew, the screen writers, JKR, the editors, publishers etc slept during this moment? 😂😂😂 No "cut! Redo the scene but use another spell, Jason"?
The actor improvises and everyone has to obey?😅
Honestly I think the ultimate idea is that he didn't expect to get away with it, he was too !@#$ed off to even _think_ about that.
But maybe there's other spells that start with "Avada"? I just wanna think that way :D
I’m not one to gatekeep but people who think Lucius was an abusive husband needs a new brain. Lucius and Narcissa have a stronger bond than Molly and Arthur.
@purpleunicorn2459 FINALLY
I was with you until that last part.
@@thelittleredhairedgirlfrom6527 if you’ve read the books you would know that Arthur was scared of Molly at times and he literally had to hide some of his muggle stuff that she didn’t approve of. It’s mentioned numerous times throughout the books that Arthur lies in order to avoid getting a shouting from Molly. That’s the toxic part of their relationship, and if the roles were reversed people would’ve already pointed it out, which also is a disgusting double standard there
@@purpleunicorn2459I agree that narcissa and Lucius were a good couple but so were molly and Arthur?? They didn’t have a toxic relationship that’s just a normal relationship with ups and downs
@@lunalovegood8557 Lucius and Narcissa are always gonna be the better couple. Arthur and Molly are irresponsible for having so many babies when they clearly were struggling with money. Lucius and Narcissa had ONE baby and made sure he had everything he needed, and they are rich and stable unlike the poor redhaired couple
Does this mean you can make a video about the life of Sirius Black I think he has one of the most interesting backstories in the Harry Potter series plus he is related to the Weasley family and Draco
Ps I am honestly surprised that Voldemort hadn’t killed Lucius by the time the Battle of Hogwarts came
wooow related to the weasley? did not know
Yes he is related to the Weasleys through both parents.
@@johnni-raecalzada2500 Thanks for sharing
@@dotunkumuyi9707 your welcome
Nice to see your back to your roots, also, the actor who played Lucius Malfoy’s, Jason Isaacs would be a perfect fit for Magneto.
Fun fact: Jason Issac believes after the war Draco and Narcissa disowned Lucius and he ended up drinking himself into the grave.
Did he say it in an interview or any other thing?
I don't know but he said it somewhere@@KoniXyz
Why would he believe that? It’s obvious from the books that they did not do that and still love him.
@@Rawan.9472 Because he understands his character. Also he didn't say its canon its just what he chooses to believe.
Where did he say that? I just don’t see how that ending would make sense for either the book or film version.
Everyone always says draco had a horrible life and that he was bullying by lucius. This video made me remember that that was only in the movies😳
I find it amusing that Voldemort advocates pure bloods when his father was a muggle too
Nothing amusing at all.
The very definition of those characters that always somehow manage to escape any kind of accountability
Exactly!!! He's like Wormtail just better looking!!! 😂😂😂
Awful idea, bro.
@@TomPI9000 why?
@@IM125 Would make it way less immersive to see those iconic actors.
@@TomPI9000 lol it’s a show about magos dude. Im not saying they need to be regulars, I said cameo as in Easter eggs which people love. Emma could play Susan bones mom or Harry’s mom in flashbacks. But whatever.
The old actors have all gone woke and don't want to do this story again.
One of the subtle changes that the movies made from the books that was for the better was the idea that first-years could not be on the Quidditch teams. They made it very unlikely (which is fair), but there was no reason that a talented first-year should be sidelined just because he or she was a first-year.
Excellent video! In line with your awesome observation and analysis of the "snakelike" line, basically "it takes one to know one".
Exactly
@@andpeg Yes that's only a movie thing. Movies tried to show every way possible that draco had a abusive childhood and he's a horrible bully because he's bullied by his parents whole life. Which really isn't a fact according to the books. In that scene from books.. Lucius warned draco only for once before entering into the Borgin and Bruke's and draco followed his father's word with respect. He never hit draco for once.
You did a great job explaning his life, keep up the good work.
I love Jason Isaac's portrayal of Lucius 😊 Although there are some differences between the books and the movies, I still love the series so much, separating the art from the author of course. I love these videos, Morgan! Keep up the great work ❤
Just started watching your channel less than a month ago and I’m hooked on all ur videos. Thank you
I have an video idea: What if Draco Malfoy went to Durmstrag instead of Hogwarts?
Hi Morgan. I don’t know if you’ll ever see this, but congrats on getting married. I also really want to thank you for making amazing content. Whenever I’m sitting down to eat, bored or simply be entertained, I know I can count on one your videos, the longer ones especially. I like rewatching them and I always try to remember to leave a like. Harry Potter, Percy Jackson and other nerdy things have done so much for me in my life and thanks to you, I can admire these stories even more. :)
Always loved the “life of” videos! Glad to have another one. Great work movie flame
Excited for this! Lucius is an interesting character to explore .
Another great video Morgan! Would love to see a life of Rita Skeeter video next!
27:47 And THIS was where Lucius' cunning and slick streak was put to an END
If there is a backstory for Argus Filch, could we get a video on that?
King of HP is back, nice to see the life of again :D
Love seeing this series return. Im so waiting for the easter egg video for the Half Blood Prince. I love the series.
This is great, thank you Morgan! I find Lucius very interesting, too
Great job Morgan you really are a great TH-camr
Love the longer Harry Potter videos!
I’ve been wanting a Lucius Malfoy life of video so this is perfect!!!!❤
My brain read this comment as "I've been wanting a Lucius Malfoy in my life"and I just thought
"Girl, same!"😂😂😂
i guess a Lucius Malfoy life video will have to suffice😢😂😂
I wonder if you would do a video on Rita Skeeter. I would like to know how she got the way she did.
The Life of Sirius Black Please!!!!!!
Did anyone notice Morgan is wearing black and green for slytherin???
You are the reason Im re reading Harry Potter. Love your videos
18:26 if Mcnair was wearing short sleeves, how did nobody notice the dark mark on his wrist? I know its faded at this time but wouldnt it still be clearly visible?
well it only is visible if voldy is making somedort of signal or calling of somesort to the death eaters,
If you think about it it’s because of Lucious that at least 4 of the horcruxes were destroyed.
If Voldemort knew all this I bet he would have killed Lucious on the spot.
just as i was sitting here, bored on the clock, wondering what to watch next, Morgan comes in clutch 🎯
Its about time you makke a vidoe about him
I love your backstory videos!! You have a gift for storytelling!! ❤❤
i badly want to know what life was like for The Malfoys after deathly hallows.
has to be more than rough for em.
I thought your family can go back to pure blood if them kept marrying into pure blood families after awhile. I don't remember the video but I thought I saw that if harry kids or grandkids kept marrying purebloods like harry did they could be classified as purebloods again. If anyone knows let me know lol.
nope, pureblood means that youve always married other purebloods, no muggle blood, not even a drop
I love that the animated pics you used for Lucius and Narcissa look like my casting choices for the Harry Potter Series 😅😂🤣 I also submit that my choice for Arthur would be more believable to handle himself in a fight with Lucius. 👍🏻👍🏻
I still find it hilarious that he was so mad about accidentally freeing Dobby, that he was literally about to YEET Harry Potter into the afterlife right there and then outside of Dumbledore's office LOL
I love your videos. You put so much research and care into them. It's a true sign of your love for the craft. ❤❤
Excellent bio of Lucius Malfoy. Great job. Thank you Morgan.

Hey Morgan,
as a big Harry Potter fan I am so happy that I came across your channel a few months ago. I absolutely love your videos and I hope you know that you make so many people happy with your amazing work. Can't wait to watch this one. Keep up the fantastic work and lots of love
🔥fire video as always🔥
and god damn he's posting pretty fast
also where are these pictures from
like the picture of lucius and others
It doesn't feel good, does it?"
I mean, seriously!
Jason Isaacs performance made Lucius one of my favourite movie villains. He was without a doubt one of the best casting choices
Well I’m glad you did a Harry Potter life video. It’s been a long time since you did one of those.😅
Nice video! As a fan, I have an idea I would want it to suggest (your call though, I just wanted to voice it).
You did videos for Lily and James, Remus Lupin, and Severus Snape. Plus, you did a video about all 4 marauders together. But you haven’t made any videos for Sirius Black individually. As a fan, it’s just an idea.
Otherwise, I really like this video about Lucius.
Yes movieflame I’ve been waiting for a Lucius Malfoy video for a long time and congrats on your wedding. 🥳
OMG I love your videos but it is so crazy that you have not made a video of “ a life of Lavender Browne” she was a very quirky but interesting and pretty girl and I love your videos so it would be so cool if you make a video of her but if not that is ok to!?! You should also start doing more of these videos!!❤❤❤❤
1 hour gang and love the content Morgan
Yay my favorite TH-camr uploaded
Make a video about life of Antonin Dolohov please
I really love all your videos but can you do more Percy Jackson content or cover the show with a difference video like book difference to show difference or life of video
Can you make the The life of Narcissa Malfoy
