Really enjoyed this, you definitely deserve more subs and views, condensing the Scottish/English battle history in under 15 minutes along with a cool illustration takes some skill, I tip my hat to you 👏🏼🎩
God, I hope to see more videos from you. Among other things, I really like that you're covering the Italian wars, since a lot of people don't know about them.
Hey, your videos are absolutely brilliant! Some of the best history content on TH-cam. It's such a shame that the views are so few. Is there any way to come in contact with you or support you on Patreon or something? Would you have an email for business enquiries?
Your videos rock, please don't quit! TH-cam only has a couple big channels doing what you are doing, if you keep it up i bet you will blow up just like K&G or BazBattles have! Your animation style is really cool, your accent is interesting without being hard to understand at all (Americans are suckers for accents, just ask David Attenborough or the one South African narrator every other history channel seems to hire), and the period you cover has a ton of content that is hardly touched upon. I hope you keep at it, this channel is really awesome!
Having watched quite a bit of this type of content on youtube I have to say that I quite enjoyed this. One advice though if I may do so, choose more or different soundtracks, I watched all your videos in a row and I have to say that the song is kind of too repetitive. But hey, very nicely done indeed!
hey, great videos really love your calm style and the music is perfect:). Could you maybe do videos about the turkish invasion of europe and their sieges of Vienna. That is if you ever need a video idea :)
Anglo-Norman descent? The claimants were culturally Scoto-Norse (Gaelic/ Franco-Norwegian) with with little Anglo intertwined due to Margaret of Scotland, who in turn was half Hungarian! The Comyn's, Balliol's and Bruce's were Scottish Gaelic, early Scots and middle French speakers.
To explain what he probably means is that region of Scotland was historically a Brythonic kingdom, Alt Clut and many of the inhabitants retained elements of Brythonic culture and names for example. Its not accurate to call them welsh though, anymore than calling Celts in England before the Angles and Saxons arrived as Welsh. The Welsh were Britons but not all Britons were Welsh. By that logic they could call the Picts Welsh which would not be reasonable. However its a minor error. Scotland was formed from Pictish-Gaelic, Anglian and Britonic Kingdoms all subsumed into Alba or Scotland.
Please would you correct the spelling of SCOTS . The people of Scotland are SCOTS not Scotts. Scotts is a surname. Incidentally Falkirk is my home town. I was born and grew up there.
Well.. To tell you the truth, I am not enthralled by this video.. English and Scottish history is covered to death in TH-cam.. For every English/Scottish battle one can find at least two videos. In contrast, german/french/italian history is almost unknown and uncovered.. As for me, the great attractivity of this channel is the italian wars and portuguese colonization, topics which are almost pristine. So, after waiting for the next installment of the italian wars for one month, coming face to face yet another take on the "battle of bannockburn" (about which there is a big-budget hollywood movie, let alone many, many documentaries) was a bad surprise..
Yes but almost all of those are inaccurate and drenched in misconception and Hollywood shite. I have still yet to see a very good series on actual Scottish history that isn't full of anachronisms and cliches. Though I do enjoy this channel for the 16th and 17th century content.
It may come as a surprise to you that many Scots feel their history both under- and misrepresented by an Anglo-centric bias, and that this has led to a Unionistic whitewashing of Scotland's validity as a country. I'm fine to hear Stirling Bridge, Falkirk and Bannockburn could be covered less, but not that there is already enough Scottish history on YT
