- Mods I did to my FL250 Goki starter for better battery charging. Also I must add. WHEN YOU FLOAT THE GROUND YOU NEED TO THEN RUN TWO WIRES TO ALL YOUR LIGHTS. The engine is not grounded now. All the grounds must come off the battery. Or ground the frame and engine off the battery.

I used an 84 ranger starter solenoid. Not starter motor. You can buy the blue thing on ebay. it's called a Trail-Tech Voltage Regulator/Ricitifier
Alright ty yes I do have the holidays starter kit it just didn't come with the push button or starter/cranker motor:)

You need to change the Ody current to charge the battery. You need a diod on the yellow wire if you did not do the chang over like I did.
@shuddupnkissme23 They sale them on ebay. You need the goki fl250 starter. My ranger starter solenoid is a 4 banger
@JIMMYSBMXERS You need a Regulator/Ricitifier or your blow your lights out. You setup will work like the original goki starter is set up. BUT thats only a half wave charge at best. Many people use it and are fine with it. Did you change the lighting coil to grounded?
Cool video! I did the same thing to mine. Charges 14.8 at hi idle but can't keep up with 2 aftermarket driving lights. I'm guessing 35 watts each. Any idea how many watts or amps the new charging system produces?

BIGHEADODY I have a bunch of questions lol I put this same starter kit on worked for awhile now it's not running at all what did I fry? Points?? I'm assuming so because I didn't ground everything and I didn't put that full charge rectifier on either it's just the kit with diode
hard to say. maybe your coil. the coil inside and coil outside i would start with.
OK and when it's running again should I go ahead and ground out the lights the motor and everything sorry I'm new to this out of these stuff lol

not if your using the diode. if using rectifier like i did yes. it's two different systems.

if using diode keep it stock. best to stay away from this mod if yiur nit well versed into electronics

if using rectifier they yiu ground the lighting coil that's inside your engine.

Heyy its me again lol... do u know what engine (size) and sorry for not knowing so much ...I did get the goki starter kit just didn't come with starter/cranking motor ....its super confusing therapy like. 3 different names for one thing lol. ,thanks in advance

I’m about to do the same thing on mine tomorrow, I wish they still made the starter though.
Why would you use a full size automobile battery when you could've saved like 45lbs. There's no way an odyssey would ever need more than 150 cca.
