RM’s “you got no jams” is actually bilingual word play. J-hope said Jimin was no fun, which is 노잼 (romanized: nojaem, pronounced like “no jam”) in Korean.
Ha! I had never put this together but of course that was word play! (Wouldn’t expect anything less from our genius leader!) Thanks for putting this in the comments! 💜💜
Thank you, I didn't know that.
36:38 The budget definitely wasn't exaggerated. Keep in mind that when they debuted Bighit itself was $10 million in debt (BangPD said this on a recent interview he did with JYP) so they had a very very very steep and deep hole to dig themselves out of. They lived in the one room dorm for 2 years, and when they finally won their 1st music show award for I Need U in 2015 I read/heard somewhere that Yoongi felt embarrassed at the time bc they had all of this external appearance of success but were barely making it out of the red still. When you watch their 1st season of Bon Voyage that was released in 2016 and watch them grocery shop it's clear that they still very much had a limited budget, etc. During this time while filming American Hustle Life they were also recording their 1st full length album Dark & Wild and actually attempted to record it in a garage rather than a proper studio bc of budget.
33:45 Nope, it was Jimin. 😂 J-hope did attend a dance academy but Jimin is the one who went to a performing arts high school.
I kept laughing 😂😂❤
6:27 Part of Bighit’s genius has been scheduling “fun” for the boys into their crazily busy schedules. BTS’s birthday has another name - Festa and it’s a 2 week celebration with daily content drops. It’s been an annual tradition that is still huge. Even in the past 2 years we still had Festas but they were obviously impacted by the military service.
I know you’ve started watching the Run BTS variety show. These allow the boys to get to do activities they might not otherwise get the chance to do. The episodes are often filmed at the hotels BTS stay at whilst on tour. They film on the days between concerts and I’m sure it’s relieves the tedium of airport-hotel-concert venue- hotel - airport.
BTS also have their travel shows Bon Voyage & In the Soop. It’s filmed content so it’s work but there’s an attempt to have it resemble travel people their age might do, so BTS are given as normal an experience as is possible. Like I said genius on Big Hit’s part; it’s content ARMYs absolutely love and BTS get to enjoy too.
37:04 In Jimin & Jung Kook’s brand new travel show it was heartwarming to see not much has changed with them. They still did their own grocery shopping, cooked themselves a meal and washed the dishes afterwards. This last one got me. Here you have 2 Hot 100 No. 1 award soloists coming from the world’s biggest band and they didn’t hesitate to go the self catering travel approach. Maybe that’s part of what makes them relatable- superstar talents but regular guys nonetheless
Bts celebrates because they want to. They still did things this year while being in the military
So to give you some information that other comments haven't said yet. Yes Big Hit was struggling in the early years so much so that they paired up with MNet to create content. Unfortunately that content is usually cringe based on what MNet thinks is entertaining. The 2 shows they did together were BTS ROOKIE KINGS and AMERICAN HUSTLE LIFE.
And keep in mind if you ever choose to watch AHL - most of the people working with BTS were instructed to come off as harsh on them - it was for so called entertainment purposes. But BTS themselves gained a lot from the experience.
I believe their experiences on these shows and Korean variety programs is what gave them the incentive to create RUN BTS. The content on that series is so good and so funny. I also think it helped others in the industry to decide to make their own content as well mostly because of how popular the show (Run BTS) was and how much more popular the group became.
I know the first meeting with Coolio was very cringy but he wanted to guys to take things seriously. Coolio was an OG. He redeemed himself the next day or two by cooking for the guys and taught them that you have to love and put passion into what you want whether it’s cooking, singing, rapping, composing, etc.
Coolio separated them in 3 group and gave them one question per group about the origin of hip hop so they really understand the real essence of hip hop. And that's why bts hip hop sound deeper than other group because they learned something very important that day and that's why they respect more the genre.
They still do they own cleaning, cooking and loundry sometimes they (mostly JK) do the dishes and loundry live while talk with ARMY, there was a very funny day when JK fold his underware live
BTS learned to be charitable from this show, AHL. Sweety, this was before tik tok existed. Hip Hop culture for the decades was always to donate to the less fortunate, to their community. 44:10 These are the lessons BTS has kept with them ever since.
This is American Hustle Life. Hip hop school. This is a five-part reality show. Be sure to watch it!
Oooh heck yeah! Were all the episodes surrounding BTS?
@@peachysaiyan bts are the only idols in the series. I do want to warn you that the show can be cringe
@@peachysaiyanwarning: there is one episode that is *extremely* hard to watch. So much so that many ARMYs won’t watch it. I’ve seen small clips and know a lot about what happened but I will never watch the episode myself. I can’t remember the episode number but I’ll look it up if you want. If you got mad at the hardships video and stupid Coolio, that episode will make your blood boil and have you crying hot, angry tears.

2:26 melon music is basically the counterpart of spotify in south korea. it's a streaming platform and they have charts and award shows.
6:09 their anniversary is part of their schedule that's why we have festa which includes releasing new music, recorded videos, concerts, and events. bighit will literally release a schedule map for armys. for example, the jin hug event is part of the festa schedule but that is not the only thing we got for their anniversary this year. new music from jungkook was released (never let go), we got bangbangcon (an event where bighit livestreamed past bts concerts for free on youtube, usually total of 3 concerts in a day), we also got unreleased videos of the boys, and they will usually release family picture and have a dinner party (which they didn't do this year because of enlistment).
29:46 that is definitely taehyung 🤣 jungkook do lives where he sings for us and most of the songs that he sings are pop songs. we saw him grow up loving that genre and his debut album, golden is a great result of that. he's the main pop boy!!
When it says that Army produced this it is a compilation of several Korean, American and other translators, editors and content creators. Both Suga and Jin were the cooks for BTS when they were young, they had very little funds so both Jin and Suga used their own funds to supplement their food budget that was next to nil because at the time Big Hit was close to bankrupt. They have continued to celebrate June 13th for BTS' birthday it was and still is hard for most groups to keep going when they aren't making money. Jungkook went to the US with their choreographer because they said he had a hard time expressing himself with his dancing. They were very surprised that so many fans were in America when they got to the airport.
Just so you know, even now they drop a penny and they pick it up... these billionaires think like the poor boys they were.
Jimin graduated from the School of Performing Arts in Seoul, V also went there but he started at Busan School of Performing Arts and was the head of the class.
V has Cholinergic Urticaria it is an allergy type of illness that makes him break out in hives when he gets hot or too much stress. So many times he will wear clothes that is overly large and wear shoes that he can kick off because if he gets too hot he will start itching and that just isn't conducive too singing and dancing on stage.
They started with this skid row giving and to this day they have a heart for giving back, now though they try to do things that are not advertised.
It was just one person, Aneesa, who conceptualized and edited all the Rise of Bangtan episodes . She had some folks that helped her do things like re-watch and organize the hours and hours of Bangtan content available, and she had people around the world doing translations, starting with some key Korean ARMYs who did the original translations, then international ARMYs who translated each finished episode from English to their language. The editing and storytelling was almost 100% Aneesa, though when she was in the process she would do lives on Patreon and ask other ARMY’s opinions about how to approach some things.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Aneesa is our ARMY hero! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Re Americans not saying please and thank you. There’s a saying that on the east coast, people are kind, not nice. On the west coast they’re nice but not kind. True example of New England kindness: me driving to work one winter in Maine. Slippery road, going too fast for the conditions (but still under the speed limit), ended up in ditch. My car and I were both completely fine but…ditch. A guy plowing his driveway with a small tractor saw it happen. He drove over and said, gruffly, “Why were you going so fast? That was dumb. Ok, wait here. I’ll go get the chains.” 5 minutes later my car is out of the ditch. I thank the guy. He acknowledges me with a head nod and a ‘mmhm’. He didn’t crack a single smile and probably spoke less than 25 words during the entire encounter but the dude *pulled my car out of a ditch*. Because it’s just what you do. Kind but not nice.
American Hustle Life gets a bad rep and maybe some ppl see Coolio as being too harsh but this was a TURNING POINT for BTS. They needed AHL. They needed the lessons they learned on AHL; they're lessons they still put into practice to this day. It's what makes BTS' rap stand out amongst, well, literally anyone from Korea. Because they get it. They understand the origins of hiphop and what it means to the Black Americans who created the genre in a way that other "rappers" in Korea just don't. It was an incredibly important experience for them and I'm so thankful they got to have it even if parts of it might be "cringey" or "uncomfortable" to watch as a fan of BTS.
edit: notes, Jimin is the one who went to school for dance, J-Hope was a street dancer. BTS didn't start earning money really until 2015 (idols in korea have debts they have to pay back for training. only if you're from a big company is there no "trainee debt"). BigHit and BTS put all they had into this next album (Dark & Wild). If it failed, they were pretty much shit out of luck. Thankfully, BTS' albums always sold more than the last album they did, though the growth was smaller at this time than it would be, say, nowadays.
I feel uncomfortable just thinking about American Hustle Life right now.
i agree on this... yes it does make me uncomfortable but at the end of the day they really learned so much... even appreciated so much....they NEEDED it frfr... irirs praising the bois will always warm my heart... tony will always make me happy how even till recent years he been on the side of the boys... the advices they got from the people on streets they still carry it to this day.. .. the giving back to people thing really did made an impression on them... we can see it from all the charities and stuff they do till this day ... n never bragging about it coz they genuinely be doing it coz they belive in it... n i feel AHL took a big part in that mindset for them
Big Hit did not ask for the money back for training.
It's a choice.
Debuting and training a group of 5 members takes JYP (?) about 1 million USD. HYBE now pays quiet a bit more than that.
It's like going to university or a speciality school: it costs.
(dorms, food, training, trainees that don't make it, recording, space, trainers, filming, promo etc.)
So people could technically walk away from it without ever paying for it the Korean law balances that in the way that a label can ask for them to earn the money back.
Emphesis on the *CAN* . They do not alway do that.
Big Hit never did.
The first 2 or so episodes of the show are more than just cringe:they are cruel.
Which is why BTS rebelled and they changed it.
Did they learn more respect for the origin of Hiphop?
Sure. But it wasn't like there was no respect - just a lack of information, especially from the vocalline.
Nevermind that they worked themselves into the ground with filming AHL and recording their first full studio album.
I agree they need the exposure about hip hop america
it’s definitely their choice to celebrate their anniversary, they still do it, they even planned their military enlistments as much as they could around it, jin finished a day before the anniversary, rm, jimin, v and jungkook will finish three days before the anniversary
You don't know who coolio is rest in peace he did gangster rap He's a legend
Gangster paradise
‘Regulate’ is a song by Warren G and Nate Dogg (RIP). He wanted them to write their own lyrics to go along with the song. RM went back to LA to do song with Warren G after this.
36:35 and they still buy groceries and do laundry in their reality shows, and sometimes in their real life too if possible and they are not too busy
honestly they worked harder than they should have to always be healthy but if they hadn’t worked that hard i don’t think they would have survived in the industry, i hope they take the time now to live a healthy life and worry less about work
That and lets be fair: They are workaholics.
You can see in the schedule of Jin for example and he is one of the less intense members.
Jimin went to hip hop school and also to the Busan High School of Arts whrre he studied contemporary dance. J hope studied hip hop dancing and slso joined a street dance group called Neuron where he was the youngest member.
Jin has an older brother. RM a younger sister. Suga an older brother. J hope an older sister. Jimin a younger brother. V a younger brother and sister. Jungkook an older brother.
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
To spell it out better: J-Hope also had formal Hiphop dance lessons - financed by his mother - who he wrote MAMA for because of her sacrifice for him.
Up to this point they still do their own laundry. Jk literally did live while doing laundry and folding his underwear, also jimin seen folding his clothes and cleaning his house. I don't think they all have house help maybe they don't want to risk their private lives being exposed by whoever.
also i know youre checking out other groups like stray kids etc but you gotta keep reminding yourself bts are sleeping in 1 room they do not have any money at all at this point and they were always at the risk of disbanding from no money until 2015/2016.
they literally got fed because jin would get money from his parents to buy the group food as bang pd didnt have enough to give them for food.
its hard to understand because you see a group like stray kidz seemingly big and not rich but not broke in their first year that is only the reality for sm yg and jyp groups any group that is not under those labels did not have that at all. im just using stray kidz as a example but im really talking about 1st,2nd and 3rd gen kpop.
This show is hard to watch, although there are good moments as well. To put it in perspective, the CEO originally envisioned BTS as an all rap group and had only rappers in the lineup. Later it was changed to a hip hop group and vocalists were added. At this early point in their career they were still marketed as a hiphop group and were sent to the US to learn and to represent hip hop authentically. At this time they were not well known and the company was still struggling financially.
I’m probably a bit older but Coolio was well known in the 90s. His most mainstream hit was “Gangster’s Paradise”. He definitely came off strong and aggressive though and I think he took V’s joke saying “turn up!” as making fun of it. Obviously we know that was not V’s intent. Coolio clearly took rap and hip hop very seriously and it represented something very important in his life and community. I think overall it was a good opportunity for them to learn. Although BTS eventually changed their concept from hip hop.
Jimin is the one who went to school for dance. JHope was in a dance crew.
We had a teacher in 5th year in school that from the first day made it clear he was in charge.
Because of that he never had problems with students that hit puberty. People never disrupted his class and behaved.
That is happening here, to. Coolio does not want those antics: he wants to be listened to since it is important.
It's very direct and makes sure that no time will be lost.
It's pretty effective. He wasn't that cruel later either, just intense.
(May he rest in peace!)
7:49 i think it was first time for everyone but rm and jungkook, rm went on family trip as a child and jungkook went to study dance for bts for a few weeks in 2012
The day of their debut is the day they celebrate every year of festa they last 10 years this was their 1st festa
Tony was the best with BTS he's a lifetime fan of theirs they were taught a lot when they came to America the 1st time
You are my new favorite reactor like honestly your attention to detail and energy is everything I hope you don't ever change!
8:03 Namjoon studied in New Zealand and Jin studied in Australia.
But not that long in both cases.
in a lot of suchwita videos v , jimin and jk said that in earlier years the rapline really helped them by curating playlists for them and making them listen to music so that they could expand their tastes and they said that this helped them grow a lot so the vocal line listened to a lot of other genres like hiphop too
It's so good to see you getting closer to know them. However BTS is unique ,when I think I already know them enough another side of them unfold
Right. Which has been the best about them for me for the past 10 years. You learn something new every release. God I love these 7 men. 💜
I love American hustle life, they learnt how to deal with the US music industry and how it was so different from Korea. It is a shame they didn’t show how they were kidnapped, or the concert at the end. it is a bit rough but showed what they went through and the lessons learned on this trip. Some of the things they went through was cringy but still a great learning experience.
for their 10th anniversary, they had a whole fireworks show that cost around 20 million USD thats visible from every part of Seoul. these birthdays are what we call FESTA. we celebrate it every year and until 2049 at the very least since thats the last known itinerary that they have as a group
and coolio's dead a long time ago, have a little respect. you dont have to be mad for them, they are grown adults
Before BTS was formed, BigHit had a gg (GLAM) that disbanded in 2015 due to some controversies which means that all the money the company had sunk into them for training went down the drain.
Idol are expected to adhere to very strict standards which include no smoking in public because many people use them as a foil to project their fantasies on.
BTS has a song (Hiphop Lover) that this episode is named after. You could react to that. Thanks for continuing the series. I enjoyed your reaction.
They were also not that successfull which ment that BH after the debut of the girls put everything into BTS.
Nevermind that all other artists under the label seem to have been in a double contract with also another label. Lee Hyun is the only artist that renewed with Big Hit and is still under the label.
29:55 the only thing that i know is that jungkook really like rock music and stuff like that in his emo era 😂 he was like me frfr , aslo like justin bieber
36:25 a bit probably exaggerated here but they were still not doing well financially even 1-2 years after this show, a year after this show they literally thought the album they were creating could be their last one
Too early! There are no comments yet. Lol.
1. Yes. BTS is the last hope for Bighit. They were only able to debut because someone invested in them at the last minute. That investor saw their potential. But they were still running out of funds cos although they’re growing popular, their sales atp is supeeeer low. And they and BH don’t have the influence in the korean music industry early on. They still don’t have that much opportunities and exposure esp in their own country.
2. Coolio was popular in the 90s. He’s well-known for Gangsta’s Paradise that won a grammy. He recently died in 2022 for accidental overdose couple w/ health issues i think. He was cringe the first time but he became nicer to the boys.
3. These clips are from American Hustle Life- a reality tv show (not by bighit). I don’t like it personally bc there’s a lot of cringe moments and people who are rude to the boys. But those 2 weeks really did taught them though and it was quite an experience but it’s not for me.
4. BTS celebrates their anniversary every June 13. This was their 1st anniversary. See how small and humble their celebration is? Compare this to their 10th anniversary which they celebrated last year. They held a big event in Seoul with an estimated 400,000 people who attended. This was during their group hiatus so only RM was present to greet ARMYs and held a short event. There was a huge and elaborate fireworks show held in the Han River. It was so beautiful. You can watch the video in BangtanTV. Their anniversary event is called FESTA. They never failed to celebrate it. This year, for FESTA, we have Jin! He timed his military discharge perfectly so he can celebrate their anniversary with us. They made sure that there is at least one member to celebrate with ARMY. 🥹 You can watch the clips and video in YT and Weverse. It’s quite emotional as this is the first time Jin is reunited with ARMY after almost 2 years.
5. BTS celebrates each other’s birthdays. There are quite a few videos of them surprising each other with birthday cakes or surprising the celebrant during one of their concerts. So ARMY gets to celebrate with them too. My favorite birthday stories/tradition are: Jimin flying halfway across the world to Korea just so he can celebrate Jungkook’s birthday, Hobi/jhope posting never before seen pics of the boys from his archives on their bdays. He calls it #HopeFilm (he has an extensive and organized by year archives lol), Jin posting weird bday greetings and advanced bday greetings ( he wrote happy bday in random cardboard boxes, tissues and his phone’s notes and sometimes greet the members months before their actual bdays 😭) and also another cute thing is Jin likes to give them birthday allowance. Recently, he gifted Jimin a cute Maple story character pouch (Maple story is Jin’s fave computer game) with 2-3 months worth of his salary in the Military. He also once paid for Yoongi’s birthday meal celebration wherein he paid for all the members and their staff. 🤭
6. The best cooks are Yoongi, Jin and Jungkook! It was originally Jin who cooks for the members during their early days. He has a blog on his cooking adventures and it was quite funny. (He has credits at the end of his post and all of it are thanks to mom for the pot, the utensils, dad for the allowance so he can buy meat 😆) Before, Jimin doesn’t like mushrooms but he said he started liking them when Jin cooked a dish with mushrooms. Over time, Yoongi has cooked a lot for the boys -you can see these during Bon Voyage and In the soop! Then Jungkook- he learned from his hyungs but he’s a natural at it from the beginning. He likes showing his recipes on weverse posts and during his livestreams.

Suga smoking ❌
J-Hope with a pen ✔️
About drinking, they drink a lot, I mean a lot. Korean society drinks a lot. Suga has recently gotten into trouble for drinking. 😢
I was so angry too lol but I kept watching the episodes and eventually got over it 😊
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
32:58 that jungkook tiktok is literally a stalker video from the bushes, not something for us to share or talk about, the only person we have actually seen smoking is suga and that was for his music video, no other member has shown us anything and everything they haven’t shown us and people have found being stalkers is none of our business
it is really hard to see Bts go through this american Hustle Life it was no joke, but yet i think it was really important in a way to become the artists they are today, Dont understand me wrong i hate the way coolio was treating our boys in the beginning, but they all learned a lot and become more confident and growth a lot in the genre of hip hop
You should watch the deleted scene so funny for being themselves.
Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. American Hustle life was important. I feel like they learned a lot of very valuable lessons being here. Yes, it was cringe but beneficial nonetheless. Iris the vocal coach by the way is the lady that inspired Sister Act! I love those movies. I planned to watch this show eventually and did so a few yrs ago. Like Jin can beat box come on! That is so cool. JK got to come to USA twice once on his own. The agency really invested a lot into him and the others. They did as much as they could. Love this series. Having Jimin's 1st album and his documentary out. Makes me feel like crying. I am so freaking proud of him. He worked so hard. I always remember these clips of him telling RM he can't write. He does not know how to express himself. RM has helped him for so many years. Gosh. He did amazing. I adore his album. So good! In this case one army Aneesa made the series with some assistance from a few other armies during posting. But she did like 99% of the work. A summary of this ep was in ep. 4 u forgot. lol. Also pls don't forget the deleted and bonus! They all speak Japanese Stray Kids too. They have to. Japan was their biggest buyer until now. Now its USA. All solo and K bands speak Korean, Japanese and some Eng. BlackPink's Lisa speaks Thai as u know. Jin is the best cook, than Suga, then Jk, Jimin, etc. There's a BTS cookbook if ur interested. Two in fact. There are also twt cooking accounts since JK shows us how to cook his fav foods. U can try recipes. Make your own kimchi and stuff. RM lived in New Zealand, but the others i think it was the 1st time to go to LA. Coolia actually passed away. Here in 2014 when he met them he was not aware they were serious about hip hop. They truly loved it. Loved American rap. He taught them what they needed to know and they are better for it honestly. I suggest u watch American Hustle Life in full its only 8 episodes i think. The first 2 episodes are cringe but the show gets better. Trust me. Jimin is the contemporary dancer while JHope is the street dancer. Both are great. Just have different foundations. Jin is the youngest in his family that is why he connects to JK so. The growth is wonderful. I hope u rewatch this on your own. I think u can miss stuff when ur reacting. Hugs. -NY USA 2019 Army💟
First : that Iris woman who was giving them vocal lessons? Her life was the inspiration for the movie Sister Act! How cool is that?

They were in LA for 2 weeks filming American Hustle Life. They didn't show how the show actually began, with a kidnapping prank. All the boys were in a van and their manager went into a building to get something (he knew what was going to happen) and a bunch of men came into the van and drove BTS to a different building. Once inside they were eventually told it was all a prank. But poor J-Hope and Jungkook (who was just 16 at the time) were so scared they looked like they were on the verge of tears. After it was over Jungkook said he was worried he would never see his parents again and was worried he was going to be sold off. But imagine being in a foreign country not knowing how to speak English and something like that happening to you. Some of the members probably figured it was something related to the show, but you could tell they weren't aware what was going to happen. One of my favorite parts of American Hustle Life was seeing them on the streets of LA handing out flyers for their free concert. Trying to explain to complete strangers who they were. And then they had a mini concert at the Troubadour in LA. Who knew just over 7 years later they have 4 sold out shows at SoFi Stadium in LA. BTS story is just so inspirational, it makes you believe anything is possible.

Coolio's delivery was horrible but he had a point. They were a rap group, but very few of them had knowledge of black history and rap. Production did ask him to play it up a bit, but the boys had to learn a lesson many other kpop groups haven't learned to this day. Hiphop is not just an aesthetic, black people are not an aesthetic, we are real human beings with stories and our culture deserves the same respect you would show your own. Coolio was a great teacher and important to teaching them the respect for hip hop they have today.
@enthuzias3913 said on 1/29/24
Unfortunately, Coolio passed away in 2022. He might seem harsh but he really wanted them to learn.
Only jk at that point had been to the US. he was a trainee and went to learn how to dance, because he was the main singer so they needed him to be good at dance too in order to be at the front. they saw potential in him.
for jimin and j-hope they could dance already but not the idol type of dance so it was totally diffrent for them but they learned fast
i think that many people will see coolio here as a negative person, because yes, he was rude, but he had to ask all those questions about hip hop to bts, they had to learn about hip hop if that's what they were going to do, take it lightly is what makes kpop have so many attempts by rappers who know nothing about hip hop nor know how to rap, for BTS rap line learning about hip hop should have been something crucial (and it was) bcs two of them were underground rappers before and that marked a lot of difference between the rappers of bts and those of other kpop groups
American Hustle Life is s series of their journey learning American hip hop. It wasn't easy and defended each other a couple of times. Members even had to work different jobs to earn money.
Guys, please vote for the petition against the "challenge" that Antis created in the name of BTS and ARMY. The article was deleted but the K-media has already spread it and the damage was already done. We want them to officially say that it was not ARMY but other fandoms
Coolio was tough but I don’t think he was being disrespectful, he was trying to teach them the hip hop culture and get them to take it seriously bc it’s means so much to him and he comes from it.
You can understand Jin lacking in confidence. There he was surrounded by people who danced and sang or rapped from children. He had not sung or danced till he joined BTS. they were seasoned. He was just learning. Regulate the rap song the beat.
V is the one who likes R&B and jazz. Jungkook likes pop mainly western pop. U should listen to their solo albums u can really hear the genre influences!!
The American Hustle life episodes made me sooooo mad... the boys didn't speak English for a start... and yes, I know it was 'for the show'... but boy did I want to rip Coolio a new one.... Tony saved me in this whole show... if it wasn't for him I think I'd have bought a ticket and headed over there to sort some people out....
Hey girl, come to Texas. You will get plenty of please and thank yous. 😊 🇺🇸 I love watching your BTS journey.
First time i watched American hustle life. i wasn't even ARMY, but i was MAD mad!!
Bostonians are called Massholes for a reason 🤣🤣🤣🤣 but every region of the country has its own quirks. I’m from the Pacific Northwest, and we are generally chill and friendly, but we can have our moments
Extrañaba tus videos 😢 Thanks for this video 💜💜💜
idk if someone answered this but the best cooks are definitely between jin yoongi and jungkook
It's was jimin who went to dance school😂💜💜
Technically so was J-Hope but the modern Dance arts was Jimin.
Wasn't it in AHL where the "kidnapping" happened? It was a prank but it was horrible.
yes
Should react to bts jimin filter 💜💜
This is always hard to watch. They told one of the handlers to take the most promising trainee to America and Jung Kook was chosen to go learn to dance, so he had been to America before. It made such a huge difference in him that they have sent trainees since.
I think in the long run America Hustle Life was a positive for them, but still some of it is hard to watch. They seemed genuinely scared to death when they were “kidnapped”.
I would say Jin, Suga and JK are the best cooks. The Hyungs taught JK and he likes it.
Coolio made gangsters paradise it was a bit hit when i was young. he died last year i think
Honestly peachy at this time in their career they had no say over anything although big hits what is the most relaxed in their rules but the fact is they don't celebrate the own birthdays when they're active but they always celebrate army and BTS birthday I don't know what they would do when they come back but they have in the past always celebrated their birthdays with us complete with a cake and everything but personally I don't think they celebrate off camera which is awful. American hustle Life might have been a turning point in BTS history but I can tell you it was very unnecessary the way they treated them
Jimin introduced the birthday celebrations/giting of cakes and it stuck for years. Even when sometimes some members only gifted him/got gifted by him.
It was emotional intelligent to do this.
Because Namjoon quiet rightly said "we are men. we don't do that." But I think it became important to him, too.
I'm so sorry for them. They had a hard time in AHL! I know they learnt about it but V wanting to be hurt to rest a day is insane, suga wanting to escape from everything!! I can't watch AHL. nobody deserve to be overworked like that!! I hope they never suffer like that again 😔
Coolio was rude af. The sht he said about being at a disadvantage because of V.. Nah, no matter what you're trying to teach someone, you ain't gotta be that rude about it.
💜💜💜
girl i love you just wanna start out saying that and i dont want you to change one bit.
but i gotta correct you a bit. similarly to the kendrick vs drake that happened recently idk if you kept up with that or not but if you did you see how hip hop felt with a man who is half black half white and canadian and they felt drake dont respect hip hop while profiting look into that whole thing (mainly the cultures pov of drake even without all the weird allegations just him profiting off hip hop and using rappers to get farther but not having true respect for the culture that is a problem because hip hop is not just music is embedded in black american culture) so seeing that situation imagine non black people entering that space to do the same/similar. if any artist non black especially but also black artists from other countries outside the states need to have deep respect for the culture.
this is why korean underground rappers were speaking BS but coolio is not. i find him rude as well but hes protective of hip hop and has the right to be. i heavily suggest learning about hip hop deeper, diving into artists music like kendrick, j cole, nas, jay z, 2pac, biggie, old kanye, the asap squad, of course the queens as well nicki, lil kim, queen Latifa, missy elliot, eve, remy ma, Lauryn Hill, etc etc theres so many also duos and groups like wu tang clan and mobb deep etc
in order to appreciate bts we all have to have some level of respect and understanding of hip hop not every army does so and thats why some armys set bts up. bts are and will always be a guest in hip hop. hip hop is one of the most welcoming community ever but you have to show you know what hip hop is how and why it started and respect the OGs. bts learned through this and their own homework to do that and that is why jhope collabing with j cole or rm collabing with wale or bts collabing with nicki etc they dont just want clout and money off bts these artists dont need clout or money they collabed cause they did their research and saw bts respect hip hop. and its why sadly a lot of kpop rappers will never get respect outside of korea from the hip hop community same with korean underground, japanese rap scene etc etc almost every country on earth has rappers but not all will crossover and not all will gain respect if they dont show respect to the culture first.
rapping is not only about speed, its about flow, cadence and lyrics you write yourself. any kpop rapper who doesnt write their own lyrics is automatically never gonna be accepted thats just how it is. you cant have ghost writers you can collaborate with other writers but you have to write your raps as queen nicki said "and if you dont wanna write your raps thats fine but dont expect to be treated like people who write their raps. rappers write their raps. period."
until labels give idols creative freedom to write especially the rapper members of every group no one outside of kpop fans will take them seriously and korean industry wants to be taken seriously so idk how they dont see the issues but yeah.
im a music love but before bts my main genres were hip hop, rock/punk rock, pop punk, metal, and r&b. i liked some pop but not often.
i also listen to a large amount of latino music as im dominican. bts blew me away because they really rap rap. you see the difference when youre exposed to 'real rap' for years and then you see 'rappers' like some kpop rappers and you see the difference between being told to rap vs having love respect and passion for rapping and hip hop culture.
rap is a huge part of hip hop but its not the only element and theres rap that doesnt fit hip hop. im ranting but yeah please do a deep dive on hip hop theres a great doc idk if its still on netflix or if its on Canadian netflix but its called hip hop evolution its a good starting point :)
Coolio passed away
I heard!! At the end of the day, he might not have sugar coated everything for the BTS members to learn but he still wanted the best for them for sure. I hope he is resting easy! 🕊️
@@peachysaiyan yes i agree☝️
Noooo....Coolio is right. But the point is, he is being honest, and this is the lesson they learn. Honesty, hard work, and achieving rewards.
Lol I only know of drake from his Degrassi days fam that’s how old I am 😂 also, not a fan of the American Hustle Life era. They staged a kidnapping as a prank - JK was almost in tears because he thought he was done for, Jhope was similarly terrified. I think the only one that kinda saw through it and kept his cool was Suga. I know it was a harmless prank and they laughed about it in the end, JK legit thought he was never going to see his family again. Doing that kind of prank in a country known for its street violence left a bad taste so I kind of avoided it 😒
Blackpink
This show was very cringe with too many moments of abuse to the point that the camera was turned off because Suga was going to hit someone (just kidding) but he didn't. He should have but couldn't. The first thing from the airport was a kidnapping, sigh 💜
To be clear: it was the “mentor” that was acting abusively toward Jin and Suga got so angry that he had to walk away so he didn’t get into a fight. That “mentor” got fired after that and things got much better
