About the RM situation, he didn’t plagiarize the artist but apologized anyway. I don't think the editor framed that correctly/well enough. What happened was RM had quoted a poem which this other artist had quoted in his lyrics as well, but people didn’t know the poem and assumed RM had stolen his lyrics. This started another (like the 182917th) hate campaign against him, and bts got accused of plagiarizing ridiculous things like hair colors and the peace sign pose etc (no substantial accusations) AGAIN. So RM apologized, I assume because of the pressure, trying to explain the situation would only have fanned the flames. The reason bts keep getting accused so much of "plagiarism" is because there's nothing else to get them on. The people in power and other labels never wanted and still don't want bts to succeed, so they keep creating slander campaigns against them, which get picked up and sometimes even started by hundreds of thousands of kpop stans who are bitter that bts succeeded over the people who "should" succeed (their fave group/BIG3). But there's nothing real for them to base those slander campaigns on so they keep coming back to bts "plagiarizing" hair colors, the glitch effect, the concept of school uniforms etc. The other go-to is "chart manipulation", because they think fans "mass" buying music is manipulation (we're a mass of fans, idk what's not clicking for them), and then the sajaegi which bts won their court case over and have proven over and over again to not be real (common sense would tell you that but they don't care).
Plagiarism accusations in K-pop is pretty popular. If u have the same hair color. Plagiarism! If you have a scene of. Dinner with an oval table. Plagiarism! And in K-pop, you apologize right or wrong. It’s normal to apologize for having caused controversy even if you are the victim
It was stupid BTS was accused of plagarism for so many stupid things. 3 members were still at school so they chose a school theme for the first 3 albums. They wore school uniforms( popular in anime, and kpop also cheap). That made the headlines as plagarism because another band wore a school uniform and it was released a month or so earlier. Hair colours that were fashionable, plagarism. They used a balloon on an album ... plagarism. when they used beats or that time when Sugar used that James Brown sample. Plagarism....alot was because fans do not really understand what plagarism means and the press picked it up because BTS were becoming successful and it was open season as they were not backed by a big company, they were an easy target.
There is no way to argue that our boys are a family. Wings is such a great album. So much to delve into. No series can really do justice to all the guys have done and gone through.
you are right there. BTS are so natural in their behind the scenes videos. so that when they make fun they really sound funny and when they start crying you can't help yourself from crying with them.
It's a very strange (to me), but in Korean culture, an apology is expected (and given) even if someone is not in the wrong. RM did not plagiarize, but apologized because he was accused and therefore it was expected. Once he apologized it bred further accusations, because of course an apology implies guilt.
One of the reasons BTS all lived together for 8 years( not only because they supported each other) given the death threats it simplified security. It was cheaper. Watch those early clips they are always very frugal, except when it came to equipement to create music, mvs, or concerts.
Security and financial reasons as well, but I believe it was mostly because of their tight schedules. To already be together and just be able to go as a group was much easier than having to meet up every day, people being late, traffic, etc. Also, they did not have individual managers at first.
@user-nh5iz8xu7y They're probably flexible, just like with the bodyguards, but I haven't seen anything. They have their own managers now, who could also do other work if free, they're not babysitters. They keep their trusted people around and some people get along well more than others. They're all professionals! But I'm not digging into this. They do what they do and I trust them to do it well and take care. 💜
Hi Frankie!! Thanks for your reaction... I think you could react to the song " Spine breaker " mv and how the made the video.. it's really interesting how they did it ... I purple you guys 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🇲🇽
A joy to watch with you guys, as always. My grandfather worked in Detroit in the auto industry...in the 60s I believe. The family lived up there for a few years, but, then came back to Nashville. I've met so many people in Nashville that are from Detroit over the years. There seems to be a pretty good connection between the two cities. Anyways, can't wait for your BTS mix, although I'm sure I'll be sleeping, lol. But, I will def be watching the video. Have a wonderful night you guys! 💜💜💜
About the plagiarism issue: there was one instance where RM apologized and received a lot of hate because they were after him so many times and this time he actually admitted to doing something wrong. He said he usually takes notes when something he reads inspires him. He took a line from social media and long time after he used it in his lyrics for a song where he was featured in. The line was “I will become your underline because you’re that important.” He apologized because he was in a hurry to write stuff and didn't properly research where was that line that he wrote in his notebook from. The apology felt honest and that was it, it's the only time when it was actually something not made up. But of course because of that instance where he apologized, so many haters started accusing him all the time for everything under the sun 🤷🏻♀️.
That producer at the beginning that was talking about identity is Zico. He was the leader of a now disbanded group called Block B. He’s a genius songwriter/producer, so Bang Shi Hyuk ((Bang PD/Hit Man Bang) tried to recruit him to Big Hit (I hope I’m remembering this story correctly, but I don’t think it was HYBE yet) but Zico started his own company and Bang Shi Hyuk bought the whole company just to get Zico. So now Zico writes and produces songs for HYBE artists.
The haters are still projecting their feelings for themselves on to BTS. They seem to be making a career of it. Even though I love this series, they left the plagiarism part vague.RM was young and apologized when he shouldn't have.I always have my breakfast while watching you and Irene. Thanks for the company.😊 I have3 cats who love attention. See you soon.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
It's 보라해 (borahae)! It means 'purple-have', but translates to 'I love you, at the end of it all! (there's no purple alone, queue Whalien 52! 🐳 🎉). Borahae, like in Haggis. Not -hey, -hee, -hi, -hay. 해! Haggis (해ggis) is really the best I can thing of. I hope this helps somehow! 🤟 🤣 If not, keep listening, the guys say it plenty if times! Borahae! HAPPY PURPLE 2025! 💜
As an American, it's difficult and feels "cringy" watching the behavior/hearing the questions from these American reporter/interviewer, in the beginning of BTS career. 😒😳 Totally understand RM's reaction/response (annoyed) to some of them.💜😎
I really appreciate whoever made rise of bangtan because it's very helpful and full of informations. But Sometimes i don't like how this series represents army as kpop fans. Like when we win our votes , or break new records , it's known that army are the best at doing it not other fandoms. or when they concider bts' achievements as kpop's achievements even though kpop stans always find new ways to hate on bts and army whenever we win something. Also when they compare privileged groups' struggles to bts'. All idols suffer to get where they are now , it's a known fact but in bts's case , it's much worse than others. If you only read their book , it's heartbreaking.
yes, the maker or RoB seems to me a kpop stan/multi, so she does kind of group in bts' own achievements and make it seem like those are Kpop's achievements, when it's all thanks to bts and bts alone.

Prayers for them - the whole country has been pummeled this last year with events :(

bump!
Like the smear campaign early last year suddenly all this accusations appeared even the one they won in court.

That artist said he was really feel honour then someone like Rm think like him he apologized to RM for all controversial
nods

@Sherluck93 it was convenient in so many ways yet it is still highly unusual for kpop artists to live together after the training period.
@Sherluck93even now the managers seem to interchange between them

JK couldn't release his song for Army made up of our own words because it might be seen as plagiarism... They're all nuts. 😵💫 💜
27:18 V's too cool for this world! OT7 forever! 💜
