    Nice restoration!!
For anyone looking for bearing specifics…
Note: This vintage N9000b Makita model has similar, but slightly different bearings to the updated/modern version of the N9000b saw.
    Armature:
    Output/gear end:
NSK 6201-DDU Deep Groove Bearing - 12 x 32 x 10mm (IDxODxW) full contact double rubber sealed bearing (#29 on explosion diagrams of updated version schematics)
    Commutator end:
NSK 6200-DDU Deep Groove Bearing - 10 x 30 x 9 mm (IDxODxW) full contact double rubber sealed bearing (#34 on modern version schematics)
    Gearbox:

    Bearing mounting instructions
I don’t agree with the ‘hit it with a hammer' approach in general, and without going overboard, prefer to use an appropriate sized socket matching the inner race or outer race that has the tightest fit (e.g. inner race if mounting to a shaft; outer for this gearbox) as a drift, and use gentle taps. Even relatively moderate heating (e.g. using a hairdryer) can help immensely but be careful of seals, especially contact ones, and factory lubricants.
Diagrams can be found on page 18 of the FAG manual.

“As the hardened bearing rings are sensitive to blows, these must never be applied directly to the rings. On mounting of non-separable bearings, the mounting forces must always be applied to the ring which will have the tight fit and therefore is the first to be mounted. Forces applied to the ring with the loose fit would be transmitted by the rolling elements, thus damaging raceways and rolling elements. Bearings with a maximum bore of approximately 80 mm can be mounted cold. The use of a mechanical or hydraulic press is recommended. If no press is available, the bearing can be driven on the shaft by gentle taps with a hammer or mallet. However, a mounting sleeve with a flat face must be used in order to distribute the mounting force evenly over the entire ring circumference and to avoid dam age to the bearing. The inside diameter of the sleeve [/drift] should just be little larger than the bearing bore and, to avoid damage to the cage, its outside diameter should not exceed the inner ring shoulder height. [For a bearing seated with interference fit on the outer race the reverse is true i.e. outer sleeve diameter very slightly smaller than the outer bearing surface, but still larger than the inner ring, such that any mounting forces are applied to the tighter fited race]. If a self-aligning bearing has to be pressed on the shaft and pushed into the housing at the same time, a disk should be used which bears against both bearing rings, thus avoiding misalignment of the outer ring in the housing.”

Not a bad run down on how to BUTa good tradesman would ust the correct size ring spanners and would not undo the blade bolt with either an open end spanner or shifting spanner
